Went here on our last night got fish and chips the fish was massive generous portion of chips and it was delicious quick service very clean and lovely staff definitely worth going to and we will be back in summer for more fish and chips 😀

Our tenth visit over the summer, very nice place. Crispy batter, quality pie, fresh produce. Well organised and clean place. The best fish cake I've ever tasted.

Lovely local fish and chip shop in the heart of Harlech. Reduced opening times currently. Few people waiting for their food when I arrived which is fine as fish cooked fresh when ordered. Did not wait long to be served by a friendly chap with a lovely smile. All three staff were very friendly and my order was taken and served up in no time at all. Nice waiting area to stand whilst waiting for your order. Clean and tidy. Would recommend 👌 If possible cash is preferred due to costs of using chip and pin machine. However ok to use either.

Lovely friendly welcome on Saturday evening. Ordered cod and small chips with mushy peas. Lovely large portion of cod with crispy batter and the small portion of chips were the perfect amount. Chips tasted clean and not greasy, mushy peas lovely too. Shop looked clean and tidy, along with the range and behind counter. As a local business they do prefer cash due to high card charges but do accept card also. I enjoyed very much 🙏🙏 Would recommend

Visited twice in a week for Gluten free fish and chips, to be turned away on both occasions. Why advertise gluten free options and have them on your menu if they aren’t available. Luckily we went down the road to the Caddy Cafe, where they had gluten free options available with very friendly and helpful staff.

Great large cod. The large chips same than other places the small chips.

Found it by accident while in harlech the fish was the best I've tasted in a long while. So nice drive 6 miles from talybont the next evening for more. superb.

Went twice this week for fish and chips while staying in the caravan park down the hill, both times didn’t disappoint! Massive fish for £7 and very tasty chips, a good treat for a tenner a head. We always look forward to going back when we stay in Harlech!

Not sure about all the bad reviews complaining about portion sizes, went today and everything was fine. Had fish, chips and mushy peas and it was great! Fairly priced, decent sized portion and it was tasty. Batter was a bit greasy but that can be resolved by changing the batter mix - no Biggie The only downside to this visit was that they don't do scraps. I don't understand how, it's literally a byproduct of frying the fish, or anything that's been battered. You can even pour some batter directly into the fryer and get scraps. But that's the only downside

Hands down one of the tastiest chippies we've ever had, cod was fresh and the batter so light and the chips were fantastic too. Prices were on par with other chippies near the sea but with the taste these were totally worth it! Highly recommended to anyone passing through or staying in Harlech!

What a Chippy food was fabulous and fresh . Ordered gluten free fish and chips (large one) kids portion is the small one. Just ring half hour before so gluten free can be cooked fresh. My treat on a week away it never disappoints. Price wise it is what it is and you definitely get a good feed .

First fish and chips in very long time and very welcome! Friendly service and reasonable prices. A basic gluten free range with care taken to prepare it without cross contamination. We will return!

This fish is very good tasty and fresh the peas are also very good as is the gravy the chips were a bit dry but the fish made up for that so it's a 5 for me

I'm afraid that I have to agree with others about the portion size of the chips and the chips were not very nice, fish was good though - the TERRIBLE thing was that they were served in polystyrene container grrrrr

Great fresh fish and chips, brilliant service

Due to mixed reviews I didn’t know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. The portion of chips was tasty and neither measly or gargantuan - albeit there were lots of 'bits'. The fish was cooked very nicely and was larger than average. At £5.50 (Sept 21) it was about what you would expect to pay; no complaints there. However I decided not to chose the gluten free option as at £9.50 (!) I thought it would be healthier, both physically and economically to just remove the batter. My local chippy offers gluten-free at no extra cost. The staff were neither friendly or surly but betrayed the normal world weariness on display in similar establishments. Overall good enough to go back.

These were the worst chips that I have ever purchased,they seemed to have been cooked earlier and warmed up they were that bad,if we had been closer when we opened the bag,we would have returned them by slinging through the door,disgusting crap.

fish was tasty but there was a quite a lot of soggy batter. Chips were nice. I was reliably informed the curry sauce was the tastiest curry sauce ever.

Visited here after a day at the beach and a walk around Harelech. Fish cooked to order. Excellent food and portion size are generous, value for mondey, well worth a visit and planing your day aroubd their opening hours whuxh are 5pm - 8pm. A perfect end to our day out.

Having recently bought a holiday home in Harlech, we called in here for the first time tonight. Not much to say really. By far the best fish and chips we have eaten for years. The fish was perfectly cooked, as were the chips. And the mushy peas were proper mushy peas, not the bright green watery mush served by some chippies. Thank you for a delicious meal. We will definitely be back.

Really disappointing fish and chips. We visited at about 5.45pm with our children to pick up a post-beach takeaway. The shop opens at 5pm so we assumed that the food would be freshly cooked. Not so, the chips were clearly leftover from the day before- tough, chewy and flaccid, rather than the fluffy, fat chips with the crispy edges that you expect in a seaside town.The fish was very tough, over cooked and dripping in a thick layer of greasy batter.The sausages were okay for the children, but of fairly poor quality and the chicken nuggets were rock hard and inedible for a three year old.Fish and chips at the seaside is not a tall-order and should be a real guilty pleasure. Unfortunately the only guilt I felt this evening was for walking straight past the pizza and kebab shop- which was packed with people and smelled fabulous... Ah well, perhaps tomorrow...

Was looking for good fish and chips by the sea! What a let down! Old floppy chips all 10 of them and the greasiest fish I’ve ever had. Threw the lot in the bin and when I worked out the price had also been charged a £1 extra must have been for extra grease.

Fantastic chippy and best gravy I had in a chippy ever. Friendly staff . Shame opening times are short. Could do with a little bit more advertising as only found it by accident. Shame as it couid be very good. Not the cheapest chippy

Had two lots of cod and chips and two lots of battered sausage and chips. Lovely, hot food and reasonably priced. Will visit again this holiday.

You can't call yourself a chippie and be shut at lunchtime. Their opening hours are only 5 to 8 which is a scandal in a one horse town like Harlech with limited eating options. I was looking forward to cod and chips and to make matters worse they have a sign opposite the main car park stating that they are the best chippie in Harlech. The sign should read : "come and eat here if you are lucky to find us open".

We have used this fish and chip shop a few times and found it consistently good and reliable. The fish is always cooked perfectly. The chips are good but not outstanding. The chippy does have limited opening times so best to check first, especially out of season. If you are in Harlech then we would recommend this as a good place to get your evening meal. The staff are friendly and it is reasonably priced.

Got a cracking portion of fish and chips here, cooked to order, delicious fresh cod cooked to perfection with a gorgeous portion of chips and mushy peas on the side. Could almost have gone back for more. Beautiful!

Nearly didn't visit here after the negative reviews, but what a surprise. Large family order of fish, chips, chicken breast. All cooked to perfection and served with a smile. This was when the customers were queing out the door. Well done

Very friendly staff who want to help. Fresh cooking of fish is a delight but never liked the chips and now cook our own potatoes at home with the super fish. Never expensive!

Mi esposa y yo tuvimos pescado, patatas fritas y guisantes. Nuestros ordenó una hora antes. La comida era promedio. Comida de mi esposa no fue muy agradable. El pescado estaba recocido y tenía un montón de carne gris por dentro. Las patatas fritas eran duras y recalentados.

Llegamos a tan sólo 2 minutos antes de la tienda debido a pero recibí una cálida y amable bienvenida y todavía tenía un menú completo para elegir como todo fresco a la orden. El equipo pidió disculpas que tuvimos que esperar para cocinar croquetas de pero bien vale la pena la espera pipping caliente, comida fresca muy bien preparado con sonrisas - altamente recomendado

We go here when we come frequently to Harlech. little choice, but the best fish and chips.. Everything is cooked to order so worth phoning ahead to save the wait.

Mi esposa y yo hemos usado este excelente pescado y chips varias veces y la comida ha sido siempre buen pescado blanco, bonito empanada, patatas fritas, buen guisantes blandos. Mucho mejor que el pescado y chip tiendas he probado en el área de Manchester.

Must be the worst Fish & Chips we have ever had. The chips were dry and hard. The cod was small and the batter very chewy. Mushy peas indescribable. Perhaps the food could be cooked fresh for each customer.

Our party of 10 arrived late on a wet Friday afternoon and wanted a quick and easy meal. It was nearly 8pm, closing time, so we made a deal for everything that was left for £20. Great bargain. Fed us all well with some leftovers.

Lo recomiendo encarecidamente. La comida estaba cocinada mientras esperamos y el personal era extremadamente eficiente. La comida fue presentada en una gran bandeja de poliestireno que mantienen la comida caliente para llevar a casa. Pero lo más importante es que la comida era deliciosa y tuvimos 5 bandejas vacías. El bacalao era excepcional. Recomiendo probar.

Fuimos buscando un "fish and chips" después de un largo día de viaje a Gales para nuestras vacaciones. Su letrero decía que iba a cerrar en unos 15 minutos, pero había una larga cola dentro, así que nos unimos a ella. Los pedidos para que el personal se podría preparar la comida fresca y para ayudar a reducir el tiempo de espera. Pedimos pescado y patatas fritas, que eran tradicionales porciones enormes y el más sabroso bacalao que he tenido en mucho tiempo. La cola siguió creciendo, por lo que no cerraba en tiempo!

Aunque el pescado era sólo Cod (estamos de Grimsby y comer eglefino), el nivel era muy bueno y recién fritos a la orden, que siempre es una buena señal. Sabemos que nuestra pescado y patatas fritas y recomiendo encarecidamente este llevar. La ventaja era comer pescado y patatas fritas, con una gran vista mirando al otro lado de la bahía viendo la puesta de sol. Qué manera de terminar las vacaciones de una semana en Gales. Gracias a todos por la recomendación del banco y la vista.
