Came in for brunch, got a cosy table, atmosphere was good. Service was decent. Food was alright.

Lovely Sunday lunch and lots of choice and good service and friendly staff and good family meet up. We will be back.

Always a decent spot to pop in for a beer and watch the footy. The outside area with the big screen is an added bonus, just a shame the pub isn't on the other side of the road in the common as the pub garden is good, but on a busy main road.

We went with our mum who had a bad funny turn there. We were in awe of Casey who straight away called. an ambulance and took control of the whole situation with ease. Making sure our mum ,us and nearby customers were ok whilst moving tables and chairs to give mum privacy. She kept on line with 999 and answered questions clearly and correctly. What an asset to the pub. She also took our number and phoned us the next day to see how mum was and if we were all ok. Can't thank this young lady enough

My Mother in Law had a medical situation during a family meal. Casey took control of the situation in a very professional manner. She offered us any assistance we needed, & as the situation escalated she cordended off the area we were sat in, called an ambulance & gave clear & accurate instructions to the call handler. Her calmness during a tricky situation & the way she went above & beyond to manage the situation should be not only be commended but reported to the Area or National management team. A truly outstanding member of The Bellemoor staff!!

Great food, service and atmosphere. Only let down was the three empty parking spaces for battery cars only, so I had to park opposite the college. Other than that a lovely evening on 13th Feb with friends from Germany, who loved the Shepherds pie 👍

Great atmosphere, plenty of seating inside and outside. Good food and beer selections, as well as other beverages available.

1st visit for couple of years with family. Noticed very few staff on a busy wet day. Some drinks not available & when ordered food, took a while & asked for sauces that never arrived & chased my cappuccino after 20 minutes. Tables not cleared of glasses pre food served. Very young untrained staff so not their fault appeared to be no manager around. Used for years when visiting family great venue after walking in the park, but misjudged the staffing levels!!!!

Too loud - roaring adverts and everyone has to raise voice. Appalling.

Good, steady, local pub with a decent choice of beers and helpful, friendly staff. Half the place is laid out as a restaurant, half as a pub and tons of seating outside for warmer months. Perfectly placed right opposite the common for a swift one after a walk.

It's a really nice, friendly and clean venue that's suitable for various occasions, whether it be to watch a big sporting event, go for a nice meal or just a pint with the lads after playing footy on a Saturday afternoon! Very close to Southampton Common too, so handy if you've been to an event there like one of the music festivals or sporting events like the Southampton 10k or one of the "inflatable assault courses" that tour the country and fancy a pint or two but think "The Cowherds" on the other side is a bit too posh, pricey and/or poncey! The staff are polite and helpful, and while I didn't get any food this time around I'm definitely going to have to go back at some point and try it because it smells amazing! Highly recommended 👍🏻👍🏻

Came here for some drinks with some friends last week. Parked in the car park. Got a £100 parking fine. There is an abundance of free parking on Hill Lane in the evening so people parking in their carpark at this time are obviously visiting the pub. Completely unnecessary and outrageous. You are meant to register your vehicle at the bar. Maybe some more obvious signage for this would be useful.

What wonderful staff served us last night. We had a meal and were served by Zac and Ash. They were very attentive and friendly. Drinks and food arrived in good time. Food was of a good standard and overall a great experience. Would come again.

Fantastic meal at the Bellemoor. Had one of the specials which was pulled lamb shepherds pie served with vegetables. Perfect for a cold winters day. Served by Ashley who has only been there a short time but he is an asset they need to keep hold of. Nothing was two much trouble and he was happy to deal with any requests regarding dietary requirements etc. Will visit again.

This was our first visit. Service was very good. Good selection of drinks. Food was week prepared and attractively served. Overall ambience was relaxed. Would definitely visit again.

I went earlier this week with a group of 8 friends and we all really enjoyed our meal. I went back three days later with another friend and it was equally good. Lunch menu delicious and great value. Helpful staff and prompt service , will definitely be revisiting

The Bellemoor pub was closed on the 19th of December due to water issues in the area that were out of their control, which meant my work colleagues and I missed our Christmas meal. we had to reschedule in January and we were very lucky that the restaurant honoured the Christmas menu and allowed us to continue with our celebrations. The food was fantastic portions, and the staff Craig, Casey and James were very attentive and friendly.

The food was good but I had a piece of red hot pepper in my chicken goujons and we didn't realise it was a sports bar!!!

We visit the pub regularly quiz night birthdays Christmas summertime staff work so hard so pleased with the service the pub gives thank you looking for the 12th of January celebrating my birthday

Every time we come here the food and service is really good. Parking is limited so best to try and find a place in the road, where parking is free. You can get waitress service in the restaurant area (best to book for this), or order at the bar for eating in the bar area. This is a very popular place to eat. In fine weather we've sat outside to eat, but it's in a busy road so a bit noisy. PS if park8thing in the car park, remember to enter your car details at the bar.

I came in to celebrate my friend finishing her PhD and had a great time. Food and service was amazing and a very Christmassy atmosphere. Steve served me and was great!

I was asked to call to confirm booking meals has been received via the app. I tried 15 times over a week before someone called me about some food shortages, meaning some of the party had to consider other options. That's fair enough it happens. On arrival we were one chair short for the booking but then when the starters came out they cooked for a party member we had already cancelled by phone and email. So would have been two down. We were asked by three members of staff if we wanted drinks. Ordered them the first visit so didn't need on 2nd or 3rd. This was in a very short time frame not over the whole visit. Starters all arrived OK, not counting the additional one. We agreed to go ahead to have the main meals prepared. Waited 15 minutes and someone else came and asked if we were ready to have our meals plated. Explained we already had agreed this with another. Another 15 minutes and someone else came and asked the same thing. At this point no mains had arrived and we weren't convinced anything had been done. One of our party finally went to ask at the bar and was then told by someone else they were being plated up. We decided to say yes to puddings as soon as the mains arrived as didn't want another 30 minute wait and repeat questions after the meal. One of team leaders was very understanding and did comp the drinks and extra discount but still not somewhere i would recommend to anyone with gusto...

Met with a friend, had dinner and bottle of sparkly wine and enjoyed a catch up. Lovely evening good food and great location

Overall a very good pub/restaurant had a great time with friends - good food.

This is a cosy local pub with great atmosphere. Lots of locals here and a great selection of draft ales and ciders. The toilets are clean. The only down side is how expensive and disappointing the wine is. I was informed he house Malbec was sold out so was given a bottle of 2023 mendoza. We paid £23 for a £5 worth bottle of Malbec that had vinegar taste and gave a big headache. I also often have to ask for a new glass when I come here here because you get a hot a wet one with lipstick stains. I think you can do better…Or perhaps charge less for this sad wine. The manager was nice and took photos for us after this shift.

Love this pub! Food is always good, i’ve had most things on the menu and all very good. Kids meals are also good. Staff are very friendly and give brilliant service every time i visit. We had breakfast with Santa 9 adults and 5 children! The service and food was still brilliant even at the busiest time of the year. Highly recommended.

We were seated quickly and our orders taken the drinks and food arrived quickly .The food and presentation was excellent and the food tasted amazing the best roast we have had in a long time .

Only 2 of 3 starters arrived The staff ask for extra drinks and walk off when one person said anything he did not wait for the other guest to ask

The bellmoor Shirley is a great pub to go too. The atmosphere and people makes it what it is. They always have quizzes or things going on for entertainment and going above and beyond for service. Plus there sunday roasts are to die for. Would recommend to all.

We haven’t been to the Bellemoor as a family for over a month now. We are regulars. Yesterday and today we as a family had to spend long days at the hospital so we decided to book to eat there this evening 23rd November. When entering the pub the staff are welcoming and attentive especially as it was very busy this evening. All staff behind the bar and waiting staff were lovely. What let everyone down massively was the food. I usually take pictures of everything but I didn’t on this occasion as the food came out later for myself, mum and dad although we ordered it within seconds apart from my aunts. My steak was a disgrace. Not worth more that a £5 I say!!! I asked for a medium rare it was well cooked and tough. ****I THOUGHT NO POINT TO SAY ANYTHING AS THIS IS SUPER BUSY HERE THIS EVENING***** My mum said her fish and chips her fish was very chewy and hard the peas were not cooked enough and very dry. My aunty had the same as me steak she did not like hers either. WE WILL NOT BE EATING HERE AGAIN!!! Good for an old get together for a few drinks just about!!!

Diabolical and racist, staff refused to serve me all upon the assumption of cannabis smell, two guys walk past me 20 mins after i arrive snd because they know me from school she refused to serve me, asked about the no tolerance policy and couldnt explain the actual policy. No drugs were found. No drugs were smoked. No one had anything on them but as i probably stick out from the rest being a larger guy. They insisted that it was me and my “party” i explained to them to check me if they was really invested. Really upset with this pub. Was coming here for years. One staff member who was finishing even tried to get in my face and argue with me!!!! This place needs new management or at least some re training. No wonder u never see any ethnic minority in there!!!

Not sure what went wrong today? Popped in for a breakfast, which we have done before and have been really pleased with the food. However today, it was served on a small rectangular plate. The fried eggs were not runny, the beans looked they had been sat in a pan simmering for hours but somehow were still served luke warm. The butter was rock hard and unspreadable! As we were having a conversation the waitress wanted the menus for some unknown reason, only to return them again, wanting us to put them back in the holder. Why this couldn't wait until we left , I don't know? The coffees were barely warm and more froth than actual coffee. Very disappointed!

We love this place, beautiful welcoming pub. We have been here a few times before for dinner as a couple. Last weekend we hosted a group event here with thirty people including children. We had warm welcome, they reserved a big enough area for us which was also pet friendly. The food and drink are great with good value for money, and the service is also very good. Additionally you can find plenty of free car parking on the street, and get a nice walk in the Southampton Commons on a nice day. We will definitely host large events in this pub. Thank you for your hospitality.

Popped to the Bellemoor as a first time patron as I was in the area for work. The place has a very warm atmosphere. Delightful service from the girls on the bar. Great ale selection. As a first time patron. I somehow missed the many signs highlighting registering your number plate for parking. Steve very kindly corrected my error days later. I will certainly be attending again in the future when I'm in the area.

Today, Sunday 13th October, we called in with the chance of getting a table. With success we ordered a couple of drinks with roast dinners. The service was really good and the food arrived very quickly. It was one of the best roast dinners we have eaten. Definitely would recommend a visit.

The service was good, there were a variety of beers and other drinks. The main was good - I took a rump steak that was well cooked, but the side was a bit small. The dessert was average, I ordered Eton Mess, that did not have any fresh berry. Overall good experience but not excepional so 4 starts.

An excellent visit to the Bellemoor this evening. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and seated in the restaurant. Drinks flew out and options on beers clearly explained and recommendations given. I ordered the chicken burger and explained I had an allergy which was taken seriously and discussed with the kitchen. Food came out hot and the kitchen has cranberry sauce in to my delight. Craig looked after us and he did the venue proud. Great customer service, food and value for the price. Definitely will visit again

Finally got round to stopping in. This pub is on a route I take often and tonight I thought yep let’s give it a try and I’m glad we did! Pulling up there is a car park to the side of the venue of which you pop your number plate in at the bar, isn’t a massive car park but there are bays outside. I’ve seen this car park full as this place gets busy. Greeted by friendly staff and our waiter was a guy called Craig, attentive, excellent customer service & made you feel welcomed. Venue is warm, well decorated and clean Insta and watched the team clear tables as customers left and clean them down - great. Food was above what I expected for ‘pub grub’. A very enjoyable burger, crispy fries and perfect onion rings. Great value for money and I will be back for another dinner soon enough. Well done to the team indeed, other pubs locally in Southampton need to take note.

We came along for dinner as one of my friends is getting married - the manager (Steve?) was welcoming and allowed us to bring a balloon and some gluten free wedding cupcakes (we did order ice cream to go with them). The food was lush and the service was good. It was nice to see a familiar face in Jagoda, who was doing an excellent job. So, good food, good service, nice pub - what else could we wish for!

The food is ok although I was handed a steak knife for my rib of beef 🍖 witch I had to use ! It was chewy and not what I would expect from rib of beef ! Very tasty though !

Really relaxing pub. Modern casual decor, with a covered outside area to eat. The food was excellent. Great service (our waitress Soph was very attentive). Reasonable prices. Nice toilets, (with thoughtful touches in the ladies' toilets). A small car park, but on the road parking just nearby. Southampton Common is just next door - a great place for a walk. Would highly recommend.

Popped in for lunch food and service excellent

Great pub, great location for post walk drinks on the common. Atmosphere is good but, because it is popular can very busy on special occassions ie Christmas Eve or the like. Has screens for Sport and a fantastic outside area,with heaters, that is mainly undercover so even good in the rain. If you're not kid or dog friendly avoid on a hot sunny day as they'll be out in force 😀

It's a lovely pub with a nice atmosphere but when they serve the food, they then go away again to get your cutlery and condiments, just bring it before so we can tuck in! £4 for a pint of lemonade is so wrong. Like I said, lovely pub thoe.

My friend and I often come to the Bellemoor on a Friday afternoon (with the dog). Through me not paying attention I wrote my friend's reg plate in wrongly last time we came and she got a parking ticket ! I rang Steve at the the pub and all sorted and cancelled within 4 minutes ! Not only is our eating experience great but so is the extra service!

Haven't visited for many years - it is so much better than it used to be years ago. It is now a place I would choose to take friends; good food for dining, helpful staff, pleasant atmosphere, competitive pricing.

There were five of us having lunch here today. Parking was easy, there was a good welcome and drink orders at the bar were quick. There is a varied and good menu reasonably priced, we had four different meals and each one was excellent, the food was hot, well cooked and well presented. Good service from all staff from ordering drinks, ordering food, receiving food to paying the bill. We will certainly be returning very soon and I highly recommend all aspects of our visit. Although we did not use them there were lots of lovely tables and chairs outside which was ideal on a lovely sunny day.

Ten of us oldies met here for the first time, for our bi-annual reunion, travelling from Haslemere, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Chandlers Ford. A large round table had been reserved in a cosy recess. The waitress was friendly and efficient (tall, long dark hair) and the food was brilliant. (Some saying the gammon was the best they had ever tasted). My beef and ale pie was to die for as was the crumble, all at a very reasonable price. Free parking on site. So an excellent time had by all. THANK YOU - "We'll be back!"

We had a lovely time. The food was delicious and the waitress was funny and efficient. I forgot to put my registration in when I came into the pub and called and spoke to Bree who sorted it.

Doesn't look animal friendly. Didnt get offered any service when I arrived and sat outside.

My Mum and I had another lovely meal. The staff were really attentive. It was quite soon after opening so the pub wasn't that busy, but the staff were all keeping busy cleaning shelves and woodwork before the busy bit kicked in. Special mention to James behind the bar who took the time to have a chat with my Mum. The server recommended the pesto chicken, which Mum went on to have. She said it was really tasty. We'll be back.

Spent a great afternoon, sat outside drinking and eating with friends whilst watching the Olympics on their giant outdoor TV. Only comment - if you drive and park next door don't forget to pay or register your car at the bar, otherwise there could be an expensive fine. Great follow up customer service when I phoned to discuss the parking.

Terrible so called nachos, one of the worst pies I have ever had in my life, the beef bourguignon came with the sadist driest piece of meat, the plate was dirty, the pint glass had lipstick on it, was served by the most miserable manger, must avoid, would be embarrassed to work here.

We stopped off for a quick evening meal and a drink on a busy Sunday evening. The wait for the food was OK taking into consideration we arrived just 20 minutes before the kitchen closed. The food itself was fine, nothing outstanding but equally nothing wrong at all. The waitress was pleasant. We did have to clear our own table to sit, but the evening quiz was in full progress at the time.

Standard Greene King menu in a pleasant setting. Tables are well spaced and there's a nice variety of comfortable seating. Food was pleasant but nothing special and service restricted to delivery of food and drinks - competent but impersonal. Overall an average pub lunch in a slightly above average setting.

I have visited Tavern to try the "award winning pie" and honestly it was very disappointing the mash was allright not really creamy , tenderstem broccoli could use a bit of s&p and the pie itself, nice big chunk of pastry with granulated gravy on the side , i went for a beef and ale pie and there was literally 4 tiny cubes of beef inside the pie i doubt it was even 100g of meat inside , i would rather have this pie 20% smaller pay more and get proper bit of steak inside , unfortunately big disappointment pastry with gravy for 13£ sounds very steep flour is not expensive and it felt like the whole meal was at least 70% flour (considering mash and broccolis on the side) wouldn't come back again .

Whether for a quick coffee or a family meal for ten, food and service is always good. Food is priced fairly and the bar area is dog friendly too. Just make sure you remember to log you car registration at the bar😉.

Incredibly disappointing experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt unwelcome. The staff seemed uninterested and inattentive, barely acknowledging my presence. When our food finally arrived, it was lukewarm and bland.

Really lovely place to call in for lunch. We stopped here for lunch after singing with Rock Choir at Southampton Race For Life. Very nice atmosphere and good menu.

We had a small family get together & met here for lunch. It was extremely busy due to an event going on, on the common. Luckily we had booked. The staff were really stretch but coped very well & we still had very good service. The food was delicious as usual.
