When walking in we-spoke to the only person available which was behind the bar. We said we would like a table for 2 . He said heres the menu go sit over there and pointed to a couple of empty tables . ( no polite banter) After about 10 minutes he came over and asked what we wanted to drink we asked for a specific wine he said haven't got that but i have (whatever) and said we could sample it came over and bashed the glass ion the table . We couldn't belief it (basil faulty out of faulty towers) we just said ok thats fine. He brought the wine over then asked for our order. Honestly the tapas was awful no taste and the tapas dishes were very small compared to normal tapas dishes. Not sure what happened that night but wouldn't recommend it the mermaid across the road does a much better meal 😞

Absolutely superb tapas restaurant. We ordered 8 different dishes and every single one was spot on. Highly recommended

Absolutely fantastic Tapas. A small business providing exceptional food and service. This is a little gem that deserves more people to know about it and go there. Really good value for money and the best Tapas we have had in years, even in Spain.

We went to The Estrella Morada lastnight for drinks and dinner. The food was excellent (patatas braves, meatballs, chorizo, prawns) and great drinks. Definitely would recommend!

Unfortunately I will not be going here again! Our group of 5 found the owner/front of house not friendly or helpful and we felt quite unwelcome. The meal was ok, but nothing special, the squid was so tough we couldn’t eat it, portion size was small for the price, and think all the dishes were all overpriced. Table service was nonexistent, and when we asked for more drinks he shouted from the bar”Same again?” No we didn’t, we asked if we could have coffee, and shocked that he said they don’t do coffee or dessert…. They don’t think it’s worth doing!!😳????!!! Being local it’s a shame as we can’t recommend this place.

Really lovely tapas bar serving delicious tapas. Being new to the area it was the first place we tried and certainly won’t be our last! I just want to eat it all again!

The tapas are all freshly prepared as we could see into the kitchen from our table. You can't book so need to get there early. Very quirky place with good beer and wine and we really enjoyed everything we ate. Some might find the heavy metal music not to their liking but we didn't mind it and it was enjoyable sitting having a drink waiting for our food to arrive.

Came on Wednesday night for tapas. Had the meat board, patatas mojo and chorizo. All were delicious Service was good and right opposite a beautiful beach We parked at the back in the pay and display car park

The best tapas in Cornwall. A relaxed vibe and dog friendly. Refreshing to have no kids in the restaurant for couples on a date night.

Absolutely fantastic tapas menu. The chef is an artist with her dishes. Her husband waits the tables & serves the bar. Small quiet & cosy. Adult only so very peaceful. Wheel chair accommodating, but the loos are down a couple of steps. Very friendly atmosphere & the proprietor is very knowledgeable about the dishes served. I would highly recommend.

First time to contact this restaurant and although the lady made it clear they dont take reservations, I'd have zero interest to go as she was extremely unprofessional and more or less persuaded me not to bother as its a bank holiday!! That a table of ten you just lost this evening

No under 18s allowed. Hundreds of families on the beach opposite at 5pm and the place is deserted. Maybe time for a re-think guys.

A perfect little hideaway in Porth, delivering on the promise of a selection of Tapas and a variety of Beers, Cider, Wines and Spirits. An escape from the chaos of Newquay and elitism of Watergate Bay, where you can relax with a game of pool and do things at your own pace.

Amazingly authentic tapas in an unlikely setting. We’ve been twice now, a year apart while on holiday in Watergate Bay. Every dish was excellent, fully recommended. Proper Spanish tapas not the rubbish of non Spanish snacks many places list as tapas.

Lovely little gem of a restaurant, really nice friendly service with no heirs and graces exactly what a tapas bar should be, food was great as was the sangria and Estrella on draught (would be even better if it was Galacia and not Damm) Rock music was the background sounds but that didn’t bother me at all in fact it added to the experience Thanks to the owner and will be back

Called in for tapas, we had 6 dishes all very tasty.

Food is amazing. The owner works the front of house alone and everything is fresh and cooked to order, so if you want fast food it probably isn't for you. If you care about good food, a nice house, and a chilled atmosphere with no screaming kids around (no u18s allowed), this is the place for you.

Great little hidden gem! We were recommended this place by our hotel just a short walk away. We love tapas and after originally ordering 5 dishes we ordered another 2 more and bread ro mop up the delicious sauces. The scallops and chorizo and Prawns and chorizo were amazing! Have not had any better elsewhere. The owner is friendly but doesn't pester you.

Rang to book a table and was told they only do walking, not a problem we are quiet come down o and we are over 18 only NO children allowed, guess I will.not be going there then with my 7y/o, you.are not family friendly not surprised you are quiet.

We felt like personal guests of the owner at this little bar! The two of us enjoyed a small pitcher of sangria and a variety of hot tapas. Be sure to ask for bread to sop us all the lovely sauces !

Dogs in a restaurant! I won’t be using this place during my stay. Children not welcome but dogs are, this is disgraceful. Kids might be a bit playful and excited but they don’t lick their arses.

Wonderful Spanish tapas in a simple small rustic setting, where the service is how the owner wants it to be. It's a small kitchen producing great fresh dishes so patience pays off when it's busy. Great that it's 18+ only!

We’ve been here a few times now and it is always a perfect evening. The food is just lovely and there’s a great atmosphere. The patatas mojo should be mentioned as it’s gorgeous! We also love that dogs are allowed. Good music and pool table too! Can’t wait to return.

Had a smashing meal here twice. Dog friendly we watched the sun set from our seat! Great food and at a reasonable price! Definitely worth a try if your staying locally.

A great find the Tapas is excellent I've had many experiences including Spain real good feel to the bar and eating area would highly recommend we have already planned our second visit and a fantastic sunset view over the sea

Enjoyed the tapas, never had it before but went back on the 2nd night for more and enjoyed again, nice beers and choice of other alchol beverages, yes made a change and enjoyed it.

Stayed in Porth Beach for a week. 2 failed attempts to eat at this place. First time, kitchen closed by 8.20pm. Second time, weren't open at all on a Thursday night. On a previous occasion we had a great evening with fabulous food. Shame about the unreliable opening hours.

Liked this place. We arrived at 6 on a saturday and there were still a few empty tables. We ordered 7 dishes between 3 of us, a bit of everything and it was plenty. By the time we left it was full, and so were we! We shall return when in Newquay again.

The food is very good but it's absolutely rubbish customer service. The man in charge seems so miserable and isn't approachable at all. Also, it seems like he doesn't care about his businesses or his customers. Today, I saw him in a car park before it opened and he put up a sign saying he wasn't opening today with absolutely no warning. Considering some people travel for miles for a nice meal by the beach just to be let down like that is very unprofessional and unreliable. If you're wanting to try the place, don't get your hopes up.

If you like Spanish food and drink this is the place to eat. I have been on holiday for the last two years at Porth Beach and not really took much notice of this restaurant until last night. Family run business with a unique take on service/food/drinking. I wish it was just down the road from me then I could dine there more often

Really friendly service. Cosy and comfortable bar to have a drink. The tapas was so tasty, garlic potatoes and king prawns, really recommend this bar. When back in Porth will be revisiting that’s for sure!
