Belle Vue Bistro in Swansea

Mi pareja y yo fuimos ayer con la intención de comer. Como sin gluten debido a la enfermedad celíaca y este restaurante solía ser absolutamente increíble por ofrecer alternativas sin gluten a casi todos sus platos. El restaurante ha sido tomado por los nuevos propietarios y claramente no tienen la misma comprensión que el anterior. Al reservar pregunté si todavía tenían un menú sin gluten debido al cambio de propietario y me aseguraron que no habría problemas. Al llegar pedí el menú sin gluten y me mostraron el menú vegano en el menú principal. Reiteré que necesitaba el menú sin gluten y me dijeron que podían ofrecer un plato de pasta y un plato de pizza. Espantoso. La camarera parecía despistada. El chef se acercó a discutir conmigo y no me dio fe en que estaría segura para comer en este restaurante. Seguía redirigiendo la conversación de vuelta al menú vegano, preguntando si alguno de nosotros era vegano y parecía tener muy poca comprensión cuando se hablaba de enfermedad celíaca o comida sin gluten. En general, un servicio terrible y una falta masiva de comprensión cuando se trata de comer sin gluten y ofrecer alternativas de alimentos sin gluten. Es una pena enorme ya que este restaurante solía ser increíble cuando se trataba de cenar sin gluten. Nunca lo volveré a visitar.

Myself and my partner went yesterday with the intention of having food. I eat gluten free due to coeliac disease and this restaurant used to be absolutely incredible for offering gluten free alternatives to almost every one of their dishes. The restaurant has been taken over by the new owners and clearly they don’t have the same understanding as the previous. Upon booking I asked if they still had a gluten free menu due to the owner change over and I was assured that there would be no issues. Upon arriving I asked for the gluten free menu and was shown to the vegan menu on the main menu. I reiterated that I needed the gluten free menu and was told that they could offer one pasta dish and one pizza dish. Appalling. The waitress seemed clueless. The chef then came over to discuss with me and gave me no faith in that I’d be safe to eat in this restaurant. He kept redirecting the conversation back to the vegan menu, asking if either of us were vegan and seemed to have very little understanding when discussing coeliac disease or gluten free food. Overall appalling service and a massive lack of understanding when it comes to gluten free eating and offering alternatives of gluten free food. It’s a huge shame as this restaurant used to be amazing when it came to gluten free dining. Will never revisit.

Although we was the only couple in the restaurant.. the staff was very welcoming, and friendly.. the food was absolutely amazing and could not fault it at all. Proper fresh and made all from scratch. Highly recommend and would definitely come back again.! The prices are worth it..

Disappointing experience. Overall the food was hit and miss, especially the portions. For example, you're paying £15 or so for a burger and a handful of chips on a tapas plate, yet other dishes similarly priced will see you with an actual plate with adult portions of chips and salad. The food was also overcooked, the blue cheese had been cremated. The guy serving was attentive, however the service from the lady was the opposite. For example, new cutlery was put at the end of the table where we then had to DIY hand them to everyone. For what you're paying, you'd expect better.

Had an amazing experience at Belle Vue Bistro! The pasta was delicious, the mocktail was refreshing, and the service was top-notch. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot to dine. I will definitely visit again

Average. Quality could have been better considering the prices. The pasta was a bit too salty, the ice cream didn’t have a creamy texture. Pepsi was warm. Overall it was okay but probably wouldn’t come here again.

Excellent service and surroundings here. We only called for a light bite at lunchtime but the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and attentive, lid not the best positioned in town but worth the extra stroll up the Kingsway. New owners. Good Luck

Un lugar encantador para visitar para una comida con amigos o familiares. Mi marido y yo fuimos a cenar el 19 de diciembre de 2024. Teníamos buena comida casera todo recién horneado. Tuve paté y tostadas como entrante que estaba muy sabroso, luego una pizza de piña y jamón... era una porción generosa y muy bien cocinada. Para terminar compartimos un delicioso pastel de queso con una salsa de caramelo... estaba muy morado, no tenía mucho espacio para él realmente, pero era demasiado delicioso para declinar! Mi marido tenía una lingüina de pollo y tocino en una salsa cremosa de ajo que dijo que era delicioso ... y también era una porción muy generosa. Hay una buena gama de comidas para seleccionar a precios muy razonables, con una gama de opciones veganas también .. algo para todos. El personal es muy amable, acogedor y no puede hacer lo suficiente para usted ... que es difícil de encontrar en estos días . Buena comida, precios razonables y un ambiente acogedor Recomiendo encarecidamente una visita ... Sin duda volveremos.

Highly recommend! We ordered the chicken mushroom pasta, and they tasted amazing. The staff was so friendly and kind.

Great food, and very reasonably priced.

Restaurante muy bien decorado. Camareros amables. Bonita pasta. Sin embargo, hay mucho margen de mejora - una pizza vino con ingredientes equivocados, y los 'Starters' se sirvieron con el plato principal! No es pizza auténtica - prácticamente no hay salsa de tomate, y demasiado cheddar (además de esperar mozzarella fresca en un italiano). Luego, se sirvieron postres sin quitar los platos principales. Las cervezas se servían como botellas muy grandes y el menú de postres no indicaba el precio. Era caro. Esperemos que dentro de unos meses este restaurante mejore, ya que podría convertirse en un gran italiano!

Incredible food and service. My child is coeliac and enjoyed a lovely bowl of pasta she could have had pizza but chose pasta. No gluten free garlic bread but she was happy with her pasta.

Esta moderación no fue buena. El servicio me pareció terrible. Porque mientras ordenaba mi comida, que tenía un filete de solomillo, no me preguntaron cómo me gustaría que se cocinara. El ambiente del restraunt me pareció que no era genial. También me pareció que el servicio no era muy amable. Cuando llegó la comida estaba muy sosa, seca, no se le hizo ningún condimento a nada de la comida. En general no vendría aquí agian y no se lo recomendaría a nadie.

Booked a table for 7 for a family birthday meal. Lovely greeting on entry and as we pre picked our food we’re seated and served in 20 minutes. Food was fresh and tasty and great choice on the menu at competitive prices. lovely welcoming experience and will definitely visit here again. Staff superb

First time to dine here this evening. It was lovely. 5* for all areas. It ticked all our boxes. Thank you to all. Fried salted doughballs on the menu would make it just perfect.

First time visit and it wont be my last. The food was fantastic. My vegan friend is a frequent visitor, loves the place and I can see why. Am already thinking about my next visit to Swansea which will include a visit to Belle Vue Bistro

Went for a carb load pre half marathon the next day. Just wanted somewhere that did pasta but this surpassed all expectations. Food was brilliant and staff were so friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend.

My favourite restaurant in Swansea! Absolutely gorgeous and such a hidden gem just off the beaten path, the food is stunning and even meals you might not normally like taste incredible! I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

The Belle Vue Bistro serves great food, in a relaxed friendly atmosphere. I went for lunch on Saturday with 2 friends (who hadn't been here before) we were all so impressed. Richard really looked after us, nothing was too much trouble & Paul cooked us each really delicious meals. We will be back !!

In Swansea for a competition and we booked here as a group of 12. We were accommodated with ease. Great staff and service. Food was superb. So good several of us went back the next night for seconds! Thanks Paul and Yvonne.

We had a fantastic meal at Belle Vue this evening. The service was brilliant, the staff were lovely and welcoming. The venue had a fantastic atmosphere, really laid back. The food was great, all 4 of us had different mains which we all thoroughly enjoyed, followed by 2 different really tasty puddings. Would definitely recommend this place- lots of choice for all tastes!

Another fantastic dining experience @ The Belle Vue Bistro. 4 of us went, I had been before so recommend we go to my 3 friends who hadn't been before, they really enjoyed themselves. A really delicious freshly-cooked meal in a lovely restaurant. The staff could not have been more helpful, friendly and responsive, the food was delicious, staff were really accommodating and the pina coladas were perfect! We were in Swansea for a night, the city restaurants were rammed, but this is a short walk away and absolutely recommended. The smoked fish risotto was YUM, we had delicious pizzas, and there’s a varied menu. Would definitely visit again!!

Booked a table for 2 on December 22nd, food was absolutely delicious, the snickers bread and butter pudding especially was a delight, service and atmosphere 5* cannot wait to return.

Our choir Christmas dinner was here, this year and last year. There around 20 in the group. We had excellent service, well prepared food, freshly cooked. They coped well with a wide selection of food. Reasonably priced. Friendy and efficient service. Diolch am wasanaeth a bwyd ardderchog.

Average at best. It’s not all bad, the restaurant itself is nice, and my son loved looking out at the cars going past. We went here for a family dinner. We were unfortunate enough to have spilt a drink before our food arrived. We used napkins to clear up, and were not offered a cloth or replacement napkins. My drink arrived flat (without fizz) and the 2 pizzas arrived barely warm, as if they’d been cooked and left sitting for a long time before coming out. Kids meal was minuscule, grossly overpriced at £6. We ordered a second kids meal (Bolognese pasta) which came out and was like soup - pasta soup. We sent it back and made a swift exit. Chips were good, about the only thing that was warm and cooked properly when it came out. To summarise, service was poor, and food was average at best. Really disappointed as we had high hopes.

We went for a family catch one evening in September. The ambience and welcome was professional and friendly. We were shown to our seats, despite being early. Ordered drinks, which included amongst others a lovely bottle of Chilean red. We ordered starters of, garlic cheese bread, olives, garlic mushrooms and Bruschetta. Everything game piping hot and delicious. Main course which included, meat balls, haddock risotto and a burger, again came within a reasonable amount of time, pipping hot and cooked with flare. Service was, professional, attentive and discreet. There was six of us in total, with drinks, starter, mains and coffees, the bill came to under £150 which I think is such good value for the quality of the ingredients. Highly recommend to anyone!

A restaurant that is a credit to Swansea. The Belle vue Bistro is a fantastic place for a lunch time meal. From the menu we both opted for the burgers which came with proper chips of course and a little side salad (I had the geeking and onion rings too) . But the meal was about the burgers and they were delicious! I had the Belle vue burger and my wife opted for the veggie burger. They were both perfect, tasted great in their brioche buns and thoroughly recommended. Desserts followed and we choose the snickers bread and butter pudding with a scoop of ice cream and a lovely lemon and raspberry tart with cream. Coffee followed and the lunch was a pleasant and relaxed experience before we headed off to the cinema to see Andre Rieu in concert. Service was professional, assured and warm. Food was absolutely first class. This restaurant really is worth your time and custom in my opinion 👍😋

Second visit to the Belle Vue Bistro, although my last visit was a couple of years ago. Nice interior, and pleasant staff. Food was nice enough, I sampled the Cajun Chicken with chips and the chicken was spicy and not dry at all, but was a little too spicy for me. Chips were large and too pale for me. Just my preference to have them cooked a little more. I didn't have dessert but many of the party did and they looked very appetizing.

This place is an absolute gem, the service was superb, price very reasonable but the food tastied absolutely brilliant.

Last min phone call to get a table for 5 as a late Fathers day meal as I was away. The staff were brilliant really accommodating and managed to get us a table. When we attended we had a fab greeting and made to feel really welcome. Food was fantastic and reasonably priced

We walk past this place every weekend and decided to give it a try. Daughters were very happy with their pizza and homemade meatballs. I asked if they did a calzone, which wasn’t on the menu, and the chef rustled one up. I let him decide on the filling. Delicious! Will definitely be visiting again.
