Fantastic food, great choice of vegetarian dishes & excellent service. We have been regulars here for 18 years and they have never let us down. Take your own drinks or use the cocktail bar.

Complete disregard for a declared allergy. Unable to confirm whether chefs had ensured allergen was not in food. And really poor attitude by staff when the presence of the allergen was brought to the manager’s attention - begrudging replacement and a singular lack of concern for the serous consequences that could have ensued for an elderly relative. Have been customers since it opened but this is a classic case of a restaurant becoming too full of its own reputation and forgetting to treat customers with respect or concern. We have now been to Zazzu in Shenstone twice and can’t begin to describe how much better the service and the food is!

I visited here on Monday December 18th with friends to celebrate my moving to the local area. WE HAVE ALL been using this restaurant and it's sister restaurant Regards in Harborne for the last 8 Years. NEVER EVER HAD AN ISSUE, HOWEVER VERY VERY RUDE MANAGER which upset me and FRANKLY put an dampener on the evening for me. However AS ALWAYS the food was excellent. I am bringing friends on Saturday December 30th to celebrate a 30th birthday. LET'S HOPE IT'S A BETTER EXPERIENCE!!!!!!

After visiting quite regularly over the years with a group of friends I have tried a few different dishes. All of which have been very good. However over the last few visits a clear favourite has appeared. The Dum Ka Gosht is a truly fabulous dish. As you know mutton is an older lamb so is a much stronger flavour. The pieces of mutton are very large and melt in the mouth tender. The sauce is tomato based with a great combination of spices. Oh and the portion is huge!

Had a delivery of Chicken Tikka Madras and Mushroom Pilau Rice . Although reasonably tasty the container was swimming in what looked like Ghee or Oil and took some time to stir in which when served still was separated. Mushroom Pilau was also very wet. Reasonable but not great

We’re regulars, going once a week or fortnight. We’ve always had a good meal but this time the chicken in our Baltic was most definitely re-used and warmed up, chewy and unappetising. I hope this isn’t the norm to save money. We went on a Friday

Went here for partner's birthday night out. The food was very good. Although the waiter seemed pleasant enough, I got the impression he would rather have been somewhere else. Was a little off putting, like us being there was an inconvenience to him. We booked in advance and the restaurant was fairly quiet. Saying that I would go again as the food was good and we all had a good evening. Good parking close to the restaurant too

Went on Saturday night with friends. Had a fantastic meal. Food top quality, my husband and I had the combination dishes which were all very tasty and differentiated. Generous portions and high quality ingredients with lovely fragrant flavours.Service was excellent despite full restaurant and waiter’s friendly and attentive.order taken promptly and food followed shortly arriving altogether and all piping hot. Atmosphere in restaurant was good felt a buzz in the air and enough staff to deal with everyone. Eat here regularly and never disappoints. We are lucky to have such a high quality establishment on our doorstep.

Went with my family last night which should have been a nice Christmas catch up instead we waited ages for are food even thou we were the first The children’s nuggets and chips came out at long last as the children are so young we had to cut the nuggets up we noticed the chicken was raw in the middle all 5 plates Thankfully we managed to grab all the plates but one of the children had eat one he’s only 2 and this morning has being sick with diarrhoea I’m fuming this is Basic cooking As fair as the curry goes it was just ok I hope none of the family are ill today especially are new breast feeding mom

First visit & impressed. Nice decor & thought be expensive. Can have starter,main,rice, naans & coffee - all for £14.95. Real value for money & delicious flavoursome curries.

Visited this restaurant on Sunday. Very unfriendly staff. Order meal. Chicken tough and could not cut into it. Nobody came over to check if meal was ok.

Went give a curry with some work colleagues. Food was lovely. You can take your own drinks too which is a bonus. Staff were really pleasant and helpful

Food quality has gone seriously down hill. Our meal was poor with one dish (lamb shank) being completely inedible. Flagged it with the manager who agreed that it was poor but did little to resolve it. This will be our last visit to Bhujon

Ordered a takeaway in December. My husbands dish was really tasty so credit where credit is due but mine was completely inedible. Absolutely swimming in oil so we both shared his. Called the restaurant and no one answered. I have sent two emails to them with a picture of the meal and no response at all. It’s a shame that they wouldn’t want to have a chat with me, apologise and maybe try and rectify it.

Bhujon meal at Mere Green We had a very tasty meal for two on a quiet Tuesday evening. Starter was the onion bhaji with dip and side salad, followed by the mains of salmon and the kori gassi. With rice & naan with the mains, and an Indian kulfi ice cream for desert, the bill came to £37.00. We took our own wine and the service was good. The only aspects I would mention were that we feel there should be a hot warmer on the table as by the time we had completed our main meals the rice and naan bread had become cold in the interim period. Secondly when receiving the bill the waiter had made it contactless before I could place my card in the machine for putting in my code. Regards Gary Saunders

Booked on line, was greeted, very well under this Covid19 Rules ,tables set out very well , we both had starter, mains meal same very good value , been here for New year eve celebrations, staff always very attentive recommend a visit .

Have eaten at Bhujon a number of times pre-pandemic and thoroughly enjoyed it. The good is always good! We were surprised to be able to get a table on a last minute booking last night given its a popular restaurant and they are part of the "eat out to help out" scheme. Sadly the owner was clearly cramming as many customers in as he could! There was no social distancing whatsoever. Tables and customers were way too close together and customers were not being kept separate in the waiting area either. My husband and I are now self-isolating! Unless Bhujon adhere to the social distancing measures, I strongly suggest you avoid this restaurant, and they should be fined! Very disappointed!

Lovely to catch up with another couple tonight. But we all felt uncomfortable at Bhujon. One manager and 3 waiting staff. Far too may customers. The centre line of tables should have been removed. Tables far too close. Diners far too close. Fabulous food but I felt far more at risk tonight than I have at any point since March.We have had great food via takeaway during lockdown but the dining in experience was horrific. People waiting in a queue, all with bookings for 7.30. At 7.40 another party join the back of the queue and the male goes to speak to the staff. They get seated before 3 others parties all with bookings at the same time. There were not enough staff. They were run ragged. Worst service we have ever had. Asked 3 times for glasses. On second occasion we were brought left over glasses from a table that had just departed. One had food on it. Tables and diners sat in normal seating plan. Most restaurants have made changes due to covid restrictions but not Bhujon. It was their normal, crushed layout and it was full. Just trying to get as much money as possible with minimal staff.Fed comments to manager who offered us money off which I didn't take as I felt with the 50/50 offer we had had a decent meal and I was commenting on their set up not the food. We won't be going back to dine in for a long time.

Last night we decided to take advantage of the government 50% discount ,mon-Wednesday offer and we’re not disappointed. Although we live on the doorstep to this gem we have only ever had A takeaway from here. We booked a table for 3 , there was socially distance floor markings clearly visible and alcohol handheld available at the top of the stairs . All the attentive staff were wearing visors and gloves. The food was cooked beautifully and we didn’t feel rushed. Bhujon restaurant also allows you to bring your own drinks , so this further reduces the cost of you fancy an early week treat.

Great inexpensive Indian food in lovely surroundings - I’ve eaten and loved Indian cuisine for forty years and this place is top for flavour and consistency - I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve eaten here. At weekends it can be very popular but they’ve always managed to fit us in.

Booked a table in advance in an empty restaurant on a quiet Monday night in March. We arrived and sat down and asked for the Sunday to Thursday fixed price meal displayed on a highly prominent A 1 poster which was popadum , any starter, any main and any sides and tea or coffee ( with exceptions ) for £13.90 each but after we ordered the meal deal and confirmed it was available and after the meal deal popadums arrived we were told the manager has now decided that the meal deal was not available today. We then scaled back and just had mains at less cost but they tried to con us and won’t be back.

Very poor service on takeaway or delivery, no condiments provided and charged for what is meant to be free, and couldn’t accept their staffs attitude towards the takeaway customers......they try to rip off dine in customers , I don’t mind if the owner of the restaurant wants to contact me about my honest review.....

I have been to Bhujan on several occasions and the food is consistently good . The service however is consistently poor and customer attention is non existent. I am reluctant to say I won’t go back but the staff are so bad it’s embarrassing. I hope it improves to compliment the kitchens efforts.

Staff are friendly, attentive, and personable. Most tables are full on any visit creating atmosphere and underpinning the good quality of food and service.

First time there. The food was good but the service was absolutely diabolical it was as if the staff just didn't care, the food was all but chucked down in front of you. The music was far too loud. I would go back again.

This was my favourite Indian restaurant and considered myself has a regular.....but but but, what has happened. Subtle changes over the last 6 months , smaller plates for starters, change to crockery and cutlery... why? And the quality of food is not good, is there a new chef? Standard of customer service is getting worse. The food I had on my last visit was not the usual standard. Asking for an extra plate or spoon was slow to arrive. Things need to improve or they will be losing regular customers. I did not mention at the time of our visit because we were with friends. The staff not interested in their job I think. I agree with RichLevy comments too.

Visited with two friends last WednesdayRestaurant quiet but as had been here a couple of times before not unduly worried. However what followed was downright shocking.....All three of us ordered different mains with Naans (poppadom and dips acceptable for starters) 10 mins after finishing starters all three mains arrived on “plates” (sliced chicken visible and not diced as expected and served on previous visits) and all looking the same !In tasting these dishes (all tasted far too similar) it became apparent that the levels of spice applied were masking something more sinister We called the waiter over but just got a shrug of the shoulders !!!!Complained to who we thought was the man in charge but again just a shrug....Two mouthfuls each - Paid bill and left ....Never, Ever again eating in this “Place” as just one awful all round experience had left more than a bitter taste in the mouth

A little bigger than most local Indian restaurants with entrance and seating on ground level and dinning on a lower level. Not sure how a wheelchair would cope?

Just returned from Bhujon after another lovely meal. I’m surprised to read the negative views here and I have to say, speaking for myself, I have thoroughly enjoyed every meal here.

Rude staff, horrible service. Would not recommend at all. Offered drink soon as we arrived, however, was told a chef has gone home. Felt scammed

Used to enjoy a really good curry here but over the past number of years it’s really gone downhill to the point where I will not be returning.

Had an excellent night with the mates. Food was great, drinks were great, top,top, top. Highly recommend it.

Came here before and suggested a friend to go down and check it out. So he went with his girlfriend. He told me they had a wonderful time. They were not disappointed with the food. Everything was delicious and that they would definitely go again.

Foood was delicious. The sweet chilli chicken starter was great. Place looks fab! Every restaurant needs booths! Even the toilets were WOW!

Nice location with easy parking outside on the street. We were seated in a nice comfy booth, friendly and relaxing environment. We all had different dishes and everyone was delicious. Will be back.

Attended Friday 19th January. Shown to our seat and not a word was said by the waiter. After a few minutes he returned for our order and just stood by the table as if waiting for a bus. Think we'd be still there now if we hadn't have asked if he wanted our order.

Went to Bhujon on a Monday evening for a couples dinner, there were about five other tables occupied which for a Monday was reasonable. We sat in a comfy booth table and the meal was very tasty and filling. Would go again.

Have visited this restaurant lots of times - we last visited in 5 Dec for my sons bday - the food was good as always but the lighting has become most unatmospheric too bright and the music in the background was awful - kind of puts me off going again.

We visited with another couple and had a lovely evening as always the service was first class and staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. Food was delicious very tasty, fresh and vibrant flavours. My husband and I both went for combination dishes which could have in any combination, King Prawn Bhoona a delight. You can take your own booze which we like and staff were happy to provide ice buckets. Good atmosphere in restaurant and enough staff to cope when busy so food arrived in good time. Best curry house in Sutton Coldfield and lucky for us right on our doorstep. Will return.

Excellent, authentic cuisine & first class service! I was especially impressed with the starters & the variety of main course dishes on offer. Last but not least - the Nan breads - they were out of this world!!! You'll search far & wide to find Indian cuisine to this standard.

I visited this restaurant last week and was exceptionally pleased with my experience. Both the food and the service were well beyond my expectations and I will definitely be returning soon!

I go with a large number of friends every weekend. Without fail they have provided a good service. The meals are always up to standard and the most pleasing moment is when the chef comes out to ask if our meals are okay. Also the manager is always polit.

Was so excited to go out for Indian food on a Friday night with the family after work. I have rated poor opposed to terrible based on the fact we had good service, however if the review was based on the food it would be terrible.

Have eaten in the restaurant before and been impressed so thought we’d try the take away for a change as usually use Mango spice. Take away arrive 30mins late and not very warm. The Jalpari Pani (fried king prawns) was mushy and horrible. The lamb chops had hardly any meat on and were chewy. The mains of Tawa chicken tikka masala and chicken makhani ok but not amazing. May have been better hot.

Visited tonight. Nice setting, very good staff who were friendly and attentive. Lovely food that was very well presented and tasty. Very decent experience. Well done.

Took advantage of £12.95 for starter, mains plus tea or coffee. Had lovely couple of Baltis plus a veg platter starter. All very tasty. Came in for first time as were just walking past. Will be back again!

This place never ceases to amaze me, every visit seems to get better. I particularly love the fact that we have the option to bring along our own drinks 😊 I thoroughly recommend the Naga Jall. Very hot dish, but full of flavour.

Bhujon hosted 3 evenings of free meals for customers as a thank you for supporting them over the last 5 years, what a kind gesture that was I don't know of anywhere else that would do that.

Great night in around a friends house celebrating our sons GCSE results. The takeaway from Bhujon was tasty, quickly prepared and the service was friendly. We will definitely go there again.

Recently started going to bhoujon although lived in Sutton for years. Tend to forget about this restaurant but believe me you shouldn’t! Great decor , air conned . Good service and really great food. Fresh and good value. Bring own drink or they serve drink. Have to say can’t be bothered bringing own drink as it’s not expensive to drink in there. Great place will be back.

Great food, great price, good service, overall a good experience and would visit again. The vegetarian options were good, and plenty of food on the meal deal. I'm not sure why people bring their own drinks, they are licenced and serve alcoholic drinks

Went for an impromptu meal, was no problem. Well looked after. Food was its normal good standard as was the service. Well recommended, it is one of our regular restaurants.

First visit here we were seated and asked if we wanted drinks only beer available was lager. Popodums were served prior to ordering these were stale starters and mains were good, service was fine and prices were good as an offer was available

Has a lovely meal tonight at Bhujan. Even had an offer on of 4 courses for £12.90. (Popadoms, starter, main, side & tea or coffee) I had an onion bhaji (small portion) Chicken Tikka Tawa (Madras) with rice (decent portion). The food was lovely and plenty. Would recommend and return. Only downside which I did't like was the mention of tip when using the card machine. I'd rather leave my own tip and normally do with cash.

Bhujon is a lovely Indian restaurant and the food is always good. However, much of the food is very tomato based so if you like your sauce/gravy brown (onion based) I would probably look elsewhere. The ambience is always excellent and the service good.

Saturday night and so busy. Take away customers were being turned away. More waiting staff were desperately needed. We waited. Ages to be seated despite ore booking. Finally seated it took an age to get a waiters attention. Ended u0 going to the bar ourselves. The popularity of the restaurant shows the quality of food. Starters super. Curries delicious. Great fluffy rice and naan. Cheap two course menu Monday to Thursday excellent value. Also great that you can bring your own drinks despite being licensed. Will return. Recommended booking.

The weekly special meal for £11.90 is excellent value, you can choose pretty much anything off the menu, some have a supplement but not many, the portions are usual size and not smaller as some set priced menus are, I usually end up taking some...

Having tried different restaurants in Sutton this one seems to the best! Even ordering a take away the food is tasty, meat is good quality and there is a good range of vegetarian options. Very impressed with service and friendly staff.

As an Indian vegetarian I rarely ever eat at Indian restaurants. This one is the exception because it is both stylish yet affordable elegant food too. I do have to ask for extra flavour, natural spices and chilli but the staff are beyond helpful. I...

Had a work dinner here with 4 colleagues after work one weekday evening. Service was excellent, a wide variety of dishes to choose from off the menu. I had the Bengal Fish dish with rice, it was very tasty. Everyone was happy with their meal and at less than GBP20 per head (incl drinks) value for money.

We had the Sunday to Thursday £11.90 special menu which was very good value. The portions were of a good size and very tasty and service was also very good. It was very noisy in the restaurant but there were 2 big parties in so maybe we just picked a very busy night. You can take your own drinks but have to pay an extra £1 per person to do so.

We have been using this restaurant for several years and the food is generally a very good standard. However, we ate here last week, a group of 8 of us and the service was very slow, which is unusual. Also, which we all found annoying is the fact that they have now introduced a corkage charge....I know it's only £1 per person but a couple of our group were only drinking soft drinks and we were charged for those also and when we queried this, they were having none of it and would not remove the couple of pounds. Hence, 8 regulars left feeling somewhat miffed.......all very silly as they then lost out on the usual generous tip.....With so many other restaurants, particularly Indian in the area, we will now make a point of going elsewhere. Like I say, only a couple of pound but the attitude of the staff was not good. Before writing this, my wife emailed the management who have, a week since, still failed to reply!!

Reasonable Indian food at decent prices. Nothing stands out but always reliable. Service is unmemorable if not a little slow.

Had a very tasty meal. Very good service . Was the special week day offer, 3 courses...so was even more impressed. Couldn't really find any fault with the whole evening.

Some close friends and I often go here for our curry catch up night. Quality has been inconsistent in the past but I assume they have upped their game since mere green was updated! Meal was so fresh tasting, I had a vegetable biryani and I could taste every vegetable in the rice and curry. Love it. Nice looking place too, very swish with the grand sweeping staircase.

Really enjoyed dining here, quick and friendly service and the dishes the four of us had were fantastic. You can bring your own alcohol but they are also licensed. Prices really good will definitely be back thanks!

Many curry houses fluctuate in quality over period os time (in my experience) but Bhujon has been the most consistent by far.I never feel that bleurgh from additives and salt after eating there like so many curry houses make you feel.Personally love the interior. Roomy and airy and good for large groups. Nice artwork.Have had the odd issue with slow service, but can put up with that if the food is worth the wait.Also had wrong dish on a couple of occasions. Once was a take away and they rectified it very quickly and told us to keep the wrong dish. It was something I wouldn't have ordered and turned out to be delicious!!On the other occasion I was at the restaurant and too busy talking to realise I wasn't eating what I ordered, but I 'm sure they would've been gracious about it if I had raised the issue.Don't visit so often as we live further away now, but went for a midweek special deal last week which was excellent. £1 charge pp for taking own alcohol is only fair. Look forward to next time!

Had a lovely meal with the family for our anniversary. My chicken shashlick was very tender was served with salad and rice, a huge portion. Staff are attentive and helpful. We will be back !

Restaurant very nice. Nice and cool. Staff very friendly and food was fantastic and was hot on arrival. The starters took a very long time to arrive. Which was disappointing. Otherwise would have been a perfect evening.

I chose Chicken Tikka Mushroom Saag Masala. A real lovely combination of taste and textures. Accompanied by a Naan bread it was delicious. The service was also first class. Always attentive, without being intrusive.

Visited Bhujon on Fathers day. What a disappointment! We had the set deal which was a slim down version of the normal menu. The staff were attentive and the restaurant was clean but the food was awful. Chicken had no flavour and the meat would make Pedigree chum taste good. A real shame as previously I have had a lovely meal. Sadly would not return!

We went with really high expectations but it was very disappointing. The restaurant looked like it was still clearing up from lunchtime. It was messy and the staff weren't rude but clearly tired. So would we go back.......probably not sorry

The food is reasonably priced and the menu extensive. It is particularly good value Sunday to Thursday when they offer a 3 course menu for a set price. Because of the size of the restaurant it is unusual to not get a table even if you have not booked.

Visited Bhujon Cocktail bar yesterday and got to say the food was awful. Their was 4 of us and my friend ordered a chicken balti which had raw vegetables and garlic and he said the chicken didn't tastes right. He's partner also had a chicken curry and found a bone in one of the pieces which was sharp. We was asked if the meals was ok by not just one waiter, but two. Not one of these waiters was interested in sorting this out and instead smiled and just walked off doing nothing. Eventually the manager came over and sorted the problem out and said we didn't have to pay which was very nice of him which is why I gave it two stars and not one. We have used this place on many occasions without a problem, but after yesterday's experience we won't be going back. The chicken pathia was also not good, as it tasted like a tin of tomatoes with sugar in it. They also charge you a pound for taking your own drinks in which isn't much I know, but a bit of a cheek as I don't know anywhere else that does this.

We visited this restaurant early, and thought we would bag a bargain.... unfortunately the food was not to our liking, the basic sauce was very sweet, and my spicy dish, was spicy, but had no depth of flavour.It's close to my home, but I won't be returning.

We ate here on a Friday night when the restaurant was moderately busy. We had a wide range of starters & mains with various breads & rices. The food was tasty, portions good and service cheerful. The bill was reasonable, £130'ish with the tip, and we would certainly go back.

Had a fabulous evening here there were 18 of us and that adds to confusion over meals as nobody pays attention when food comes out as too busy talking. The staff here are very patient and friendly the food was great very very tasty they also have an excellent vegetarian menu and you can bring your own booze which we did. Our food was brought out to us in good time and prices are very reasonable would use here again no hesitation 10/10

Looking for a spicy eat before drinks we settled here...You can bring your own but my friend forgot to tell me do we settled on a glass of wine and an Indian beer.Starter of tandoori chicken was ok but the onion side salad seemed to filled with mixed supermarket salad...and the tawa prawn dish served on a skillet, had a tomato sauce that tasted of passatta with heavy use of onion. Prawn was of good quality though.Some work to be done in the kitchen.

Warm welcome, five minute wait for a large take away order. Various Baltic and curries. All delicious. Super soft nann, a variety of flavours. All piping hot. A little pricey for a take away but thoroughly enjoyed.

Let down by poor service. A big Indian restaurant which serves OK food but is not particularly good value either. There are better choices locally and I would rate this third out of 3 Indian Restaurants in Mere green.

This is the second time visiting here and will be definitely returning. We all had the 'special meal' apart from our two daughters who wanted to share, the waiter said this wouldn't be a problem. Good service, nice atmosphere, value for money, and delicious food.

The offer has been cut down a little with the full menu much reduced but its still a good deal. Food is good and the BYOB option makes the total cost reasonable despite the £1 per person charge

Popped in to order a take away and were told to come back in half an hour which was fine as went for a quick pint in the pub. Half an hour later we went to collect our take away and waited another half an hour. If at the time they had told us it would be an hour that would of been fine but they told us to come back in half an hour. Curry was adequate popadoms poor. Don't think we will be going back again.

We had planned this visit weeks before, booked a table for 8.30pm on a Saturday evening knowing it would be busy. We arrived on time to a look of horror as the manager scuffled away (leaving us standing in the waiting area) to ask one of his staff which table would be free first. Clearly they had over booked (you can see from the elevated waiting area across the restaurant. I didn't mind this mishap, it's part of running a restaurant. What I did mind was that the manager didn't want to admit to this and you would expect a little preferential treatment if your table had been given to someone else.We eventually sat down an hour later, food was served 1hr 30mins after ordering. The poppadoms were soft, the naan breads undercooked in the centre which gave us the impression our dining party was an afterthought. Thoroughly disappointing throughout. Despite our complaints, when the bill arrived, there was no discount or a round of drinks for the time we sat waiting. Eventually got 10% discount from the manager which doesn't cover the disappointment. Safe to say we won't be returning.

Really enjoyed our meal, we had great service, and great meal food was amazing will definitely be going back
