Bentley's Smokehouse in Rother

As it was my son's 34th birthday we (my wife & I, our son & his girlfriend) booked Sunday lunch for 12.30pm on Sunday, 19th Jan because we had heard such good reports. We were all delighted at the choice of Mains from steaks, chicken & Sunday roasts. I had the baked camembert as a starter & the Louisiana Chicken for my main course. The food for all for of us was plentiful & delicious but in hindsight I probably didn't need the starter as the Main was fantastic. In fact I had to take some of the chicken home in a 'doggy bag' which the staff were happy to provide. A great choice of beers (alcohol & non-alcoholic) were also provided. But best of all was the service provided by the staff. We were served by Leah & Charlotte who were excellent. We will be back soon.

The food was excellent, the portions were very good and all the food came out perfectly. The service from the waitresses Beth and Charlotte was very good and they coped with our large group and messing around with our menu choices. Overall outstanding and we absolutely love coming to the restaurant.

Superb place if you want a decent meal for a good price served by excellent and understanding staff. It makes such a rare find to get a restaurant like this now days. I had roast beef and it was lovely. And it had PROPER roast potatoes too !! My partner had Half rack of ribs and it was no effort from the staff to change the menu as SHE WANTED !! Well done leah and Charlotte . Great service !

Very lovely evening. Portions were huge. Restaurant was very busy with a great atmosphere, but slight wait for food, was worth the wait. All staff were very friendly and thoughtful. Thank you to saffron for a great evening.

We booked a last minute table for drinks on Christmas Eve, then wondered about ordering one plate of food, which was no trouble at all. The waitress, Sophie, was lovely. She was knowledgable on the menu, and guided us as to which cocktails she thought we might like, based on our preferences. The cocktails were very special, the food was outstanding, a thoroughly enjoyable visit, thank you :)

Really tasty food and huge portions so go hungry. There's an option for a full chicken platter with any 4 sides (£42) so a meat cheat code is to order 4 half rack of ribs if youre sharing and in the market for a serious feast. The ribs were succulent, fall off the bone and very tasty. The chicken was good but a tad on the dry side. I didn't try the burger but from looking at others on the table it looked delicious. Great service too

We had an amazing meal at Bentleys Smokehouse. The food was perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and the portions were generous. The service was top-notch, friendly, and made us feel welcome. Highly recommend for a fantastic dining experience!

Cosy atmosphere. Servers were lovely, but the food a let down. Had a platter to share which was ok but just not great BBQ. The wings deep fried which is fine if they aren't small and dry, pulled pork average, sausage link ok, garlic bread was tasty but biggest let down was the ribs. Done very lazily as either boiled or steam oven and just a bit of BBQ smeared on top, same texture as pull pork. Fine to pre cook ribs this way if brushed with sauce then put on charcoal grill for a while to add a bit of smoke flavour and texture. Had a cheeseburger, good bun but patties very chewy. Desert nice but just tasted like a bookers dessert. Four of us each had starter main and dessert, 2 pints and 6 soft drinks, £205. I'd go again but try something different next time, they have a varied menu so worth trying a couple of times.

The restaurant is full of authenticity, easy-going, decently priced and with friendly staff. Makes you feel like you're in small-town Texas. I wish we had a place like this in London....

7 people, various meals, 2 of us living in Canada and...couldn't finish em. They were BIG! Tasty as f!!!k! Highly recommend. All the meals came at the same time. Beers on tap and fantastic desserts. This is a texas smokehouse that puts Texas to shame. Ask me how I know.... You won't be disappointed. This ai t no Olive Garden or Aussie Steak House, thank God for that. Hat up, double denim and boot scoot your way here.

I went to Bentley's after a show with two friends. The food was divine, the service excellent and a great atmosphere.

A really modern vibe for sleepy Bexhill and definitely a welcome addition and firm favourite for many locals. As a non meat eating guest who visits with meat eaters, this side of the menu is definitely neglected and with the food served, rather poor. Hopefully it will improve for the next visit.

Just had the creamy mushrooms on toast starter, the main meal needs to step up! OMG!

Once again a perfect evening, all staff made us feel so welcome with the Wednesday menu offering a discounted choice - serving beautifully cooked food with such a pleasant attitude! We chose a chicken Cajun burger and John Wayne burger followed by Banoffee and ice cream!! Thanks so much to all the staff.

Popped in for lunch and had a delicious meal. It was easy to adjust your meal size as fries are ordered separately,perfect as I was looking for a lighter option.

We are local so come to Bentley’s Smokehouse as much as possible. The service food and hospitality is 2nd to none and the ribs are the best I’ve ever had which says a lot as we eat out all over the country and I always see how other restaurants compare and still not found anything close to Bentleys ribs they are the best and will not disappoint! If your looking for a great place to eat out then look no further and the ribs have to be tried but make sure your hungry as they are big! 👍

First experience at Bently's smokehouse and it did not disappoint!! Food was hot, flavoursome and fulfilling! We were a large party of 13 yet no long wait for the drinks or food to arrive at the table. A big THANK YOU to our waitress, Sophie!! Sophie was attentive, patient and went above and beyond for every single person sitting at our table. Sophie made our Bentley's experience even more enjoyable with her wholesome sense of humour, she was an absolute fresh of breath air!! Thank you Sophie, I will definitely be returning to experience other meals on the menu!! 😄

My daughter and I popped in for dinner. We liked the casual vibe of the place and decor. Beth had a lovely personality and manner...very pleasant young lady who knows what good customer service looks like. My daughter is pregnant and has food allergies and Beth made the effort to find out what was safe for her to eat and was very caring in how she addressed my daughter. The food was EXCELLENT!!! I ordered the large ribs and they were huge, succulent and delicious...the best I've had in the UK. The same could be said for the next level onion rings. Infact it was all delicious. The bill was very reasonable!

The food, service and atmosphere is so fanrastic. We were so impressed with the quality of the food. The ribs were the best my dad had ever had, and the onion rings were incredible and cooked to perfection. Our waitress Beth was also so lovely and endearing. She made sure that the food was ok for me to eat due to my allergens and was very attentive and sweet. She was new yet seemed so professional and experienced! All in all a great experience

I came in last night with my family and children and the service was fantastic the girls and not forgetting the Bar man was attentive and happy to help. This is my 2nd visit as I don’t live close by but will return when I’m in Bexhill. Your doing a great job guys thank you

We went there 2 times for dinner and the food was normal average, nothing special. On the 1st evening we paid with America Express and on the 2nd evening we were told that no American Express credit card is accepted. I then called the responsible employees and he told me that the boss had terminated American Express today, which was an absolute lie. So be careful in this restaurant.

Generous portions, nice food. Service was good and with a smile. Very busy and popular, with varying in customer ages. 😊.

Fabulous food, even better service, great music... Maybe a little loud for my old ears but honestly a great time. Family of 4 adults, 3 courses and drinks, £195 ... Not bad I think. Between us, we all left happy and full and will no doubt be back

We visited Hastings on a pilgrimage from Cornwall. We joined a local group on Facebook, to find the best steak around the area. And we ended up visiting Bentleys smokehouse, excellent staff also the staff will open a door to let fresh air through, excellent food definitely a must to visit. Without a doubt. I would definitely visit again. We ordered Steak. Fantastic. Cooked to perfection. Visited 6/9/2024.

Atmosphere 3???? Bexhill innit

My brisket was tasty but my wife's burger was disappointing - the meat was dry and bland. Service wasn't what it should have been either.

We all really enjoyed our meals. All 6 of us really enjoyed our burgers and sides.

Fantastic food and drink in a great location with really cool decor and super friendly service. Jake made us feel really welcome immediately, and Joe was happy to chat cocktails with me, giving me some ideas for drinks to make at home! Everything we ate was perfect, the drinks were superb, can't wait to go again!

Had a really love meal and the service was incredible. Our servers Ray and Sophie did a great job of making sure we had what we needed and weren’t over bearing which I personally love. They explain the menu. The food was delicious, hot and on time. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Popped in, spur of the moment, for a bite to eat, the choices on the menu were amazing but we had spotted someone eating the Sunday roast, so we decided to try that and we were not dissapointed. The staff were lovely, Zach and his team provided excellent friendly service. We can't wait to go back and try some other bits on their menu as the food being served to other customers looked delicious. The lemon cheese cake was so tasty 😋

Party of 10 went for first time,everything was excellent, the staff very friendly premises very clean,food came out all together as was piping hot & everyone said it was fabulous, especially the massive rack of ribs would definitely return

Overpriced, noisy and slow service. Food was ok, but nothing special.

Arrived at about 6pm, Friendly welcome, I took a window seat with a friend. Quick to be seen to, restaurant got busier as we ate. Very delicious filling burgers, only comment was that my friend thought the onion rings were meant to be more than one with the burger meal he had.

This is the first time in a long time that we have actually had good food and good service from a restaurant. I'm a fussy soab and so are the others on the party but no one had any complaints apart from the onion ring was not cooked properly, but apart from that 10/10 and the staff were pleasant and friendly as well. All in all, I'm glad we found somewhere at last we can actually go when we are looking for somewhere to eat. Well done guys we enjoyed the visit and look forward to coming again. Update: 9thJune2024 2nd visit just as awesome as the 1st, no probably better. big thanks to Summer, she is a star employee, pleasant professional and exactly how staff should be. Big thanks again to all involved even those chefs behind the scene that get no recognition, brilliant place brilliant staff, highly recommended. Also Dirty Harry is a winner 😁

We had an exceptional Sunday roast. The roast beef was tender and flavorful, paired perfectly with crispy roast potatoes, airy Yorkshire puddings, and well-cooked vegetables. The rich gravy tied everything together. The warm atmosphere made it a truly memorable meal.

Great menu, good food, appalling service, word of advice you have a set time limit and if your times up your out even if you have not finished! Really disappointed and shocked the person in charge was argumentative with us.

The food is amazing, it's well priced and you get what you pay for. It's always flavourful and suits the restaurants theme. The store is decorated in an old western style, with some awesome old weapons on the wall, alongside this the choice of music is fantastic, my mum and I were both singing along. It felt like I was in the fallout universe, I love this place. It's by far the best place in bexhill, everywhere else isn't worth your time. I'd advise booking a table if you are going to visit on a busy night though.

First time going here last night. Everything was absolutely perfect. Great food. Great drinks all of the staff were great. Our waitress Katie was the absolute personification of courteous and professional. We shall be back 👌

Where else would a waiter run out to find you when a table in a fully booked restaurant suddenly became available. Amazing place with fabulous food.

After being seated and initial order being taken, we never saw a server again without calling them over. It's a shame as the food was excellent but our first round of empty glasses sat at the table throughout the whole meal, we had to call someone over for a desert menu to get our table cleared then 3 orders were wrong or missing. Paid as we left rather than wait again for service. Food was delicious and filling

Very busy place had to book before hand but it was worth it. I had the slow cooked turkey which I don’t think they do anymore, was very nice with a good smokey flavour but it could’ve came with some gravy. My partner had a burger which he said was very good, both portions were very big! The service was quick and very attentive as well, will definitely go back.

Been here many times over the last few months. The food is fantastic, big portions and my son is coeliac (gluten free) and fussy - he cleans his plate and never an issue with cross contamination. Thank you!

This place feels truly authentic for Southern states USA. We had a fabulous meal here tonight with chicken Louisiana and Carolina and beef brisket orders. What’s up Doc cocktails were v good and served with style . Great service, decor and atmosphere with quite a lot of covers for a rainy Monday evening.

We have eaten here a few times now and really enjoyed it polite staff and great service food is amazing too.

Bentley's certainly didn't let us down. Great food and amazing service from Sophie. Good with kids too, with a good selection for young toddlers. Will certainly be returning when we are back in Bexhill. :)

Stumbled on this restaurant unexpectedly and thank goodness we did. We both tried the Roast.... Absolutely loved the lamb that was cooked perfectly, the crispy fluffy roast potatoes and the veg aldante...totally stuffed by the end of it. Staff were polite, professional and Zach was extremely attentive. Will definitely be visiting for my upcoming birthday with the rest of my family.

Visited this place on Tuesday for an after work meal. The service was brilliant, all the staff were up beat and smiling. I had the brisket, there was nothing wrong with it, very tender but over smoked for my taste. My friend had the sizzling fajitas which were shared and they were unbelievable!

Excellent selection of burgers, sizzling fajita dishes and BBQ, a great bar too. Very reasonably priced and worth every penny. Staff friendly and attentive but not over bearing at all.

Decent choice on menu. Really good burgers! Unfortunately we both had chilli cheese fries, sounded good but had fake cheese sauce all over them, not good! Both of us couldn't eat them. If they're cheese fries they should have proper cheese or at least a choice of real cheese!

OMG I LOVE THIS PLACE had the smoked turkey fajita and felt my whole body tingling with excitement, can't put it in to words how good this place is and it just gets better with the service had Zach serve me today and I'd like to thank you very much sir. See you again soon.

Seavros & Leah were both so friendly and made the experience 10x better! First time here and the food was so good! The bourbon Burger was amazing and with a cheeky sundae to finish it all off.
