The food was excellent, one of the best carbonara' I've had in a while. Service was poor though, one gentleman was a bit too over eager to take plates, while another lady seemed to forget anything you asked for the second she walked away. Still, worth a visit if you fancy Italian food!

Very nice pizza, if it says "hot" it's hot; no messing around

This was my first visit at Bella Vista. Overall, I have enjoyed my experience, but I can't say I would re-visit. The staff couldn't be more helpful and work hard to deliver amazing service. However, the food quality falls behind. My biggest question mark was that no one has asked if we have allergies. Isn't that a quite important thing to miss? I mean, there are so many people with allergies & intolerances out there. I had prawns to start with, which were nice, but way too much oil on the plate(for my taste, at least). For the main course, I had a 10oz Ribeye steak, which was rather disappointing. Almost half the steak was covered in fat(the kind that you can't eat or chew). Fries were okay, but not fresh. The mushrooms are delicious, and the blue cheese sauce was very good. The tiramisu, however, was one of the best I have tried lately. The atmosphere was superb, though, and once again, the staff was amazing and worked hard, but I don't think I'd go again. Thank you!

We had a truly disappointing experience at this restaurant. The menu clearly stated “2 courses for £35,” but when it came time to pay, they charged £35 per course, which was completely misleading. Aside from the overpriced food, the quality and taste were absolutely terrible, so bad that we couldn’t even eat it. On top of that, we had to wait 45 minutes for our food to arrive, which was unacceptable. We came here for a special night, hoping to create good memories, but I can confidently say this was the worst dining experience we’ve ever had. Overall, the price and quality don’t even come close to matching, and I sincerely hope they improve their standards in the future.

I recently visited Bella Vista with some coworkers, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is perfect—relaxed yet refined—and the service was top-notch. We went on a Wednesday night and were able to walk right in, which was a pleasant surprise. We opted to sit outside in the enclosed heated area, which had a beautiful view of the river. It felt cozy yet spacious, offering the perfect setting for an evening out. The drink selection was fantastic, with a variety of fresh, creative cocktails to choose from. For starters, I had the mussels, which were perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The sauce was rich and well-seasoned, and the crusty bread on the side was ideal for dipping. For the main course, I went with the bolognese. The portion was generous and hearty, with a depth of flavor that was spot on. Every bite was satisfying. All in all, Bella Vista exceeded expectations. Great food, exceptional service, and a welcoming ambiance—definitely a spot I'd return to!

Me encanta este lugar. Comida muy sabrosa, excelentes opciones de menú y personal encantador. Solo he estado para almuerzos de trabajo, pero con la esperanza de volver por la noche para añadir un poco de vino a estos deliciosos platos!

We visited Bella Vista late afternoon today and had such a lovely time. The service was fabulous, our waitress was really helpful with dietary needs and remembered our order without writing it down which was impressive for a group of 8. We all enjoyed our meals and loved the ambiance. We we definitely return and recommend this lovely restaurant.

We visited the restaurant on the weekend for my sisters birthday and it was amazing. The food was so lovely and the service was 10/10. We could not fault anything. The staff were attentive and always there if you needed anything. Also, I had told one of the waitress that it was my sister birthday and she said she would get a birthday candle on the desert cake , I was hoping just a candle on the cake but instead some of the staff came out with the desert cake and sang the birthday song playing an instrument and it just made the day end well !!! I can’t thank them enough for making us feel welcome. And the food is soooo worth it esp the pizza and lasagne I would deffo recommend this restaurant for a special occasion !!!

Asistí a este restaurante para una comida romántica para dos. Era un sábado ajetreado en vísperas de Navidad. El servicio era pobre y algo frío, cada vez que necesitaba servicio miraba a mi alrededor para ver a varios miembros del personal congregados alrededor del bar charlando en lugar de atender a los clientes. La comida estaba “bien”, pero necesitaba condimento. Lamentablemente nada sobresalió, fue tan genial que ni siquiera puedo recordar lo que teníamos sin mirar atrás! El risotto estaba seco y mal cocido. Las albóndigas no eran nada sustancial. En general decepcionante ya que el lugar podría ser excepcional. ¡La mesa no estaba llena, pero fue el personal el que la bajó desde el momento en que cruzamos la puerta! Una “Feliz Navidad” tampoco habría estado mal.

It's a shame that it's not Italian food, only the name is Italian, the carbonara was a cream and ham pasta with parsley, what a disappointment, it's not bad but at least have the courage not to call it carbonara on the menu and remove the word Italy from the sign

Bella Vista is a charming and cozy restaurant with lovely decor that immediately makes you feel at home. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff, who provided excellent service throughout our visit. The dishes we ordered were served promptly, which was a nice surprise. The food was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. My fish, while very tasty, had a bit more oil than I would have preferred, but it was still delightful. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would happily return to Bella Vista for another meal!

La comida y el servicio era excepcional... tenía mejillones para empezar que estaban perfectamente preparados y una trucha entera cocinada en hierbas y tomates envueltos en papel de aluminio que era excelente. Demasiado lleno en esta ocasión para un postre, pero sin duda volverá!

Siendo un poco esnob de la comida italiana, casi nunca como pizza y pasta, ya que a menudo siento que podría haber hecho eso mejor y más barato en casa. No es el caso aquí. El primer día me tomé la pizza vegetariana, que estaba deliciosa. Gran base, bien cocida, y con suficientes pero no demasiados ingredientes. Mi segunda opción de almuerzo fue Spagetti Bolognese (teníamos un pequeño menú para elegir, así que fue 'seguro'). Incluso mi hija habría aprobado y rara vez califica este plato en otro lugar que mi cocina. La salsa era rica y profunda con un sabor auténtico y los spagetti hervían justo al derecho. Tampoco escatimaron en parmesano. Nunca suelo comer mucho en el almuerzo, pero pulido del lote, ya que no podía hacerme parar! Nos trataron para 2 almuerzos aquí como parte de un curso, así que nunca vi el menú completo o los precios, pero después de haber comprobado sin duda volvería a ir. Si viviera más cerca, probablemente me mudaría. El nombre es acertado, tienen la vista al río y la vista en el interior también es hermosa - la decoración de alguna manera logra ser elegante y acogedor al mismo tiempo. Se nota que es una empresa familiar; el servicio es de primera clase y realmente sientes que el personal se preocupa. ¡QUE NO TE PIERDAS!

I've been 2 times, frist time was good but I felt like they're pushing to eat quickly,Second time behaviour of stuff unacceptable, I haven't finish pizza properly yet and already comeing asking for desert, I wanted to chill a little bit after food and I heard menager talking to 1 lady tell him to pay!. When they watching you all the time looks so creepy. Look like they want steal food from you.I felt trapped and uncomfortable.

Booked a large table of 13 for a hen party and the food was excellent. Everyone enjoyed it. The staff were lovely. The service was quick, especially as we had to get to the next venue for a certain time. The decor was really nice and I will definitely be back.

The service and waitresses were excellent, really attentive and friendly. The food unfortunately was nothing special which was a shame considering the beautiful setting. We had aranchini balls which were tasty but the brushetta and olives were a bit lack lustre. The draft beer was flat and the cannoli was slightly orange for some reason. Tasty but heavy. Might try again sometime for lunch so can lookout over the river.

after several past visits myself and my partner visited tonight for her birthday meal. we booked and were greated informally by some guy, who didnt even look like he worked there. shown to our table, we evenetually after a long wait ordered drinks and starters. the king prawns were a shock.... £12 for 2 kings and some small frozen prawns around them, our other starters were good sizes vs price.... the servers did not check back and just asked if we were done and to order mains, the seafood risotto was a disgusting experience for us seafood lovers, clearly rushed and gritty, this was swapped out for the salmon pasta which was a better meal. desserts were offered and they came out wrong as expected... throughout the whole night we werent checked back except after complaining about the mains. we werent offered any drinks and had to ask multiple staff for more suited cutlery and sauces. to then watch as the staff sat around being lazy on phone and staring at us instead of serving the paying customers and their friends in hoodies go behind the bar.... its safe to say we wont return for overpriced small portions and poor service...

Reservamos y fuimos genializados informalmente por algún chico, que ni siquiera parecía que trabajaba allí. mostrado a nuestra mesa, finalmente después de una larga espera pedimos bebidas y entrantes. las gambas reales fueron un shock. . . £ 12 para 2 reyes y algunas pequeñas gambas congeladas a su alrededor, nuestros otros entrantes eran de buenos tamaños vs precio. . . Los servidores no volvieron y solo preguntaron si habíamos terminado y para pedir la red, el risotto de mariscos fue una experiencia desagradable para nosotros los amantes de los mariscos, claramente apresurado y arenoso, esto se cambió por la pasta de salmón que era una mejor comida. postres se ofrecieron y salieron mal como se esperaba. . . A lo largo de toda la noche no fuimos revisados de nuevo, excepto después de quejarse de la red. no nos ofrecieron ninguna bebida y tuvimos que pedir a varios empleados para más cubiertos y salsas adecuadas. para luego ver como el personal se sentaba por ahí siendo perezoso en el teléfono y mirándonos fijamente en lugar de servir a los clientes de pago y sus amigos con sudaderas con capucha van detrás de la barra. . . Es seguro decir que no volveremos por porciones pequeñas sobrepreciosas y mal servicio. . .

Popped in for lunch after my friend's Citizenship Ceremony. The spaghetti carbonara was the best I have ever had, anywhere....was a bit disappointed the mozzarella and tomato starter wasn't beef tomatoes, sliced and mozzarella sliced but it was delicious, still and just used it as a side to the pasta. My friend's goats cheese and onions was amazing....staff were attentive but not invasive and the weather was beautiful...sat in the glass area watching the river and Bristol passing its day...what more could you want?

Habíamos pasado por delante de esto muchas veces y estoy seguro de que en un buen día cálido es un lugar fantástico. Está muy bien decorado y muy cómodo y nos ofrecieron Al fresco, pero como estaba lloviendo nos quedamos dentro. Menú italiano muy extenso y tradicional con especiales añadidos. Tuve la lasaña y mi esposa había asado lubina ambos eran fantásticos. Gran personal hizo que fuera una gran experiencia

Lovely location by the river, with the park across the water. My son and I had a very nice dinner here, celebrating that he is starting his last year at university. The seafood risotto was delicious. The staff were very friendly and discretely attentive.

My partner picked this restaurant for our stay in Bristol. I’d started to follow their Instagram, and had thought about ringing ahead to reserve a seat outside, but thought would be quiet on a Monday! We were very lucky as only one seat left, was lovely to see such an atmosphere on a Monday. We actually could have just stopped at starters as we were full! The arancini balls were delicious. Definitely didn’t need the bread and olives, but were delicious. We were so lucky to have the bonus of a wonderful sunset.

Had the set 3 course lunch . Great value but very disappointed to find hairs (X3) on my salad. Staff handled this very well and the starter was replaced and was delicious. Main courses very good . Dessert of tiramisu not great didn't taste of anything. Icecream £7.95!!!!🤔

Great little place overlooking the river. The food was lovely and a good price. My only complaint was that the Calzoni was too big 😃 and that was the small one!! Friendly waiters left you in peace but were attentive enough.

We had a really lovely family evening here. The food was very good and the staff were friendly and attentive. Loved the view over the river and the fact that the windows open right down to the bottom.

Had an excellent meal here. We were lucky to get a table as the restaurant was packed, but the staff was able to handle the customers with ease, and the food was excellent. Wanted to come back for our final meal in Bristol, but alas it is closed on Sunday evenings.

Was in a group of about 20, the staff worked tirelessly to serve us and keep the beer and wine flowing. Was quiet apart from us, so we made our own atmosphere. Food was okay, tasty but maybe having a single group of 20 resulted in certain elements getting over cooked (lasagne was dry). However, it's at a nice bit and was pleasant enough.

A friend and I had such a lovely evening at Bella Vista last night! We phoned ahead so had priority for a table outside and it was such a beautiful sunny spot right on the water. We shared a number of starters, all delicious and the staff were super smiley and attentive throughout. The interior is also really beautiful, will definitely be returning and recommending to friends!

We absolutely love it here. We had prebooked but could sit outside, which is beautiful and watching the world go by on the river, nearby, was lovely. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The only slight disappointment that the booking asks if it's a special occasion, which it was, but nothing extra was done. I think if even a small effort had been made it would have been exceptional. Still, I highly recommend this lovely place.

We ate here last night, and the lasagne I had was quite simply the best I've had, fantastic great sized portion of house salad and the most delicious garlic bread perfectly soft with just the right amount of crisp, I've eaten here many times and the food is always delicious. Thank you for another great meal. The restaurant was very busy and it looked like only 2 waiting staff were working, so they worked very hard.

Booked a table for a family meal to celebrate a birthday. Seated at the terrace overlooking the river, covered as not flaming June 😂. Interesting menu. We all had pizza which was tasty. Would come back to sample other food on the menu. Attentive and polite staff.

We have always LOVED this restaurant. The food has always been great and the staff fabulous. It has always felt like a home from home. But this time when my family booked a table for a special birthday lunch with my grandchildren, the service was appalling. Not only was the order totally mixed up but this was all blamed on us. We were served a pizza with mushrooms when we had asked for olives instead. We had been told that was fine, and then told it could not be changed. When they brought it back it was clear they had just taken the mushrooms off and put olives on instead rather than making a new pizza. The waitress brought TWO fish starters (instead of one) together with a TIRAMISU! Why would anyone want tiramisu with their fish starter? Not only that but these fish starters arrived 10 minutes later than the first two starters. Then the cabbage on one of the mains was burned, which the waitress refused to admit...even though there was smoke coming out of the kitchen!. When my daughter objected to the waitress's rudeness, the waitress said that she was only being "nice" because the children were there, and said she would get the manager in a way that sounded like a threat!!!. The restaurant seemed to be in complete chaos. This would have been funny if it hadn't spoiled a special day.

Found by accident on our way from the train station on a busy Friday night, despite wearing ugly clothes and carrying too many bags the staff were delighted to seat us outside by the water at our request. The waiting staff were fantastic throughout, charming and friendly too. The food was to die for! I had the prawn, scallop and saffron ravioli and it's possibly the best thing I've ever eaten.

Went here last night for dinner, and the food was ok. The arancini was nice and my pizza was just average. I asked for a small glass of rosé, which the menu said would cost me £4.50 but the bill came and charged me £7.70! I'm not sure if they gave me a different wine to the one I asked for or whether they billed me for a larger size but either way the wine I had was not a large. The other let down (which I see others have put this on their reviews) is that half way through the meal we were asked if we'd like any water for the table. Expecting this to be FREE tap water, we accepted. The waitress bought two jugs of water and added £3.50 for the water to the bill! This was just tap water, nor did it even have ice or lemon yet they wanted money for it! I've had pasta here before and it was nice so I've got a mixed review about this place. The restaurant is a nice enough setting but it's not somewhere I would specifically recommend.

Well, the restaurant does have a nice view when the weather is nice as its name suggests. Jokes aside, the food is great! It's on the more authentic side with respect to other British Italian restaurants, as one might be able to tell from the pizzas. The pastas are really good too e.g. the mushroom tagliatelle, carbonara, and lasagna. The sweets are really great - could never resisted taking one despite having eaten a gigantic meal.

Good food, great ambiance! The food was truly amazing with rich and well-balanced flavours. Outdoor seating beside Avon river, overlooking castle park is worth mentioning. We tried quite a few vegetarian options - focaccia rosmarino, veg ravioli, lasagne, ricotta spin...Each dish seemed to be crafted for a delightful culinary experience.
