Couldn’t recommend the new Honey Glazed Ham, Stuffing, Pickled Carrot and Honey Mustard Pizza more! One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had 🤤 Good food all round. Good service. Good prices.

Sadly the last few times I have been here have fallen well short of expectation. On one occasion, I arrived at 7.55pm only to be turned away as it was too late. The next time we ate, but the pizza was awful. Drenched in oil and undercooked it was a soggy mess. Whoever has invested the huge sum to open this place needs to look at quality and opening hours. If its empty, as it often is, try advertising. I only found this place originally as I was lost looking for somewhere else. You should be able to get 5* in every category. The first time I visited, that's what I gave you.

It saddens me to make such a review, but me and my team (7 of us) thought we would have a treat here after our meeting. Really disappointed. The food was over salty ... and I mean over salty, including the salads. The ingredients were not anywhere near first class. It's clear that you've cut down on the quality in recent months and it sadly shows. Italian food is ALL about the ingredients, and you failed. A couple of the team also didn't feel well the day after. The atmosphere in the restaurant was one of a sadly failing restaurant that has lost its way. Please ... get the quality ingredients back, employ staff and a chef with a passion for Italian food, and please cut down on the excessive salt. I hope despite my feedback, that you view it as constructive. Someone has to tell you that things aren't quite right in the restaurant. Visited lunchtime 18 November 2024.

Amazing pizzas and staff are lovely and helpful in every way. Couldn't eat all of mine so they boxed it up for me to take home. It was a lovely evening

There's always odd vibe in this place. Staff with walking dead attitude apart from one person.

Amazing food, staff are friendly enough but fail to tend to customers, leaving us waiting 20 minutes for the bill in an almost empty restaurant whilst they faff about doing small jobs that could easily wait. Not impressed, unfortunately this is the second time we've been here and this has happened!

I've been here a couple of times because I enjoy the pizza. This time was on a weekend and it was very busy. I'd definitely recommend booking if that's when you're planning your visit. The children's meal is excellent value for money and probably why there are so many families there. The service isn't the best and on each visit I've had to chase the staff up because things have taken so long. That said, it's a good atmosphere, great food and not too expensive

Pizza was OK,asked for no chilli it came with chilli,had brownie for dessert it came hot

Went here Saturday for lunch with a friend. At first things looked good. The girl who served us was really friendly. However it went down hill from there. The drinks took ages to arrive. Then the main course we were waiting about 25min. It was then I noticed that four of the staff had taken lunch together and had made sure their food came first. We ordered more drinks that didn't arrive so gave up on desert and left. Food great. Service terrible.

Greatest gluten free pizza in Hull! Great options on the menu and now dog friendly inside (in certain areas only). A place we'll return to again and again!

Really nice meal and great value, we went mid week so it was pretty empty. Service was very quick and food turned up fast which was good for feeding kids. Kids meal is good value and gelato was excellent.

We chose Bert’s as it was close by to our hotel. The food was amazing, it was freshly made and bursting with flavour. Our children loved the kids meal, which came with gelato for dessert which they thoroughly enjoyed. The service was very good, the staff were attentive and friendly. Will definitely be going again.

Thankfully, I booked a table as we were at Humber Sesh and knew we would need to eat. Having never eaten here before we weren't sure what to expect. We were not disappointed the food was lovely and plentiful. It was a nice atmosphere and staff were super friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back.

Amazing pizza’s, plenty of toppings and a lovely doughy crust. Would definitely recommend and visit again. Service was quick, efficient and helpful!

The overall experience seems to be going down hill. On arrival we were seated relatively quickly. We waited 10 minutes before the staff member came over to take an order for drinks. His t-shirt was dirty and he seemed fairly stressed. He explained there was a 30 minute wait for food, which we accepted and ordered. After an hour and not much communication they said our order had been lost because the printer was broken. Strange as he wrote the order down with a pen. 10 minutes later another apology and finally an offer of a free drink. The food arrived 10 minutes after that and to be fair the Pizza was nice. Although the sides were poor for the price. The wine was bottom shelf at best and very expensive. The toilets dirty. An offer of some discount would have taken the edge off but that didn’t come. Some of the above could be understandable if the place was full, but it was at 50 percent at best. I can’t see us going back anytime soon. Plenty of other options in that area these days.

Great food, love trying the specials, fab staff, great casual dining location.

Our son chose Bert's for his 18th birthday meal and it couldn't have been better. Jake and the team were brilliant in accommodating our various requests, including a table with a view of The Deep, one of our party having a main we had collected from Bert's Pasta and even getting some Southern Comfort for us. The pizzas here are fantastic and the kids love the dough balls. Really impressed with the bruschetta too. All the meals came out in good time, as ordered and with friendly and courteous service. We've been here plenty of times over the years, which was the main reason for choosing it for this occasion, and this really was the perfect way to celebrate an 18th birthday. Our party ranged from 10 to 80-something and all were happy. The staff brought out the cake for us too. Couldn't be happier.

Service was great. Our waitress was coeliac and therefore understood our issue with gluten. The gluten-free pizza was the best we've ever tasted - the dough was not that far removed from a gluten crust.

Complete lack of acknowledgement. Waited ten minutes and still nothing then told unsure how long wait will be, despite 7 tables available with no reserved signs on them.

Excellent restaurant with sea view and aquarium view. Incredibly they have a wood oven and the pizzas are made there at the moment and I must say that for being in the UK it wasn't bad at all. Honest prices, artisanal ice creams and friendly staff. Not far away there are 2 car parks and there is also a path to walk along the quay

Had driven by many times now going to Bert's I ordered a pizza mes ham and chicken. Pizza is baked in a large wooden oven. Heated oven. Pizza came quickly. Delicious crispy base, tasty tomato sauce, the cheese was boring. There could be a little more flavor in the chicken. You can also buy dessert with many different ice creams Pizza filled well so I wasn't hungry for dessert I would love to come again

In a good spot by the new marina. Nice space inside, but wow I don’t think I’ve eaten a worse pizza in my entire life. It’s almost like they use Dolmio sauce on their pizza, and to be clear this is NOT a good thing. Really horrible, almost like something a food hater would actually do. The sauce is so processed and over powering I literally couldn’t taste anything else. We had 2 very different pizzas but due to the sauce they both tasted identical. Sorry but really not good at all.

Nice setting and friendly service. The pizza base is actually quite decent , but the mozzarella used is super low quality - like dominos - and even worse the tomato tastes like dolmio… just replace the dolmio tomato with some fresh san Marzano and you would have solid result

Really small portions. Not value for money . Table left with all plates on. Had to ask for a dessert menu and then go and order while waiter was chatting to friends. Never go again . Don't go if you want a decent meal. So disappointed

While waiting for the ferry I opted to have dinner here. I had my bike with me and was able to store it inside while eating. So saying service was friendly is an understatement. Had Burrata as a starter and a pizza for mains. Both delicious. Pity I didn't have time for a desert. Very nice location.

Seems to have gone downhill. I’ve been a regular at Bert’s for some years but the food and service has slowly gone downhill. The pizzas seem to be cremated these days and that’s on several occasions not just one off. And the toppings definitely less than they used to be. Side salad very unimaginative and expensive for what it is. When I walked in I was greeted with an indignant “You ok?” It was obvious I was waiting to be seated. The coffee was about 30ml in a tiny cup. Think my meals at Berts are over.

Brilliant place to eat. Me and my partner came here for our anniversary and would love to come again. Expensive prices but worth it. Great food and great customer service! So thank you to the staff👍👌

Excellent pizza, waited 15 minutes before we actually got served in a half empty restaurant. Food arrived but they'd forgot the drinks. Servers more interested in cleaning tables than serving patrons.

Visited Hull for the Aquarium and this place was proximal and convenient, the food was, also, tasty and corresponded to an Italian style pizza, the desserts, too, were nice, in addition, to the staff

The service was quick and the server was friendly, knowledgeable and polite. The food and drink were delicious. Not too pricey either. Lovely views outside the restaurant also as it overlooks the River Hull/Humber and The Deep, which on a night, all lit up, is really something special. Highly recommend

Pizzas lovely. Wedges I sent back, I can't understand why they got sent out really burnt. Service was hit & miss...started off really good but then forgot to ask if we wanted desserts. The ice cream is lush. Would I return...........YES I would

A firm favourite - the wood fired pizzas and chip spice wedges are excellent... Just make sure you leave room for gelato at the end!

I had heard of Bert's from their gelato and wanted to sit in and try a three course meal, I ordered burrata, a spicy prawn pizza and tried 3 scoops of gelato for dessert. Starter was served quickly with tasty foccacia bread and burrata, with main following swiftly. Pizza was hot and actually had a bit of spice which isn't always the case when ordering 'spicy' foods at restaurants. Nice combination of prawns and salami. Gelato has a really good selection of flavours which I definitely recommend getting 3 different scoops to try a variety.

Usually come here with work, the pizzas are great, but the Calzones are delicious. It's not usually busy either.

Not that amazing italian pizza with incredible cornicione. Rather a slightly under cooked pizza, with average ingredients. Eatable but not so enjoyable

Came for a quiet lunch today with my partner, had two soft drinks, two number 6 pizzas, potatoes with truffle and Parmesan, dough balls with garlic butter and to finish a scoop of two different flavoured ice creams. Everything was exceptional, I’d go as far as saying the best pizza I’ve ever had. Thanks again to the chef and the kind waiting staff for a brilliant lunch.

The pizza here is decent and the location is nice but I want to say one thing. The pizzas on the menu do not have names and I think that is awful! A pizzeria has to give its pizzas names because firstly it's bad vibes but also it's annoying having to read the ingredients of 16 pizzas. Give them names please!

Excellent pizza, lovely location with a nice view of the deep. They could do with a couple more waiters as we were waiting forever for someone to bring us the bill and desert menu, so I ended up getting it myself from behind the counter! Tables and chairs were also dirty. Great food, just need more staff to cope with running it.

We went in on Friday teatime and it was pretty empty. Friendly staff, particularly the waiter. The numbering system for pizzas instead of names wasn't very helpful. Pizza was nice but it took ages to arrive, in an empty restaurant. Price was ok.

They had very good pizza and salads.

So I had foe a starter a trio garlic bread which is three separate garlic breads Normal, Cheese and Tomato was amazing bbq chicken pizza for my main was so good By the time we had finished, we we're all too full to order desert

Popped in for Gelato after a day at The Deep. Great service and the Gelato was wonderful. Pizzas looked and smelled good so will certainly be back for food when next in area.

Sat on the veranda with a lovely pint to watch Hull Universities 'the compass' projection onto the Deep. Didn't eat but maybe I should. Menu looked delicious.

Really good place. I particularly recommend the Bruschettas, they are absolutely delicious. I had Pizza #5, it was very good. It might be a bit spicy for some people and this is not mentioned in the menu.

My boyfriend and I have just had the most lovely evening here! The food was absolutely to die for, the atmosphere is very relaxed and the supervisor who served us could not do enough for us, I felt so well looked after and can't wait for our next visit. Thank you! :)

5 star service solely down to the waiter Liam. When arriving all the staff where sat on a table eating pizza (could of been a staff meeting) All while Liam looked rushed off his feet but still providing great service, a credit to the team! Food was amazing

Nipped in before going to The Deep just across the road, it was quiet but we had heard great recommendations and the food didn't dissapoint. The pizza we had was great, filling and the menu had something for everyone. Our 18 month old daughter even enjoyed tucking into the kids menu, the server was polite and attentive. We actually nipped back for an ice cream after we finished at The Deep. Which was equally as good as the pizza. We would recommend if you are in the area and looking for somewhere to eat.

Wasn't busy when we arrived but had to go summon the attention of a waiter to announce we had been standing at the door for over 5 minutes waiting to be seated which was met with incredible disdain and a rather rude retort that we will be attended to shortly, and this was with a reservation! Goodness knows how they would cope if they were busy! Not quite sure I'd be inclined to want to rush back there even though the pizzas were not bad.

This place is AMAZING! Both times I have been, I have had incredible waiters/waitresses, delicious, beautiful food, and a fab time. Highly recommend the dough balls with pesto, the wedges and the number 4 pizza…..it was literally a kaleidoscope of taste, and such fabulous staff. Greeted like a friend, spoken to with genuine warmth & just amazing service all together 🖤 Specifically Liam, Megan, Kii & the other lovely waitress who served us the gelatos today, I did not catch your name I’m sorry. Lovely little place just across from the Deep. Popped in here for food with our daughter, whilst we had a drink. I would have taken a picture of the pizza but she ate it too quick. Very friend, hard working staff. Would highly recommend a visit!

Had a table booked for 4.30. The 2 waitresses that served us were lovely and friendly 😊. Who we presumed was the manager or in charge was a little abrupt but it didn't spoil our meal or the atmosphere.

Our first ever visit. Only went out because the weather was bad and thought we would give this place a try. First arrived at 12 45 and no tables available which says a lot. Booked for 2 00 and had a little wander round and came back. Pizza as good as anything we've had and we have tried them all. Atmosphere and service very jolly.

Well on the off chance we popped across the river to see if a table was available for two adults and to teenagers after visiting The Deep, table available and service was swift,efficient and polite, food came prompt and the food was absolutely spot on, catering for gluten intolerance and accepting blue light card the experience was just what we hoped it would be thanks to all the staff we interacted with.

Lovely restaurant, food was very nice. Attended over lunch to a nearly empty restaurant, service was not that quick despite there being as many staff in as customers. To their credit staff were extremely helpful and friendly when serving us but in an empty restaurant it was difficult to ignore loud staff conversations across the room. The food was reasonably priced and the ice cream variety looked brilliant. I would definitely recommend going and I'm sure the issues we experienced are unlikely to be experienced at other times or by other visitors

Really lovely place for a group of friends with children. The best gluten free pizza I’ve ever had and everyone else said their food was amazing too! Highly recommend. Big shout out in particular to Kii, whose service and attentiveness was second to none. Thank you.

I'm only leaving one star as I can't leave none. I've never had such an awful experience in a restaurant. Sat there for an hour after ordering food, for half of that I could see our doughballs and olives sat on the counter. No pizzas in sight, there were 3 teenagers in the kitchen just messing around (I was sat right infront of them) After an hour a woman (I think was the manger) brought the doughballs and some burnt bread over. We said that they had been sat there for half an hour could we have fresh ones she looked furious and stomped off with them without saying a word. At that point point we left as it was 8pm and we were starving so we went to Nandos. This was meant to be my daughters graduation celebration meal. They weren't even busy!! Awful place.
