Food was lovely, staff even lovelier.

1st time visit, with a work colleague, didn’t want to eat at hotel, so gave this a try. Met the owner Salvatore, who showed us to our table, made us feel very welcome. Had a prawn salad for starter, and a lasagne for mains, didn’t need a pudding! Food was absolutely gorgeous, would go back.

A lively traditional Italian with great service. Freshest pasta presumably made on site and amazing lasagne. Everyone was impressed by good portion sizes too, a very welcome change from the usual chain restaurants

Both the food and service were excellent and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. I also thought it was very reasonably priced for such high quality food and generous portions.

Booked Saturday lunch for 4. Food was very well cooked and presented. It was a treat to have beautiful cloths and napkins on the table. Restaurant was very clean and reminded me of quaint Italian restaurants on the Amalfi Coast.

Complimentary bread and olives on arrival. Beautifully cooked home-made pasta. Super lunch.

This is the best Italian food i have had outside Italy. In fact, it’s on par with the best of the best. And why wouldn’t it be? It’s owned and run by an Italian family. The seafood linguine was beyond fantastic. My son said his pizza was the best ever and he lives on them. Makes chains like Bella pasta and Carluccios look very poor indeed. We were visiting Abingdon but will make sure we go back. This place is worth seeking out. Trust me.

Lovely little restaurant would love if they seated people further apart though when the group is big. Otherwise nice pasta. Didn’t like the sliced veal as much but otherwise very homey dinner.

Can't go wrong here. However, beware you won't get pizza here. Which definitely isn't a bad thing. Italian cuisine shouldn't be defined by one food item and there is plenty of other delicious choices on offer. I came here with work as part of a large group. I didn't get to see the bill because someone else paid but the olives and bread provided upon arrival presumably were complimentary but I can't confirm that for certain. Please check other reviews! The bread and olives were delicious, the bread was slightly warm and fluffy and paired perfectly with the olives. Once we were all sat down and comfortable the waiter came and took our drinks order which was a mixture of softies, Peroni and two bottles of house wine. I had the wine which was more than drinkable. When the waiter came to take our food order, for starters I ordered the Grilled Sardines and for mains I ordered the Cannelloni Limoncello (veal filled pasta tubes). Both these dishes were delightful and I personally preferred the sardines as they were seasoned and cooked to perfection. The cannelloni was enjoyable but I wouldn't shout over the rooftops about it. From the rest of our group it seems like all the other dishes were enjoyed but again nobody was raving about it. The service was good and the waiter was good enough to mostly remember what we ordered to give our food without asking which is an often overlooked waiting skill. The interior decor was wonderful as it transported you to a small Bijou in Italy. However the main reason this gets a 4 from me is because of the food, with Italian restaurants being on every street corner these days the bar is pretty high and in my opinion Limoncello doesn't quite get there. I wouldn't write this place off though. Please do come here ad have your own opinion as the food is good and the prices from what I saw were very reasonable. I will be coming here again as there was so much more to try, for example the steak selection!

Their food, environment and music just make you feel dinning in Italy. Everything is so good.

Ate here for the first time today spurred on by the many wonderful reviews. We were not very impressed at all. I had lasagne with salad and garlic bread and my husband had scampi. We went in very hungry and left hungry as the food was mediocre at best. My husband's scampi reminded him of the Popplers from Futurama and he said they were soggy. I had lasagne and it was bland. No dressing for the salads either. We won't be returning based on our experience today. The staff all seemed pretty miserable too. All in all a not very nice experience at all. Such a shame.

Just finished work. Went in with informal clothes. But owner was welcoming and sat me down. Interior is classic and clean. We ordered a seafood dish, along with pizza and a pasta based main course. Everything was good, experience was good

Limoncello is simply outstanding. It's our go-to restaurant for special occcasions, and is always fantastic. Great food (quality & quantity), great service, nice background music (Italian, not too loud), friendly staff, nice layout and tables. Best Italian restaurant we have experienced out of a hundred or so in 50+ different countries (including Italy!)

Great experience! The place was fully booked, pleased that we made a reservation. They offer complimentary bread and olives for every table, their starters are great, specially the calamari. As main, I was very happy with fillet mignon with wine and mushroom sauce. The crispy courgettes on the side with the main dish were delicious. Nice double espresso after the meal. And, of course, they offered limoncello shots after the bill. The service was excellent, they did not rush to make us leave quick, even the restaurant was busy, served well and food preparation was rapid enough. The only downside to the restaurant is the location due to the parking limitation and the closest car park is very busy, difficult to find a spot.

Leaving review on behalf of my parents who came for a meal this week. Great meal and service. They were also impressed with how staff dealt with a lady having a medical emergency. kind, lovely and helpful. They recommend limoncellos and I sure will be paying a visit soon :)

Cozy atmosphere, super affordable good food, and absolutely lovely staff!

I am baffled by the amount of five star reviews. Our food was truly dreadful. My prawn cocktail consisted of tiny tasteless frozen prawns, which had obviously been left to defrost on top of the iceberg lettuce, and consequently were swimming in a pool of water. The brown bread served with them was pre-sliced supermarket variety and was wet from the water. . My main course of Veal Milanese was grey and leathery. I’m pretty sure this was bought in and not made in the kitchen. The red wine was like vinegar, the balsamic dressing was thin and cheap. The Lasagna was very good, but sad for the salad of iceberg lettuce and a couple of pieces of cucumber and tomato. Other dishes and pasta were very unpleasant. The tiramisu was covered in sherrysoaked sponge fingers and The crème brûlée was really thick and stiff. The restaurant was full of people, mainly over the age of 70, and has clearly not changed since the 70s. This would be fine if the food was good quality but it was actually very poor. If you appreciate well cooked home-made food, then this is not the place for you.

Was disappointed with the quality of the food, garlic bread was rock hard, prawns had a funny texture and the mushrooms were not as expected as per the description, normally I would rate this restaurant but feel let down today

My starter (prawn Cocktail) was missing so was advised by the restaurant to contact Just Eat for a refund which I have done.

Always doing cash only. Have to leave due to credit card machine not working on each of the 3 occasions visited in a row!!!

Nice food ,good value for money,pasta was al dente and tasty vegetables selection specially fried zucchini are just soo good, bread and butter and olives on the table was a nice touch, customer service was fine maybe could be more interaction with customers,but will be back

I wanted fresh, healthy food but needed it to be delivered, and that’s exactly what I got. Good range of inventive vegetarian options compared to other Italian restaurants in the area. Portion sizes of pizza and sides very generous especially for the reasonable price, delivery time was great, driver had no problem meeting me in a premier inn car park!! I’ve had a takeaway, but don’t feel gross and full of grease - instead just like someone has made me delicious fresh home cooked food. The dream. Will absolutely order again.

A real Italian restaurant here in UK.

Had a lovely meal again as i have been here a few times now, but on the last visit' we were placed on a table at the front of the restaurant which was fine, but i did not appreciate having just eat delivery riders standing next to me waiting for online orders & with their arse in my face while i'm sat down eating. I love this restaurant but i'm not prepared to put up with that. Make them wait outside as your diners should get priority & not made to feel uncomfortable.

I know so many people who rate this place, but in my limited experience (only two visits) I have been very disappointed with the food. To me it just hasn't got much/any flavour. As I say I think I'm the only person (apart from my husband) who feels this way, so maybe we expect more!

Had the bruschetta for starters, it was on a bake-at-home type roll, not very appealing. Cannelloni was nice but chicken dish was neither visually appealing nor tasty. Won't be returning, surprising for what seems an Italian family restaurant.

In summary the one star rating reflects poor unattentive service coupled with dated, bland food which in my view is vastly overpriced! I was hoping for find a good quality Italian, and would be prepared to pay for this but unfortunately the food was shockingly terrible; even I could make a better lasagne at home. I think the prices charged are criminal and would never return or recommend it to friends or peers - a reality check is required. I suspect this restaurant shall continue to do well with the loyal older demographic however.

Fresh, good quality ingredients cooked properly and without fuss - the best way. Go at lunchtime if you want their delicious pizzas. Prices are very reasonable. My aunt is in her nineties and very frail, and she is always well looked after. Relaxed atmosphere, so a great venue for large groups such as birthday parties.

We drove from Newbury especially to have dinner here. We were not disappointed with the food, itwas delicious! However, the atmosphere with the staff was very poor. The waiter and waitresses level of etiquette was very poor. Not a single smile. My husband ordered 3 courses and I ordered 2. We observed that nwarly everyone who left before us was offered a glass of limoncello, but not us! Such a shame about the poor atmosphere, very off putting. Woll not recommended and will not be back!

Visiting our daughter,recently moved to Abingdon.Booked for dinner,never been here before turned out a very pleasant experience,although busy the staff were pleasant and helpful and the food was way above par for "Italian" restaurants in the UK.Between us we had a pasta dish,two veal dishes and a grilled trout all were well prepared and tasty and washed down with an acceptable Pinot Grigio.Highly recommended.

After reading reviews I must say I found this restaurant disappointing. First impression decor needs a good refresh and bread rolls were already on every table uncovered before customers arrive. I had the lasagna as a main meal it was not a great portion size and did not taste great other members had pizza that had great lumps of garlic on them. In all honesty not great homemade Italian food I can’t see how they have good reviews. Also the feeling must have been mutual as others have mentioned the complimentary limoncello which did not materialise either..

Had a great time at Limincello. Next time I go I need to remember to have profiteroles because they looked amazing. The only thing I found odd was the amount of veal on the menu. It might be a cultural thing, but I found myself avoiding items because of the choice of meat.

A lovely authentic Italian restaurant with friendly staff, a reasonably priced menu and delicious food. There was a welcoming atmosphere and we will visit again.

Went for lunch with granddaughter as they only do pizzas for lunch, rather than in the evening. The pizzas were delicious, freshly cooked to order (adaptations can be made) and huge - she was beaten (but offered for it to be boxed to take home). Very good value. Service was friendly and welcoming, with water, olives and (very fresh) bread rolls brought on arrival. Lovely setting, with Italian frescoes and (quiet) music.

In Abingdon on business, and googled local restaurants to find somewhere nice to eat. What a find! Limoncello was perfect. The waiter was lovely and very friendly. The ambience was relaxed, with lovely background music. The wine was delicious. And the food. The food! Absolutely gorgeous parmigiana melanzane and sautéed garlic prawns to start. Main course we had a seafood linguine and a penne Arrabiata with fried courgette and a mixed salad. Everything was superb. The chianti washed everything down perfectly, and then our lovely waiter brought us limoncello to finish. What a lovely night and a lovely dinner

Amazing food, and the pizza comes with a free vegetable side dish. One of our favourite restaurants here. Only minor complaint was that the pizza had been transported sideways, and the toppings and cheese had moved into one corner and stuck to the lid.

5 stars all the way. Arriving in Abingdon I was looking for some tasty food as its my day off. I literally stumbled on This place. I could have walked by as the front is almost 70s cafe look. I was welcomed and offered a choice of seating. I noticed as I looked around the restaurant went back a way. Many seats. Water and olives with breads on the table immediately. The menu arrived quickly too. As I'm hiking back to oxford a healthy energy lunch was called for. Enough of the story. My food arrived. Wow! Placed down politely. It looked delicious. It was delicious. Cooked perfectly. Herbs, cream, veil. Veg. Potatoes in small cubes. Many different subtle tastes and textures. In my ear operatic style music. Decor perfect. Sun shining in. Perfect. The wine perfect. I imagine my walk back along the Thames to have some down points only because after such a positive happy lunch alone in such a wonderful restaurant the up can't continue. Lol. Fantastic host. Chilled and relaxing vibe. Excellent service. Food that if gods existed would definitely feast upon.

The sardine was extremely good. The Cannelloni was excellent and the seafood pasta was very well done. Nothing fanciful, but good cooking at a reasonable price.

If you want a good pizza and Italian food in general this is the place. It really is a very tasty.

Very lovely food! The pizza actually came with a choice of a vegetable side dish (I had green beans). The panne cotta was beautiful. Very quick delivery too. Cheaper and higher quality than the usual pizza chains, even including the delivery fee.

Excellent restaurant, had dinner whilst staying in Abingdon. Sardines for starters were great as was the canilloni house dish for main. Very friendly staff and excellent food and menu selection. Recommended

We came here again to celebrate my fathers birthday and they did not disappoint. The staff are very welcoming and the food is absolutely delicious and they cooked our steaks exactly the way we asked. We were too full for dessert as we had ordered delicious starters and then had our steaks. I recommend you book up asap and you will not be disappointed.

my sister and I stopped when we saw this restaurant as we had walked out of 2 harvesters ( still dont know why we even bothered going to them in the first pace but we had driven down from manchester and were on the way to bournemouth) that evening. this was a wonderful surprise. the service was proper italian and we were welcomed in without a reservation on a Friday evening ..it's a step back in time to traditional restaurants with table cloths etc and a shame that so many are disappearing now . the food was lovely and we would definitely come back if ever in the area again . the food was delicious and not rushed and well priced ...

This place is amazing we always come here after work. It has a real retro feeling and genuine great Italian food. I have to say best Italian restaurant I have tried and also good vegetarian options. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Don't know the name of the guy who usually waits on us but he is lovely. 5 stars *****
