Great fish and chips every visit! Would definitely recommend

I visited here on the back of other reviews, however I left really disappointed. The chips were overcooked and dry and the chicken burger was left due to the way it was handled by staff. Hand hygiene does not exist with the staff here, particularly the older woman whom I watched time after time putting her fingers either in her mouth or wiping her nose on the back of her hand. Do not recommend this place and will never visit again in future.

Busy when I arrived but served very quickly. Had fish and chips. Fish was freshly cooked and very tasty. Good portion size.

Closed with no prior warning! Regular visitors to the area and frequently pre-order online for ease of collection. This time however ordered online, turned up to collect and the lights were off with a note on the door stating they were closed. Easily could have been avoided with a simple notice on the website or a Google account update. This won’t stop us from using them again, just a heads up and a pointer that a heads up wouldn’t have gone amiss.

We called in and had 2 fish meals, looked good one had curry sauce which was OK but the other had mushy peas which were super salty. The chips were acceptable but the fish tasted weird, supposed to vbe cod or haddock, had a funny tang, wish I hadnt eaten it as ended up feeling sick and bad stomach for a few days. Place seems to have gone down hill since last visit, staff seemed have hearted. Not a patch on the Pwllheli branch, which we went to in tbe autumn.

Only received half the order when opening the bag at home, when we called to explain they refused to give a refund for the food we hadn’t received, but would allow us to go all the way back in the rain to wait all over again for them to cook the rest of the order, the food was cold and dry, they gave the smallest portions the first time round and even smaller the second time (meant to be large meal deals!) the chicken tasted strongly of fish! 🤢 and on top we were met with rudeness & no apology as though it was our fault and not theirs! 😅 wouldn’t recommend this place at all unless you like fishy chicken and low quality service and servings hence the 1 star review.

Terrible place. The 10 chips they deliver calling it a "portion" is a joke. Total rip-off.

As one of the only places open in town this was a nice cosy find. Staff were polite and helpful. There were children’s options and a highchair available. All food was reasonably priced and freshly cooked. Only downside was no baby change available.

Delicious fish and chips, nice size portion hot and fresh. Thank you after a challenging snowdon climb. Accommodated myself and 7 family members very well.

We were a group of 40 and the two ladies at the counter took great care of us, small chit chat and even giving us advice on how to climb snowdon. Must try their tartar sauce

Amazing service and amazing food!

We are a stones throw away from these guys and I pop in almost ever week. The staff are brilliant and the range and quality of the food is superb. Keep up the great work guys

Fish is a bit small than I would imagine. Taste of vinegar and salt is good. 2. Service - friendly staff 3. Serving time - 10 mins 4. Affordability - cheap 5. Atmosphere - clean

Spent a weekend in Llanberis climbing Snowdon. Fancied chippy tea we can safely say the service from the order taker was exceptional I think she was the manger, sorted out an issue excellently. The food was well cooked and tasty fantastic!!!!

Lovely place for fish and chips with good quality food all at a good price as well. A few tables and chairs inside makes for a good atmosphere if you don't want to take away. Quick and friendly service and would highly recommend when in the area! Will be coming again that's for sure!

We stopped by and had a fantastic meal, really good value, £9.95 for the fish meal, piece of fish, chips, pot of sauce/beans/peas and a drink. Fresh and tasty!

Bin in corner overfilled empty chip boxes on floor while waiting for food other customers put their used cartons on service counter just before our food was served no wipe down whatsoever then chips were very greasee nothing compared to the Porthmadog shop whi h is worth the vist please keep your eye on the ball john

Snackbar met vriendelijk personeel maar matig eten. Friet was veel maar erg vettig en zompig. Kip was flauw gekruid en erg vettig.

Not a great as I anticipated. Haddock was very thin and greasy in the batter. Chips ok mushy peas and sausage were nice. Pricey for what it was.

Comimos fish and chips y se notaba que el aceite está ya demasiado usado. Creo que si cambiaran el aceite más seguido estarían mejor.

Nice chip shop. We ordered online and then collected. A few things on the web site were not actually available when we went to collect, but they swapped for other items.

I normaly do not eat half of the batter on a fish from a chippy!, but here the batter is so crispy and delicious I munched it all. The fish and curry is the best I had in years. Chips were also good. Looking foward for the next visit

Amazing fish and chips, much needed and wanted after a day in the mountains! Had to wait in a queue for a fair while to order and then food is prepared to order so waited again but it was worth it. Staff friendly. Portion sizes were brilliant.

As a family we ordered a range of traditional chip shop foods. All were good quality and the staff friendly. In particular the batter was lovely and crispy on the fish and the chips were lovely and crispy also. Wouldn't hesitate to return and will be the go to fish and chip shop in future.

Fish, chips, mushy peas and a can of pop for £9.95 - you cannot beat that and it was delicious. Where I lie, a decent battered fish is just shy of £10. Yes - TEN WHOLE UK POUNDS! I walked in on a Tuesday night. There were a few people ahead of me in the queue but it was moving fast. There were four staff working and all of them appeared to be about 16. I was a bit worried. I needn't have been. They had a slick system and I had my order withing minutes. It was great fish & chips, the mushy peas were proper chippy mushy peas and my can of Tango was, well, a can of Tango. Picked my bench by the lake and enjoyed my tea.

Never have regular cod when we have visited, its always regular haddock or a large cod, never have regular cod. Also, ketchup sachets are 30p 😬

Food ok, bit dearer than other chippys but it is in llanberis. Found attitude towards customers at closing as bit off, take orders and then try refunding as run out if chips 🙈

F A B U L O U S! I live locally and know this is the best place to eat in the village. Great fresh fish, delicious chips peas etc. well priced, lovely staff. Well worth queuing up for in peak season!

Food nicer if you go in the evening but they'll have ran out of certain things. I wouldn't sit in as it's very unnerving when it gets busy.

Staying in Llanberis for a few days. It was busy but staff had it well organised. Friendly staff and quick service. Fish and chips were gorgeous.

Best fish and chips I’ve had for ages. Food was freshly cooked and the staff were great! I’m from a seaside town and I would highly recommend this place!

One of the best battered fish I have in UK, very freshly made, the gravy was also very nice and not too salty. The staff are very friendly and tried to clear the queue as quickly as possible. No wonder the shop always seems to be filled with people at any point in time.

Called in for four fish and chips on Good Friday. The queue was outside the door but we decided to wait it out as there were four people behind the counter so we felt sure that the queue would go down quite quickly. We finally left over an hour later after watching chaos ensuing behind the counter and online orders seeming to take priority over the shop full of customers. I’d like to say that the food was worth the wait but unfortunately it wasn’t! The fish was extremely thin, sparse and overcooked and it felt like every mouthful was 99% batter. Very disappointing and definitely won’t be returning to Allports.

Food was superb. As good as fish and chips can get. It was very busy and bit chaotic, but i can't really blame the shop for how busy it was, and i think they did a good job of serving everybody in a resonable time scale. At the end of the day we got great food and didn't have to wait to long so a thumbs up from me

Good tasty Southern fried Chicken, nice chips, plenty of them . Friendly staff. At time of our visit, 15.20, we ate ' In' but we're the shops only customers for the duration. Would visit again and recommend to friends.

Called in this little gem of a cafe and tried their fish and chips. Ate in, was excellent, beautifully cooked fish and non-greasy chips. Best fish and chips we had had in a long time. The staff were great, friendly, super little cafe🙂

Called in as saw a small child eating what looked nice chips, I only ordered a large chips, the lady was very accommodating as I wanted salt one side and vinegar the other as sharing. Well having used Allports on the Llyn I wasn't expecting great chips, but who ever was cooking on Friday 27th January, you need to hang onto, chips dry, no grease and lovely to eat, probably best chips I have had from a chippy in years. Hopefully they will be as good when I next call in

Visited Llanberis today wet miserable day ! Went into allports chippie I must say fish and chips were the best I’ve had hubby had southern fried chicken breast which was delicious ( he’s usually hard to please ) it was the first time for us will definitely visit again friendly staff too 👍👍

We only visited once but its somewhere we will go again, good size portions and value for money

You generally know what you're getting at a chippy. This place was fast and friendly, and the food was delicious. We'll definitely stop in here again the next time we need a bit in Llanberis.

The fish & Chips were nice. Certainly not the best I've eaten but certainly not the worst. The service again was OK. Little slow when taking orders but apart from that fine. My only issue was the portion size. The portion size of the chips was a joke and not enough to fill a young child never mind a grown adult. I would of returned but already drove about 10 miles so wasn't returning. I wish I had of checked whilst at shop. I would not rush back here. But would possibly use it again if in the area.

Excellent food all cooked fresh. Options for vegetarians too as chips etc cooked separately as a good chip shop should these days. Staff friendly and helpful

We are staying on the caravan site 5 minutes from Allports and tonight I had fish and chips and my husband had battered sausage and chips. It was lovely, cooked to order, and stayed hot. Friendly staff too-couldn’t fault it.

Currently staying in Llanberis and fancied chips. My husband and I both had sausage and chips, freshly cooked, tasted lovely and good portion size too. Well worth visiting if you staying here.

Reasonable Chippy but the worst tasting curry sauce ever, no body and no flavour, limited choice but what you get is ok.

You very much take pot luck with this fish and chip shop. The fish can be really tasty and cooked perfectly, or it can be so overcooked that the flesh ends up very thin and takes an excessive time to chew.This also results in the...

Mixed feelings....if this wasn't the only chippy in the area, we probably wouldn't go again. Chaotic inside as it was so busy. We ordered on the app and still waited nearly 20 mins after the set collection time. Our food was left on the side (not in the heated things) and subsequently cooled. The server saw me use my hand to check the temperature of the chips and he offered to do some more....he then threw the other chips back in the chipsbit for someone else 😮

It's a good fish and chip shop. It's the only one around so not much choice.

Chips awesome best in a long time, considering all we get is battered chips in the west midlands, so finding normal chips was a great refresh... This place is the best don't doubt it, fresh food friendly staff clean inside & out... Only one thing i would change salt first then vinegar :) it will help the awesome smell waft down the street and ppl will follow that smell plus it tastes good.

We went in to order some food. When we got back home we realised that there was stuff missing of the order and phoned up 5 time but no answer to resolved this I was changed £24 for the order when I only received. Two kids meals, chips, chips and peas. I this this is shocking and out of order.
