We booked three nights here, with family coming for the middle night. Reception staff very helpful, and I was very impressed that Adam, who I spoke to at time of booking, obviously listened to my request and allocated a bright room. This makes you feel valued as a guest! Lovely bathroom (disappointed no heating in the bathroom but the bedroom was lovely and cosy.) Bed comfy, towels and linen excellent. Lovely dining room with large windows overlooking front grounds. Nothing too much trouble. Yes, the hotel food is expensive for what it is and the belly pork wasn't tender, but this didn't spoil our stay - the steak pie was yummy, a proper pie! More choice would be welcome. The grounds are to die for! We had some lovely walks - so take appropriate footwear!! Ample parking. Couldn't fault our stay and thank you Natalie for showing us some of the other rooms for future reference. We will definitely be returning!!

We have several severe allergies in our family and carefully choose where we eat. Grace, was amazing! She really took the time and gave the care and attention when taking our order. She went out of her way to ensure my family were safe and did not take any chances. Thank you Grace and to the chef who took extra precautions and gave us a wonderful experience. :-)

Great, friendly table service, which is always welcome when away from home on business. The hearty helping of pork belly ordered was a surprise. I’d been expecting but a small cuboid helping. I’m not usually a fan of hotel restaurant dining, but this time it seems that I made the right decision.

Reception a door poor, service non existent. Staff huddle and turn backs to avoid you, they eat and drink in front of you. 45-60mins to create a simple medium rare steak, Over cooked frozen food, meat was uneatable and could not chew. Ordered drinks with jug of water. Water never arrived. children's fish fingers became dried desiccated reconstructed breaded chicken sticks. Sticky toffee pudding was microwaved from frozen till it was a sticky mess on the plate. Ice cream was the lowest quality powdered ice cream you could get. Coffee machine was broken for 3 days so told to buy coffee from bar! Zero nutrition in the meal. Multiple complaints on the night we ate, most just walked out leaving the food as no genuine response from management and staff. Do not take children or expect a quality meal.

I'm surprised Secret Escapes allow this dump to be on their books! I thought they were meant to be selective. Rude and unhelpful front of desk staff. Shabby, grotty cramped rooms with furniture covered in stains. A bath barely big enough to fit a child. The worst was the food. Extremely over priced for tasteless, low quality, frozen microwaveable rubbish. The staff are more interested in laying tables for the morning than serving customers.

Looks nice from the outside, but stay away! Old, unfriendly staff (almost refused to help with heavy luggage as no lift in main building), stuffy, first room was size of a walk in closet with bed crammed in next to window and claustrophobic atmosphere, room change was done with much reluctance to a room that qualifies as such but was super old. They may have a couple of nice rooms in the main building, the rest is just old. The airport hotel I stayed in the previous night was better.

Ok!! The venue was quite beautiful, the room was good, dinner….. well…. The choice was actually hardly no choice!!! And to beat that the prices are so SO bad for what you get, a simple burger and chips with a tiny pot of slaw is £19 Fish and chips £19 Very very overpriced, A glass of wine is going to set you back nearly a tenner!!!! And this is just a basic wine,

This setting is lovely. The interior is lively and well-executed. The service is fine. But the food is beyond dire. For insane prices, be prepared for the laziest, most pathetically underthought menu of your life. If this venue was situated in another country, you can't help but think they would hire a head chef who actually CARED about the food they served. For £19, you get a basic burger, with a stale bun and awful sweet relish For a similar price, you can get frozen fish & chips The wine starts at £9 a glass, for dire plonk. Literally this place couldn't get worse. There are thousands of local producers that the owners could tap into for meat, fruit, fish, but no -let them eat burgers and fish and chips.

The room is dated. We went to spend NYE Celebration. The food was awful. The room we were given had a dirty pillow with stains, and the mirror was dirty. I made the reception aware and went out to grab something to eat, when we returned; the room was still undone. I said this was unacceptable. We waited a while before the housekeeping arrived because they said the housekeeper was based outside. I didn't get it.

The food we had was ordinary and overpriced. Mushroom risotto was pretty dreadful with chewy reconstituted dried mushrooms. Two if the least expensive main courses and desserts of limited choice + two glasses of wine came to £75. Would have given even less score but the staff were very helpful.

Visited due to having a voucher which was going out of date within a week. We had delayed due to the reviews online and had chosen a Sunday to reduce the risk of a large event being on at the same time. Booked a table for 2pm on Sunday through their online app (had tried to book by phone 3 times with no luck). 2pm was the earliest available but happy to eat that late. We checked the website before going and could see there was the option of afternoon tea or the lunch menu (served till 5). Planned on having a meal rather than afternoon tea as I hadn’t been impressed with the afternoon tea a few years ago. We were expecting the restaurant to be busy as we hadn’t been able to book an earlier slot, however only one other party were eating. Arrived and taken to a table and offered hot drinks and no menus so I knew there was some confusion. When we asked for the menu we were told we had booked a afternoon tea which we hadn’t (I have since checked you don’t get an option to state what meal you want when booking on line). We were told that they were having issues with their website and that they would check to see what the voucher was for and if the kitchen would cook a meal for us making us feel as if we were making them go out of their way to accommodate our request for a meal. we then learnt that the other group had also expected a meal not an afternoon tea and we’re having food prepared for them. Our voucher was more than the sum of 3 afternoon teas so would have been a waste. I can’t help feeling that it was wishful thinking on their part as afternoon tea is probably easier and quicker to serve. Once our meals arrived we found the food to be very good and clearly had been available all along as the food arrived very promptly (even the risotto). Staff were all really helpful and friendly. My son summed it up well 9 out of 10 for food but let themselves down with the confusion at the start so would only score a 7 out of 10 overall. On reflection all of the confusion would have been avoided if we had been able to get through to someone when we attempted to call to make our booking.

As management have ignored my emails since staying there, I resort to Tripadvisor. A Premier Inn type experience masquerading as a Manor House! (No disrespect to Premier Inns!) The room was SMELLY! Worse, they knew that before we took the room as the landing windows were all open on arrival. Unfortunately the smell was of DRAINS! The toilet in our room appeared to have been ‘dislodged’. Sadly no staff around to talk to and we had family guests to meet. Car parking was a shambles with commercial vehicles occupying guest spaces. A long walk from the available parking. No lifts, and we are well up our 70’s in age. No staff member offered to take our bags. At half the price I paid for the room we could have stayed in a better accommodation very nearby. Needless to say; disappointed!

Lovely Hotel in lovely grounds, room was clean and comfortable (except the pillows) our pillows were changed when we mentioned this to room cleaning staff, who were great by the way. The bar area was ok, the downfall of this hotel is the restaurant. The food was good in the evening but a very limited menu. We had dinner booked for two nights, the menu is the same day after day, when we asked a staff member about this she said they only change it occasionly. Not good enough when there are only about six different things to choose from. No one took any notice of the dress code in restaurant , also a lot of noise from young children. With a few tweaks this could be a lovely place to stay. The staff were all great.

Top quality and quantity as well! Due to sitting outside we had plenty of time to enjoy the food, scenery and our company. In the past we have had many excellent family meals here in the restaurant. Sadly our last visit was far from good and we will never eat there again. Food was undercooked and was sent back to kitchen, when it finally came back it was the same plate but the food had been swapped round therefore ending up with another person's fish on my plate. There were only 7 of us, how difficult is it to get the right food back to the right person. The complaint didn't end there, when we told the waiter that the food had been mixed up and could he take it all back to the kitchen again, he squared up to one of my family and said into his face 'It's not my fault, I didn't cook it' he continued to be rude and aggressive adding 'You want to make something of it?' - I think shocked is an under statement. This is certainly not the correct way to speak to the clientele. The Maitre d' was most apologetic but the damage was done. Let's hope they've sacked the chef and the waiter but we're not going back to find out.

I stayed at the Chilworth Manor while working in the area. Having just received news that I had secured a new job I was looking forward to celebrating with a nice meal in the evening. The beef cheek took my fancy on the menu since I have cooked this and it is amazing when it is done well. This was to be served with horseradish potatoes and kale. To wash it down I also ordered a large glass of Malbec. Sounded great and I waited with anticipation for the food. When it arrived I could not believe how small the portion size was and asked the waitress if there were vegetables waiting to be served with it as well. No was reply - that was it. It was ridiculous - 3 good mouthfuls and it were finished. The food tasted good but there was no where near enough of it. I am not a massive eater but this was taking the piss in terms of value for money, I was going to treat myself to a good pudding as well but decided against it since for seven pounds for a sticky toffee pudding I was not expecting to get more that a couple of spoonfulls - greatly disappointed and if I ever do stay in this hotel again I will be going outside for my meal.

Attended a Christmas party there in December , food below average, waited 10mins for milk by which time the coffee was cold, not even asked if we would like fresh coffee, hanging rail for coats was totally inadequate, will definitely not be going there again.

The menu is a little limited but the food is very good and tasty, the burger and chips are some of the best that I have ever had.

I took my partner here for Sunday lunch to celebrate her just recovering from surgery. I have eaten here before, but during the week, so wanted to go for a Roast Sunday Lunch. I wont go into the small good points as they are irrelevant after the horrendous attitude I received from your Manager MohammedI requested extra gravy and condiments for our meals and he seemed that it was inconveniencing him to have to get them, even then he still didn't get them until I had to ask again, where he summoned (very rudely) one of the young girls to get these for me. I think you`ll find no training on people skills teaches you to talk to anyone no matter what their job role with such disrespect!I would like to make it officially known that I also don't appreciate that the Manager on duty should smell of alcohol on his breath. Im sure you as a business cant condone drinking on duty, especially a Manager. What standards does this set the other staff???The food was brilliant as usual and the young girls serving were very professional, I just find that one persons attitude etc can ruin the day for myself and my partner.I sadly wont be returning or recommending your Hotel or Restaurant as I would rather drive further to Lyndhurst`s Best Western.

Pigeon, venison, trout, the sort of menu you might expect on a country estate, well-presented although perhaps a little pricey (my dinner was £43 without wine). The hotel would do well to have a plainer (and more filling) menu available in the bar or some other room.If you're staying at the hotel it's definitely worth trying. If not, make a reservation and give it a go, although I found the Chesil Rectory in Winchester to be better value with its early-evening set menu and almost as high a quality of food.

Stayed here with my husband & 2 year old to visit peppa pig world. The hotel is stunning in fantastic grounds. We stayed Monday & Tuesday night and judging from the breakfast room both mornings the hotel is used mainly by business people on those days. As you can imagine a family with a noisy toddler were a little out of place but the staff made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was good with a lot of choice. Room was very big, clean, bright & we'll maintained. We asked for a cot for our son & it was waiting for us. I would stay here again, only fault was that the bar & restaurant food were very pricey. £16 for a ham & cheese baguette! Eat out!

I phoned to book a table a day in advance for a family lunch for three people. There was no-one available to take a booking in the restaurant and the extension line just rang and rang. Eventually the operator said she would get someone to call me back. They did ... four hours later! On the day of the lunch we arrived at 1.45pm (table was booked for between 1.30 and 1.45) only to be met by the female restaurant manager in the rudest of ways, grumbling about wanting to close the restaurant as we were 'late'. We were not shown our table, but had to ask where we could sit; the buffet food was dried out and inedible; the fish starters on the buffet were curling at their edges, only some tired prawns and coleslaw left as all the smoked salmon had gone. Wilting salad leaves. We left 70% of our food on our plates, so bad was it. On returning to our table after collecting our desserts, the main course had still not been cleared away, despite 5 waiters plus said manageress talking together in the corner of the room. We moved the plates ourselves to an adjoining table. Total ill-disguised bad temper from the restaurant staff, white wine not properly chilled, overcooked food fizzling on food-warmers under hot lights, lukewarm coffee, paper napkins, butter melting to grease in the butter dish.Never again. A bill of £61 and disgraceful service ensured we will certainly not go back.

Took nine people for Sunday lunch, eight thought it top class for food/value. Unfortunately I was the unlucky one, I had lamb which was tough !We shall however be going again as I consider that a one-off occurrence. Why didn't I complain ? Because I didn't want to upset the ladies.

Went here for a last minute roast and it was absolutely amazing, ordered the roast lamb and it fell straight off the bone. Service and staff were great, reasonably priced as well which is a plus, would have happily paid more. Will be coming back!!

Food and drink (breakfast offer) were OK but staff were a total waste of time. Took them an age to serve and the rewards system was not working so when I asked for a receipt I was greeted the they were not available.

Trago Lounge is a true culinary haven where every dish is a masterpiece. I've dined here close to ten times, and each visit has been a delightful experience. The breakfasts, rice dishes, and salads are ideal for solo dining, bursting with flavors that tantalize the taste buds. By the way, the Buddha Bowl is a must-try for vegetarians – it's not just good, it's exceptional! The service is impeccable, and the ambiance is cozy and inviting. Whether I'm with friends or enjoying a quiet meal alone, Trago Lounge is my go-to. Highly recommend for an unforgettable dining experience!

Great food, staff were friendly and polite and food served in good time.Would have given five stars, but unlike the other lounges i`ve visited, they don`t give pour and give you your drink straight away, instead saying they will bring it to you, which in my case was when the staff member had finished serving everyone else.
