Big daddy food truck in Peterborough

The chicken was pink inside & there was no coleslaw, everyting was okay

And once again another 10 out of 10. I never leave reviews most of the time unless if I’ve got something to complain about but this here place is special. The food literally changed my life and now look…… here I am writing a positive review….. (which is rare). It’s hard to explain how good the food is, it’s one of those ‘you have to try it yourself’ type thing, trust me it’s worth it.

Even though the food came a bit late I have to say it was worth the wait. This is by far the best Caribbean takeaway I’ve ever had, I strongly recommend this place food quality is 12 out of 10.

Food was terrible. Dumplings were like rocks. Everything smelt like old oil and the macncheese was like mashed potatoes.

Absolutely delicious arrived nice and hot and the flavours were spot on 👌 defo ordering again!

They were at a park fest in a student park. The burger patty was dry and tasteless. The beef was fatty and at the same time very hard to chew. I do not recommend, it is not worth the "hipster" price.

Ordered in December and it got cancelled, ordered today (April) and it got cancelled. It's such a shame as I generally do like their food....

Food was really good only thing i could moan about is the time my food took to come but all in all 👍

Was missing Macncheese but the rest of it was 10/10

I’d order from here again but was missing a few items, my Mac and cheese and plantin. I ordered the mix chicken wing meal.

Food was average with shop bought coleslaw but had some at Bretton fete and it was lovely so hope was just a bad night

The food was flavoured nicely. the oxtail, I never seen so much small tail. The chicken was very dry, it was hard and unchewable. Very disappointed as it was my first order with you. I will order again hopefully this was a mistake.

Lovely flavours but more sauce with the curry would make it better

2nd time ive ordered and been more than disappointed dumplings plantain and coleslaw missing, curry dry, claggy rice, the flavour was there in the chicken but not cooked well, wont be ordering again

Really enjoyed my meal. Was very tasty and delicious, would recommend.

Food quality was good but cooking itself was very average and not as spiced as expected.

It takes a long time to get your food but seems a one man band. The rice and peas are the fluffiest i’ve ever had but i like that. The macaroni is fine but i’ve never rated west indi macaroni cheese anyway (my family LOVE their cheese). This would have been q good review bar the curry goat, I did ask him if its tender so maybe he took some out and trued to cook it fast but there’s no gravy and it overcooked on high heat. I think a lot of people who order west indi food don’t know how to cook it but I do and I’m lazy. The meat was fine to eat but not curryx goat, no gravy, no carrots or potato or cabbage just oil and a dry spice burnt in. Smaller pieces of the meat were actually burnt and they was still fat left in so like I say, I don’t know if they try and heat it up quick and the original is better. I also don’t think it’s the end for Big Daddy’s truck, just needs to practice some.

Food was cold, sauce had leaked all in the bag and rice was clumpy.

This today was TEN, TEN!! My food arrived piping hot, was all present and correct and it tasted absolutely amazing!! I enjoyed every single bit of my order. And i can not wait to try some more of their menu!! Thank you guys….Amazing :) x x x

Rice was under cooked.... food was cold... delivery was late. Fried chicken was nice but cold.

Amazing food, best takeaway i've had in p'boro for awhile only nack was I was missing 2 dumplings, everything else was spot on 🙌🏽

Mad disappointed with the portion sizes tbh compared to what I'm used to getting in North London and Luton when I order Carribbean food for the same price. I'm Carribbean myself from Miami and I know how the food should taste and when someone is trying to be slick with the portions. The oxtail portions were disrespectful to my wallet, incredibly tiny. The oxtail also looked as if it was scraped from the bottom of the pot 😒as there was burnt remnants of the oxtail sauce and it was very salty. The rice had a refridgerated taste and was dry as if it was not cooked in the same day (Shame!). I ordered online intially on their website and it said my order was confirmed and was being prepared on the food tracker but when I sent my husband down there to collect, the man said the system wasn't working but my husband noticed him quickly turn his iPad on (Shame!) So we had to reorder and wait another 20+ minutes. I ordered a whole jerk chicken and sauce. Tell me why the jerk chicken was chopped up to bits, dry, and looked like scraps from the pan and he gave us this tiny little pot of sauce (Shame!) If you order a large you end up getting a regular size instead and he will tell you "yeah, yeah it's a large" Best to check your portions before you leave. I was really hopeful for this location but I'll give it a miss in future. I thought getting a takeaway would save me the stress from a long day and week, instead he give me all the stress, my blood pressure has gone up. (Shame!) I want him to ask himself if his auntie, mother, or Grandmother would be happy with what he gave us tonight🙃He and I both know the answer to that!
