I like their Birthday cake so much, but it is little bit expensive. And I am also happy to see them open during lockdown for takeaways.

We always buy single desserts here for our anniversary but only for that reason as they are nearly £5 each. Saying that they are very nice indeed with really fresh fruit used and made with extreme care

The coffee like the service was acceptable but not on the same level as Costas. The tables were clean and tidy but I wasn't impressed with the sponge cake as it was too dry.

Just another chain restaurant that is ok. I’m not saying it’s bad just nothing special, ok for coffee and a bagel

Used to regularly visit with family. The new diner across the road however offers better food and better value. The savoury food here is decent. Whatever you order comes up fresh, hot, and overall good quality. The cakes however, look incredible. But after tasting almost everything they offer, everything is a little tasteless with more interest on decoration than flavour. Which is disappointing given the quality of the savoury food.

Belgique used to be my favourite place and staff was really good and friendly. Since the last 2 years, staff changed all the time and service is long. The staff does not look like very professional either. I went today for a drink and honestly had the most disgusting coffee ever and my fiancé had drink that was not tasting good either. It is a shame cos the atmosphere is very nice. I won't return there for long

A large and tempting range of pastries and cakes. Eggs Benedict cooked well but not great value at £7.50 for 1 egg. Had a fair range of dishes for Vegans and Vegetarians. Good service

I visited the place three days in a row for work reasons, consuming in a regular basis. They have table service but Massimo, one of the staff members, told me off the third day for leaving sugar paper and a stir-stick in the table the day before when they are meant to get paid to clean the table after you leave. Apart from that they ask you to leave when you order take away but you start eating in the place. And they consider that a drink is not enough to stay in their place for more than 3 hours when you have even spent enough money in coffees and pasties for the previous three days. Horrible customer service from Massimo as a waiter and very rude addressing to me and my colleagues while saying things.

We have visited Belgique at Loughton twice in the last month, each time that we have been visiting Buckhurst Hill. Each time the food and coffee have been great, the staff friendly and the service good. The price of the food and drinks is very reasonable. We keep asking the manager to "Please open a branch in Wales". A visit to the Loughton / Buckhurst Hill area is not compleat without a visit to this Belgique.

Been coming here for years and unfortunately had enough as has got progressively worse. The food is brilliant and really like their new menu but the service is appalling and always is every time we go. Tables over flowing with dirty plates, not nice to sit in, and a challenge to place an order as staff are always new and don't know what they are doing. We know some of the friendly good staff all left to go to another local restaurant. Today's waiter did not know what cutlery is and had to get someone else. Despite being a hot day they had no ice as 'had no delivery' why they couldn't buy some from Morrisons, just down the road, I'm not sure. Today we were served dirty glasses for our drinks and uncooked chips. Credit where due the manager did replace and refund them after we complained but why were they served?! It's a real shame as the food is normally great but not cheap so the bad service and environment ruins it.

I had breakfast with my friend on a Sunday morning and we found the service so slow. It took us around 20 mins to order and around 15-20 mins to get the food, so don't come here if you are in a rush. The food is excellent, though, the Egg Benedicts were to die for but the prices are so expensive. A breakfast for £30 is just too much as we are in Loughton! I might come back because of the food.

If you're looking for a good place to meet family and friends, for just a coffee or a light meal, this is a great choice. The manager, Massimo, is welcoming and charming, the food good and well presented, and the service from him and his team excellent.

I popped in for coffe and a snack with friends. We ordered a freshly cooked dish and cakes, all arrived in decent time and were very tasty. One of our party wanted gluten free items which the server checked and recommended from a section. Young, well trained staff who can use their initiative - something that is vital working in this fast paced environment/industry. This level of service really stands out and leaves a good mark. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area.

If you don't mind waiting 20 mins or more for food its ok but for people in a lunch hour it is not a good idea to visit. The food is ok nothing special I had pesto chicken but iI think they forgot the pesto. My friend had waffles and every time we have been the order has been wrong . Some of the staff are rude but others are ok. I think some staff training is needed and maybe change the procedure as there always seems to be enough staff but so very slow.

Went last Monday and had late breakfast. Second time being served by same waitress whom we now know the name, Kelly, and was absolutely pleasant! Seemed like they were short on staff but she did an awesome job and offered us loyalty card for our drinks when she brought us our check(never been offered one before). Came in today for some lunch but to be honest the feel was not the same and service was a little messy and chaotic. Will not come again on a weekend unless we can book our favourite waitress!

Belgique is a lovely restaurant. Staff are always very friendly and helpful creating a fun and lively atmosphere. The weekends can sometimes become very busy but the wait isn't too long with staff eager to help and find a comfortable place to accommodate. Cakes are fantastic and food is very tasty. I ALWAYS recommend to friends and family and I believe this lovely little spot is the best breakfast/lunch eatery in Loughton. Cannot wait to return in the near future and have another yummy hot chocolate.

I wanted to have a few friends for coffee & cake on my 65th birthday so I approached Belgique asking if this was possible. Courtney, the manageress, couldn't have been more helpful and ordered cakes, discussed how I wanted the tables and allocated me a staff member just to get our drinks! She also rang the day before to check everything was OK.On the Saturday itself it all went so well; my 15 friends enjoyed the experience, saying they wouldn't have thought about having a "do" for their event in a cafe! But it worked so well; gorgeous cakes, any drink you wanted, bowls of fruit for any diabetics of weight watchers - so,for me, a perfect venue for a celebration!

With only 0 customers sitting in to eat, we arrived and sat down for a nice breakfast ... I later found out how wrong we were! After waiting about 10-15 minutes for a waitress to turn up we went to the counter to place our order - so we placed the order at the bar then after a short while the eggs Benedict turned up, sadly the eggs were hard poached, not runny. When we pointed this out we were just told people like them hard, suffice to say we sent them back the second set turned up runny just how it should be!I'm no chef, but when you advertise eggs Benedict you would expect the eggs to be runny and on a muffin not a crumpet!!! The eggs issue can easily be resolved by the waitress asking at point of service how they would like their eggs cooked ... Oh that's right the staff were so busy talking amongst themselves or with a friend that popped in for a chat, that they couldn't even make it to the table to serve us ....Fast forward to bill time, after sitting with empty plates for about 10 minutes I decided to make my way to the counter to pay the bill! What surprised me was we were charged full price for what was clearly sub standard food and service. As you will see from the picture of the bill this was not cheap and far from value for money ... Doubtful we will ever return again, should have gone to Molens!

Belgique cakes are so nice but really overpriced. I went in and decided not to buy because they were going to charge extra on my card because it was below a minimum amount (something like 5 pounds?) I've never encountered a high street shop that does this. It put me off and I left.

Came for brunch and ordered eggs benidict with afternoon tea. The egg benidict was yummy but the hollandaise sause was a bit on the thick size! The sandwiches offered in the afternoon tea could have been better but the cakes were delicious. I love this place the food is good the milkshakes are divine(don't worry about the calories) the cakes make my sugar levels go up just looking at them and they bake their own bread. The North Atlantic salad is gorgeous. It gets quite busy with the locals, the staff are very good and friendly. I would say try this place but I wouldn't want it getting too busy so I can't get in! I travel about 8 miles to visit this eaterie and sometimes just to buy some bread. If I have a gripe I think it would be the seats I don't think they are best for sitting and eating, but it doesn't stop me returning again and again.

Loughton has so many cafes now but this one is my favourite. Their coffe and pastry is my quick pick-me-up during shopping and gym classes. Their food is lovely and made fresh, so children love their scrambled eggs and bagels. Cakes are very European and look and taste very nice, and if you feel too guilty eating a whole piece, they have lovely mini ones as well. This place is very popular with families over weekend and crowded but if you go early or bit late, it's usually fine.

Friends took us there for lunch and we were agreeably surprised to find so much Belgium is this place. The choice of cakes and chocolates to spoil your afternoon tea / coffee time is just eye-candy for little and not-so-little visitors. The lunch menu is a good mix of Belgian inspired dishes with British flair. Prices are reflecting the quality of the food, though rather democratic. Pop in here for a savoury appetite or a good afternoon tea room experience!

Awful Sunday lunch - started off with the waitress getting the drinks order wrong. Starters were ok, nothing exciting though. The starter plates were not collected and mains were served, waitress was quite rude when we pointed this out. The whole party had a roast with different meats, and not one was edible. So disappointed and will not be returning
