Christakis in Liverpool

Myself and my family cane here for my son's 17th birthday. We booked a Greek night. We didn't get a Greek night. We got half an hour of Greek night were the belly dancer came out and she was good, then the rest of the night went down hill, they played extremely loud dance music. We felt like we were in a rave. We waited an hour for our starters, when they brought the mains they hadn't even cleared the starter dishes and gave us no cutlery. We were told if we booked for 7.30pm we would have finished eating by the time the Greek dancing starts. But because they were so slow in serving, we ended up trying to eat our mains with people dancing literally on top of our heads to YMCA. I didn't eat my mains, I couldn't relax and enjoy myself. I asked the bar man if I could speak to the Manager. He asked what was wrong so I explained, "I've paid for a Greek night but didn't get a Greek night, that's a night club". He asked me, "How do you know it's not a Greek night". I told him "because I've been to them before and I'm Greek so I know what to expect". The Manager came over and I had to shout over the music. He told me not to shout at him. I explained I wasn't shouting at him, I was shouting over the music. I told him the problem, his response was, "What do you want me to do? my son is in hospital having an operation so we can't do the Greek dancing". Then as a business you should hire someone else and give people what they pay for! He also asked me my name, and asked where my family where from because I told him I was Greek Cypriot. He started talking to me in Greek amd I told him, I was born in this country so don't speak fluent Greek. He carried on talking in Greek and I understood some disrespectful words. To not cause any problems as it was my son's birthday, I thanked him and went back upstairs. He said he would put some Greek music on. He put one Greek song on. Needless to say, we won't be back. A very disappointing night indeed.

Four of us (two friends with our sons) enjoyed a fabulous meal at Christakis. We started with a selection of starters, which we all shared, and were gifted with an additional starter from the restaurant. All of them were absolutely delicious! We then had our main courses which again were delicious...OMG the portions were HUGE!!! Not only did we get our main item (e.g. lamb/chicken/moussaka) but each was served with rice AND chips! Very generous but, hate to say it, quite daunting for me to have so much on the plate at one time!!! My son did finish his plateful and took the remaining half of mine home with him to eat the following day! Service was first class! The manager was really friendly and made us feel incredibly welcome throughout our visit. Our friends have booked to return for their son's graduation meal and we are returning separately too. Definitely recommend!

Great food, service and great value for money. They stayed open beyond their closing time to accommodate us. Would definitely recommend and come again.

Omg, this was truly unbelievably great! I've eaten at a lot of Greek restaurants around the world, including Greece, but this was by far the standout for all the right reasons. We had the meat platter for two and everything went beyond flawless to genuinely elevated. Amazing food, great service and great value. Think we'll still be talking about this lunch for many years to come.

Food wasn't the best. And one of the servers was absolutely rude. There was a scouse lady server with dark hair who was absolutely wonderful. Cant fault her very poilet friendly and happy. Then another server who was rude and name us feel like we were putting her out. Really shouldn't be in that kind of job.

Thank you so much guys for a brilliant birthday meal, you never ever disappoint the food is incredible the restaurant is immaculate clean, the service is impeccable and the cost is amazing value can’t wait to come back again

Really disappointed in the service here. Will start with the food which was lovely as always but the service really let this down. Start with my drink being spilled by the waitress over me and the table she did apologise but no offer of replacement drink and did not change my cutlet which was covered in beer. Once starters came and plates being cleared we asked to waiter for more drinks and his reply was I’m not listening now I am clearing the table. He then took the plates away and around 5 minutes later he returned with our main dishes and once he done that said so you wanted more drinks then. We have been going to this restaurant for years from the old building to this and this is the worst service we have ever had. Really disappointed

Such a disappointment! I have recommended Christakis to my friends and we were planning to eat there tonight. My friend checked online that early evening menu is valid till 6pm as it states clearly on Christakis website. She booked a table for 5:30pm. We sat down and made the waitress aware we’d like to order from early evening menu. She said it’s fine and we started ordering. Only after a minute while we were ordering, we were interrupted by someone sitting in a corner (a so called “manager”) to advise that we cannot order from the early evening menu as it’s finished at 5pm. We were really surprised as on the website it clearly states it is valid till 6pm. They stated “an old menu is on the website”. The staff was stubborn and did not want to cooperate. At the time in the restaurant there was only one table apart from us (in the whole restaurant!). Yet, they didn’t want to offer us early evening menu. That made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. I was told by the waitress that she wouldn’t be able to put the offer through the till which was a complete lie as I was at Christakis couple of weeks before with my boyfriend. We called ahead to check if we can arrive 15 min after the early evening menu finishes and still could order from it, and surprise surprise…there was no problem with that then. I feel Christakis was wrong in this situation and as much as I love going there, we left today strongly disappointed and unlikely to come back. How can a restaurant make their customers feel unwelcome? Awful and disgraceful. We ended up going to a different Greek restaurant in town tonight which offered great service, ambience and lovely food. Much bet Christakis.

Fantastic service from the second we entered the door! The food we ordered (see photo) was wonderful, and there was plenty of it aswel! Amazing authentic Mediterranean decor, and lovely touches like white blossom trees in the window seats. Prices were really reasonable aswel, we were definately pleasantly surprised. Like I say, everyone was so lovely and friendly from start to finish, even down to the complimentary Turkish delight just as we finished - Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, with great food to boot!

Excellent food attentive staff great value for money.Have been a couple of times recently wouljd definitely recommend for families and friends.

Fin atmosfære og veldig hyggelig betjening. Koselig og autentisk med gresk musikk og kokk. Vi bestilte en rett for to med ulike typer grillet kjøtt, og hver eneste bit var perfekt! Sammen med gresk salat, pita, ulike dipper, fries og ris var det et fantastisk måltid. Trekker dog poeng for en forferdelig «strawberry daiquiri».

We visited as a family for an occasion. Restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and We where greeted with smiles as the staff are very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and was hot and fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant and hope to return soon

I visited Christakis for a Networking Event with Merseyside Young Professionals - what a brilliant night! The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us. The food was lovely. The entertainment was phenomenal. Highly recommended for large groups!

We booked a table for Saturday night 7:30pm 25th March on the website. Received a confirmation email of the booking no problem and then another reminder email of our booking on the Saturday morning. We arrived just before our booked time of 7:30pm to be advised they had no record of the booking. No one could explain how this could be the case despite the confirmation email we had received from them. We were asked if we had paid a deposit which we hadn’t, at no point in the booking process we’re we asked to pay a deposit. Not able to fit us in and so we had to try and find somewhere else to eat. Strongly suggest you review your online booking system as there is clearly an issue. Very disappointing experience all round.
