We went to this little gem for lunch. Would love to come back for evening time too - it was just pleasant, easy, quality dishes.Enjoyed it.Lovely area to explore.Very nice to discover a great tapas restaurant.

We had a super lunch here today sitting out in the sunshine celebrating my parents 53rd wedding anniversary. The food was gorgeous and for Tapas really generous portions! The hake was delicious as was all of the courses. Lily looked after us from start the finish.. what a lovely girl! Genuinely interested in conversation and happy to make our visit special. We only live in Polperro & Pelynt so we will be back! Highly recommend 👌

Bewshea’s offers wonderful food and service on a consistent basis. Never been disappointed and we are weekly customers, living with a two minute walk! Such a privilege to have this wonderful restaurant serving tapas AND the best Fish and Chips every Thursday the day to eat in or take away! The staff are so well trained, knowledgeable and polite!

I’d have gone for 3.5 out of 5 for here! We ate here last week and whilst the food was all really nice, for the money we paid and the amount we ordered, I’m not sure I thought it was amazing value for money as nice as it all was! We really enjoyed all the dishes and we had most as we are a large family, but nothing really blew us away. Great for an independent place to (hopefully) be doing well though so fingers crossed places like this can continue to thrive. I don’t think it would hurt for them to have a kids menu and they definitely need a kids pudding menu as at £8 a pudding with us having 4 kids that is a lot of money to spend on pudding Staff were all great and service was excellent

We spotted Bewshea's by chance as we were exploring the local area & thought we would give it a try. Reviews looked good on here and it looked like the perfect little place to eat. We wandered over & enquired if there was a table we could have (with our 2 dogs) we were told yes but the wait for food was an hour so we booked a table for the following evening. When we arrived we were told to pick any table so we chose one outside. We went with their recommendation as printed on the menu of ordering three dishes each, plus "artisan" bread with oil, two coffees and two orange juices. Menu choices very limited especiallyif you are vegetarian."Artisan" bread was just four pieces of some sort of brown granary bread, all six dishes were tiny, my gambas pil pil were stone cold so I asked for them to be taken away & for some hot ones please! Three of our tiny portions were ok, three were really poor. Had to ask for salt & pepper. Pepper was the awful cheap powdered black pepper as opposed to proper peppercorns in a grinder. No staff approached us at any point to ask if everything was OK. When a member of staff cleared our table when we had finished we were asked if we would like to see the dessert menu. I said yes please as I thought at least we may end up with a good dessert at least! Same as the main choices very limited so my husband ordered two Eton Messes at the bar. I asked him to request if our table could be wiped clean. A young lady comes out with a cloth & spray & dabbed part of the table leaving it completely messy and as she did so she asked me if everything was OK. I replied 'so-so". She seemed taken aback and asked why. I told her my prawn dish was stone cold, awful powdered pepper, no one had asked if everything was OK and that we had to ask for the table to be wiped.. Her reply was that ts because outside is not table service. I kid you not! Well you are still taking £70:00 of my hard earned money for tiny portions of underwhelming food & you can't offer any kind of service because we chose to sit outside! You seriously need to review your se4vice levels! After waiting 25 minutes for our desserts I'd had enough. I went to the bar and instructed them to cancel our desserts and please refund me the £16!!! for them. Absolutely awful experience & I begrudge having given them my money!

We visited Bewshea’s most days on our week long stay in the village.Great food,wine and a little live music.We can’t recommend it highly enough.Fantastic staff who couldn’t have been more helpful and kind.

We were staying just down the road and liked the look of the menu. The waitress was lovely and welcoming. Our food arrived promptly and was tasty. The cocktails and mocktails were tasty. Would definitely go back.

I hosted my baby shower at Bewsheas and the staff and food was amazing. The atmosphere was great. Logan had let us hire out the back room and was so helpful with all aspects to the baby shower. The buffet was AMAZING! I would recommend Bewsheas to anyone, it is a beautifully ran business. All the staff we’re welcoming and working so well.

A lovely warm, friendly greeting by the team on arrival, followed by promptly delivered drinks & cocktails. We hadn’t eaten here before! Wow! What a little gem, delicious, fresh food all made on the premises. Tapas was amazing with a great choice and the fish and chips looked divine. Highly recommend this great little restaurant.

Beautiful Bewshea’s! We can’t get enough of this fantastic restaurant! The staff are lovely especially the owner, Logan who always makes a huge effort to make everybody feel welcome and comfortable. (Including our dog ‘Smiler’) The food remains OUTSTANDING. Great quality, loads of choice, nice portions and presented very well. The cocktails are fabulous and my husband loves the Pinot Noir. It’s our favourite restaurant to visit by far! See you at Easter.

A lovely evening. We’d previously visited when the restaurant was under different ownership but this was so much better. Great food with a good selection of well and freshly prepared tapas and generous portions with superbly friendly, helpful and welcoming young front of house staff (Jake and Fleur). Perhaps a bit pricey for out of season Downderry but you get what you pay for and we weren’t disappointed. We’ll certainly be back. Highly recommended.

I really cannot express how fantastic Bewshea’s is! Many places in many towns and cities claim to do incredible tapas and cocktails and underdeliver. Downderry is so lucky to have a restaurant that delivers such a high quality at reasonable prices! Logan and her team offer such a lovely welcome- Jake served us and it was like being greeted by an old friend! Having eaten here just after they opened and throughly enjoyed, we came down again for a weekend away and ate here on the Saturday. Just before we left on the Monday, we decided to pop by for drinks and we ended up returning for food as we just couldn’t think anywhere else we’d rather be! If such a restaurant was on my doorstep I fear for my wallet not because of their prices but because of how often I would pop in for a cocktail and some food. I truly hope the people of Downderry appreciate how lucky they are to have such a fantastic place on their doorstep and support it!

We visited last night for Bewshea's first Fish and Chip Thursday. Super friendly staff, excellent fish and chips and superb wine. The chef even took the time to visit our table to ensure everything was to our satisfaction...Thank you Kelsey, it was lovely. We will definitely be back.

We are fortunate to live two minutes from Bewsheas and eat here often. The food, the staff, the ambiance, the everything, is just amazing. Feeling sorry for the guys who rated it poor - maybe they were looking for a meat and two veg meal - Bewsheas is more exciting than that, and having eaten our way through the menu, we recommend everything - there is something there for everyone and the only cautionary word would be 'do not over-order' ...... you can always order more if you need to! Well done Logan and crew for brining excellence back to our village!

We found this place unexpectedly as we were out exploring the area and just decided to head to Downderry to explore a bit. So glad we did, the Tapas menu was great, a wide selection from the pastures, sea and field. The food was excellent as was the drinks menu, added to that superb service, which is a rarity these days! The restaurant was very welcoming, clean and modern. We had a selection of the tapas and all were top notch, very fresh and so tasty. A little bonus for me as a gin fan, I even came across a new gin, Commander Fox. If you like gin, and an old Tom style fan, give it a try, it’s lush! All in all, a great lunch with great service, highly recommended.

We nipped in for a few cocktails on a rainy night, whilst on holiday we had meaning to try the tapas and just never got round to it. I really wanted to see what it was like as on a previous visit we had tried the restaurant when it was “the conch”. Our barmaid was lovely (apologies I didn’t get her name). The place was quiet but some other tables had ordered food that smelled amazing, so will definitely try next time. We love a good cocktail and were really happy with ours. Will definitely visit again next time we are in the area.

Whilst on holiday we got takeawsy meals from here on multiple occasions. We had a lovely Sunday roast (beef and pork) on a lunchtime and a range of tapas in the evening. Food was of the highest quality and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
