Bethesda Chip Shop in Gwynedd

Ordered at 9 on a Sunday night, pepperoni pizza and a half pounder cheeseburger. Arrived in less than 20 minutes, food was cooked bang on.

Excellent. Good is always hot and deliciously fresh.

Placed a large website order (7 people) in the last few days, was horrified by the food as previously given good recommendations. Some of the chips were undoubtedly left over from lunch time or previous day. They were dried, shriveled and tasteless. Sausages not much better. Some chip portions were better than others. My son felt sick half way thru sausage and chips and refused to eat the rest. Fish (cod) was mediocre at best. Only food which was vaguely nice was the kebab meat but had excessive amounts of chilli sauce on it. Won't be returning. My family lives locally too so they won't be returning either

Friendly and attentive service. Very nice fresh cod and chips... just the right amount of batter and nicely cooked handcut chips.

Good selection of fast food open until 10.30pm. Staff friendly, good size portions and quick service. Cash only

Went with boyfriend, they were polite. We had fish, battered sausage and chips. no complaints about fish and sausage however, chips went in soggy and came out soggy. All I can say.

Were shall i start ordered a delivery this eve arrived freezing cold wrong pizza so rang to tell them and was met by response of well u dont live round corner love which i appreciate however should not be stone cold or if they feel that food cant be delivered at least warm then dont deliver to outer areas and ended call on what u want me to do about it rude!!!!

Friendly staff, GREAT food. Amazingly tasty and non-greasy fish&chips! Definitely recommend and will be going again for my naughty treat!

Not gonna lie, looked at the menu and thought: no way. Whenever theres a big, varied menu I think they cant pull it off, it must be bad. But we've worked our way through quite a few items, and can safely say that everything is BEAUTIFUL. It is always cooked perfectly, hot and tasty. My favourites are the wraps with some chips, and my partner loves the pizzas - they are the nicest pizzas going, not bad for a chip shop! The fish was perfect, the burgers were perfect, the kebabs were perfect, hell even the onion rings were perfect. You can't find a better catch-all takeaway anywhere. Always a lovely service too, we find it hard to abstain from ordering from here. It's addictive, but in a very good way. No doubt they will have another order from us by the weeks end... Its THE BEST!

Ordered food over the phone for delivery. Advised it would take approx 2 hours. Arrived cold I mean stone cold!!! Spoke to the shop who were uncooperative said would do better next time even though food was unedable!!!! No help at all, all food I the bin £40 down, and the oven on!!! Shocking behaviour and will never order again

Wow we are on holiday here for a few days staying in the Ogwen Bay Caravan park wanted a takeaway so. We ordered fish and chips from here. He delivered to us and we did a bank transfer as we didn't have any cash on us. Brilliant service, good was lovely and hot and tasted really good. Thanks guys.

Kebab delivered cold, forgot the sauce and the Pita bread came separate, chips also cold and like cardboard. Apparently just been taken over by best kebabs, what a shame

Portions are large ! We had fish and chips the fish is gorgeous. The chips were good again a large portion but some of the chips were scrappy. They are open most lunch and evenings would definitely return for the fish!

Had a potato scallop ..whilst it was very nice. I wasn't offered salt n vinegar, and it was a bit thin. But nice none the less.

Total incompetent work force. Waited 20 mins for a second batch of chips to be made to then be told I had to wait for fish. Only one large order in front of me.

The best old fashioned fish and chips I've had for a long time! Prime cod, large and fleshy, in a crisp yet moist batter, with wonderful greasy chips wrapped in paper - just how it should be -always! I've been to Bethesda twice now and this is a must have moment

Ordered delivery from here 1 mile away and had a call to say the food was here 20 mins later and 4 or 5 phone calls to the shop and driver and the food eventually arrived Luke warm with not even an apology or discount. If I was ever down here again I would never use these

Picked up a take away whilst staying in the village. The food was cooked to order and very fresh. The fish was huge and really tasty. Got a free garlic bread. Would recommend.

The delivery guy tried to rip us off,our order came to 26 pounds and he told is it was 40 ! Won't use them again as pizzas were burnt and the lamb was like chewing gum.

Place your order and delivered within 30 mins always hot and well cooked. Lovely for fish n chips, doner kebab, chicken kebabs and a variety of pizzas.

We were looking for something cheap, cheerful and quick after a late slot at Zipworld and stopped here for fish and chips that we then ate in the car. Guy who served us was friendly, service was quick and supper was tasty - massive fish, chips and mushy peas - yum!

Don't normally rate chippys but this one was excellent. Nice, thick pieces of cod, decent chips, everything very tasty & reasonably priced, and all delivered cos we spent more than a tenner between the three of us. Can't knock it!

I wouldn't normally go here as a first choice, however it does do good pizza which in some cases I've needed to rely on when all else was closed. Has never disappointed in these circumstances so is possibly worth more than I've rated it.

We found this little gem purely because our local chippy was closed. We tried another in the next village (also closed) and were about to give up when I had a look on TripAdvisor to find somewhere - anywhere - we could get fish and chips for supper....please note we aren't regular fish 'n' chippers but, having just arrived back at a dreary Liverpool airport from the heat in Spain - and having missed the supermarket, given Sunday opening hours - I had a real hankering for the good old British favourite.We were not disappointed. The outside of the building really does not do justice to the delicious food. Freshly cooked, extremely large and delicious cod, and the chips were amazing. Super large portions and we scoffed the lot as soon as we got them home. I would definitely recommend to all weary travellers, and we will most certainly be visiting again soon.

Tonight I'm always usually happy with the kebabs very tasty lamb but tonight I was very disappointed the meat wasn't of the same quality and was cold also very little salad really sorry I've had to write this review hopefully will return to the old meat

No habiendo visitado Bethesda en una de nuestras muchas vacaciones al norte de Gales he usado tripadvisor para encontrar un lugar donde comer a nuestra llegada. Leer los comentarios del chip Bethesda Tienda decidimos visitar. Sí, la porción de chips era enorme, pero que es donde tengo que parar de acuerdo con otros asesores de viaje. Mis hijos no estaban impresionados y ni mi marido y yo una ventaja eran las patatas fritas no estaban tan bien grasiento, hecho allí. Toda la comida que había no era caro, pero cuando nos come, tome en consideración lo que borro, la comida no era buena relación calidad-precio. Nuestra búsqueda de un buen pescado y chips continúa en el norte de Gales.

Good value take away shop and very good portions. Does have a good variety menu and open most days of the week

Recientemente visité Bethesda en Gwynedd cerca de Bangor. Una maravillosa estancia, me alojé en el número 24 en la calle alta, esta fue una cama de aire y desayuno. Este fue dirigido por una familia, la familia tiene conocimientos de escalada y Joe, el dueño me llevó en una escalada nevado hasta las montañas. La comida era un menú vegetariano de primera clase y tenía una variada selección de verduras locales. El hotel está muy cerca de todos los servicios locales y tenía un ambiente muy feliz sobre el lugar. Sin duda me alojaría aquí de nuevo.

Well worth a visit food always hot and freshly cooked all the time . Proper chips not them paper thin ones that blow away when you open a window . friendly staff and they deliver

Takeaway (and possible delivery) only.Went here after a few beers across the road. Staff were very friendky and chatty talked about their families and where they were from Turkey and Hinkley.Portions of chips were huge, can't remember the cost as had had a few beers by then but know I could eat it all there was that much.

They do the most amazing Fish and chips. So good that we drive down from bangor to Bethesda just to buy them, park up by the river and eat in car. The staff have been very friendly too. Sum it up - friendly, affordable and Delicious !

So impressed! Didn't have high expectations as a decent gosh and chips is so difficult to come by, well the fish was beautiful! Cooked freshly for us. And the chips! Well 2 large portions were enough for 6 people!

What do you usually get in a, Fish and Chips?,the cheap Basra(vietnames,fresh water) fish!not here its Cod or Haddock!and a good portion of chips!

The chips here were like sea side chips, really crispy and light.... yummy! And the staff really friendly and chatty.
