What a surprise. Love it. One of the best tea rooms not only in East Anglia, even in the UK. The interior is made of second hand things with love, creativity and style. Cosy, smart and unique. Never again due to sheer rudeness. Arrived on New Yrs day and the main door was locked and unless you looked very hard through the red sign writing on the door their is a very small sign pointing to another entrance. (We went back to see this sign when we left). We walked round the side of the building to what looks like a door to an upstairs flat. We opended it to a very shocked member of staff. We thought we had gone into the kitchen area by mistake. When I queried it the lady said their was a sign on the other door. I mentioned that we didn't see it she said "oh maybe it needs to be clearer". As we were shown to a table by a member of staff, my husband heard the lady say with her head down "Their is a bloody sign on the door and no one reads it" my husband did say don't speak to my wife like that but their was no reply. We ordered coffee after what seems ages, the gentleman seemed put out no food was being ordered and queried our order twice. We paid and left. To be told under £10.00 is cash after I said cash or card. Good job we had cash on us. As we were leaving people were still baffled and trying the main door so maybe the fault is on the sign not (stupid people as implied). Will be giving this one a total miss shame as now local and the coffee.and tea was lovely.

I love this place! Such a small, friendly individual tearoom. From the moment we stepped inside we were made to feel so welcome. We only had tea and cake but it was perfect. The couple on the table next to us were having homemade beef stew. They recommended the Sunday lunch too, especially the lamb shank. We shall be back to try it.

What a really delightful tea shop this is, and it really is a Tea Shop and not a café. The two charming women who looked after us could not have been more attentive even though they were busy putting up their Christmas decorations. We had tea with a wonderful chocolate cake and I had a classic 'cream tea'. Both were delicious. It was a cold Saturday afternoon when we visited, when most of the other eateries in town had already shut but Berni Beans was open, lovely and warm, and welcoming. I really wish them much success going forward, they have clearly put so much effort into the Victorian decoration and décor that more people deserve to experience it. We had n 'Afternoon tea' provided at our local Catholic Church for 40 people who were attending a special event. The food provided was superb and the staff who helped us at the time were lovely and supporting. Everything was provided and presented beautifully and cleared away when we finished. A fabulous and quirky place to enjoy our afternoon tea. Our lunch was divine, with a delicate ensemble of sandwiches and homemade scones. We were so excited to get a reservation on my partner’s special birthday, it was worth the wait. Excellent service all round, and really looking forward to going back. Hunstanton was deserted due to driving rain and it was late afternoon when our holiday group of 3 families arrived at Bernie Beans but we were given such a warm welcome at this lovely cosy little cafe. Nothing was too much trouble for our hostess who made up kids’ portions especially, treated the children generously and brought us extra cakes. We tried the scones, lemon cake and carrot cake which were all light and delicious. It was the end of the day and most other cafes were already shut but we didn’t feel rushed at all. We couldn’t have had a better experience!

Lovely food people and service would recommend to everyone and reasonably priced too. Well worth the trip.

What a lovely Place , the waitress was dressed in 1940/1950 style clothes with a tabard and hair net , we were made very welcome and treated like royalty . The crockery was all bone China and the afternoon tea was delicious , thank you Amanda and team

Went on Saturday for a splendid Afternoon Tea with my family. For the price it is an exceptional afternoon tea, every detail is 10 out of 10 to make it special for customers. The venue, the atmosphere Bernie Beans has brought a slice of elegance to Hunstanton. My family had never been before and they loved it, they were intrigued with the decor and we had first class food, first class service. Would highly recommend a visit.

Fabulous , impromptu visit to Bernie Bean in the evening - where to start ? Wonderful friendly welcome from the owners and locals. Cool beers in relaxed outdoor area ( blankets provided when it got chilly) and the most fantastic freshly prepared pizzas. Looking forward to return for a Sunday roast. This is a special place with very special hosts- if you are in Hunstanton make it a priority 😃

Perfectly charming decor based on historic confectioner’s corner shop. We experienced irritation from the older lady serving which spoiled our morning. No idea what was troubling her. A disappointment, as the place itself is lovely and inviting looking.

Very cute place and and ideal place to have your tea and scones. Lovely cakes and period cups to have your tea in. Scrumptious hot chocolate for the little ones.

We happened to be walking past on the first night of their new wood-fired pizza venture and what a stroke of luck that was. We had a couple of delicious pizzas and tasty beers with super friendly and accommodating service, including blankets for the chilly summer evening. If we lived closer, we would definitely be visiting frequently. Highly recommend!

We were hot and tired after a strenuous hike by the Wash and this was the perfect place to relax. Service was gracious and we appreciated not being hurried out by an sort of officious staff. The place itself is a delight and we enjoyed the displays of tea services. We soon felt relaxed and refreshed. Wish they were closer to home ( a small town in upstate NY!)

We went for Sunday lunch at Berni Bean Hunstanton the food is cooked to perfection the service was excellent the staff are so friendly nothing is to much trouble the decoration take you back to the fifties. What a terrible service this place offers. Back in January, there were four of us that wanted afternoon tea. It was booked by one of our party over the phone and we were looking forward to this. When we arrived, the place was shut and the staff were inside cleaning. We rang the bell and explained that we had booked afternoon tea. For some reason this had not been booked in, and it wasn’t in the diary. We had to sit outside while they put together a table and it was freezing cold in January. Eventually after about 30 minutes we were told that we could come in and have the afternoon tea. By way of an apology, we were offered a free cream tea, at a later date in the year. We booked this cream tea, by email, for this afternoon (24th March) and this was confirmed by the owner. We arrived there today, in the pouring rain and we were so shocked to see that the place was closed! We just couldn’t believe this. This was the second time that we had been let down by these people. I emailed the owner whilst outside the premises. I did get a reply a short time later with an apology that she had closed due to a dental appointment, and the other member of staff didn’t feel confident to work alone..how confident do you have to be to serve a scone and a pot of tea..? Therefore the place was shut. At NO time was I or anyone else in the party contacted about this. She had my email and a telephone number, but we were not told about this at all. That is what I find an appalling service. We should have been notified that they were unable to do the cream tea, and we could have rearranged this. It is terrible customer service to not bother to contact your customers, when you easily could have done so. The four of us do not get together very often, so we were really looking forward to seeing each other and having a lovely cream tea together, but our afternoon was ruined by this. Also, we had paid to park the car, and walk in the rain to the place, and two of us are in their eighties ….! We will never go here again. Dreadful!

We stopped off here on our first visit to Bernies tea room for lunch and cup coffee as usually it is very busy and we are so pleased we did ! The sarnies .crisps.salad & coleslaw was nicely presented on the plates and tasted fresh & tasty !
