I’m a huge fan of benjamins and have been dining here for a while but on my latest occasion I was serverd old left over dynamite chicken and was very cold and wasn’t impressed at all. I hope this is a blip as normally the foods always on point.

Amazing service from Benjamin staff really enjoyed the food

Came here yesterday and I was served by a short hijabi girl, sorry I didn’t get her name but her service was very good, accommodating towards us and had a nice smile, please forward this to her. The food was good as well, would recommend everything coming out altogether instead of one by one though so it did get a little cold but it was nice nonetheless. Interior decor is 10/10 so pretty and aesthetically pleasing, will be back soon!

Food is great, went as a group recently, got the big platter and also some other dishes. Everything tastes good and fresh, but there's not much portions of beans so the food can be a bit dryer.

I will never be coming back. Absolutely disgusting. I’m surprised how they’re still open. The photos say enough as to why I had to go to the toilet 2 minutes after.

**Extremely Disappointing Experience – Unacceptable Service, Food, and Facilities** My friend and I recently dined at Benjamin Cafe on Friday, February 21st, and our experience was profoundly disappointing. From the moment we entered, it was clear that customer service was not a priority. The staff appeared disengaged and unhelpful, creating a negative atmosphere that lingered throughout our visit. The quality of the food was shockingly poor. It fell short of our expectations in both flavor and presentation, leaving us with the impression that no effort was made to ensure a satisfactory dining experience. To compound our frustration, many of the restaurant’s basic facilities were non-functional. The water supply had been turned off, making the restroom inoperable. After we expressed our concerns, they briefly restored the water only to turn it off again shortly after, resulting in further aggravation. The cleanliness, seating comfort, and overall maintenance of the café were clearly neglected, despite its dubious hygiene rating of 5. When we attempted to address these serious issues with a staff member, we were met with a shocking lack of professionalism. Rather than demonstrating an understanding of our concerns or a willingness to resolve the problems, we encountered indifference. His dismissive response, “The water mains have always been turned off since the restaurant opened,” left us stunned, especially knowing that patrons were leaving the restroom without the opportunity to wash their hands. This is utterly unacceptable. To make matters worse, the staff member boasted about his law studies, a completely irrelevant detail that only added to our frustration. Outraged, we pointed out that understanding customer rights, particularly regarding business faults and hygiene issues, should be a fundamental aspect of his training. He refused to provide his name, prompting us to inform him of our intent to lodge a formal complaint with both management and the relevant health authorities, particularly concerning the alarming hygiene standards. In summary, our visit to Benjamin Cafe was nothing short of a disaster. With pitiful service, disappointing food, and a glaring disregard for basic customer care, we cannot in good conscience recommend this establishment and will certainly not be returning.

Just want to recognise the young man with the longish hair who served us yesterday night and was so polite and attentive. So great to see young people that are this motivated and hard working, that too late on a Saturday night. Seeing things like this make me want to support a local business and I’ll be coming back. The other young lad working was also helpful. We were there as the restaurant was closing and saw him thoroughly cleaning the floor tiles. A lot of young kids don’t have this work ethic. If I had a retail business I’d hire the two of them tomorrow. I hope the owner sees this review and recognises the two of them, and I hope the two young lads also see this and know that they are impressive young men with great potential!

One of the best cafes in Luton I’ll be back again this is now my spot!!

A great brunch spot in Luton to take your family or even with friends. I've tried the full English and the dynamite chicken with curly fries and its been made deliciously everytime. The staff are also very polite and helpful. I'll definitely be coming again - or ordering online!

Been there a few times over the last year and it gets better every time! All the desserts are great, especially the french toast, and the croffle! We also really enjoy their chicken dynamite and the prawn dynamite! The service is amazing - such wonderful staff. They make you feel so welcomed and go above and beyond! Will definitely go there again and again because those desserts are definitely worth it!

My second visit was much better than the previous time. Firstly I’d like to mention Aysha Sufian. What a wonderful young lady you have there. Polite, professional and her customer service is on point. She deserves a bonus. I ordered the Eton Mess that consisted of meringue pieces with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and chantilly cream. By far it was the best Eton Mess I’ve ever eaten from anywhere. To say I’m addicted is an understatement. My partner ordered the Coconut Dream and he loved the delicious crazy cold coconut gelato under the whipped cream topping, interspersed with Rafaello pieces and white chocolate sauce. It did not disappoint until he reached the end of the glass and realised he had eaten it all. He reiterated it was a true pleasure to find a pure coconut delight. The only small issue was our food didn’t come out together (which is never a good thing). So I rated the service 2 stars. So it looks like we will definitely be back for more sooner rather than later. Only thing that needs changing are the menus. They are really worn out and falling apart. I did take pics but chose not to post them. Hope you do something about this.

Visited Luton and went here for a brunch. Average at best. Aesthetically looks nice but the food is average. More effort should be put into improving the food and quality control processes. Price to quality to portion size was adequate.

Best service I have received in a while. Would give more than 5 stars if I could as staff here went out of their way to ac commodate our request. The food was delicious and lots of it. Will definitely recommend and will visit again when I'm in the area to try other things on the menu.

WHY DO I KEEP FINDING HAIR IN MY TAKEOUTS? I love the food but every time I have it as a takeaway there’s hair in the food.

I was served by Ismail, i just wanted to pop a review on for him as I haven't received service like this in a very long time. It really does go a long way to receive such great service. He is a credit to this restaurant.

If I could give negative stars I would. Look carefully in corners and underneath tables and even on the tables, there is the most disgusting dirt everywhere. It's as if nothing is clean and don't get me started on cutlery and plates! I asked for extra plates and they were so disgustingly unclean I couldn't eat from it. Food is sometimes given cold, and there have been countless experiences where I have had hair in my food, I see the chefs leaving the kitchen with no hairnets on, one of them also has a strange extra long nail!!! I feel sick just writing this. Food also leaves you feeling sick, whatever they do in the kitchen is definitely not hygienic. Hafsa who works there was also very unapproachable as it seems she is always preoccupied with another customer and she sits with the lady and talks and eats with her... DONT GO TO BENJAMINS!

I visited Benjamin’s on 2nd December 2024, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. While the interior of the café was okay, the table we were seated at in the corner hadn’t been cleaned when we arrived. A staff member, did clean it after we sat down, but this should have been done beforehand. After we received the menus, the same staff member didn’t approach us to take our order. I had to call her over even though she wasn’t busy at the time. She also failed to offer the brunch menu, which I would have preferred, and didn’t ask about allergens—an essential step in any food service setting. I ordered the Big Ben, which was served cold about 15 minutes later. The sausages were bland and unappealing, the turkey rashers were undercooked and had visible mould, and the mushrooms were forgotten entirely, despite the server promising to bring them later (she never did). The food quality was shocking and not worth the high prices. The three hijabi staff members didn’t seem engaged or professional. When I asked for sauces, one of them sighed as though it was a bother, which made the experience even worse.Lastly, the toilets were in a terrible state. An empty Cadbury hot chocolate container was being used as a bin, and there were no toilet rolls available.

A cozy ambiance with affordable and tasty pastries (good plating 10/10) and coffee. Affogato was not in their menu however they managed to make it. Really good customer service. Will recommend to my colleagues. Place is also instagramable.

Sausages were all uncooked, cold inside and pink in colour. There was extra sausages ordered too and they were all pink too. The chicken thigh piece was all pink and it was raw. When we mentioned all this the lady unfortunately was looking in bothered. We are regular customers but this was terrible. Have lost a lot of regular customers.

Horrible service. Chicken not cooked properly all pink on the inside and COLD! Got a breakfast wrap honestly low tier food. Place is more for ambience rather than food.

I visited Benjamin’s with my partner and was extremely impressed wit Hayyaan high level of service. He was extremely attentive, friendly and efficient. He most definitely is an asset to the company.

Unfortunately I will be giving 3 stars and it’s only because the food was absolutely delicious. I found the staff to be dismissive and not welcoming. The establishment is filthy. Thankfully the food was takeaway as I most surely could not have sat down to eat here. The toilet was extremely dirty and the water in the ladies toilets is faulty. It takes about 2 minutes to pour and when it does it splatters and gushes. It’s a shame because the food was nice. But hygiene is more important to me.

Have been here a few times. The ambiance is lovely and nicely done. The service is spot on as well. The waffles and crepes are really good. The savoury items are not too bad. It is a nice place to go after a meal and enjoy some nice desserts. Parking can be a bit of a hassle as with most places in luton.

It’s my first time in luton and Benjamin is one of the best cafes here. Everything is halal and the staff are extremely nice/helpful. I asked for a sundae and was made exactly as I wanted with no additional costs. Will definitely be back to try the croffel and lunch options when I’m back in the UK. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Each bite was like a hug from the fry gods themselves. And trust me, nothing says "romance" like fighting over the last loaded fry with your significant other. Spoiler: she won. Now, let’s get to the real MVP: *Dynamite Chicken*. Whoever named this knew what they were doing because it absolutely blew our minds! Deep battered and coated in spicy mayo, this chicken has the perfect combo of crunch and kick. It’s like it was sent from heaven, with a little detour through a spice rack. The salad? Fresh enough to make us feel like we’re making a healthy choice (even though we both know we’re here for the chicken). We come to Benjamin’s so often, the staff are starting to think we should have our own table. And honestly? We’re not opposed to it. Get yourself to Benjamin’s and thank me later. I went here today for brunch. It’s a very nice little space. Service was good although a little slow and my table was all served food at different times which was a bit annoying and the drinks came way before any food was put out. Apart from those annoying facts it was a pleasant experience. The milkshakes are delicious and the food is good. Wouldn’t say it was exceptional but it’s good. Would definitely go back.

One of the best coffee shops in Luton, the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, the interior was clean and aesthetically appealing. Food and beverage was an 8.5 out of 10. Would definitely recommend for a family meet up or a brunch with friends.

The milk chocolate and pistachio cookie dough is the best I’ve ever had! Absolutely amazing. The French toast is also sooo good!

It was 8 of us, it took a while for the food to come, even when it come it came one by one so imagine how long it took for 8 of us. Food quality wasn’t too bad, but the meat on the pulled bbq lamb was very chewy and tough. Drinks were good

Great food, especially recommended dynamite chicken with croffle or waffle as well as the French toast with fresh cream. They always give an amazing portion of berries. Only problem is the chicken has a bit too much sauce making it overpowering and a little sickening to finish off, this is for both sweet chilli chicken and dynamite. Other than that amazing portions, great prices, and beautiful aesthetics.

Second time I have visited. A slightly confusing place. Given a breakfast menu at 1300hrs. Would have preferred lunch. The food seems well prepared. Marked down on atmosphere because the whole restaurant area was smoky. Lady on the till said it is because they are not allowed an extractor in the kitchen which seemed odd. Would go back if ventilation is sorted and I could have lunch at lunchtime.

Service was good and the staff were pleasant. Came here a few years ago and the place was a lot busier. Seems to have quitened down considerably. That may have something to do with the prices and portions. I am all for charging a fair price for what you provide but the owners need to rememeber what they are providing and where they are located. For the prices you pay the portions leave a sour taste. Food is ok. Edible but not the best you have tasted.

Stopped by on my travels and was greeted at the door. Order taken very swiftly and food arrived within 10 minutes. Strawberry mocktail was amazing, I ordered “the big ben” breakfast. Did not disappoint!

I've been here before and food was so good that I decided to come back. But this time food was a let down, I ordered dynamite chicken there wasn't much chicken compared to what i got last time. I also ordered halloumi fries that were burnt so I sent them back but was told that's how they are cooked. But they're not cooked burnt I've had them before from here and they were cooked perfectly last time. Usually food is good and that's why we come back so this is constructive criticism about the food because I am planning to come back, just hopefully you take on board the comments.

Impressed with the attentiveness of the staff. We had a baby and little one with us, and were well taken care off. Food is reliable. I prefer Benjamins breakfast and sweet treats over their lunch/mains. Their coffee is great too!

Wrong timings given on google. It does not open on 10 am. I went to Benjamins Dunstable on Saturday at 11 and it was closed.

Ordered a milkshake and asked for a mixture of two flavours, they said it’ll be a £1 extra, which is fine. The total should’ve been £6. When it came to payment, they charged me £8. I asked why I was being charged £2 extra they said £1 for a takeaway cup and £1 for whip cream (which I didn’t ask for). How were they going to give me the milkshake if not in a takeaway cup? Not a huge issue because of the £2, but more as it was underhanded way of over charging a customer and principally wrong.

I visited Benjamins with my family as a pre ramdaan meal. The restaurant was quiet, and had 2 members of staff on the floor. We asked for high chairs, which.. didnt arrive until just before the food arrived, which meant one child was on the lap, and the other was stuffed in the car seat for a prolonged period. A sensible person would assume childrens menus would also be provided..we had to ask for them. We had to wait for around 5 minutes to get the attention one of the two members of staff to place an order, even then the server disappeared then suddenly remembered. The food arrived and unfortunatly for the server, did one of the things i find irritating the most when dining with children, place hot food directly in front of a very young child whos first reaction is to grab! Luckily we had a cold can in front of us, so where able to sooth her hand without a tear. The food was "benjamins style and standard". The portion was a good size, but had a lot of fries. - Maybe add less fries, more of the main topping. We noticed the two members of staff sat down at a table, one was eating whilst the other sat with them back to the customers. - WUUUT!! We did want desserts, then decided against it as it was taking so long getting attention of the one sat with their back to us. When it came to paying, i got up went to the counter, and the staff member couldnt be bothered to walk around the counter, so dealt with things on the front of the counter. - Not exactly the luxery experience, but no biggy! In summary: Overall, the food was, just food. Portions are good sized, but loaded with lots of chips and not enough of the main topping. The real let down was the customer service, or not so much service. It felt lazy and inconsiderate. We wont be rushing back or reccomending any time soon.

Lovely little place to go for desserts and milkshakes. bought the family here after a meal at Nandos and everyone had a good time. staff are very polite and attentive.

We've been going to Benjamin's for a while and their breakfast is alright. We ordered big Ben which was good but the croffle with fried chicken wasn't really good. It felt the fried chicken was old and refried which took the taste away and made chicken really chewy.

I visited and the food was dry and tasteless bad service Waiters were so slow and I had a bad tummy, when talking about the bill the owner was rude

When this place first open its was great food and not too bad price. I went recently and wasn’t really happy with the food. I ordered the dynamite prawns with curly fries. When I first went to the cafe when it opened there was around 10 prawns all battered with the sauce. Now it I only got 5 prawns, and was not battered at all, just some sauce on it. The meal was just full of chips and salad, that did not taste washed. The price has also gone up by £5 or so, really disappointed as it was tasty the first time around.

I have been to Benjamins a few times now and I really enjoy it. Eveytime I visit it just keeps getting better and better. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The staff are always friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. They have a great selection of food, drinks and desserts which are all delicious. Overall, I would definitely recommend giving Benjamins a try. I am sure you will love it.

Very clean inside. I went near closing time so I will try go again at an earlier time. I went after an event within Luton. Ordered the French toast with Nutella and also Kinder sauce. Absolutely amazing!!! Lovey staff too everyone seemed very friendly.

(FOOD POISONING CAUTION) would of scored it -100 stars if i could. FOOD IS AWFUL, NOT FRESH AND SERVED MAJORLY UNDERCOOKED!! Halloumi fries was burnt, prawns stunk, chicken was pink and bloody and hardly cooked. Me and my partner have been violently sick within 4 hours of eating this meal. UNLESS YOU WANT FOOD POISONING PLEASE AVIOD AT ALL COSTS, GO GET A £3.50 MEAL DEAL AND SAVE YOURSELF A TRIP TO A&E...

Very average food. People have mentioned big portions however I felt they were small. French toast was tiny and you only got like 3 blueberries, 2 raspberries and half a strawberry when i got the omelette breakfast meal. Definitely is clean and nicely furnished. No desi breakfast options. Wont probably come again, sorry.

Loaded fries were nice, I ordered hot pepper sauce loaded fries but it wasn’t spicy at all. Overall taste was good. Their mocktails are fresh I ordered passion fruit one.

I booked the private room downstairs for my nephews party. Everything went so well and was amazing. My whole family enjoyed everything. The manager Mo was swift in his responses and made sure everything went smoothly on the day. Staff also accommodated to our last Minute needs.

Our meals arrived and the coffee was open and had spilt entirely in the bag. Both meals are TINY considering the price, one was missing the coleslaw, side salad and sour cream. The chicken in both meals is cold and some pieces look a little sus. Extremely disappointing considering how expensive it all was and how long it took to arrive.

To be honest the food was great from the breakfast to the deserts. The customer service was great food arrived shortly and was piping hot which was good and this was a great lunch will be coming down again hopefully

Went there few days ago. Heard a lot. Upon arrival no service what so ever. Asked a staff for a takeaway menu but she said they don't have a menu and seemed like very annoyed with the question! Tried food was very small portion and expensive according to the portion size ! Bright lighting and fancy decor is not what customers need. Focus should be on food instead. Highly not recommended

Very rude staff very unorganised and food has really deteriorated to a poor standard. The little boy working in the cafe Mohammad really needs to learn customer service skills. Rather than become all confrontational!! Where is the respect for customers? Will never be visiting this place again absolute shambles.
