I found this place to be quite disappointing. The food was extremely bland, and honestly, I think a microwave meal would have been just as filling, if not more, and far cheaper. It certainly didn’t live up to the hype.

Really enjoyable meal and nice cold draught lager here. Stays open a little later than other Indian restaurants in the area so good for a late night stop.

Late night venue that served a great curry. I opted for a garlic chill chicken curry and pilau rice. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Dreadful generic food, ordered chilli chicken and a rezalla, both tasted exactly the same which was basically of nothing, portion sizes decent but you wouldn't want that for food that's bad! Never again

Food really dreadful... we ordered from another nearby restaurant a couple of weeks ago, Cafe Masala, and that was one of the worst meals we’d had... so we thought we’d try the Bengal Village tonight... identical food and really bad again... bengal village shown as closed on here and on deliveroo... suspect the same undercooked and tasteless pap is coming from the same place... complained of course, and owner says he cooked the food personally... for the record... aloo gobi and motor panir had identical sauces... potatoes too hard to eat... king prawn korai was tiny prawns in tomato sauce with a couple of onions and peppers... tasteless... garlic naan had no garlic...

It's a family run takeaway. It's not close to me but I go there because I love the tasty well prepared food. I'd say I prefer it to all the other Indian takeaways in the Richmond and Twickenham area. Definitely worth a visit. I can only say I haven't ever been disappointed!

I have known the food from Bengal Village for the last 40 years, since I was twelve years old. It is always exemplary in quality, always something you can totally rely on. Bengal Village is the business-I would not use any other Indian restaurant anywhere for my takeaway.

I felt I must leave feedback after just having a quick take away from the Bengal village, I am a business traveler who was staying at the Richmond inn hotel, I had spent a few hours in the red cow pub opposite watching the Wednesday night football, I only had a couple of pints came out and felt peckish, After studying there menu from the window , I noticed they do a kebab roll, which I thought would be ideal, I didn’t want to take food back to my room and have the smell lingering all night, my local Indian do a kebab roll, and it’s a great bit of food without having to order several dishes, any how I was not disappointed, I asked them if they could make it in a fresh nan bread, which they truly obliged, honestly it was Devine, better than my local, it had fresh salad coriander and the sweetness of the onions was absolutely mouth watering, a £4.50 snack and better than anything I could have had in the high street and 10 pm in the evening. Well done the Bengal I will be back, I should have said I eat Indian food all over the country and have been to some of the most up market Indian restaurant’s and paid through the nose, this place was just as good.

I read the reviews before trying this place and from the start was a little dubious. The person taking the order had no idea about the menu and kept nipping to the kitchen to clarify the most basic of questions. Address given, headed home for delivery rather than hang around given the long wait. Time came and went so followed up only to discover they didn’t know how to find us and went to the wrong place! When the food arrived it was overcooked and, by this time, cold. All of it went to the plate and straight to the bin. Never again!

Normally love this restaurant and always order from here but last night I was so disappointed. We ordered and they said it would be 45mins..fair enough it was a saturday night. However we called them an hour and a half later, and they say 'the delivery man is walking out the door with your food' Clearly a lie, as it then took another 45mins and it arrived cold. We said we didn't want to pay the full amount and they got angry. We finally gave in and handed over the money, by this point we were starving. Won't be ordering from here again. They either need more staff or not to lie about delivery times!

I live around the corner from this restaurant. and use it every once in a while. The food is neither bad nor great. It'll do in a pinch. BUT....I am laid up and needed to order out. I ordered a few things and the food was delivered about 1 and one-half hours later (remember I live around the corner) after I was told it would be there in 45 minutes. That kind of delay isn't worth the food and the poor service. I will never use this restaurant again.

After moving from Kentish Town and leaving our beloved Gulshaan behind, we were bereft for some time in Richmond. We tried four or five establishments before taking a chance on The Bengal Village after spying it from the window of the Red Cow opposite. The food is always very, very good. What we get, taste-wise, is completely random sometimes (different chefs on different nights maybe?), but it's always excellent. We always go for a butter chicken (sometimes it seems to come tikka'd, sometimes not), saag aloo (lots of spinach, very little oil), bhajis (big, greasy), some sort of naan (standard), meat samosas (very nice) and some other sort of curry. The spice ratings are a bit inconsistent, both on the menu and in the mouth, but we always enjoy what we're given and we wouldn't go anywhere else. The delivery is speedy, the food arrives hot, and the staff are delightful. We're getting takeaway from there tonight - might just ask if they do in fact change their chefs up...

A bit hit and miss from Bengal Village. There is an obvious difference between cooks/chefs. When it is on then the food is amazing, when it is off it fares no better than a ready meal. Been getting take-away from here for nearly 5 years so they must be doing something right. Safron chicken is the business so too is the King Prawn Ceylon.
