Best Western Compass Inn in South Gloucestershire

Fantastic sunday lunch for mothers day. Excellent service and food !

Lovely venue. Great food, lovely staff.

There's two carparks, one for the pub and one for the hotel but no signs anywhere that I could see!! Parked in the pub carpark, went through the pub looking for the reception, again not very well signed! Found reception at last, all information given. My room was on the lower ground floor. The room was a good size as was the bathroom. The decor was very worn down and dated. Bed was ok two singles but together but one was higher than the other! Wifi is very poor. Shower hot and powerful Evening meal was good A good value menu But not the most over friendly service I've received. Unsure if I'd stay again when other hotels close that are a bit pricey but with better rooms .

Went there for a wedding reception pub could do with a tidy up very small rooms that go from one to the other very much a locals pub

Great value place. We had requested a quiet room and we got it, even though we booked last minute (in Jan). It's an old building so some creaky floorboards and quirks, but the room and bed were comfortable and clean. Not super high spec but a great effort had been made with the decor etc. Would definitely consider staying there again next time we're in the area. Great for a quick overnight stay.

New Years Party,,,, everything was great apart from why did the singer,,,sing auld lang at 11 pm!!! Then stopped, recored music playing till 12, then back on for countdown, then sang,,,you'll never walk alone!!! Come on Compass,,, let's return to the old magic

Great place to stay along the Cotswold Way. You can have your clothes washed here. The food is nourishing.

Lovely staff that were incredibly kind.

Ideal location for a stopover betwix'd South West Wales and Essex. Just off the M4, but a little in the middle of nowhere. Extensive grounds to walk the doggo, who was made to feel welcome. The bar and service staff were great. The rooms were nicely fitted out and were clean and modern. The resteraunt food was ok and good value. Breakfast was nice.

A unique place with a fascinating labyrinth of rooms, halls, indoors and outdoors gardens and cosy sitting rooms. It's beautiful, comfortable and relaxing. The staff are super friendly and helpful. And the hot chocolate there is one of the best ever!

Shower leaks onto floor, toilet leak onto floor if you manage to get it to flush. Otherwise nice room. Missed breakfast as it doesn't start until 8.00 and had to leave by 8 15

Rooms are tired and place is a maze.

Nice food and good location. Can also cater for large family events or wedding reception.

Just slightly let down by being out of stock of some items

We were out on a walk, we popped into the compass Inn for a drink and a light lunch, they accepted dogs aswell so that's always good. The Food was nice. The only complaint I have was the young lady behind the bar, she was so miserable!!! She never smiled, hardly spoke, and couldn't even manage to day thank you, not great customer service skills, it would definitely stop us going in again

Fantastic place to stay, especially if hiking the Cotswold way with your dog. Everything seems new in this place. Homely decor. Clean. Very quiet. Blackout curtains. Great bed. Massive TV. Dog friendly. Amazing dinner and breakfast!

To start the staff are very friendly, there is a mini fridge in the room, the beds are comfortable, but the place is in need of some tlc. The room chairs are not comfortable to try and relax, cobwebs hanging from the roof, the shower is broken and won't stay up (I am 6'2'') so I had to kneel to have a shower, bit of a maze with poor room signage. For me the food wasn't up to much, found it very dry, nothing else around so options are limited, finally be prepared to burn your knees and lower arm when using the toilet as the heated towel rail is so close to the toilet.

We would just like to say a massive thank you to Hayley our wedding co-ordinator & the team. Hayley did such an amazing job helping our wedding go smoothly & our day was just perfect! The bridal suite is gorgeous, the food was delicious & the whole wedding set up was PERFECT! We cannot thank Hayley & the team enough & we would highly recommend! Thank you ever so much from the newly wedded Mr & Mrs Baldwin-Jones.

Was really disappointed with this hotel. The room was a let down. Will say that the chap who served us at lunchtime was really good. Rest of the evening staff were uninterested. They sat drinking at the bar, chatting.

Typical hotel chain pub come hotel, it's neither one or the other. Rooms are adequate, food mediocre and staff indifferent.

Handy for meetings as close to J18 of the M4

Hospitality tray very very poor no milk available 2 tbags no sugar nothing replaced next day either no mirror above dressing table very noisy snowfall during night no grit spread on paths or even cleared no information leaflets in room or menus . Staff very pleasant .

We attended a friends wedding here. The bar staff were very friendly. The food was fairly good. The gluten free food alternatives were of average standard.
