We love Bella Napoli and it.never fails to impress. All of the food is amazing and can be catered to most needs (I am vegetarian and had the truffle and pancetta risotto - obviously minus the pancetta and substituted with additional vegetables) it's some where we really should frequent more often

Such nice food, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. We absolutely loved it was perfect for my wife's birthday. Good vegetarian options and because food is cooked to order, you can substitute meat for veges

Although the food was nice you didn’t get much of it for the money. Didn’t find the staff very friendly or welcoming. Don’t bother with a dessert it’s a joke (£7.15 for a couple of mouthfuls, tiramisu sent back inedible). Witnessed waitresses knock some bread off a plate onto the floor then pick it up and put it back on the plate and serve it that is totally unacceptable.

We really enjoyed our meal here. It has great kerb appeal and we were limited for time as we had an important football match to watch. They kindly fitted us in. Food and hospitality great. Calazone, gnocchi and pesto pasta. Sorry but I just don't get the reviews negatively commenting on the food. Portions were generous. We did however find the tiramisu somewhat bland. Would we return - absolutely, but would pass on the deserts. Thanks for a lovely meal

This place is great but not perfect. The starter, meatballs not good. My wife had the tricolore, looked lovely, i wish i had that. The main, chicken, roasties and green beans just totally yummy. We are badly served in abingdon with food, its mostly terrible junk from jars and packets, cooked by 12 years olds. Not here my food was cooked from proper fresh ingrediants. I loved it fresh propely cooked food is awesome. Oh and the service 6 stars, lovely ladies very attentive.

Nice little restaurant, family run, and staff were pleasant and helpful. Found the music a bit loud. The meal was tasty, but not wonderful and portion sizes are not very big. Went without starters so we would have room for dessert, but we could have managed all 3. My pasta dish was a bit short on the meat, but well cooked in a lovely sauce. The duck was beautifully cooked. The profiteroles were lovely, but the cannoli was overly crisp. Prices are reasonable, but would have preferred more on the plate for the price. The wine seemed rather dear - nothing less than £30 a bottle. Not sure I would return when there are other Italian restaurants in the town.

Visted Abingdon for an overnight stay to see friends, so me and my partner decided based on the great reviews to try this restaurant. The place itself is really quaint and traditional with brilliantly attentive staff. Sadly, the food just does not match up. I’ve eaten a in a lot of Italians over the years, some good, some not so good - but the food here is just plain tasteless. Not bad per se, but bland and lacking in effort. The worst offender by far is the lasagne. In an Italian such as this, lasagne should be a reliably good staple regardless of who’s in the kitchen - but this really was about the quality I’d expect from a microwave meal. Very little meat in a tasteless sauce, all soaked in greasy but tasteless cheese. Very disappointing - would sooner have eaten the Wetherspoons alternative and at £15 a plate, there’s really no excuse. Lovely people, lovely service, but shamefully bad food.

Delicious home cooked food. Couldn’t fault it. A good selection on the menu. Lovely friendly staff. We both had pasta but pizzas looked good as well

Better to stay at home , not worth the money at all I had a scallops starter that had 2 scallops on and 4 prawns !! Then I had the salmon main and agian really small portion Me and my wife had a bottle of wine and they put it in a wine cooler that was warm , I asked them why and they said they never put their wine coolers in the fridge ?? The toilets are really dirty also Will not be returning here

Lovely food in a pleasant and friendly traditional Italian restaurant. The menu is just right with all the things you’d expect- freshly prepared so if you’ve allergies or want something altering they will make it for you, including Vegan variations. The tiramisu is light and delicate - the way you’d want it to be. Will be returning soon- thank you!

I have never been to this restaurant before but as it had been in Abingdon for many years and was family owned decided to invite our friends to dine there with us as they also love Italian food. The inside of the restaurant is lovely with lots of seating in 2 different rooms. The staff were friendly The menu was lacking in choice and the basics you would expect on an Italian menu was just not available. Capresse to name but one. The starters came out and my husband had the antipasto meat selection that was just enough to feed a small child. The brushetta I had was nice The main meals came out. I had chicken & mushroom risotto which was utterly tasteless, had 4 small slithers of chicken in it that I had to rummage around to find. It was very runny with a bland sauce. My husband had chicken milanese which again was a small childs portion on a thin long plate you would serve bread on. My friend had salmon. There was 1 veg, green beans with no other selection of veg being offered. Pretty poor really when you get offered a really good selection that comes out separately from another local Italian just around the corner. The meatball dish was again small & came out in what i would describe as a cereal bowl. Desserts arrived & although the brownie looked nice & moist the tiramisu was tiny and was a small square of tiramisu on a small plate. We have eaten in some lovely Italian restaurants but will most definitely not be returning there. Overall a very disappointing experience. The restaurant should increase their portion sizes to ensure customers get value for money, offer more veg selection and improve on menu choice that includes the staples you would expect to find on an Italian menu. We left still feeling hungry which we do not often have to say when eating out. Terrible quality & an embarrassing night out with friends that we had invited along to eat there.

This was a lovely little restaurant we visited on our last night in Abingdon. It’s fairly small but fortunately they were able to accommodate us. We had a penne pasta and ravioli both were very nice and as we couldn’t decide which dessert to choose we decided on the dessert sharing platter it was yummy. Staff were friendly and service was quick, would recommend if looking for freshly made Italian meal in Abingdon.

As a rule I am not a fan of Italian cuisine, mainly because being dairy allergic there is very little on the menu I can eat. Italian cooking usually involves lots of creamy sauces and dishes made with cheese. The family, however, adore Italian food and arranged a birthday meal for my husband at Bella Napoli (their local favourite) last evening. Usually I sit these things out but after contacting the restaurant to see if they could accommodate me, decided to give it a go. I am so pleased I did!. Everything was cooked fresh to order and hence I could order straight off the normal menu (I had salmon and green beans). All well prepared but without any creamy, cheesy sauce enabling me to enjoy this family occasion. Their homemade bread is just superb! Fabulous service and good wine list.

The atmosphere was romantic and nice whilst the food was also great. THe location is also very convenient if you're exploring Abingdon on foot. Would recommend!

Wow at last good homemade food in Abingdon. Our town is full of terrible eateries, we deserve better. I have been to this place a few years ago but have not been since until today, how i have missed out. My starters was meatballs, lovely homemade meatballs in a tomato sauce with cheese mmmmm. My main was a chicken kebab with salad and chips mmmm no stupid french fries, proper lovely chips yummy. I never order a pudding, i dont have a sweet tooth but i was so inpressed i had the canoli very nice. Then the best thing the Staff very warm and friendly. Seriously never ever enter a chain italian restuarant the food will be dreadfull. Always search out a family owned and run restuarant you will have lovely food in a lovely atmosphere. Top marks for the food and staff.

I stayed in Abingdon whilst walking the Thames Path, and the good reviews took me to this restaurant for dinner. I only had a glass of wine and the Pollo Milanese, which was very poor. Bland side salad, overcooked and slightly burnt chicken, disappointing chips, all finished off with a watery ‘creamy’ mushroom sauce. I ate most of it as I was very hungry, and it was edible, just nowhere near as good as I expected. No one asked me how to meal was, so I skipped desert and got out! Nice place though.

Food arrived about 5 minutes before delivery time and it was pipping hot.Really tasty food (2 X pollo i Parma, I duck breast and one spaghetti al mera). Easy to order and very nice chap who took the order. It turned out that we were over charged by about £13 and they phoned me back to refund the money,Very honest of them and a great credit to the restaurant because I had no idea about the overcharge.Portions of a very good size. Will certainly be having another takeaway from them during the shutdown and will probably going there for a meal when it is over.

I have left a review before regarding this fabulous restaurant but felt, after the fillet steak I had this weekend, I had to write another. It was on the specials board served with a red wine sauce and a mashed potato side. I nearly elected to swap out for home cooked chips but was so glad I trusted Bes, the chef, to have what he served with this meal. Can not recommend this place enough.

I haven't been to this restaurant for YEARS as I dont live close by. It was recommended to me by a friend and I'm so pleased he did.We booked and when we arrived were shown to a lovely, shielded table. The service was prompt and very friendly. Choices of food was good and we were spoiled for choice. Presentation was good and the taste very yummy. It was my daughters birthday which I mentioned when I booked and when her dessert came out they had put a candle on and started singing , thay special touch made my now 26 years olds day. This has been our 3rd visit in the last month and have found the food and service to be excellent at all times. Covid procedures are followed and the tables are spaced accordingly. Has become our favourite place to eat in Abingdon. Will try to support our local premises.

We booked a table for last Friday evening and what a lovely choice it was. Everything about this restaurant was perfect. It was cosy and welcoming and the staff were friendly and professional without exception. All COVID related safety requirements were in place but this didn’t stop us feeling relaxed and able to enjoy ourselves. We had a nice bottle of red wine, the garlic bread (which is to die for!) and olives to start. The menu states that it’s ok to request something which isn’t on the menu so I asked for gnocchi with polpette and it was absolutely delicious. My husband’s calzone was the best he’s had and we SO enjoyed the meal. We can’t wait to visit Abingdon again and we will definitely be eating at Bella Napoli. Thank you everyone.

Went on a Saturday evening for dinner. Pleased that we had booked as the restaurant was busy. Starters, mains and desserts were all delicious and sensibly priced. The service was a little slow but we were happy to enjoy a relaxed evening. All staff wearing masks.

Picked this restaurant after seeing some of the reviews on Tripadvisor, a really good choice. Lovely, freshly cooked Italian food and excellent friendly attentive service.

Just left this restaurant Bella Napoli in Abingdon The booking for 11 August 7 pm for 4 people . This was the worst experience. There were 4 of us plus a baby . My husband was there with my older son lots of times and they were happy with the service and food . So we came And There were only 4 tables occupied. We were the 5th . 45 minutes passed and we got only garlic bread on our table . I started to ask and complain as our baby was constantly crying asking for his pizza. They said 15 min more to do the mains. I understood they just started to do it . When I started to complain Again saying it is not a good service , kids are hungry and upset , they said they are busy (!!!) , but as I said only 4 tables . I asked what they do when they are fully booked - he said they take more staff and suddenly said we just dropped in and they do not plan us ) .We booked the table and have the reservation But he said nothing on it . He did not know what to say more and added that you asked Food all together but not when ready . We were never asked ! Besides I am a mother of a baby and it is extremely important for me to be quickly served , so I always ask to prepare food for the baby first .The saddest thing is that we were talking with the staff several times - but I did not get a word “sorry“ ! Only when my husband was paying the bill the waitress said - sorry . The man who seemed to be manager was always arguing , no sorry or regrets . We were in shock . It is not a behaviour of the manager . My husband said most of the times before he used to be served by him and he was always active and friendly . Today - not at all . The evening was spoilt . I did not touch my plate . The baby refused to it his pizza as was very tired . Awful awful experience ! During the last week we usually eat out as too hot at home - this was the worst experience ever .

We had been to Bella Napoli for the first time just before lockdown in March and loved it.During lockdown we had a takeaway and the food was fantastic. Great ordering and pick up system, service brilliant.Last week when restaurants were reopened we visited to dine in. Set up perfectly to observe distancing without ruining the lovely atmosphere. Food was exceptional as always and we shared a lovely bottle of wine. The prices are very reasonable for the quality.We've recommended to loads of friends and they've all really enjoyed it- both dine in and takeaway.

Not so good. Went years ago and loved the food but service was awful so stopped going. Finding they’d changed hands we’d been meaning to try it. Went last Saturday and got a taxi there. We had a garlic bread for starter to share and I had lamb rump with mash and red wine sauce I believe. My husband had the same but duck breast. The service and staff were good but the food not. Below average and won’t go back. There was no sauce and my lamb was quite fatty. We had 2 large house reds each which were pretty good but all same to £70 which we thought steep seeing as the food was below par. We ordered fried zucchini and it was chunks of it so not what we were expecting! Support your local non franchised businesses though. I feel bad saying this but also a bit swizzed too. Hope they sort it out

I chose this restaurant based on the reads. Me and my 10 year old met my friend with her child. We had pasta, carbanara and risotto all of which was delicious . only 1 member of staff and she manages perfectly in this small family feel restaurant

We’ve just enjoyed a lovely lunch here today celebrating my Mum’s birthday. Special of duck leg delicious and pleasant and efficient service. We will be back!

This restaurant is currently ranked No 3 in the area. We have been twice and the service yesterday evening was a lot better then our previous visit last year. Food is average but have to say, having lived in Italy for two years, I have no idea where they source their ice cream from but it tastes nothing like Italian ice cream. I’d go so far as to say it probably was the worst ice cream I’ve ever tasted and although we had three flavours I can only assume it was bought at minimum cost from a supermarket as the strawberry, vanilla and stracciatella had no flavour whatsoever. Think we’ll try a different restaurant when we’re here again.

Went for my 33rd birthday with my fiancée. The ambiance in the restaurant was lovely and it made the meal feel really special. The food was proper tasty. Highly recommend the King Prawns to start! Would definitely come back again, the menu is really diverse and interesting meals. Felt like I was on holiday. Loved it ☺️

Lovely Italian food cooked from scratch. Friendly and very welcoming. Will definitely be returning. Lots of choice on the menu and everything we ordered was delicious, from the bread and olives at the start to the pudding and coffee at the end. The kids menu is also very good value. Only neutral thing to note is that service isn’t particularly fast so let them know if you only have an hour so you don’t accidentally order a risotto that will be delicious but also cooked from scratch!

My family and I recently had a 60th birthday dinner for 10 people and the food, service and hospitality were fantastic. They were so accommodating when I brought my own cake, hiding it, serving it with no bother, even if it did mean we may not have dessert. However the menu was so tempting that a few of us did and it was as high quality as the other courses.

Table of 4 adults on a Friday night. Food was OK, not amazing. Service was OK also, not amazing. Final bill for 4 meals plus a bottle of wine was reasonably high.

This restaurant never fails..the food is i so good and very tasty. The Staff are so welcoming and it is like home..from home .as we are regular customers we have just about covered all the menu..anyone who has not tried this restaurant are certainly missing out.

This authentic Italian restaurant is obviously very popular. Four of us, booked and visited on a Saturday evening and it was full even at 7pm.
