Amazing location next to the river and close to centre. Staff are amazing and so helpful. Had an issue with room heating but management resolved quickly and with out fuss. Highly recommend

Had a meal paid for by my company . Offered a starter that didn't look appetizing and was very bland ,as for the main course that was 1 small roast potato which was cold as was the broccoli and the chicken which looked off . When you consider how restaurants, etc, are struggling in this present climate, I thought this experience was very disappointing .

Hotel is really well situated, there is a path through the alleyways that gets you nearly in the centre of town, and its right by the River Runner runner boat trips if you fancy a visit to the nature reserve to see the seals. Its a building full of character, and the staff were friendly, helpful and professional. There is parking out the front but only for 5-6 cars, although the hotel gets a reduced rate for the quayside Ringo car park nearby. We thought the breakfast was really nice, with a good range of menu choices, and waiter service. Room was comfortable with TV, large bed, a decent coffee machine and lots of coffee/tea choices. Fresh milk and water was supplied. Bathroom was clean although unfortunately the tiling was cracked through bath settlement.

Can't comment on the rooms as only ever used the restaurant and the pub. New manager at tail end of 2024 has made a big difference and now a great place for a quiet drink or food. I'd advise booking especially at weekends as it gets busy. Very popular with cyclists in the summer

Lovely hotel, well kept. Very friendly staff. Unfortunately didn’t get to try the breakfast, as we had to leave very early in the morning. Would certainly stay again!

Very poor establishment for vegetarians. The one veggie option for Sunday roast on the menu not available. All other veggie options contain mushroom (I have an allergy). Not well prepared in this sense, very disappointing. Ended up having chips and a side salad, which was given without salad dressing. Won’t be coming back!

Maybe your staff who park on our private estate road would do the honour of treating all the residents of the Willow bank development to a slap up Christmas meal as a good will gesture :-)

We recently stayed at The Bell, as we were celebrating my mother in laws 80th birthday! The moment we arrived we were welcomed with lovely smiles and the our rooms were ready! Waiting for the rest of the family to arrive we went to the bar and again the staff were brilliant. There was 14 of us, including 5 children! We had dinner at the bell that evening and the food and staff were excellent! Breakfast was one of the best I had in uk hotel! The hotel is old and yes in places looks a little tired but this gives the building character and its charm! Thank you for accommodating all Of us! We had a lovely weekend 😀

Came down for the weekend, and on the first night a family member had a nasty fall near the hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful, provided first aid, called the ambulance, and made sure we were looked after. On getting back to the hotel after a night in A&E, the staff member checked on us and gave us a reduction on our hotel bill (the accident wasn’t on hotel property, it was down to the wobbly Sandwich paving). They seriously couldn’t have been kinder. The room itself was clean, comfortable and spacious. The hotel seemed well used but it wasn’t noisy. The breakfast was fresh and very appreciated!

Spacious and clean room with a good restaurant in the same building. There is a bathtub, which I appreciate. I always check the cleanliness of the mattresses, which is essential for me and they were perfect. Optimal The room needs to be refreshed in some places, there was a part of the wall completely ruined but I saw that they are renovating the outside, maybe they will then move on to the rooms Excellent breakfast. I also had dinner, all good

Out for a meal for our 16th Wedding anniversary. It was a lovely evening with great food and the service was fantastic from everyone in the team. The only issue we had was that we were not given the option to leave a tip when paying by card, and we had no cash on us, so felt really guilty after leaving given the great experience!

Can't comment on the accommodation as we only called in for a drink and meal. The food was very good value for money and well cooked and presented. Both our main courses were a good size and very tasty, as was the sticky toffee pudding. The service was excellent, with the young staff being very professional and friendly. The choices on the menu were varied and should satisfy most people, even vegans. We will return for more meals as the Bell is in a great position with parking close by and is a nice alternative to the pubs we usually visit. My only criticism would be the general cleanliness of the dining area, which left me wanting to get a duster to the cobwebs and some polish for the table.

Sandwich is a nightmare for somebody with a disability scooter no dropped pavements. You had to ride on the road . The Bell Hotel was not disability friendly a very poor ramp. The food was great.

Went for lunch in this lovely hotel. The food was excellent - my husband had the fish and chips, which he said was delicious. My seafood linguine was also delicious - and plenty of seafood in it.

Had a delicious lunch here, as I wasn’t sure what else was open for a late lunch when I visited on a Thursday and so the team were welcoming and food arrived quickly. They even helped me find a table near a plug socket for my laptop and wifi was very good too. Club sandwich and chips were delicious

I went to watch the football very nice pub with friendly barmaid. Also guest ale was only £4.20 a pint and very tasty. One slight grip was that the juke box was on making the commentary on the match hard to hear. As the pub was fairly empty and most customers seemed to be watching the match (it was a 5.30pm kick off) I would hope for the juke box to be off. I will definitely come back again but not to see the football unless the jukebox is muted during the match.
