Berkeley Arms in Melton

Live locally to this pub but have never eaten here. Heard lots of great things so we spontaneously decided to go. The quality of service and food is above and beyond what I have heard. Not a fan of Sunday lunch but this was excellent. The staff were brilliant and so accommodating. Will be visiting again!!

We really enjoyed our visit to the Berkeley Arms. The pub is beautiful and quirky with nooks to sit in and knick knacks that make you wonder what they're for leading to great conversations. The owner / landlord was warm, as inviting as the pub, and full of local knowledge. The food was just delicious. Locally sourced and home grown, my Roast beetroot, avocado, feta salad with homegrown tomatillos and basil oil starter was just amazing. My partners scallops still had the roe which is just the best bit and his pie was full of partridge. My Lamb Jalfrezi well spiced and tasty. Seriously good. Such a shame we were just visiting the area, we would love this to be our local.

We were passing through Wymondham and decided to break our jouney and have lunch here. It was an excellent choice, purely by chance, and we had lovely tasty lunch. And the pub is wheelchair accessble which I needed. We will be definitely planning to stop on our next journey through the village.

The Partridge pie and the Halibut steak were excellent choices and cooked and presented to perfection. The selection of beers and wines was very good. The ambiance perfect for a memorable evening

It's 6 months since we last visited this establishment and I'm so very happy to say food and service were both brilliant... It wasn't particularly busy but I'm told at night it's buzzing Thankyou for great meal

We were most impressed with this pub. A village setting in the heart of Rutland, not that far from Melton Mowbray. Full of charm and atmosphere, with quirky notices. We had booked for lunch at 12.30pm with a friend, table for three. The menu is very extensive, you need time to read it through thoroughly. For main course there is pie of the day, fish of the day, and lots of other choices, all freshly prepared. Two of us had halibut, the other venison sausages. All absolutely delicious. Then just when you think you can't eat another thing, you find room for dessert. Cheesecake of the day, crumble of the day, pudding of the day. Wow! What a choice, and all homemade on the premises. Two lots of profiteroles and cheesecake later, we were very well fed. Very popular, which speaks for itself. Lots of tourism leaflets available for local walks and sightseeing. Pretty front garden with outdoor seating. A real treat for us.

Village pub in a picturesque location along Wymondham High Street. We visited on a Saturday evening for a family meal. Good varied menu with plenty of choices. The food was excellent and freshly cooked and served within a reasonable time even though the restaurant was very busy. We are returning again this week with friends to explore more of the menu.

We had Sunday lunch here after the boys football match. Late kickoff, so brilliant to find a restaurant still willing to serve Sunday lunch after 3pm. Booked online ahead, easy & quick. Food was delicious. We didn’t have a roast. Fish & chips, venison pie & One had a burger & chips. All came in good time and was piping hot. Welcome was warm when we walked in and the staff were friendly & attentive. No room for pudding as the meals were lovely and filling, but the puddings looked delicious too. Will definitely be back.

Second visit and both times the food has been excellent good choice of freshly cooked food and specials to choose from . The venison pie was 10/10 good size portion fresh vegetables great staff, restaurant could of done with being warmer if I was to give any negative.

Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to the Berkeley Arms, meeting friends from Nottingham for lunch. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was excellent with plenty of choice and good value (try the venison and red wine pie if it is on the menu). Great atmosphere with the log fire. Will definitely return soon.

Honestly, this is a big shout out to the chefs and all kitchen workers. But mainly the head chef! He knows I love the Brie wedges and it’s literally my favourite food to order. It’s my go to as soon as I see it on the menu. He was Generous enough to serve me 3 instead of two. Nothing can beat the food here. It’s the best. I have nothing bad to say. The front of house staff were lovely and smart. They were welcoming and the service was super fast considering there were a lot of people. Will certainly be back again.

An excellent lunch. A good choice of dishes. A good choice of beers and wines. Will highly recommend. The “Pie of the Day” was particularly good. Packed with good quality meat. Can’t wait for the next one.

Fabulous moist burgers with excellent side of onions along with a very tasty fish and chips. The mayonnaise is very thick and very tasty. As always the whole meal was fabulous and delicious. Mark as always excellent chat and banter.
