Service was slow a bit slow and our food took awhile to come as a family of 4. Once the food did arrive, you couldn't fault it.

Lovley place to eat ,staff very friendly and welcoming , open kitchen so you can see your meal being prepared and cooked , highly recommend

I just want to say what amazing service I was given - especially to the young female manager on shift who made sure everything was okay. I came round to ordering my food and the male manager took my order. The food took a little longer than expected but we were made aware of this when we entered and we were completely satisfied because of this. A couple sat near us were not happy, for some reason, at a point in the night (may I say they were very rude to the staff) but the staff handled this excellently. Overall, a big thank you to all the staff on shift who helped make our special night very inclusive, safe, and happy for us both! 😁

Booked on-line, when there was no mention they wanted card payment. Got there only to be told it was card payment! Ordered food waited ages for starter, despite restaurant only half full. After starters, waited almost another 40 minutes for mains, by this time we had drank our drinks, but nobody came for us order more, so I went to bar to order, but was told to wait for table service! Very average food, but wait times were very slow. Will NOT BE RETURNING

Seated quickly & lady greeting was lovely. Young girl serving next table was rude. After waiting 20 minutes & not being acknowledged we left!!

Booked a table for 7:15pm, got there on time to be told we had to wait 5/10 minutes for a table. Food was lovely however the service was terrible. When seated everyone got pasta crisps but we did not, I assumed thats because we are a lesbian couple. They didn’t come check on us to make sure the food was ok nor did they clear the table till we were leaving. I asked for a box so I could take my food home with me, she then proceeded to avoid our area and did not bring me a box. We had to pay online as they were taking too long, which then took £7 more than the bill was. Staff leaning against the bar and not seeing to customers. Will not be returning.

I’m not one for writing a bad review but felt this was needed after my meal yesterday. I love eating out & have eaten at lots of different restaurants. It was a really disappointing meal. I got the rigatoni pasta dish with salmon & olives. The salmon was very minimal & watery & mushy..no flakes in sight, which is how I think it was described in the description of the dish! The sauce lacked any flavour & was a watery, slight tomato sauce. For myself, Italian food should be fresh but most importantly flavoursome. Honestly I have served much better plates of pasta myself at home. When asked if everyone was ok, I did say that honestly I wasn’t overly impressed, to which our waiter said he was sorry to hear that, and that was the end of the conversation. The other 3 people I was with also ordered pasta dishes & were described as passable at best. I wouldn’t say the meals are cheap either, I think my dish was around £17, if it wasn’t for the fact that we were going to the theatre & so didn’t have time to go anywhere else, I would have sent the dish back. Will not be returning I’m afraid. Santi’s is the place to be in my opinion for fresh, authentic tasty Italian food!

Lovely food and really pleasant staff

This used to be a not bad place to eat however have not visited for a while. Decided to try again for a lunch out, however big disappointment salad consisted of a few and l mean a few salad leaves that were past their best, and the pizza was probably the worse I have had.

The food is totally awful. The pasta crisps is super salty and tastes bad. I saw the staff just put the leftovers(the pasta crisps) back into the container and serve another customer. This is unacceptable!! The carbonara is tasteless and the pizza is the worst one I’ve ever had. But the most important thing is the service is definitely bad (excepting the youngest girl). We just simply ask for the bill and the red floral shirt lady just give me a horrible unkind bad face and ask me to wait and she turnout did nothing. We’ve already ask for the bill 3 or 4 times.. and finally we stood up and wear clothes she then ask the young girl give us the bill.. i’m totally feeling so bad. The only 1 thing that I praise is the tiramisu taste good.

Fantastic food, with all 5 customers satisfied 😁 The festive 3 course menu is perfectly priced, and unbelievably filling! Would definitely recommend for a Christmas meal 🎄

Basic Italian chain. Mid week afternoon so very quiet. My starter of chicken skewer was lacking the tomatoes and chicken was just plain, no marinated in anything, but comes with honey dip, description makes it sound better. Pepperoni rustic pizza was nice. Bruschetta starter was …..ok. Spicy chicken pizza was lacking chicken and was quite dry. Service was ok. For the price of £70+ it wasn’t really worth it.

Everything you expect from a large chain. The food was good (a little too salty on the pasta dishes) The service was very slow despite being overly busy.

We arrived quite late, we had prawns on a skewer with nice seafood sauce. My partner had a panchetta and truffle carbonara which was quite soggy and bland. Sweet potato fries and garlic bread were fine. After reading the views and menu we were left disappointed.

The pasta was under cooked and no evidence of a spinach, mushroom and mediara sauce. Just a watery substance at the bottom of the dish. The chicken had no flavour and the Italian ham was over cooked any rubbery. Very disappointed. We didn't get charged but you expect a good meal served straight away. Spoilt my evening.

Firstly, the front staff were extremely rude and ignorant. Me and my friend ordered spaghetti bolognaise, the food was slammed in the table, the bolognaise came with a spiral pasta, which was uncooked and cold , after asking the staff for parmesan cheese, we got a tiny bit in a bawl who which didn’t even have a spoon in it to sprinkle the cheese on so we have to do it by hand, this bawl was also slammed, after leaving the lady at the front kept giving us mucky looks while leaving

Fantastic meal again with friends, our server James was excellent, friendly, always smiling, couldn’t fault him.

Lovely spot in the busy shopping centre. We arrived a few minutes before opening time but staff were very helpful and let us in to be seated anyway. They moved tables around to accommodate us having a large pushchair with us, along with their friendly attitude made eating here very enjoyable and relaxing. Great selection across the whole menu of food and drinks, we opted for the 3 courses for around £22 which is great value. Most restaurants that offer this deal usually have a very restricted choice but we found plenty that we liked on this deal. Drink and food service was very efficient,especially considering we arrived early too. We also thoroughly enjoyed all of our courses, hats off to the chefs. We were given adequate time between each course where the wait staff were great at keeping tables clean and tidy as well as checking in on tables. The whole place including the bathrooms was kept very clean and the decor and general atmosphere of the place was relaxing and inviting. We would definitely return when in the area.

So dissapoint! We was ordering 1 pizza and for daughter Zizi Bambini. For drink we was waiting not too long. But for 1 starter 30min and pizza more 1h. Daughter was waiting another 1h for desserts ( 2 scoops of Vanilia.) More 2h spend there. So dissapoint! Wasnt too many people! Waiters was doing everything else but served us. On diffrent table people was finish to eat as well all dirty plates still was on table. And they bring them another food! First time in Zizzi and last. Not recommend! At all.. italian restaurant? That was not even close to call italian! On our table we had soo clean light! Disgusting!

I was a regular customer at zizzi, but i wont be going there anymore! I ordered the cheesy garlic bread and the campagne rustica pizza which comes with pepperoni ham and mushrooms. I don’t like pepperoni so i ordered it without. Our food finally arrived and i received a spicy chicken and mushroom pizza. I said to one of the staff members that i did not order this and i was told that they would remake it for me. The cheesy garlic bread had an option to have balsamic onions or without balsamic onions. I ordered it without balsamic onions and it came with balsamic onions. My pizza then came stone cold with bits of spicy chicken still on it. I then realized that the chef has just picked the chicken off and threw some pieces of raw ham onto it - by raw i mean the pizza was not recooked it was just large slices of ham splatted on the pizza. After complaining and getting my food taken back to the chef twice I eventually managed to take my pizza off the bill - i wouldn’t have ever paid £15.95 for a pizza that poor. Considering i was a regular customer at zizzi this was a huge shock and i can safely say i will not be returning.

Food was amazing, service was really quick and on the ball since we was a large group. Great options for vegans.

Fabulous service and attention to detail. James and Sophie were outstanding. Attentive, friendly, warm and very helpful. I could tell this team worked very well together and it came across in the service and experience. Would highly recommend! PS James's 'Zillionaire' artwork on the brown paper roll is one example to the level of care and attention the team clearly puts in! ;)

Dined In for 2, really amazing and comforting restaurant, food was really great and not too much but filled us up nicely with perfectly sized portions. Made a special request for a happy anniversary on out desert dishes and waitress wasn’t too sure if they could due to there being only 1 chef in the kitchen but managed to get it done and was a really nice gesture. Absolutely loved it here and will come back again.

It’s my 1st time eating at Zizzi and what a pleasure it was James my server he was wonderful so helpful, I can be funny if I’ve not been and he put us all at ease so we’ll be back Oh the food was amazing too James recommended meatless meatballs for starter and veggie lasagna for my main thank you again James it was delicious ;))

Very poor customer service. They said that they don't have seat for a group of 6 ( 4 adults and 2 kids). Shame!!! ( there was many empty seats though)

I have just today been given the option of how much to tip (10, 12.5, 15, or 20%) for the first time, but as I was buying lunch my guest paid the tip with cash. I was quite taken aback, as this was in England - not the US - where minimum wage doesn't count on tips being given, and the restaurant isn't exactly Michelin-starred. There was a tiny option on the little machine for not giving in to this Americanism, which I would choose in the future if I returned (I won't; both mains were disappointing).

Lovely food here as always, the staff were great at making sure we had everything we needed and were very helpful in suggesting something for my grandma to eat, as she could not make a decision. My grandad ate all her food and was really pleased with the food and service. There was 9 of us in total, 2 children and 2 disabled wheelchair users. The staff made sure we had plenty of room and made our evening feel special. Thanks to all the team at Zizzi Hull!! 5****

It feels like zizzis has slipped a bit - granted, expectations for a chain are rarely high, but the recent menu rebrand has left things feeling rather lacking. The beef chianti ragu had next to no beef in it, and the goats cheese garlic bread only had goats cheese on half of it. Tiramisu was great, service was fine - but there’s an old Baltic saying that a fish rots from the head, and it feels like that here, as I’m sure it does in any other zizzis. A true shame, considering how they used to be.

Visited today as a family, brilliant service from the moment we entered and the food was incredible. Even got the seal of approval from my very picky 5 year old. Will be back soon!

Walked in and was greeted by who I assume was the manager, asked about allergies which we said one of us had, was given the children's menu with activities on but nothing to write/colour with. When taking the drinks orders I was forgotten about, the manager did realise and came back. Food order was taken and I've since found out that allergen information has to be given by law, my partners order was taken and it was noted down about his allergies (very brief note) after eating his mouth was tingling, this usually happens after eating something hes allergic too. My sons starter was brought out with his starter, the reason? His was the only starter so they thought it should come out with his main. The food was nice enough. There was a young server, I wish I'd got her name, she was smiling, pleasant and helpful. Don't think we'll go back again

We have previously visited this Zizzi restaurant to celebrate special occasions and we always enjoyed the whole experience so today we decided to visit again as it was my turn to cook! 😉 We were not disappointed with young James providing exceptional service complimenting the great food and a lovely cool window table. Despite it being busy James and the other staff provided exceptional service with a smile 😁 Thank you and yes we will be returning again 👏

Had a lovely 3 course meal and a bottle of wine. Could not fault the food. The service was outstanding by our waitress Sophie who was so polite and such a pleasant and friendly young lady who is an asset to Zizzi. 5 Star 🌟 all round

Came here tonight for hubbys birthday. Staff was friendly . The place seemed very empty for a Saturday night. Not much atmosphere. Food was nice enough. We wasn't waiting long . I strongly recommend using a taste-card if eating in Zizzis as you can get 2 for 1 on starters mains and desserts. The food is good especially the lasagne and bruschetta! Zizzis pesto is my favourite it's really fresh and the tomatoes are so juicy! Calamari is very difficult to overcook and undercook, nevertheless always cooked to perfection at zizzis👌.I've eaten at this zizzis a few times and i've encountered a lovely young gentlemen (James it says on my receipt) a couple of times he's lovely, very well spoken and very helpful! Went of a meal here on Thursday for my wife’s birthday , had 3 course meal and the children have the 3 course meal, we was seated near the front door with a 2 small children, given menu and then left didn’t get a greeting or any help how to order, tried ordering online but our table was closed on the website so had to ask them to open the table , the staff didn’t take order at the table to make it easier ,there was only two tables in the whole restaurant but people where been turned away saying it was to busy, one staff member was sat at a table eating, the started came an the chicken was so cold sent it back they warmed it up and sent the same one back out after putting it in the microwave , we have no knife and forks and no napkins , children given colouring sheets but no colours, our table got so full we started to move the empty glasses , bottle and plates and asked a young waitress to help still only 2 tables in the restaurant and 4 staff members serving , then when our main came our dessert came at the same time so had to say we wasn’t ready for it. Wouldn’t return the food wasn’t great and no customer service really disappointed we have visited Zizzi in other towns and been lovey but just let it down us.

Dishonest manager - Nick - at Zizzi Hull/St Stephens. Not impressed. Specifically asked a staff member about using Tesco vouchers for the meal deal menu before ordering from this menu and was told it was fine. Also asked another staff member about using Tesco vouchers when I first entered the restaurant, and they said 'just use your vouchers when paying'. Nothing about special menus and exempted items etc etc. Manager point blank refused to accept the vouchers for the 4 meal deals we had ordered, and physically split the order into separate bits (even though the separately ordered items are a larger item), and we had to pay for these items. We simply would not have ordered the meal deal if they were not payable with the vouchers! Poor manner. Not willing to listen. Not sure why we had to suffer for the mistake of their staff... Went in to use our Tesco vouchers for a special birthday meal. Told the waitress that we had Tesco vouchers and whether we could use it on the set menu which she said yes but when it came to payment the restaurant didn’t want to honour the vouchers. Even worst is that it was the manager who did the bill and won’t accept his staff were wrong. Actually the one that seated us also said we could use the vouchers at the end, so 2 staff were wrong or badly trained. Or is it the manager being awkward? We paid more than expected and hence didn’t leave any tips. Won’t be using this restaurant again.

Worst take out experience I've ever had. The waiter was super unfriendly, told us that we didn't have to pay a parking fee on a Sunday (it's 2GBP) and we couldn't get the free garlic bread that you're supposed to get when you sign up for the club. Family meal the food was good but service let's the restaurant down food very slow to arrive. When I ask for the bill first I was brought the completely wrong bill and then twice items had been added to my bill in error if I hadn't have noticed I would have been overcharged by more than £15.00

Complete let down both with the food and the service. My Seabeam was cooked, left on the counter, the waiting staff came touched the fish and informed the chef that it has gone cold, overcooked resulted in dry and burnt skin! Visited on 25/3, was overcharged by £100.00, staff realised their mistake, told me that the refund will be actioned within 5 working days and still no refund to date 2 weeks later! What a disappointing experience. It's been a few years since visiting a Zizzi. And I can say it's not my cup of tea. Food took so long to come, pizzas were cold( no stringy mozzarella was a solid mass) 300 for 9 people. Staff were rude when trying to use our Blue Light Card. Won't be rushing back.

I went here last month, the manager (I can't remember her name) couldn't find my booking and was very rude about it. She kept on saying there's nothing she can do, the waiter that attended to us (James, I think) was kinder when the manger was able to "give us" a table only for one hour and said we must leave by then as she has another party for the space. For a restaurant in the hospitality business, the manager was rather awful so I would not be coming back & would not recommend this place to others either.
