my daughter had a proceedure at Liverpool Royal, my husband and i had 2 hours to kill.We found this gem of a cafe. Fabulous, wonderful staff, amazing food, an absolute delightful experience. i even offered a £5.00 tip they would only take £2.00. A must visit toally special. we will definately visit again ......

One of the loveliest cafes I’ve ever been to! I ordered the Vegetarian full English which came with orange juice and tea included. Staff were really lovely and the cafe had such a warm atmosphere!

Had an appt at the hospital nearby and was looking for somewhere for breakfast when we came across this gem. The food was absolutely incredible. I'm almost looking forward to the next hospital appt as an excuse to go back. Had the Arabic breakfast, wife had the Kurdish. Highly recommend the Arabic breakfast as a fantastic vegetarian option. I went in for a croissant and an oat late. I requested for the lady who served me not to use her hands after she picked the croissant to warm it up. She replied her hands are clean. The point I am making is hand hygiene and standards . She said to me: “ you are too fussy “ . And to clarify I am not Asian either. I personally think customer service skills are required!

Lovely warm welcome. Just got a coffee and croissant (which were perfect- croissant was fresh and warm and coffee great!). Wish I had ordered more- they also have English and Kurdish breakfasts which looked amazing! Will be stopping off for the baklava on my way back to Manchester. Big recommend!

Waited over 20mins for 3 slices of premade cake to take away. Absolute joke. Wasnt even busy!

Always love popping in here for a morning coffee. Chicken butty and breakfast here is lovely too and good value. Have worked from here on occasion, just can't guarantee a plug socket. Nice friendly staff and good service. Not the fastest if you're in a rush but would highly recommend the coffee of this small independent over the chains close by ☺️

Hidden among the hustle and bustle of London Road sits a small, unassuming Kurdish cafe which far surpasses its equivalents on taste, quality, freshness, portion sizes, pricing and services. It’s the hidden gem (or perhaps a local legend?) of the area. I once brought a friend here who had been subsisting on a ‘student diet’ for months and for about a tenner they were able to get nourishing food, probably saving them from falling sick! Whenever I want to feel cared for and loved, I come here. If you have a child studying at one of the universities in the area, I would recommend urging them to come here once a week and order their Kurdish breakfast to catch up on their vitamins and minerals and whatnot. Like I am not joking. I do miss the halva they used to have in the breakfast and the bread is better the earlier you go but even after whatever has happened to the economy and with so many things closing down, or establishments cutting back on quality and quantity, Bekas cafe’s Kurdish breakfast still remains A++ I hope they never change!!

I had the Turkish breakfast and it was fantastic! In fact, an Arabic woman who is a regular asked to take a picture of it so she could make it for her husband. The service was just as good

We trusted on what was written here and on the website, about the opening hour, and went there at 8am. We waited until 8:30 and there was no signal of opening. It was very disappointing as we really wanted to try the food there.

I never knew Liverpool had a Kurdish Café but am I glad I found it! We entered a kind and soothing world when we entered today and were allowed to take our time with the menu and atmosphere before we ordered. I decided to try the traditional Kurdish Breakfast while my partner opted for an omelette and chocolate Croissant. My one gripe was that we waited around 20ish minutes for the food to arrive but when it did, I soon knew why - it was all freshly made! The Croissant was fresh from the oven and so flaky! The bread was hot and ready too. I fell in LOVE with the Halal Fried Salami and the eggs were to die for! Having the Greek Yoghurt too reignited my passion for the tasty treat and while I am not a fan of Tahini, it tasted bold and exciting. With only a small walk from home, this place is a surefire must-go! Authentic food at a bargain price if you mind a wait for perfection. My partner rated it 15 million stars!

I had a BEAUTIFUL mezze platter!! I really enjoyed my food it was lush!! The cafe is so cute and pretty with lots of aesthetically pleasing decorations would highly recommend!

The Arabic coffee is so sexy, it’s like going back to the Middle East and watching your coffee bubble up in their magic coffee machine. Comes with cute with baklava for free with your coffee. You get a lot for your buck, the juice comes free with your tray of food. Everything cooked to perfection. A rare find!

One of the best breakfast I have ever eaten was here in this lovely cafe. Had the Kurdish Breakfast. The presentation,not to mention the taste on the different dishes was mouth watering to say the least. Kurdish music in the background plus service with a smile definitely warrants a return visit - coming back with two friends on a day trip from Dublin in August.

Sadly, a very disappointing and unbelievably bad experience today. I ordered two cheese & tomato toasties from the young chap serving. Having waited at least twenty minutes for toasties to go, I prompted the young chap to chase up our order and asking him how much longer we needed to wait. He responded 'one minute', and hurried to the kitchen to convey my message. TEN minutes later, and having now prompted him a few more times, a very rude older lady came out from the back kitchen, holding the two toasties. At this point we had already asked for a refund on multiple occasions, which they flatly refused. I couldn't beleive what was going on. They said our order hadn't taken more than ten minutes, so I demanded they looked at my order time on their fancy till (they didn't give me a receipt) but they simply refused to check the order time. I looked at the toasties they were now forcing me to take, and noticed one of them was burnt. I pointed this out to the now irate older lady. She then picked it uo with her left hand (glove was only on her right hand) and flipped it upside diwn and said 'is this burnt?' to which I answered 'yes its burnt in the middle'. She then became very hysterical and started screaming at me whlst tearing the burnt toastie with its greaseproof paper as if it were a sheet of A4 paper. After this, she stormed of back to the kitchen. The young chap followed her, along with an older chap (probably her husband), who remained silent throughout the ordeal. I was left standing in the middle of the cafe alone with one unwanted toastie (pictured). As waited for someone to come back out. The young chap came out and after consulting with someone in the back kitchen, told me that only a refund for the burnt (and now destroyed) toastie would be given. I took the partial cash refund and left, never to return again. It's very hard to understand how such a nice place can have such good reviews. It really beggars belief. That scornful old lady is a nasty piece of work and will be found out very soon. I seldom leave ONE STAR reviews, but this needed to be written. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Can't fault this gem of a Kurdish Cafe. Visited twice in one day 🙈 The staff were delightful, Turkish coffee, Americano, Greek salad and baklava were delicious. Will definitely return when we visit again...the breakfast looked amazing

This place was right next to our accommodation. I opted for the Arabic breakfast. At £13, might be a bit pricey for breakfast, but was enough for 2 and a special treat. Everything was delicious, even the tomatoes were the best I've tasted in a long time. Vegetarian too. Well presented on a wooden tray. The Arabic bread was like triangles of crispbread. Had a chat with the server about the best way to make baklava - which was homemade and looked amazing, but we couldn't really justify getting any. And the nice lady at the next table told me that I should drink my Arabic coffee with the small sweet pastry in my mouth. Definitely made it better. A friendly and interesting place.

Never disappointed, the food is always delicious and the owner and staff are lovely. The mezze platter meal deal comes with fries and a drink and is always fresh and tasty. The waffles are fantastic, especially the pistachio waffle with baklava and pistachio ice-cream as toppings. Lovely atmosphere and always busy.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 I decided to go because I needed to work before my interview. Best decision made because the place was amazing. Well decorated independent cafe located in Liverpool city center. They have a wide range of coffees with different flavours. I went for one of the hazelnuts and it was delicious. Also, they have an amazing value for money in all the products. On top of that, the place offers different estaries from Arabic countries something I am always up for. The service was excellent. The toilets were clean. 🇪🇦Decidí ir porque necesitaba trabajar antes de mi entrevista. La mejor decisión tomada porque el lugar era increíble. Café independiente bien decorado ubicado en el centro de la ciudad de Liverpool. Tienen una amplia gama de cafés con diferentes sabores. Fui por una de las avellanas y estaba deliciosa. Además, tienen una increíble relación calidad-precio en todos los productos. Además de eso, el lugar ofrece diferentes estados de países árabes, algo que siempre estoy dispuesto a hacer. El servicio fue excelente. Los baños estaban limpios.

One of my preferred Breakfast location around city center. Like the Kurdish Breakfast menu, but English Breakfast is also good. I go there on my way to work or after I leave my child at school! Lovely staff’s and fresh ambience.

We had Kurdish and Arabic breakfasts today and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and accomodating but be prepared to wait for your food - it was worth the wait! I would definitely recommend this cafe.

This is an amazing Café! The staff is so friendly. We’ve got breakfast that was very tasty. Coffee, orange juice and the sandwiches were beautiful!! The Baklava is luscious! We could see that everything is made with love. Highly recommended.

What a lovely cafe. I'd never been to a Persian cafe before but I would definitely return. I think it's a family run cafe. The food was delicious, the desserts are very tempting and the prices are decent. The staff are polite and friendly. Try the baklava. Yum.

The lady who served my husband's coffee was very rude. My husband and I were seated waiting for his coffee, and she told us to get up so other guests could sit down at the table we were sitting at. Not only that but she messed up my husband's coffee order. Will not be returning.

I highly recommend this place. We went with our young kids and it didn’t disappoint. The food was beautiful, staff warm and friendly and price very reasonable. Probably the best waffle I’ve ever had too!!

Lovely Kurdish breakfast. Top quality.

First time at this cafe and won’t be the last. It was very clean and the service was excellent. I sat in and had a Turkish coffee which was perfect and some baklava which was lovely.

My wife and I stopped din for breakfast around 9:45am on a weekday. The premise itself is quite new and clean with options for comfortable seating. The owners are very friendly and took our orders promptly. It took a bit to get the coffee orders out as there is only the two of them and there were a few people placing orders after us. Worth the wait! I had the Porridge w/mixed seeds (£2.80) and the Cheese Omelette w/mushroom and bell peppers (£5.95). Delicious. A lovely breakfast. I rarely like using this term, however, "hidden gem" certainly applies to this cafe.

This is the place if you love Baklava like me. Wonderful lady served me and the cafe is very clean and modern. The ice cream was amazing and all the food was well priced.

Bekas is great cafe in Liverpool

I’ve been a customer for around 4 years now since Bekas was an online business. And I could never trust any other place in Liverpool to deliver the service and food that Bekas do. Their baklava’s are to die for and the breakfast, with a caramel iced latte is the best thing I’ve ever had. Service is brilliant - great atmosphere and very friendly and polite staff. 1000/10.

Had falafel sandwich and coffee takeaway. Sandwich is very nice, but bad coffee-uneven and too hot.

Incredible cafe. We order vegan baklava whenever we have people over and it always gets lots of compliments. We even ordered a bulk order for our wedding and everyone loved it! The staff are super accommodating, couldn’t recommend them more!

Lovely place with happy, friendly staff. Made us feel very welcome, our children too. There's books for the kids to read (English and Kurdish!) The mango milkshakes are delicious 😋 Kurdish tea and chai latte too. Also, have vegan options available 😻

We had the most enriching experience with our breakfast at Bekas Cafe. We being vegetarian were a bit hesitant of ordering but the beautiful hosts and owner put us at ease and served us a very traditional vegetarian breakfast on an early autumn morning, a cherishing memory of Liverpool. Don’t forget to buy the most original Baklavas you’d find in the North, all homemade!
