ASK Italian - Abingdon in Vale of White Horse

Excellent food served efficiently. The atmosphere was lovely and busy but not overcrowded so we were served quickly and given the little glasses of still house lemonade that is so very tangy and delicious. We enjoyed the meal which was served piping hot and nicely presented. We complimented the chef as well as tipping the waitress who gave us attentive service.

Great place that does not disappoint. Another excellent lunch experience with our 2.5-year-old daughter. Food was excellent, as usual (we've been here a few times already), atmosphere is great for families with children. Great sense of timing too, with children's food arriving before ours, as it should always be. Great staff and cooks.

I received a two for one offer by email. It was a misleading offer, it looks like only some mains were part of the deal. Either that or our waitress only applied one instead of two. Either way it was embarrassing. We won’t go to Ask again.

The atmosphere was amazing and the service was brilliant apart from the missed asking people for drinks and took a while to be served our food. Also took ages to take our order too. Things were missing and things turned up that wasn’t ordered. The food was bland. Nothing exciting. I had calamari that was soggy and tasted like nothing. A had a pasta dish that was boiling hot that tasted like nothing either. It was nice wouldn’t go out my way to visit again. The food took ages to come out!! Over a hour.

The food was absolutely lovely however we did suffer a long wait in ordering the food and a small wait for the the starters and a slightly longer wait for the mains. Also the Atmosphere in the restaurant was Perfect and the staff worked hard considering was busy to suit our needs.

Good food in generous portions served by a friendly and helpful team. The passion fruit and raspberry cheesecake is highly recommended.

Staff were very helpful but very busy. They needed more staff which brought down the level of service. Due to how busy it was a long wait for drinks and food. (Please note the staff were rushing around trying to be as quick as possible)

The food is very much standard for ASK (i.e., absolutely fine for a casual Italian meal). We particularly like the arancini. Location is lovely, and we always appreciate how friendly and efficient the staff are.

We decided to enjoy a meal out as the weather was glorious. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by Alexandra who allowed us to choose a table outside. Alexandra was the perfect waitress for our small family of 4. She was extremely attentive and ensured that we were well supplied at all times. The food was delicious and well cooked. We will definitely be back and will gladly recommend to others.

The pasta that I wanted had run out and I was offered an alternative. This is a fast paced restaurant where the aim seems to be to get through as many diners as possible.

Have been here for several times and not disappointed. Ordered Lasagne and King prawn pasta, pizza as well as kids menu. Lovely food, fantastic service. ASK Abingdon is my favourite Italian resturant so far.

Probably the best place to eat in Abingdon.

Cannot fault the food. The staff were very friendly without being fake. I only marked the atmosphere down, as there weren't many customers, so it didn't feel as vibrant as it could.

I don't know where to begin. We booked a table for my husband's birthday, with his mum and daughter. The service we received was way above anything I expected, the staff were so helpful and accommodating with a big shout out to Emily who clearly enjoys her job. We all had a wonderful lunch, food was excellent, however it was the special touches from Emily that truly made our visit exceptional! A huge thank you for being so kind and I know we will remember this as a special lunch for some time!

I dined as part of a party of 5 on a very busy Friday evening. Service was very good, efficient and friendly. Replacement was offered to someone where they ran out of an ingredient. All of us were satisfied with dishes, great taste, and good portions, too.

Arrived but booking lost. Immediately found us a table. The usual quality food experience that we have become accustomed to. Never been disappointed.

Lovely building, disappointing food. Schnitzel undercooked, Caesar Salad not drained properly so wet and limp. Kids pizzas ok but all pretty tasteless. Service lacklustre, slow and miserable. Shame because it should be lovely!

We had lunch at this restaurant. I had linguine fruit di mare. It was tasteless. This is my favourite dish. I was really looking forward to it. There was hardly any prawns. The tomato had an odd taste. I had to add salt and pepper to gi e it favourite. It was also very expensive. 2 start and 3 main £90.

I like a pizza with chilli heat, so two of us opted for a "Salami Misti" with chillies as an extra topping, as from the menu description, the Nduja spicy sausage 'Calabria' option seemed sparse on toppings generally. Our pizzas were disappointing. The pizzas came with a small amount of very fine chilli slithers, and literally added no discernable chilli heat. To my mind chillies as a topping option should give a decent spicy kick. Someone else in the group has a standard salami misti, but unfortunately the staff initially mixed them up at the table, understandable I guess given it was difficult to actually see the chilli topping. The meat on the pizza, unlike the menu image, was somewhat piled in the middle of the pizza.

Had a fantastic meal here on a Saturday night. The food was great & service was perfect, couldn't fault it. Thanks so much to our very friendly, attentive server. We had a small issue on the starter which arrived cold, but the manager rectified immediately and as we were near the kitchen the chefs were apologetic & it seemed they genuinely cared to improve our experience. The two pasta mains we had were delicious - Pollo Dela Casa & Manzo Piccante, & we loved the Pistachio & Raspberry tart! Looking forward to another visit soon.

A little noisy on a Saturday night. But very enjoyable. Only a couple of minor niggles. The Aperol Spritz tasted a little watery to start with. I suspect due to a lot of ice with room-temperature ingredients. My Chicken Vedura Bowl was very good. Some of the broccoli stems were tough but that's not uncommon with broccoli stems. Zucchini (courgette) Frittas (fritters) were great but there were quite a few small pieces.

We dropped in for a quick bite at lunchtime and we hadn’t booked a table. We were seated quickly and we were able to order quite quickly too. We’re both plant based and we found quite a few plant based items on the menu…… We shared the THIS isn’t chicken dippers and the vegan Nd’juda pizza. Both were spot on!

Food not as good as it used to be. We have visited this restaurant many times over the years and been happy. Sadly not now. The lasagna recipe must have changed, please change it back, the Carbonara was dry, the Calzone was far too spicy. The service was awful. We have met the manager and the waitress from Rome before and they were and remain amazing. Another waitress who served us was rude, surly and impolite. I didn’t eat my salad (all items past sell by date) and she said ‘you didn’t like the salad’ I said ‘no’ she tutted and walked away. A family meal costing almost £80, not a problem if everything is as it should be. Disappointing
