We visited a few times when we stayed in Westward Ho! Really good choice and reasonable prices. Our favourites were the filled rolls and pasties. The cakes are huge and various. Service was super friendly. Well worth a visit or two

We are on holiday in the area and discovered this wonderful bakery. The food is freshly prepared and everything we have tried tastes absolutely amazing ! We particularly enjoy the sandwiches and bread rolls which are generously filled and all served to you by very friendly, helpful staff. This is definitely our go to place for great quality food and would recommend others to try their delights.

The staff are very nice but a bakery that does not offer croissants because “they are difficult to make” and their suggestion to take a trip to Tesco is hardly what I expected. On the plus side all products displayed did look delicious and the pasties were good

Visiting for the day and decided to get some lunch and rather than just eat from one of the "tourist" only venues on the sea front we wondered just a small way up the hill and found this delightful little shop. All sandwiches prepared from scratch, fresh salad products and my better half ordered Tuna Mayo and the filling was exactly how you would make it at home. I ordered a sausage roll and a pasty and a cake like a Mr Kipplings Fancy about about 5 times the size and a damb site nicer to eat as well. The staff were delightful, cheers and helpful and chatted about the area with a passion. Everything ordered was spot on and would definitely be alocation we would buy from again. Thank you both.

Small bakery with big cakes. We went for a caramel cream doughnut and a rather large fondant fancy and both were delicious.

Visited this bakers in Sept 2018 whilst on holiday. Asked for a traditional Devon pasty. This was the best pasty i have ever tasted and we get a few good ones in Cornwall. Packed with filling , loads of meat.

It is a good idea to get here early. The bread and rolls, cakes etc are fresh and good but tend to sell out as the day progresses. Staff are friendly and helpful. Fresh sandwiches are made to order. A very useful chop

Stopped off here for a takeaway cream tea. For £4.50 you get a pot of clotted cream, jam, 4 scones and knife and napkins. The scones were amazing and huge. Would definitely recommend them. Cakes looked great as well.

Stopped at this bakery for a lunch time pasty while walking the SW Coastal path with the sort of hunger you only get after several hours of physical exertion. Unlike most cheese and onion pasties, victims of successive cost cutting, and which should really be called "mashed potato with maybe a hint of onion and perhaps a whiff of cheese if the chef was feeling generous that day", this pasty was crammed full of onion and a strong, mature cheddar (locally produced, I was told). It has been so long since I had a decent cheese and onion pasty (and not for want of trying), that I cannot even remember the last time. But this one was SO good, it should be a serious contender for a Best Cheese & Onion Pasty in the UK award. Thank you, Bessys Bakery, for an delicious, hunger-sating and altogether unforgettable cheese and onion pasty!

We visited the bakery to select some lunchtime snacks, we asked for a " Cornish " pasty, we then received a 10 minute rant on the fact that it was a " Devon " pasty and that Cornwall was so many miles down the road !!!We tried to laugh this off as a bit of a joke but she was having none of it and she seemed quite offended to a common mispronunciation. On walking round to the play area in the park we sat and ate our food. The " Devon " pasty was tasteless, grisly and damn right awful. The pastry was hard, tough and heavy. I wish i traveled the " X " amount of miles to get a proper Cornish pasty, if this is what a Devon pasty tastes like i will give it a miss.

YUMMY something for everyone a small friendly Bakers that can sell out fast so get there early. Would recommend the Victoria sponge cake as a must have for tea, they do it in chocolate too and I always have to take some back to Essex as they are so nice, be aware if you require some to take back home it may be worth ordering in height of season and they box them for safe travel. Also do great local pasty's and warm snacks

Fantastic rolls, sandwiches and baguettes all freshly made to order. These went down a treat and were enjoyed by the whole family.Their fruit and plain scones are to die for and are responsible for my expanding waistline as a home-made cream tea was the order of the day from my eldest grandson - EVERY DAY that we were there.

I popped in to the Secret Garden Cafe hoping to have a light lunch with my daughter for a special treat - we had been given a £15 voucher to spend and had been really looking forward to our visit. However, it was not the lovely lunch we were hoping for… When we went in, there was a bit of a wait for a table. One of the waiting staff popped out into the garden to see if a table was free there. The older man in the kitchen spoke very rudely to him saying a rather aggressive manner, “you should know if there’s a table free if you could only do your job properly!” The poor guy (who was probably only late teens) looked really upset. While we were waiting for a table, I chatted to another staff member and showed her my gift voucher saying we were excited to finally be able to use it as we had been given it for Christmas. The man in the kitchen then demanded to have a look at it. He said that we couldn’t possibly use the voucher as he only provides laminated vouchers and ours was just on a piece of paper. He implied that we had printed it off ourselves! He then questioned me (in a very abrupt and abrasive manner) for about 5 minutes via the female staff member, wanting to know where I had got the voucher and kept repeating that he only ever gives out laminated ones. I wasn’t really sure what to say! He then asked the female staff member to write down a note about the voucher in their book and take my name and phone number! He said I couldn’t use the voucher until “it had been investigated.” I felt like a criminal! It was also very embarrassing and uncomfortable as everyone in the cafe was staring at my daughter and I! I was then given a menu and told that someone would be over to take our order. I said no thank you, and we walked hastily out. I won’t be back. My auntie (who gifted me the voucher) has been conned out of her £15 so if you are considering buying vouchers from here as a gift, I would say don’t bother, as you won’t be able to use them!

What a lovely coffee shop. Friendly staff, excellent taste in music (Taylor Swift). Clean and bright cafe. Hope small businesses like this come through the energy crisis, would be a shame to lose this type of establishment.

Lovely beachside cafe, great place for a good breakfast. Other than breakfast it's the usual 'something and chips' unimaginative menu. Clean and tidy, toilets across the road, disabled friendly and dogs welcome. What seriously needs attention is the staff, very slow at clearing and more interested in each other than the customers. I asked for black coffee with separate cold milk, which needed much explaining, then got black coffee with separate HOT milk. I had paid up and left and my table had still not been cleared. It's an OK spot but with a bit of effort could be the talk of the town
