On 9th/10/24, 2020, went to buy food, but this man could not allow me to speak or look at the menu, he was like go to next door, that's where cheap food is, that his too busy and short of staff, I asked him can I look at the menu he insisted he gas lots of orders and he has to go, I should just tell him what I want or he goes, eventually I has to say asimple food, because I jeered to eat some thing, very rude, and has no customer care

Food was really tasty, piping hot & delivered on time by a very friendly polite owner. We ordered just before they closed & you could tell the food had just been cooked by the quality & freshness. This was our first time ordering so can imagine we were sceptical from previous reviews, but we were not disappointed. Highly recommend. 10/10.

We ordered set menu A and it was super quality and value for money. Sweet n sour chicken balls were crispy, tasty and full of good quality chicken, beef in black bean sauce was full of tasty beef and veg and was delicious, plus great egg fried rice and prawn crackers.

I've just eaten (sort of!) a takeaway from this restaurant. I have never eaten such a tasteless and bland Chinese meal EVER!! It was so awful, I couldn't even finish the food on my plate. We always order enough so that we can eat the leftovers the second day but there's no way I was going to eat this food again! It went straight in the bin!! Even the Prawn Crackers had no taste!! What a waste of £30!! Will never order from here again!!

This is our favourite chinese takeaway and we have never had a bad experience. It is a lovely family run restaurant and the food is tasty and reasonably priced. I usually ask their advice for trying new dishes and they are always honest, they don't try to sell more for the sake of it. Recommend trying this place as it's always been amazing for us.

I have been ordering takeaway from this restaurant for a good 5 years, with no fault whatsoever, food is always amazing, but the past two orders I have had delivered, we have waited up to 2 hours for delivery, this is unacceptable. It’s such a shame because the food is so good but the delivery time is such a let down.

Would not eat here again. We had a family takeaway on 20th June and it was tasteless - especially the Chinese curry. The water chestnuts and bamboo shoots were slimy and tasteless. The sweet and sour chicken balls were just about acceptable. All in all bad quality for the money.

I’ll start by saying the food could not be faulted and was very good but we ordered a delivery. Original time was over an hour, we then received a message telling us it would be late. We had a zoom family quiz booked so was short on time. I called and asked if it would be quicker if we picked it up. They said yes, we arrived at the agreed time only to be kept waiting another half an hour 😡. They then still charged us for delivery. Not impressed. We missed the start of family quiz.

Was pleasantly surprised by this takeaway Chinese. They did very tasty sweet and sour balls, along with excellent prawn toast and chow mein. I would recommend you stick to the regular Chinese takeaway food, as the slightly more unusual stuff like Chinese BBQ chicken wasn’t to the same standard as the popular dishes like noodles and sweet and sour balls. They’ve clearly perfected those! Delivery time took an hour but the food was piping hot when it arrived.

My boyfriend and I ordered a takeaway from here, it took ages to arrive an hour and 20 mins to be pprecice, when it did, the chow mein was nearly cold and dry and pretty much tasteless, the beef curry where to even begin, it was disgusting, it smelt off all the sauce was congealed and when we dared to try it we found it cold and chewy and because of the smell we were wondering if it was actually beef or something else?? The squid was floating around in spiced liquid and the chips were soggy. Will never order from here again unless I fancied a day off work with food poisoning. That food was 100% not cooked fresh. Below is a picture of the so called beef curry.

This is the second time this restaurant has taken 2 hours + with no adequate explanation. Do they not expect to receive orders on a Friday evening or do they just not care at all about the service they provide. 2 crying kids and 4 hungry adults. But they did offer 2 whole cans of coke to make up for it!! Needless to say we cancelled the order and will be finding another Chinese. Useless.

So from the reviews I gather that eating in is better than takeaway. Shocked at the bad reviews to be honest as I have eaten here twice now for the all you can eat menu and have thoroughly enjoyed it. We ordered the duck at the same time as our other starters so that they could start preparing it whilst we ate our first courses. The duck came with pancakes, cucumber and spring onion slices and the hoisin sauce - they were truly devine and duck cooked to perfection. The rest of our courses were equally fantastic. It is great value for money and very tasty food.

I am somebody who likes to eat. My friends are people who like to eat. We all like to eat Chinese food. Not anymore. Given the choice between eating here again or having my head slammed repeatedly in a fire exit whilst being lectured by Caitlin Jenner, I would pick the door / transsexual hell. I am fully aware that serving food to a large group of people is a difficult thing to manage. Some restaurants manage it admirably, but it seems that Beijing's strategy is to just not manage at all. We were all handed menus an hour and a half after arriving but then told to completely disregard that because they would bring large plates of starters out that we could all share. We don't want to share. Sharing is not what you do when you've signed up for an 'all you can eat' gig.The starters were average at best - Instead of cooking the spare ribs in the normal fashion, it seems as if they were placed under the rocket exhausts of a space shuttle until all character apart from that of absolute hideousness had been incinerated out of them. The Prawn toast was alright, if your definition of alright is absolutely not alright. The satay chicken skewers were pretty good, but the spring rolls contained absolutely no spring and no roll. The starters were consumed eventually and the plates were cleared. We were then told that we would be having duck. I have no idea why .. nobody asked for duck .. but we were going to be having duck. What if we didn't want duck? Well that's too damn bad because we're getting duck. ALMOST 45 MINUTES LATER, the duck arrives. Just 4 plates of shredded duck. No pancakes or spring onions or cucumber strips or plum sauce. Just duck. So we start tucking into the duck .. similarly cooked to oblivion so there was not the slightest hint of moisture to be found. The texture was somewhere between tampons and leather and so scored highly on the 'disgusting’ scale. How depressing to treat meat with so little care and attention; those animals that gave their all so that we might have a decent meal for my friend's milestone birthday and they had their efforts thrown away thanks to Beijing's’ loathsome kitchen activities.I managed to squeeze an order in for a portion of singapore noodles and kung pao chicken. It was so bad I can't even be bothered to explain how bad it was. I'll just say that the amount of salt they used has now completely ruined my internal organs and I must immediately go to hospital for dialysis. I had to leave after 3 and a half hours. My friends were still ordering their main course. They're probably still there now. I'm going to bed. I might see them back there for breakfast. Probably more duck. The only redeeming thing about this place is that the staff are friendly. To be fair to them, they were trying really hard .. a group of 17 people is probably not their usual thing and they were just completely overwhelmed really. Maybe I've been a bit harsh. No, not really, the food was still shocking. Don't eat here unless you want to starve to death.

Missed dinner at the hotel I was at whilst in town so was glad to find this takeawayvery close by. The restaurant didn't have many tables but looked clean and beautifully presented. Ordering process rather slow due to waiter occupied with cashing up or something but after ten minutes the food did arrive and it was hot by the time I got to the hotel. Wasn't offered any chopsticks but it did'nt bother me too much. Inside the restaurant as you enter are koi carp swimming rather uncomfortable in a tank that looks to small to house seven. I made a comment hinting that maybe the fish would do better in a larger tank and the waiter said something about air pumps, i couldnt really understand his accent. The restaurant was decorated in fairy lights which looked nice and I asked him if it was in preparation for Christmas to which he replied no. Not bad, Kung Po Chicken and rice as good as any other restaurant but didnt have cashew nuts which I like. Good prices and near a few other oriental take outs nearby.

I previously visited here with family for New Year's Eve and left a review which you can see below. We visited again for dinner and was there for nearly 3 hours! We arrived at 7 it took an hour + between the starters and then the duck we ordered after. The duck was greasy and wasn't tasty at all.We then ordered our mains and by 10pm, and after being told it would only take "5 minutes" (it never did) we asked for it in take away boxes as we couldn't be bothered to sit there any longer. 10 minutes later the waitress asked if we were okay and we advised that we were waiting for our main to take home and which she replied "oh I cancelled the order" surely if it was only 5 minutes away from being cooked it wouldn't of been an issue so they clearly lied.Beijing have an issue of favouring their take away customers over their restaurant customers. There's nothing worse than hearing the phone constantly ringing and people coming in for collection standing behind you watching you whilst they wait. They need to prioritise better and get more staff it's ridiculous! There were tables in before us who were waiting ages for their food! Their tables took a long time to clear. Even customers were ringing up asking where their take away was!The waitress was apologetic time and time again but after the first few times it's meaningless! As they aren't able to organise themselves better they will lose so many customers and as it hasn't changed since the last time we visited I doubt it will. There are better Chinese buffets in the area!

We have used this restaurant many times before as we like the idea of a fixed cost (£14.90) per person for all you want from the menu and you are waited on and not a buffet. We went there this New Years eve and although busy, the service and food were good.We arrived Saturday 29th Sept at 19.00, 6 people and a three year old. We ordered the first course of mixed starters, this arrived around 19.45. Around 20.00 we ordered the Duck course for everyone, this arrived around 08.30 and was not up to the usual standard, very skimpy portion and was greasy. We then ordered several main course dishes between the six people, but only had a couple of dishes each.We waited till around 21.15 and asked what had happened to our food, we were told it would be another five minutes. By this time I think all of us had lost our appetite through boredom of waiting. We asked if the food could be put into dishes as it was getting late for the little one to be out.A few of our party went home and three of us paid the bill and waited for the food.At 21.45 we asked where the food was and the waitress said she thought we had asked to cancel it, (why would we still be sitting in the Restaurant). One of the customers in the restaurant confirmed our request for the food to be taken out. The manager did appear and offered £20 compensation, when we said we had paid £125 for food and drink, he did in the end pay £40, but that was not the point, our family Saturday night out was ruined. They seem to look after take away orders rather than Restaurant customers. The worse thing is people coming in to collect orders, which spoils the atmosphere for everyone else. I didn't like sitting eating my meal with 8 people standing behind me chatting whilst waiting for their order. We were told that they were one chef down as he had gone back to China. No excuse, get another. They have a lot of hard work to do before we will ever go back there again.

Visited on a Friday evening. The internal decor is somewhat basic, but the food was extremely good. The best bet is the Buffet menu all you can eat for £14.50, unlike most buffet menus the food is cooked to order, so is much better, you also avoid the problem of luke warm rice which can be dangerous. I would certainly go again, the establishment would benefit from a makeover, but this might put the prices up ! They seem to have a quite busy take away business. Service was friendly and reasonably fast, so a good place to go if you like Chinese

I ate here with my boyfriend and his family on new years eve. We got there at 7 and didn't end up leaving until 10! The restaurant was very busy and their take away orders didn't stop coming in. There was only 2 staff out front and they were manning the customers in the restaurant and also sorting out take away's. They should of realised they were due for a busy night as they were fully booked so should of employed more staff to avoid their customers from waiting. The food came out slow however was piping hot and lots of choice. We ordered the platter of mixed starters which there were enough of for the 7 of us all tasty and hot. We also ordered some additional starters such as dumplings which were tasty. After the starter we ordered a duck to share, again hot and lots to go round. We all had different mains, some came out warm, not piping hot as expected however was again tasty and their coconut steamed rice was amazing! I would visit here again and would recommend - you would need to free up your whole night though as its not a quick buffet. It's all made to order rather than out to help yourself which is better. Price is reasonable for what your given and even though the service was slow they couldn't be any more apologetic.

Thurs 20th November. I took my nephew for a Chinese meal here to mark the end of our work in Eastbourne. Straight away the set menu leapt out at us and sounded reasonable at £16.90. We requested one each or at least enough for two. We were brought a set menu for one, expected to share and paid £16.90 each! when I questioned this in a calm and polite manner the lady quickly called for 'back up' from the kitchen which then escalated into a shouting match to the point where we were intimidated into paying over £40 for a meal for one including a pint of lager that worked out at £5.60 a pint! We had 5 people 'ganging up' on us until we paid up. I can however recommend the kebab shop a few doors down where we immediately went after because we were still hungry, ridiculous, avoid at all costs!

Had a great family meal - went for the 'all you can eat' deal and unlike some places where 'all you can eat' is from a buffet, here you just choose whatever you want from the menu so it's really a chinese banquet for £15 a head. Food was great too - really big chunks of pork, duck was tasty, squid was tender, prawn toasts had really thick prawn on them. All food cooked fresh and delicious. Service was excellent, really friendly staff. Best chinese I've ever had.

Its been a while since I used Beijing, but having been a customer for a fair few years, I was gutted to read some of the more recent reviews on here... I decided to give it another go and once again, I got the service i had been used to in the past.. I wonder if there has been a change of ownership tho as its very different when you ring to order.. However, the call was taken and the lady was very polite and the delivery arrived within stated time... Food was a good as it always has been.. Was I lucky? or did other reviewers just have a bad experience... I can only say as I find, and i will carry on using beijing for the foreseeable future

Recently we have ordered three takeaways and on every occasion a dish was missing. Another issue was we had to wait over an hour for three dishes. It is a shame as their food is very good, however it doesn't compensate for the service.

We have been going here for a couple of years but it has gone down hill to the point we will not be returning. I agree with the other review the wait for food to arrive is suspiciously long even though we were the only ones in the restaurant but the staff were happy to keep asking us if we wanted more drinks. The food took forever to come out but then when they had forgot one of our dishes that was able to be cooked in only a few minutes. Portion sizes are small, and not great quality, customer service is non existent and they were eager to clear plates even though one of our party was still eating. For all you can eat it seems good value, but portion sizes are small and they take so long delivering food it prevents you ordering more and makes you buy more drinks. Oh and they charge full price for small children which is outrageous. There are better Chinese restaurants to try in Eastbourne don't waste your money here.

I placed an order for delivery which took about 10 minutes. The girl I was originally speaking to suddenly passed the phone to someone else and I then had to go through the whole order again. I was also asked to give my address three times and to spell every word even though they have delivered before. I politely asked if they could ring me when they arrive as we are all hard of hearing and my (very loud) intercom phone is faulty, so that I would know that they are here and could buzz them in. They said, that it was fine.An hour later, I received a call from the delivery driver telling me that my food wasn't quite ready yet and could I please confirm my address again! I gave my address and once again asked if he could please ring me when he finally arrives so that I can let him in to the building. He had a very thick accent (Russian?) and all I could understand was 'don't worry, don't worry!'.Almost another hour later, I received a call from the delivery driver telling me in an irritated tone that he was at the door - I assumed he meant the intercom and went to buzz him in, but he barked at me that he was 'AT THE DOOR!' before hanging up. I went to open the front door and sure enough, there he was hands on hips, looking aggrieved. 'I DID knock!' he said. He then practically threw my order at me before scampering off. I didn't get a chance to ask him how he got into the building, or to tell him that we are all hard of hearing and that we can't hear a knock hence my request for a phone call. And the food? I ended up throwing most of it away as it tasted like it had been covered in sugar. A couple of the dishes were edible, but really nothing to rave about. All in all, I found it a hassle and hard work ordering from Beijing and think that a two hour wait and a bad attitude from the delivery driver is unacceptable. I won't be ordering from them again.

I have ordered a take away. On the phone the woman was really rude and when we got our delivery there were not cutleries whereas I had asked for it. Being not at home it was quite difficult to eat a King prawns rice and a coconut chicken without a fork.In addition the King prawns rice was really bad and my friend who ate it had a food poisoning. The coconut chicken was quite good but it's a shame that there were more onions than chicken pieces...

We tried this restaurant out and the starters were nice. However, we had a long wait between each course, as did the other two tables in there. Our duck course arrived without pancakes and by the time these arrived the duck had gone cold. By the time our final course turned up we were ready for bed. It seems like the takeaway orders take precedence over anyone eating in the restaurant. The staff were not rude but were not particularly welcoming. We paid with one member of staff and left. The other waitress then came out into the street and called after us asking if we had paid. After this, we would never go back.

Booked this restaurant for my works end of month meal based on the good reviews.Four of us went at 8.30pm on a saturday night and the restaurant wasn't too busy, firstly the tables were really small, we struggled to all get around the table, but as its a small place we didnt really mind. One thing that did really annoy me and i nearly got up and walked out was the fact we were paying for an all you can eat Chinese, yet after having a bottle of wine and a couple of beers after around 35 mins we were finally asked what we wanted to eat. We ordered two dishes each thinking we could all have a bit of each others, prawn toasts, spring rolls ect. while we was waiting we were asked if we wanted more drinks, witch we did, another bottle of wine and another two beers. so far we had been there for around 45-50 mins and hadnt touched anything food related apart from the free prawn crackers on the table,by the time the food turned up we has polished off four large beers and two bottles of wine, (we could kind of see what was happening here) it got to about 9.25-9.30 ish nearly an hour and one silver platter turned up, first of all we thought maybe this was an extra share dish to nibble on to go with our dishes we ordered, but no... everything we had ordered between the four of us came out on this one silver plate, ONE prawn toast, ONE spring roll, litteraly one of everything we ordered! so the sharing idea was out of the window! i asked for more prawn crackers and the lady asked if we wanted more drink, so four more large beers were ordered, out came the beers and prawn crackers and the waitress swiftly wondered off before we could order anything else. we tried to wave down the waitress a few times to order more after we had eaten the tiny amount we were dished up but she just walked past and smiled each time. by this point it was getting late, we was bored and pretty tipsy and was ready to go onto are next destination, it took us about 35 mins just to get the bill! i think they were trying to avoid us from ordering more food! we left the restaurant about 11pm, ive never ever been in a restaurant for so long in my life and eaten so little.i would NEVER EVER come back here and would advise no one to go here unless you want to get completely ripped off.they clearly don't want returning customers, all about making money of their drinks. and at £15 a head they clearly made alot of money on the food.

I have used Beijing for some 7 years or more now... Not once in that time have I ever been disappointed or had cause for concern.. I regularly get a take away delivered and if they say its going to 45 mins, then 45 mins it is... Yes you may have to wait an hour for a meal to be delivered, but that only means they are busy!!! I would worry more if a Chinese could deliver in 15 minutes flat!!!! Quality like Beijing is worth waiting for!!!

Have been to this restaurant 3 times in the past couple of months and have not been disappointed. You can order as much as you like, but will be charged if you over order and leave dishes untouched, which is fair enough. The starters are particularly delicious, but leave room for the mains. Yes, the dishes are quite small to avoid wastage, so order extra if it is your favourite - they are quite happy to do this. Staff have always been lovely and friendly.

.Read the reviews and thought it would be a good option as so close to our hotel. The wait for someone to serve us should've been the first clue we were in for a terrible night. 3 hrs the whole experience was and when we asked why it was taking so long, told us kitchen was busy because of their takeaway side. We then asked the lady that was in charge why she greeted everyone but us and she said it wasn't like that and walked away. Avoid at all cost! Food was good but had a bitter after taste because of the bad service.

We used to order regularly from this restaurant as were all vegetarian and they had a suitable menu. However one time the order was missing a dish. We called and told them. They said theyd send it out in half an hour. We said this wasnt very good as the rest of the food would be cold. They were not willing to give us an credit on the order or resend the order although the mistake was theirs. In fact the girl we spoke to was pretty rude and offhand and when we said we wouldnt be buying from them again, she more or less told us to get lost!

We normally get our take away from the golden flower down seaside in eastbourne but thought we would try this one. We had crispy chicken, shredded beef, pork balls, duck in plum sauce and rice/noodles. Crispy chicken no taste, shredded beef ok but to much chillie, pork balls, try and find the pork in the batter. duck, served dry (where is the sauce) on a bed of lettuce. All food was just warm not hot. Wont be going back, will stick to golden flower

we ordered a takeaway to be delivered at 7.30 pm one evening and after 3 phone calls it eventually turned up after almost 2 hours !!! We were told it was "on its way" at 8.30 pm. called at 9 pm .. to be told it was " definately " on its way and finally at 9. 20 we were told that "this time it is really on its way " !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.. the food though admittedly tasty had to be heated in the microwave as it was all cold..... We will never order from there again. We have only been in town a couple of weeks and this was our first takeaway.. it will be our last from Beijing.

We decided to try Beijing as our usual Chinese restaurant in Pevensy Bay had not been so good lately. We were not disappointed. Six of us ate so I had pre booked a table which was fortunate as it is a small restaurant. I happened to mention that it was my wife's birthday and to our surprise we found Birthday banners above our table. A lovely touch as we were not regulars. The food was delicious. Ribs are my favourite & I was spoilt for choice with three different types to chose from. We enjoyed the starters so much we ordered again. There was no problem with this. We then had the crispy aromatic duck to share between 4 of us which was a good size portion. The other 2 went for a veggie option of which there was a good choice. Main course was good with a variety of dishes ordered. I stayed on the duck of which there were several choices which was a bonus for me. Again my wife found plenty of choice on the veggie section of the menu.Unfortunately unlike The Happy Dragon at Pevensey Bay puddings are charged extra. However the choice was good. I went for a 3 scoop sorbet mixture which finished the meal off well. £3.95 which was reasonable. The bill with three drink rounds & a bottle of red came to £52 a couple which we thought reasonable..The decor was pleasant but nothing special and it was clean.Service from our Chinese waitress was very good. Some dishes are quite small but we reordered straight away which was no problem. This seems to be becoming the norm in this style of restaurant. We had a very enjoyable evening and will definitely return soon.

We have been regulars here for many years...and the last 3-4 times it has been poor...getting worse each time. The "all you can eat" menu is a joke. We are not huge eaters but the portions are so tiny you have to order 3 starters to get a normal sized portion. The result being you feel awkward ordering more. We asked for half a crispy duck but were given a quarter...etc etc. The food is not very fresh, many dishes are reheated...(and not even that well heated!) or frozen and then deep fried. The place was empty on a friday night, apart from ourselves yet the service was very slow and quite rude...the owner talking on the phone to a friend while our food was getting cold on the counter. Plus they take orders for takeaways while you are sitting there listening...and waiting. Two of the staff had an argument. The waitress was sniffing and sneezing and gave us chopsticks but held them in her hands by the sharp end as she handed them over. The wine list is very poor as well. It's a shame because it was good back in the day, but we will not go there again and I suggest discerning diners avoid this place now.

Brilliant food and really friendly service, I just wish this place was nearer home so I could go more often. If I get back to Eastbourne I will certainly go back there. I would just say that you should be prepared for a fairly long sitting as they cook everythign fresh as you order and as the buffet is "each as much as you like" you can order several dishes. We certainly didn't mind sitting and waiting though as the whole experience was great. If you are in Eastbourne go to this restaurant!

I visit this restaurant time and time again. There is a vast selection of different dishes and the £14.90 for the all-you-can-eat menu represents great value for money. The food is of good quality, all cooked to order, and so arrives at your table just cooked so its nice and hot so you can really taste the different flavours. This is so much better than just being pre-prepared and then heated up, or pre-cooked and left out buffet style, which seems so common in Eastbourne. Finally, the service is attentive and efficient yet provides the privacy to enjoy your evening. I highly recommend this restaurant for some really decent Chinese food in Eastbourne.
