Berni Inn Steakhouse and Pizzaria in Rossendale

I was the DJ at my Grandson's Junior Football Team's end of season presentation last night. All I can say is that Berni was nothing but helpful in allowing me access to her venue to set up my gear in advance of the event. The food provided by Berni last night was top notch and everyone had a great time. Great venue and I would book an event here. 👍

Would definately not recommend using this venue. Unfortunately had a very nasty experience here on the hands of the owner, who was extremely rude.

Had my 30th here last night and really enjoyed it! The staff are lovely, the food is nice and Berni is an amazing host … would definitely recommend! We will be back for our next big event!

What an amazing experience. Me and my family went to Berni’s for the first time for our Christmas dinner and it was outstanding!! Great food, fantastic atmosphere and exceptional service. Absolutely fantastic afternoon, my 1st Christmas dinner out in 59 years and what a fantastic afternoon. Food was plentiful, staff friendly entertainment for the children. Berni herself what a lovely lady, this most definitely won't be the last I visit Berni Inn Whitworth.

I've hired Berni Inn twice now, the first time was for my sons birthday party with animals etc for the children to look at and hold, food and party games. Everyone commented on what a fantastic party it was. The second was this weekend for my mum and dads 40th wedding anniversary party. We had to change venue last minute and Berni accommodated us even though she was meant to be at her own Xmas night out. She couldn't do enough to help us and made sure that everything ran smoothly and efficiently. The venue looked amazing as always and the staff on the bar ensured wait times were kept to a minimum. Hoping to book my 40th there next, thanks Berni and your fantastic team!

Berni is just amazing! What an amazing person with the friendliest of welcomes, we attend Oktoberfest every year at Berni inn and have an absolute blast! Drinks are reasonable, atmosphere is great and staff are fantastic! Couldn’t recommend enough

Great place for a function in an old mill building in Whitworth, above the Fudge Factory. The staff are lovely. We had a great time!

Having seen Berni collect the hospitality award on Wednesday evening we decided to go down and sample the atmosphere. We were certainly not disappointed, and it was clear to see that the voting panel were spot on. Berni is a fantastic host and creates a very relaxed and enjoyable environment to help you unwind and have fun. We would definitely return.

After winning the hospitality award at the Rossendale Business Awards I can happily say this was well deserved! Berni and her team are always welcoming and friendly and put on the best nights and last night was no different. The perfect venue for celebrating!

Lovely venue tucked away off the main road. Berni is a fantastic host and nothing was too much trouble for her or her team. You really need to give this place a try if you haven't already.

The buffet food was of a high quality and a great variety. Great scotch eggs. Plenty of different meats laid out in a lovely way.

We choose to hold our engagement party here as for many years it has been my favourite local place for functions. Berni and her team went above and beyond as always to ensure everything was perfect for our special celebration. They even added a little extra surprise to our buffet as they knew it would make us laugh! Wow what a place, what a celebration and what a team! Highly recommend and we will obviously be returning for future celebrations. 👌

Had the pleasure of coming to the venue for a suprise birthday party earlier this year. The food was really good and i found the staff to be very on the ball, with a well stocked bar. I would recommend this venue for any type of function.

Came here yesterday for a meal... opening hours were 5pm-Late.. I arrived at 6pm to find it closed. I had been here in the past and the food was fantastic, Such a shame that the website opening hours don't correspond with actual opening hours.Disappointed.

We're always looking for new places to eat and decided to give Berni a whirl after reading so many glowing reviews. I don't want to go into too much detail, but I had the Mexican burger which was just a burger with cheese on. The Mexican part of the burger failed to show up as did any sauce or taste. However the chips were amazing, as good as I've ever eaten. The missus had Chorizo pasta which was really just a bit of pasta with what tasted like an over seasoned bottle of Dolmio added to it. If your friend had served it up on a Friday after a few beers ok, but not at a restaurant. The young lady serving us was fine and nothing was too much trouble for her, but the quality of food just didn't live up to the 5 star reviews.

Food was fab, hosting was fab. Can't fault it. Berni and Dean are a cracking team. Best place in Whitworth. Had a party for my Dad's 60th, no one went home hungry, the amount of food for the price per head is amazing value, we had the around the world buffet which meant there was something for everyone, even fussy eaters such as myself. I can particularly recommend the pigs in blankets and garlic mushrooms. Drinks are good value as well, also had real ales on which is a rarity in Whitworth.Enjoyed it that much I have already booked for my mums next year.

What a fantastic night at Berni Inn, good company, good food. This was a tremendous evening , with a brilliant Elvis tribute act.. The food was a Grand Buffet based on an American theme and was absolutely delicious and plenty of it.My thanks must go to Berni and her staff for making it a marvellous evening .

Wow! Been for carvery tonight and what a great carvery it was. Food was delicious and service was spot on. In addition to this we had our daughter's christening here in august and the day was everything we hoped for and more. My phone didn't stop for days afterwards with the amount of messages I got telling me how amazing the buffet was that had been put on and how it was so unexpected and better than any buffet they had seen before. The owners and staff couldn't do enough for us on the day and leading up to the day and played a big part in ensuring our little girl had a day fit for a princess. All future functions will be taking place here and we took great pleasure in taking our friends this evening to sample the amazing carvery.

First of all I want to dissociate myself from the views expressed by a previous corespondent who described this venue as disappointing. I was at the same event as this person , which was a charitable event , yes there were one or two issues, but they did not deserve the critism put on this side and in any case this person should have approached the organisation concerned with the views.I have no hesitation in recommending Berni Inn, they have a growing reputation and well deserved it is too..Anyone wanting to either just go for a meal or hire the room and its facilities as a ggroup should look no father than this venue.Berni and her staff are excellent hosts.

Me and my boyfriend decided to go out for a meal and we browsed the trip advisor to help us decide on where to eat. Based on the high-rated reviews on Berni inn we decided to check this place out. Despite living locally, and visiting the chocolate factory on numerous occasions, I had never eaten here before. The staff were welcoming, polite, and provided excellent service (Shout out to Berni!). Second, the food was well presented, reasonably priced and my god- it was very tasty! I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Lovely atmosphere, great food and amazing service. I will be visiting here again soon. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

We went in last night (3rd October) for the first time ever, and I can honestly say that even the 5 star reviews given do not describe this place well enough. This place is FANTASTIC! The food is AMAZING! (Even Better than Jamie Oliver's in Manchester the night beforehand) and Bernie could not have been nicer. I'm not sure where the person ate who gave the review below mine, but it sure as heck was not here! We are fortunate enough to eat at some of the best restaurants woldwide and I would gladly make this place my new favourite eatery. Thanks Bernie and we will be back to see you again soon.

Firstly let me say that I want to see local businesses thrive so I don't leave this review lightly, but I cannot believe how many glowing reviews this restaurant has received. Maybe we just went on a bad night....but it was extremely bad.I went as part of a large group who had pre-booked for the carvery. First impressions were not good. Although nicely furnished, the floor was 'sticky' and upon ordering drinks we were told they had only one kind of white wine - a chardonnay - and no lemonade or cola (they sent someone out to buy some - why this couldn't have been bought prior to us getting there I don't know, they knew we were coming).We'd asked for a selection of three starters - on the night we were given a choice of two soups - when some people stated they didn't like soup - they were then offered pate. On our table one pate came with toast...the other with a bread roll! The soup itself wasn't very nice and nearly cold.The carvery was a disappointment as well; the plates were cold, the beef was tough and stringy, the roast potatoes burnt on the bottom, the boiled potatoes sat in water and the carrots which were cut into large chunks were undercooked. However the ultimate moment came when the 'chef' who had been carving the meat was asked if the sausages could be refilled. He then had a rant saying some people must have taken more than one sausage and that he should have given them out with the meat. He then stormed into the kitchen muttering "unbelievable"! This was whilst we were still queuing to be served. It was like a scene out of Fawlty Towers.Our desserts actually looked nice but the gateaux and cheesecake turned out to be still partially frozen.There were lots of other issues on the night for other people but I've only reviewed our own tables experience.The owner wasn't there on the evening to receive our complaints, however one bright spot was the serving staff who were all friendly and courteous.On the basis of the meal - which is one of the worst I've had - and the 'chef's' attitude - I would have awarded one star - but the serving staff made the evening more palatable.

Would definitely go back here again , food was excellent, staff where very pleasant and the prices where very reasonable. Overall experience at this place is definitely a 10/10.

Attended a family christening held at Berni's on Sunday, what a fabulous day. The room was beautifully decorated, bar fully stocked and a buffet to die for! Being a massive foodie I was in my element with curries, tapas, Italian pastas and pizza and of course the traditional meat bunnies! Plenty of food for seconds and thirds! I am part of a dedicated committee that runs a not for profit "shop local food and craft fair" each month in the little village of Whitworth. For our one year anniversary meal where we would be giving local ventures/charities any money that has been made from the fairs raffles etc, Berni Inn offered to host the evening and offer a 3 course carvery meal.It was only £15 per person, and the food was amazing. (DJ, background music and also live entertainment from two lovely local lads) Room was spacious and clean and staff VERY friendly- dietary needs were also catered for! Starter choice of either Bloody Mary soup or butternut squash and sweet potato soup.Carvery main- carved roast beef, gammon, turkey, pork with an abundance of vegetables/potatoes...not frozen either all freshly prepared and cooked.Dessert choices where choc fudge cake, ice cream sundaes, strawberries and cream, trifle, cheese cake or proffertie rolls.Bar was of average price, £3 a pint.On behalf of the food and craft fair committee we would like to personally thank Berni Inn staff for hosting this wonderful evening.
