Yet again, items missing on collection. Estimated collection times a joke. Never again. Not for the first time but will be the last.

Ordered portion of popadum as usual as i have for the last 10 years only to get home and find its a single popadum instead of the usual 2, i know people may say its just a popadum but for the last 10 years its been 2 to a portion and it is too far to go back after you have had a drink or 20!! Seems they are just giving you less and less for more and more!! ☹️

My partner called up to order an Indian this evening and asked if the food ordered had any nuts in. The guy on the phone was extremely rude and asked if he had it before then proceeded to say we should go somewhere else. Highly unprofessional, rude and we will be avoiding from now on!

The food was well cooked with fresh ingredients . Different flavour of spice This time we tried Tetul chicken was amazing with Garlic Nan, Chicken tikka korai was superb for my partner . Overall excellent food well worth the money, well worth it definitely be back

Here for a week on holiday & got takeaway from here on our first night 16/9 I had the chicken sag my husband the bhuna together with pilau rice & nan bread, it was all delicious, ready for collection when they said it would be & still hot when we got back to our cottage, highly recommended

Just had our first Bengal Balti curry… It was fantastic, amazing flavours, clean and fresh! The staff are knowledgeable and helpful! I’m gluten free and so it can be hard to find a curry house who are truly confident that there won’t be any cross contamination in their kitchen!

Ordered Chicken Hariali and Chicken tikka Massala Peshwari Nan and few complementary items We been to many places this was best Indian We ever tasted good potions as well. Thanks the Chef of Bengal Balti highly recommend this places

lovely chicken tikka masala (apparently) my veg tikka was delicious and the chips were hot and crispy. Popadoms were delicious and fab chutneys ! Would def recommend - read service - prompt and lovely server !

We not been to this takeaway for long . The food was well cooked with fresh ingredients . Different flavour of spice The Makni chicken was amazing with Garlic NaN , lamb Jalfrizy was superb for my partner . Overall excellent food well worth the money.

We’ve been using Bengal Balti for close to 15 years now and although the standard of the food has varied over that time it has remained our favourite Indian takeaway - despite the fact that the food is NEVER ready when they say it will be! However, my last visit was so disappointing it will probably be our last... I ordered a Begum Bahar (quite a hot curry with chicken, aubergine and minced lamb). My wife ordered a Chicken Jalfrezi, two very different dishes. When we got home and unpacked the food the curry’s were almost identical - the sauce was the same colour (not usually the case) and the Jalfrezi had minced lamb in it (never the case!). It appears they cooked just one curry and threw some aubergine in one and some peppers and onion in the other! Negligent or just lazy? Either way we’re going to leave it for a bit.

I've never tried the 'standard' curry dishes because the Bengali chefs specials are fantastic. The spice combinations are made on the premises fresh so the flavours sing.They use fresh chilli, coriander and make their own paneer, which is a bit odd I must say but the bindi and larb are wonderful.

Ordenado en línea, (UM) no hay culpa, pero llegamos a tiempo para recoger, pero tuvimos que esperar otros 30 minutos no contentos con eso. La comida estaba caliente y la mejor que hemos comido aquí. No debería haber tenido que esperar tanto, pero la comida valió la pena. Hubiera sido un gesto amable haber ofrecido algunos pomadoms gratis para la larga espera. Gran curry sin embargo.

Really can recommend this takeaway in Stroud. We all love an Indian but this is something special. Huge unique menu catering for all tastes. Subtle tastes with aromatic spices.Fantastic selection of breads, fish and vegetables. Genuine regional dishes. worth checking out

This used to be an old favourite but it has been in steady decline for a while. Last 4 curries I've ordered had have been really disappointing. My last order was the last straw, I won't be dining here again. Lacked flavour, the chill chicken tasted dodgy and the tarka dahl was flavourless mush - like eating pulped cardboard. Such as shame.

Haven't ordered in a few months, guy that usually works there wasn't there and new person quite blunt. Food also nowhere up to their usual standard. Soggy papaudams, bland curries and a very odd looking raita. Poor food. Poor service. Definitely won't be going back!

Was extremely disappointed with the takeaway tonight. Onion salads felt slimey to the touch and had been made and packaged up days in advance shown by the condensation inside the tubs. The onion bhajis were very greasy and all of the food was just very bland.

I have been going here for years but the last 2 times the food has been bland and non descript ,the final straw was when the Tarka Dal was just a container of yellow liquid with a few lentils at the bottom of the container ,I would of taken it back but the guy serving me had just thrown my change at me so I thought I would be wasting my time ,won't be going back

Purchased a duo of take away curries that should have been totally different..... Both tastes like old stale meat plastered in powdered flavourings and spices, cooked for 5 minutes and attempted a pass off at a real thing. WE WILL NEVER BUY FROM HERE AGAIN- DISGUSTING FOOD, NOT FIT FOR ANYONE OR ANYTHING!

Waited 20 mins longer than I was told! Food wasn’t ready. Given bag. Got home 3 items were not in the bag! Went back! The front of house guy said he gave me the naans and that I was lying! Not appreciated!! Ended up in heated argument! Food otherwise is good!

Ordered chicken sag balti with pilau rice and garlic nan. Very tasty and good value too. Extensive range of dishes plus a vegetarian menu. This is a popular takeaway and I would definitely eat from here again.

Sólo he tenido una mala experiencia con Bengala Balti, que involucró pasada poppadom y horrible cruda de arroz. Pero todas las otras veces ha sido increíble! No ayuda que vivo a pocas puertas de distancia, gastar mucho dinero aquí. Ellos pueden ser muy bruscos por teléfono ya que eran para mí justo antes de escribir esto.

Después de varios intentos de contactar con ellos ayer por la tarde, al final conseguí a través del teléfono y dijo me gustaría pedir una comida para dos. Pedí que me cambiaran de uno de los artículos, y a pesar de ser ningún problema en el pasado, la última noche y me dijeron que no era posible ya que hacer las cosas demasiado complicado! Realmente? No hace falta decir que no era un pedido y encontramos otro lugar localmente, que eran mucho más al cliente orientado. Lo siento bengala, esta fue la última vez que intentará gastar dinero con usted!

He tenido varias veces en el pasado, y todos eran bastante buenas. Sin embargo, llevar la semana pasada fue horrible. Correoso pollo y Sag Paneer, que era de tres tiene mosquiteros parcialmente cocidos, espinacas congeladas, en agua con queso rallado encima. Restaurante enviaba inmediatamente a quejarse, pero no hubo respuesta a mi primera "terrible".

La comida vegetariana es muy muy bueno. Ingredientes frescos en vez de las verduras en conserva que te dan en la mayoría de lugares y prácticamente todo puede hacerse vegetariano. Lo único malo es que es sólo para llevar y puede estar muy concurrido el viernes/sábado a la noche, cuando me he encontrado mejor orden y esperar en la tienda.

Este es mi local y está bien. . . Probablemente sea mejor evitar. Los viernes y sábados a menos que tengas tu pedido antes de las 6 de lo contrario es rara vez listo a tiempo. En el lado positivo de cada comida que he tenido ha sido consistentemente normal!

Recomiendo encarecidamente el Bengal Balti. Gran variedad de carne, platos vegetarianos y vegan. Siempre gustos encantador!

Ordered online, very easy to navigate. Impressed by the extensive choices of food and vegetarian selection (better than most local Indian restaurants). I arrived after 50 mins, the food was ready, the order was correct and the guy behind the counter very friendly and efficient. One of the best tasting meals we have had in Stroud, a bit more spicy, a bit more creative and a lot less oil in the food. Will definitely use them again. One thing could be better, an indication of the time to pick up the food from the online service would be helpful.

Was recommended to great a take away from here, bit reluctant as not found a good Indian since the Monsoon closed in Stonehouse but I have to say this was full of flavour and portions are good service good ordered on line but you can phone orders as well.

We ordered online but the order was incorrect on collection. Staff very unhelpful and food when finally arrived very poor quality. The vegetable curry was just full of tinned chick peas and onions. Rip off and tasteless. No potatoes, cauliflower or fresh vegetables.The staff are inefficient and very unhelpful.

For a number of years this was our fave Indian takeaway! Over the course of our last 3 visits the chicken has been disgusting and has 100% changed, and the service has been appalling. I know they have claimed not to of changed meat supplier but the mean is now inedible compared to before the lovely large chunks of chicken. We though it was a 1 off, 3 orders later and we will not be ordering from them again!

I've eaten here many times and usually the food is faultless but they often get their timings wrong and we end up waiting much longer than the initial time stated.On New Years Day we ordered online (all vegetarian), we arrived to collect the order 30 minutes later as instructed online. It was ready. The customer service was lacking but the food was ready so we didn't mind.Once home I realised they had given us a chicken jaflong instead of a vegetable jaflong – we're strictly vegetarian so this was very disappointing. I called them to tell them of this mistake but I was told that I should've specified online in the 'notes' section that I wanted the vegetable version of the meal, even though I ordered from the vegetarian section of the menu, and there was no instruction to specify in the 'notes' section. When I told him this he didn't seem to care and told me that I should take it up with Chef Online – he was very rude, I couldn't believe he was blaming the customer! In the end I suggested that they should cook up the veggie meal that I originally ordered and they should tell Chef Online to name the dishes more specifically if it's confusing for them when orders come in.Luckily I only live a short drive from the restaurant, so even though it was very inconvenient and the customer service was awful, I went back to the shop as soon as I got off the phone with them and the meal was ready once I got there – less than 10 minutes later.Overall, the food is delicious – the best indian food in Stroud, even though the customer service is atrocious when something goes wrong. I'll give them another chance but will definitely order over the phone.

Ordered takeaway over phone, told 45mins/1hour, went down an hour later and still waited 20 minutes! The food was cold, onion bhaji's hard and impossible to eat, saag aloo incredible salty, Nan bread not cooked!! Have visited a few times before, but never again!!!

Frequented this establishment before and by and large had a positive culinary experience. What has gone wrong?? My partner's words on returning with our take away was 'absolute carnage'!! He was sat in full view of the kitchen as the swing doors were open, he said the staff's clothing was clearly filthy and left him feeling untrusting in hygiene standards. The guy on the counter was completely flustered, folk waiting over 45 mins for a simple order that had been taken by phone, folk were asked to pay more than they had before for same meal they had had lots times previously....the counter was strewn with orders all over and chaos ensued. The counter assistant kept asking what people had ordered.....and to cap it all even when my chap had reiterated our order they got it wrong! My young son said the food was awful tonight and commented on the rubbery chicken....we ordered for 4, not 1 of us enjoyed our meal. I think establishments these days think you are made of money...this take away cost over £40 and was a total let down. We will not be returning to this take away again...that's our way of protesting. As said in the title.....would have been better off having a cheese sandwich this evening!!!

I've been a fan of indian food for a long time - my wife introduced me to it before we got married, so it's around 25 years now - and in that time I've had many meals of both sit down and take-away varieties. This particular takeaway just hits the button every time - and has recently gone all high-tech, with the ability to order online. The range of food is wider than you find at some Indian restaurants, and includes some absolutely fabulous vegetarian options.

This take away has good but average food with good prices and kind owner. Liked the spicing but lacks fresh ingredients.

Just thought I would write a quick review and say wonderful food , its the first time I have used them , having moved to Stroud last year and been very disappointing with the take aways I have had upto know .....Cant recommend enough !

For a takeaway Indian, I would go nowhere else... The food is immense and the lovely guy who is the front of house is very efficient.We always upgrade the Naan Breads and have talk of the town, great value and the best quality. So good.

Definitely best indian takeaway in town and well worth a visit.Only downside is theres not much parking

We have lived in Stroud for 4 years now, and have always passed Bengal Balti by, and gone to the supposedly better quality restaurants. After one of them had let me down again last week, i read the reviews and thought I would give it a go. What a revelation. Great food, the souh Indian style curry was fantastic and really authentic. friendly service, and very reasonable prices. Take my advice, dont go anywhere else!

We heard that the food here was good- well it really is!We tried this for 6 meals on Saturday night, and everyone confirmed that this place is really special.Tandoori, Balti and Curries were all excellent, and served with a smile.Highly recommended

My family absolutely love the Bengal balti! If we're having an Indian this is where we're ordering from. The prices are good, the deals are good, the service is good and the food is just amazing! I prefer a mild curry and won't have one unless it's from this place, the korma is perfect for me especially on the talk of the town menu! My dad however will sit there enjoying a vindaloo! So just goes to show the consistency of quality whatever the spice! The Bengal balti is so good that we still have them despite the fact we've moved to Cirencester! One of us will pick it up after work because it's worth it compared to other local Indians!

Only living a few hundred meters away this is our go to takeaway. They always meet the ever higher expectations and we always love the food. They have a big veggie menu too which is good. Always coming back!

The Bengal Balti never fails in preparing delicious dishes. It is, in my opinion, the best takeaway in town.My last order included the Nepali chicken which was fragrant and spicy with pieces of gorgeous lemon skin. Yummer!I've always found the service to be excellent, with friendly and chatty staff. Highly recommended!

We stumbled acrossed Bengal Balti last year and what a great find it was! On the side of a main road, behind shutters through out the day, this place is full of flavour come evening! We tried a few different (recommended) Indian restaurants in stroud and nailsworth but was always left disappointed. Bengal Balti is by far the best curry house! We've had loads of take aways from here and they never disappoint. Great service, great food and great value for money. Keep up the good work guys, don't change a thing

We have used this takeaway several times and have had the odd blip, but overall it has been good. Last night however, was a huge disappointment! We had a friend visiting and ordered a set meal for 3 at 6.20 pm and was told it would be ready for collection in 50 minutes. My husband arrived there an hour later and was told, with no apology, that the meal was not ready. The person behind the counter seemed reluctant to say how long it would be and my husband had to ask twice as to when the meal would be ready. Eventually he was told 25 minutes! The person behind the counter then proceeded to add up the cost of the order so that he could take the money........no way! By this point my husband was extremely annoyed and left. The takeaway was extremely busy with people waiting, but this food had been ordered over an hour earlier. There was no apology, just complete indifference. The upside is that we went to a local pub that we had not visited before and had a fabulous meal. Your loss Bengal Balti!!

I frequently get take away from Bengal Balti and find their dishes to be some of the best curries available in Stroud, at reasonable prices. They do not have a sit-down restaurant, just take-away. The staff are polite and friendly on the phone and in person. The menu has a good variety of tasty food including less spicy curries. They always package their takeaways well, so no spillages in the car on the way home!

Man at the counter was very helpful, and (as vegans) this was really great. They use vegetable ghee and can substitute coconut milk for cream, so this was fantastic. Have a vegan korma! Delicious. Papadums light and fluffy, felt fresh and nourishing, food not tooo greasy.Also v. cheap, and pretty short wait (20 mins). One downside is that they don't have menus online, but there are plenty when you go in, inc. vegetarian ones and non-veg ones. There's a reason they have won awards. Do bear in mind it's strictly a take-away and there's no seating for eating.

We have been regulars at Bengal Balti for around 8 years and found it to be the best Indian take-away in the area. About a year ago, the management changed and we started to experience problems with missing items from our orders, over-cooked papadums etc. To his credit, the manager would put things right when I bought it to his attention. However, the last straw was when I got home and sat down and served up my vegetable dhansak (we are strict vegetarians). I was about to put what I thought was a piece of potato in my mouth when I realised it was chicken! We had been given a chicken instead of vegetable dhansak. I telephoned immediately and the manager asked me what I wanted to do about it, which I thought was a bit of a strange response. I was a bit baffled but as this meal was completely ruined I said he could replace a curry and rice free of charge on my next order. He agreed and said he would remember and just to ask him when I placed my order. A few weeks went by and I phoned up for an order and he did not remember! I had to explain to jog his memory. Anyway, when I went to pick up my order I had hoped that as we are regulars and the horrendous mistake that had been made last time in addition to the 'talk' the manager gives about how they care about customer service, that we would receive the entire order for free by way of compensation. I was merely given the vegetable dhansak and rice for free, the rest of the order (which was not excessive) we were required to pay in full. When I mentioned my dissatisfation he explained that they could not compensate us in any way due to the fact it had been a few weeks since we last ordered!This take-away has got even busier since the new management took over. Parking nearby is often difficult and dangerous. I feel that the kitchen staff are over-stretched and this is why the mistakes keep being made, however, there is no excuse for poor customer service. Although the manager talks about customer service I do not feel he really understands how to deliver it, certainly not to us who were previously one of his regular customers. The previous management never mentioned customer service at all, as they did not need to because they just got on with delivering good service every time. Regrettably, we will not be using Bengal Balti again due to the incident with the chicken dhansak which was the final straw and unsatisfactory customer service to one of their (previous) regular customers!

Mixed kebab were good, poppadom were ok. Disappointed with main courses - ordered chicken kodu goost but got beef eben though beef not a choice on the menu! Chicken Jalfrizy a bit too hot. Chicken balti korai a bit too hot for daughter who usually loves korai.Was really looking forward to takeaway after reading glowing reviews but came away disappointed...

The very best Indian takeaway, I have been going to the Bengal Balti for five months and the food is consistently brilliant. It doesn’t matter what day of the week you go the curry is perfect! I have tried the other Indian restaurants in Stroud and this beats them all hands down. Thank you to all the team 10/10 A++++++

Phoned for a takeaway, and placed my order. Was told to collect in 25 minutes.Arrived to a lovely polite guy, who promptly gave me my order of Chicken Chat (main) Singapore fried Rice. Peshwari Naan Bread. and 1 x popadom (we got given 2!). Service was second to non, the food was hot, and ready on time for collection. 10/10 for this Indian takeaway :) My husband and I share this meal, as there is PLENTY for two people. It was very hot, and very fresh !!!!

Having stopped going out to our favourite Indian resturant because of the decline in its food, we decided to try out the bengal Balti as our children rated it excellent and they should know as they have been eatting Indoan food since they were weened. I must add to their claim that the food is consistantly fab nno matter which dish you order, the rices are fluffy and not sticky lumps.This has been a Friday night routine since August 2012 and thus far still serves up clean tasty food and never gets the orders wrong.

Really nice curry and sides. Lamb Vindaloo was as hot as it should be, Keema Naan stuffed full of meat, and the Tarka Dal is amazing. Great service, the chap behind the counter is really friendly and professional. Better than the average Indian takeaway...

One of the best Indian / Bangladeshi takeaways I've had. We visit regularly, and I love the breadth of choice on the vegetarian menu - I'm making a conscious effort to work through all the different dishes. The labra (aubergine, okra, spinach, lentils) is my favourite staple. I can also highly recommend the sobji jalahle for something a bit different, if yoy don't mind hot chilli taste - the fresh orange flavour is very distinctive.Potential customers should note that Bengal Balti only does takeaway, no sit-down service. Food is usually read for collection 20-30 minutes after ordering.

In the US, we have Chinese take-out and pizza. In the UK, there are "chippies" and Indian takeaway. I'm ready to move.This was my first experience of Indian takeaway, and other restaurants will be hard-pressed to surpass my delight. Wow. The food was sublime---fresh and obviously made to order. I have never had better naan. The complexity of spicing---the tenderness of the meat--every part of me was happy when I finally pushed myself away from the table.I must mention the customer service---my hostess didn't bring quite enough cash when we picked up our food. I offered to run back to the car to get my wallet. It was raining cats and dogs---what's new in Glos?!--and the nice man behind the counter told us "not to worry." It was only a couple of quid, but who does that? People who care about customer satisfaction, that's who.This was a GREAT introduction to Indian chow in Britain!
