The food is fine but your prices are not £9.50. Jacket potato Your large latte is SMALL £3.45 and half is froth Not very good value at all. Maybe a mug would be better and how about some hot water for the tea!

We had lunch steak pie chips and vegetables. It was the worse steak pie I have ever eaten out . Only 4 pieces of steak in a pie dish of disgusting thick jelly like substance assuming set gravy. The 4 pieces of small steak just tasted of salt . For a price of over £12 never again

I ordered Quiche of the Day, Spinach and Mushroom, with “Gourmet Chips” and salad garnish. The small piece of Quiche felt like it had been reheated many times, the pastry was thick and tough, so thick that the filling was actually thinner than the pastry base. The filling was also very dry (what there was of it!) and to cap it off I found a piece of eggshell in it. The Gourmet Chips were actually mass produced frozen chips, of which there were 9 on the plate along with 3 smaller scraps of chip. Salad garnish was just a small amount of mixed leaves with a dressing and one piece of red onion. For £10:95 I would expect much, much better. I would have complained but the place was busy and they only clear your table once you have left. Maybe to avoid complaints? I had a nice piece of Toffee loaf cake though!!

Very disappointed and will never return. We’ve been here a few times in the past and it’s been passable (but way too pricey for what you get). This time was the last straw though. We had our three grandchildren with us, and they all wanted the picnic sandwich box. The choice of sandwich filling is Tuna, Jam, or Ham. None of them wanted these options so we asked if they could swap for plain cheese. (Cheese and Pickle is available on the adult menu). The answer was no. They wouldn’t do a plain cheese sandwich for the children. We asked if the serving staff could just ask the kitchen. I think they were too afraid to ask by the look on their faces. They also don’t do crisps for the children, so we ended up taking the crisps off the adult sandwiches and putting on to the children’s plates. We asked if they could do a couple of slices of toast for one of the children, but again, the answer was no. (Toast is served with the breakfasts, so they can do toast if they want to). So in conclusion, £40+ spent, and lots of sad faces around the table. The food is average at best, the prices are very high, and the inflexibility very annoying. No chance of us ever going back.

Disappointing lunch experience. Soup was barely like warm & lacked much taste. Replacement was hot but not very tasty. Toasted ciabatta I think was obviously very stale bread & once toasted could not be broken even with a knife. All replaced with no quibble. The jacket potato with cheese & bacon was lovely.

Went recently for lunch with my other half. It really was too expensive for what it was. I had a jacket potato (second choice of filling as my first choice on the menu was unavailable). The filling was meagre. My other half had a filled ciabatta - the filling was meagre. The only good thing was the coffee. We certainly won't be back in a hurry.

The Jacket potato was also inedible unfortunately due to bring rock solid and it was supposed to be 3 cheese but there was hardly any to be seen! For 3 meals and 3 hot drinks just short of £40 we definitely left disappointed

We visited this weekend to get some plants. Then went into the restaurant for lunch. Noticed the prices have gone up . I chose quiche which came with salad and chips . The quiche looked so fresh, hubby chose jacket potato. Was so disappointed. They actually warm the quiche up but unfortunately burnt it . The pastry was like a rock . My husbands jacket potato was like rubber and couldn’t cut it with a knife. Not like a jacket potato should be. Won’t be going anytime soon. On the other hand the coffee is great and staff are very friendly. That’s what the two stars are for .

Come every week and the food is mixed. With a little more effort it could be nice. Chicken and bacon garlic baguette was cold and chunks too big. A layer of garlic paste was lathered on. Why not pour some fresh hot garlic butter over ? Cut the prices smaller and for goodness sake tell the grey haired women who’s always on the til to smile. We stopped here one very wet Sunday afternoon. The car park was very busy, and with a one way system in place if you spotted a place had to drive around hoping it was still there when you got to it. We were lucky, others weren't. Groups of families were outside debating were to go next as the cafe was packed and they couldn't get tables. When we went through we saw tables were available, just that staff were so busy at the counter, had not had chance to clear them down. We had come for the Christmas Market and to see a friends stall. Not a great area...earlier the roof had leaked and it was very damp under foot. Shame as this did detract from enjoying walking round as avoiding puddles underfoot! Good selection of stalls and back in the main centre, lots to choose from, especially in the gifts and Christmas areas. Will be back when not so wet!

We have been here 2 weeks running and the food was amazing. It’s the little added extras that make the food a little bit different- eg balsamic dressing on your salad. Soup came with crispy pan fried onion, croutons and green dressing. Generous portion sizes, my friend recommended the roast beef baguette or meat pie so we will try that next. Well done to the staff in the kitchen.

At £18.00 it wasn't exactly cheap so did feel very disappointed but probably wouldn't feel so disgruntled if the service had been warmer and friendlier , a smile goes a long way!So all in all sadly I don't think we will be eating here again ☹️

Staff politely showed me to my table and explained the complex new system due to covid19. I have younger children who are phone savvy so not a problem for me. Would imagine older people may struggle. While I waited for my food I observed how overworked and tired the waitresses looked especially due to the high temperatures. When the food arrived it was lovely and served with well manners and smiles considering the struggle the staff were having dealing with agitated customers. Not enough staff or organisations when customers were coming in. Many people were being seated but just as many were leaving because of waiting time. My only real fault of this restaurant was the price of my meal and the size of the portion. My mother and my partner both had quiche, while I had ordered sea bass with crushed new potatoes and Mediterranean roast veg, from the specials board. The quiche was fine (although the crust was a bit hard to deal with), and the price was ok. However, when the sea bass arrived it was the smallest fillet of fish I have ever seen. I’m surprised fishermen are even allowed to catch fish that small. My meal was £10.95 and everything was very nice, but I really felt cheated with the fish. I had also been to this restaurant previously, where I felt I was charged an excessive amount for an egg sandwich.

Visited earlier in the week and had a lovely sandwich and soup combo but noticed a guy at the next table having an awesome looking haddock with golden chips. I decided to return today as they have a “fish Friday” offer of fish and chips plus desert for £9.99. Big mistake.Upon enquiry I was told the desert was Christmas Pudding ferchrissakes! After the festive season people will be fed up to the gunnels with that. With no other choice I just went for the fish. I suspect they were trying to get rid of their stock of Xmas pud.The first offering came with overcooked soft, soggy fat oozing skin on fries that were immediately returned. The second offering was equally as inedible whereby the chips were almost black and in some places crunchy. One bite was enough to condemn them to the side of my plate the burnt taste remaining on my palate for quite a while. I couldn’t be bothered to complain again so just ate the fish which I have to say that although it was slightly overcooked was quite nice. Oh and if you are expecting to play on your phone whilst waiting for your meal, FORGET IT! The wifi is totally useless and 4g non existent in the area.

Used to be the best place to go but if you haven’t been, don’t bother. What a complete let down. The worst place I’ve been in years. The only savour was a Christmas market outside which we didn’t know about and that was lovely. Managed to get a table in restaurant. Wish I hadn’t bothered. The queue was enormous but had kids with us so decided to wait. I had the veggie quiche which was so dry and tasteless , husband had Taste of platter . Ham was nice but couldn’t get his teeth into the bread ,was like rock. Didn’t enjoy it. My daughter had roast beef Yorkie which was burnt at both ends and solid like a piece of wood. To finish this review, we asked for paper napkins but they said they had run out and also there were no teaspoons . We starred our tea with a desert spoon. Not good Beverley garden centre. I did mention the lack of Christmas at the till when I paid for some bits. Didn’t have a great time last time I made an effort to come here so won’t be rushing back. Used to spend a fortune in here. Visited on the 25th June at lunch time. There are NO menus on the tables so the only way to see the food menu is to stand behind a long queue of people to read the black board behind the counter! Not easy to remember everything to then recount back to other guests at our table! The service at the till was incredibly slow. When I finally reached the front one of the ladies serving was having a big moan about other staff members not telling her there was a wait on food, not very professional or at all welcoming! . We paid £6.50 for a soup combo which came with a half baguette with ham. The baguette was tiny with just a few slices of fatty ham inside, no salad nothing! Not even a plain roll alongside it to dip in the soup. We also had a scotch egg which cost £4! Extremely overpriced and small portions. The toilet had a broken lock, the seat was hanging off a hinge and the toilet paper holder was dangling off the wall precariously - will not be returning

What does handcut or handcarved even mean? How else are you going to cut or carve? If it is meant to imply superior quality then it certainly fails on that one. Basic "handcarved ham" sandwich with a bit of garnish and a spoonful of coleslaw (£6.25) small portion of dark brown, greasy and flaccid "handcut" chips served, for some inexplicable reason, in a green plastic plant pot (£2.55). Had I known it was this bad, I would have driven a couple of miles further up the road to The Warton Arms - better food, better value for money and at least they know how to cook a chip. The only reason I didn't rate the place as terrible is that the staff were nice and the toilets were very clean. Never going there again.

We stopped here for lunch as we had been shopping there but not again. The coffee was nice but that is all I can really say. The staff were slap dash and slow. It was not busy but we had to wait a long time for salad that had cold quiche and therefore should not have had to wait as long as we did. My wife had a flat bread which was warmed, but it was neither hot nor cold.

My husband and I stopped off after shopping in Hull. The staff were exceedingly slow, the girl at the till did not seem to know what was what and moaned at all the customers, the food only soup took 35 minutes and the cafe was not busy at all. There were tables that had empty pots on for the full hour that we were there,as the review title says we will not be back.

Visited with husband who is pescatarian and 18 month old grandson. I have gluten free diet for coeliac disease. Child's menu of ham and cheese sandwich and crisps was ok but nothing exciting. We've had cheese and ham toast it's elsewhere. Husbands potato skins were uninspiring. I had gf bread roll a couple of carrot and cucumber pieces with hummus and salad and olives and gherkins on a slate. Unfortunately I have been spoilt by having a much better version of this for the same price in Howden at the Kitchen. The lady on the till couldn't work it and was a bit stressed but service was ok. Just not worth going out for really.

Then spent a couple of hours browsing around the shop. The staff were lovely and friendly. Will definitely be visiting again.

We took my mom and mom-in-law here for a belated Mothers Day treat and were sadly disappointed. Both mons wanted a scone and tea that, when we cut into the scones, were so dry. Both left half of their scone even having layered on the cream and strawberry jam in an attempt to provide some moisture. Thankfully, their pot of tea did provide some well needed liquid to refresh that drawn from their mouths by the sponge like action of the scone.

I have been visiting for a decade, and the food has only gotten better over the years, they are making much better scones and teas than ever. I tend to only go when I get a voucher, the garden center is excellent.

Popped into today for drinks and a snack. I'm not a fan of food being on display uncovered especially in winter when people have coughs and colds (achoo) so that eliminated 3/4 of the offering. So it had to be a cupcake from near the counter which may not have been delivered from a factory like all the others appeared to be. How wrong I was, it was dry, dusty and fell to pieces, the foamy 'cream' substitute on top was akin to shaving cream, tasteless and it's only purpose was to fashion the crumbled cupcake into something I could pick up with a fork to eat. I wish I hadn't in hindsight but didn't want to take it back because the service was bordering on ignorant. The more mature lady who served me gave me the impression she'd rather be outside having a cigarette, but her demeanour could have pointed to the fact she may have given it up and wasn't having a good day. Not a warm reception to a valued customer, nor one I will be going back for. I've been here before and to be honest it's always been a poor experience, drinks are generally ok but the food is just abysmal. Rest of the garden centre I would describe as 'beige' there's a lot of stuff but nothing done exceptionally well...just plodding along. I won't be frequenting this cafe again, sorry but your loss Beverley Garden Centre

We had an excellent Sunday lunch with a good variety of vegetables and great yorkshire pudding, there was a good helping of meat enough to satisfy any appetite, we did not have a long wait even though they were busy. Will go again

Nice cafe sometimes have a long wait. Soup is always good on a cold day, plenty to choose from. Always clean and tables are spaced out so not on top of each other. Reasonable prices.

This is a locely well stocked garden centre and excellent for chrostmas decorations this time of year. Yes- it is all good quality but still considered to be expensive. The same can be said for the cafe. Toastie and coffee for two just under £20 is alot of money in a garden centre environment ! Sandwiches did have excellent quality ingredients and were not skimped on filling. Theu were verybusy attine ofvidit and a 25 minute wait time for toasties meant coffee finished long before sandwiches arrived. Staff were very pleasant and friendly.

Called in whilst visiting garden centre. The garden centre itself is excellent but the cafe left us somewhat disappointed. Things seemed prepackaged - ie salad garnish with a little plonked on a large plate with a very round and orange scotch egg ! Cakes on display had seen better says and looked rather old, tho I am sure they will have been within their sell by dates. Seemed very expensive for very average food. Staff seemed over busy- not sure why. Tables could have been cleaner- residue from previous guests.a disappointing visit.

Popped in for a quick bite of lunch,, wish we hadn't of bothered to be honest,, over priced and not much of it in the way of food,,,,, the salad was all precut and put on plates with its main, ( sausage rolls or quiche or pastie) but the salad was very poor my wife went and had her salad changed,, plenty of selection but sadly priced to high.Won't be back.

I had chicken caesar foccacia, which came with salad and coleslaw on the side, which was delicious. Think it was £7 something, which sounds expensive but it was a full plate. You can sit inside or out.

Haven't been for a while but have been many times and usually enjoy, however the cafe has had a makeover and the prices have increased. My wife had a tuna & pepper sandwich, which was massivwe. I had a BBQ beef metzaluna-not heard of this before, so decided to try it, as I love BBQ anything , but it was bland-I could not taste any BBQ anything-the metzaluna was like a flat bread and was Ok but a bit hard at the join. Don't think I would have it again. Hopefully it was just what I ordered and next time the meal will be better. Service was still great.
