A friend and I dined in here last night. From the moment we walked in the staff were amazing. A lovely warm welcome and shown to our choice of seat. Asked if any allergies and an allergy alert flag placed on our table. The waitress showed me how to scan for the app and or use the symbols on the menu. I am Coeliac and dairy free but the whole experience was seamless. The food was fabulous, I had Pizza and shared a cookie dough. The 2 waitress we had were just so lovely and we had great chat. They both deserve 10 stars and the kitchen team too, well done ,.if you chose here, you will not be disappointed, Real service done well x

Overpriced and basic, should of bought from a packet.... would of been better quality with more flavour

Bland, bland, bland. 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼 First off, way over priced for 2 people. Bill came to £65 for 2 pastas, 2 sides and 2 drinks!! Fortunately we had a Blue Light Card discount but still not worth the money for that AND the “optional” service charge for was not optional…. Pasta’s were sooo bland, no flavour. Added enough salt to have a heart attack for it to be enjoyable. Avoid Bella Italia, probably not just in Edinburgh but all chains and go somewhere authentic and local. Poor date choice for a year anniversary dinner, big L from me but even bigger one from Bella Italia. Cheers, nights ruined x

The food was great. I don't really like pizza but thoroughly enjoyed half a pizza with a delicious side salad. It was extremely busy when we were there but I was impressed to see that all the staff were totally on top of things. Everyone was seated and orders taken with minimum waiting. Staff were friendly and helpful. Ten out of ten from me.

Simple but good location, very good service from Andrea. Friendliness and great work, good recommendations for the dishes. Great job keep it up. We'll be back

Came to this place without much notice, we were seated by Vaceria, very friendly lady polite and well mannered. Food arrived fast it was delicious, Would recommend.

Popped in out of the rain on a very wet Friday evening, didn't have a plan, however asked for a table, service was excellent, food amazing and there was such a lovely ambience

came here from a long flight from new zealand, was very tired and hungry did have a couple of wines wasn’t drunk just tired, i went in was told i couldn’t be sold alcohol as the waiter said i was drunk, which i wasn’t i immediately left, came back the next day, was told i wasn’t allowed in as i was vaping, very rude would not recommend this place at all avoid at all costs

Great time with family, busy Christmas market but walked into Bella Edinburgh and were greeted with a smile and treated very well, food superb great end to the day

Awful and rude service tables too small to add dips and drinks. I had to put them on the floor - I asked for a larger table but was told we’ll be too busy later on - it was only 30% full at this time. Then 3 couples came in later and were shown onto larger tables. I asked again but just got shrugged shoulders.

Very inviting. Staff were very accommodating. Set up another table for us on a busy Friday night no problem to then at all. Went out of their way to serve. There was nothing they wouldn't do for you. Very happy with our experience. Thank you x

Quality of food was poor and item missing. Better off going with anyone else.

A very enjoyable restaurant with great tasting food and service.

All of takeaway was cold even after we were notified that the courier had just left the restaurant and it was delivered within 10 minutes, the food was freezing.

Went during the christmas market, place was full not a table spare. Despite this we were seated quickly as we had reserved, service was lovely and food was amazing.

Quite average I would say. Service wasn’t amazing. We weren’t asked if we wanted drinks and the waitress hardly spoke until she saw me filling in their feedback and then she was suddenly very friendly! Food was speedy and good but I feel there is better Italian food for cheaper. Nice atmosphere.

Marcin is a very competent waiter and I’ve noticed how he always asks if the clients would like any additional chicken or cheese. Also he always asks if we have any allergies. Food is not bad 🙂

We were here previously. Staff were friendly throughout our time, Carbonara and spaghetti bolognaise are the two dishes we’d recommend from here.

just poor and very mediocre food ,service poor they had QR adverts on the tables but waiter said they don't work?? so why have them on the tables then?? service was slow , meatballs tasted like from ikea ,pasta carbonara bland no seasoning and not much in the way of sauce ,pizza bland ,dessert tasted shop bought ,definitely not made on site ( come on anyone can make a tiramisu) really poor all round ,and to top it off £70 bill and service charge to add insult to injury. shall never return to any bella italia again

He sido chef por más de 12 años en establecimientos locales y no (cadena de restaurantes italianos) Definitivamente evitaré este tipo de restaurantes de cadena en el futuro Yo no era barato tampoco £ 70 y cargo por servicio solo para nosotros 2 cocinar en casa chicos es mucho mejor que esto

Unwelcoming Italians. Would never have believed it. Man who greeted us as we entered showed us to our table, mumbled 2 things. - 3 of you, any allergies. Waitress came over and asked which drinks we would like. 2 wines for my Wife and I and water for the table and our daughter. We got a 1 pint glass of water. Taking our food order, the waitress was midway through talking, and she stopped, spoke to someone else, and walked away saying 'back in a moment'. If this is warm Italian service, then I'll skip this place. I had the Cannelloni, my Wife had Pollo Cacciatore, and my daughter had the kids spaghetti bolognaise. All very nice. Thank you, chef, for giving us something.

Great service and good food. We've ordered doughballs, ham, chicken and mushroom pizza and spinach and ricotta cannelloni. The food arrived promptly and it was very tasty. The waiter Marcin was very helpful and attentive during the whole dinner. Definately recommended!

I would say that he is an Italian without many pretensions. The pizza and spaghetti we had were pretty average and for the price we paid, we thought it was expensive.

Went with a friend over for dinner and couple of drinks. We been denied drinks without ordering food that we were looking into. Been asked for IDs (we are 35) because we were wearing casual clothes Been asked from the Manager to leave in a very rude way, we were just looking into some food and a drink to catch up after work so unfortunately we weren't dressed smart. Be aware you shouldn't be going in jeans and a hoodie.

Absolutely disgusting, pizza was cold and stale, pasta had no flavour and bacon was all fatty. Charged £5 for a coke that was mostly filled with ice. Was looking forward for a nice meal for a special occasion and completely ruined the day.

My wife and I had our Anniversary at Bella Italia (Hanover Street) on Thursday 10th October.. Can I please thank the team there for providing 1st class food and service throughout the night. We both enjoyed the Set Menu offer, The Chicken Milanese with a delicious Melted Garlic Butter was really tasty. Can we both thank Magda who made our night very, very special.. Her service was excellent and the few surprises she laid on for our meal created beautiful memories that will never be forgotten by us... Thank you Magda 🙏... We will most definitely be back soon.

Never ever ever ever again A small ashet of Lasagne £18.75 and a cheese and tomato pizza £14.95 ...disgraceful .. portions tiny will not return and won't recommend it .. Get a grip with your prices

Valeria served us the first day and two days later we returned due to her good service and the quality of the food.

We had Valeria, and our dinner was fantastic, truly the best server we’ve had on our entire trip in Edinburgh! Kids meals were fantastic and don’t miss the carbonara!

The restaurant was nice and cosy. A few of the tables are close together so there isn't much space or privacy, but the staff were lovely and very hardworking, and the food was delicious. It was a little expensive in comparison to other restaurants we ate in during our time in Edinburgh, so if you're on a budget whilst traveling it might not be the best option.
