Collected Chinese for a take away. The special Chow Mein is always thoroughly enjoyed. No complaints whatsoever

We visited as a party of 4. Originally, we asked for the buffet, but we were told that it's only available Sunday-Thursday. They had the choice of a set meal, or you could order each item off of the menu. We decided on a set menu for 4 of us. There were a few different set menus to choose from, all of them great. Ours came with a mixed starter for us all, a course of crispy duck and pancakes, and then a course of mains as well. HUGE portions and very delicious, well worth every penny. I honestly preferred the set menu instead of the buffet in the end.

Excellent food. Table of 7 on a quiet Thursday night. Service was excellent only reason for a 4 instead of 5 only one waitress who was doing both sides of restaurant and take away. She was however extremely polite and working as quickly as she could. we had the all you can eat option huge choice of dishes.

The smoked chicken is phenomenal.

The best Chinese restaurant and takeaway for miles around, we really missed it when it closed down due to a devastating fire but really nice to see it up and running again, would be great to see a lunchtime all you can eat buffet back on the menu for weekdays.

Local Chinese is closed on a Tuesday so tried this one for the first time today. And what a good surprise, food was super quick and delicious, better than my other one so will order this from now on!

Potentialy one of the best, if not the beat Chinese restaurant and takeaway in the area! The staff is always helpful and friendly! Food is incredible and being coeliac I never had issues with gluten as their menu clearly states which allergens are used to prepare the meal and they also make a note when taking an order ensuring that food doesn't contain gluten.

Great tasting food, the staff were very accommodating on changing ingredients to help one of our party with a sensitivity to certain items. Even though it was busy the service was fast and the food hot.

Not the sane as old school Chinese fried rice what was still as white as normal boiled rice the duck was not normal why is it in the uk it's hard to get proper chineese food where the meat is cooked fresh and not soggy the duck was like it had gone dry then cooked chicken balls small I suspected are frozen and when it cost near 40 bucks not the best

Delicious!! The best Chinese food we have had! :) We moved to just outside watton nearly two years ago now and we were yet to try food from a local chinese restaurant due to either the huge queues or just none being open. Then Beijing Diner reopened, we saw on Facebook it had stunning local reviews and it did not disappoint. We ordered at 5pm, collection was 15-20 minutes, got there and it was ready :). Food was so so good, will 100% be ordering again. Also, the inside is just beautiful. Will be coming to dine in, in future as well :). Lovely to have real good chinese food so close. I will also add my family who house sat for us also got a takeaway and said it was absolutely delicious food as well, couldn't recommend highly enough either!

Food is good, however, the wait times are ridiculous. I have been there 3 times since it re-opened, everytime I was told between 25-35 minute wait, it hasn't been less than 1 hour and 15 mins. Its clear from the call volume they are taking on more than they can handle!

Had a lovely takeaway tonight. Cant recomend them more. Just a little treat for the 2 of us. We had the mixed h'ordvers which were about double the size of what we have had before locally and delicious, especially the seaweed and th spicy sweet and sour sauce with it. Chicken balls were perfectly cooked and not soggy batter or over cooked and dry. The chicken was perfect and a little moist so we were very happy. The sweet and sour sauce with them was a little sweet for our taste but still very good so no complaint as its personal to us. When we order next time we will see if they can replace it with the spicy version that was with the o'rderves. We had our favorite house special chow mein which was one of the best I've ever had. I tried a new dish for me which was duck with bamboo shoots and Chinese mushrooms which I really enjoyed, we also had my husbands favourite s crispy beef and wow lovely sauce and very crispy!! . The prawn crackers were fresh and lovely. All in all we are really happy this is local to us. I have asked my husband to book it for my birthday as that's the same day the restaurant reopens!!. I hope he remembers!!! The restaurant looks really lovely. I was told they are excellent and was upset when I heard about the fire as we wanted a good Chinese when we moved here. So pleased its reopened. They also take credit card payment which is a lot easier for us. I took photos of the menu as the other one on here was hard to see and some lines missing from the bottomn . Open for takeaway for now but soon the restaurant too! Wonderful.

I go here often lovely staff but bad night with high flyers who think they can treat the staff like mud. Still fast food, reasonable price lovely atmosphere. (And as for the review of the woman saying "what you want" that is always the sign of a good Chinese they focus on good food.)

Aswell as the cold reception we received, the lovely waitress said ( what do u want) the food looked more like child portions waitress was rude unhelpful, miserable, got the order wrong twice, drinks were missed, cuttlery wasn't availabe, and a waste of money, normally the food is okay but this was shockingly bad, not a good experience whatsoever

We’ve been several times but after a few disappointing visits a few months ago, we decided to give this place a miss for a while. We visited on Friday, the handrail leading up to the restaurant was sticky. The starters came mostly overcooked, especially the butterflied prawns. The crispy duck was again overcooked and dry. Service was a bit chaotic. We both felt a bit uncomfortable after the meal and the following day, so not sure we’ll be back. Not value for money

I have been to the Beijing Diner numerous times over many years and have never had a bad meal or slow service. The "All you can eat" menu is fantastic value and there is a huge choice of dishes including lots of vegetarian options. The staff are always friendly, polite and helpful even when the restaurant is full and the takeaway area is busy the service is still very good. It is excellent for large groups, tables can be put together fot 20 or more people and up to 12 people can be seated at each of the 2 very large round tables (both have a 'lazy Susan' in the centre. There are also several 2 seater tables for couples or those dining alone. The bar is well stocked, house wine is very good and very popular as is the Tiger beer. The atmosphere is great and the restaurant has vaulted ceilings, oak beams everywhere and lots of character and charm. I have tried many Chinese restaurants in Norfolk, including lots in Norwich and in my opinion this has the best atmosphere food and service at a very fair price. If I could give 6 stars I would !

Arrived at 7.20 to have a rare meal with my husband. We were served our drinks straight away, however not asked for our food order at all. We did not see any member of staff from this point until we gave up waiting and went to pay out £6 bill for two standard lemonades. This was at 8.10! 50 minutes after being seated. The large table of guests next to us also had awful service. We could hear lots of shouting coming from kitchen and phones ringing non stop. Take away customers being told the wait was at least 1 hour! Would have been nice for them to advise us of the same when we arrived. Never had such awful service anywhere and they didn't even apologise when we paid. Never will we "eat" here again.

We booked and turned up early. The waitress was in the kitchen screaming and shouting at some one ...which was a little disconcerting. Satay Chicken was plumped up or puffed. Not pleasant. The rest was refried and greasy. Strange from start to finish. Out last time we would visit.

Food was fantastic when we got it!was there for 3 hrs and only managed to get 1 lot of starters and 1 lot of mains and 1 round of drinks due to 2 staff and a packed and busy restaurant on a saturday nite!wanted another lot of mains or desserts but the wait for anyone to come over was ridiculous,this is the second time we have had the same experience,wont be visiting again and such a shame as the food is great but 3 hours to receive 2 courses is a joke.

I visited with the wife and son and probably the worst service ever!! Took 2 hrs just to be able to order mains and our visit was 3.5hrs. Constantly chasing orders and was obvious that there was a real pack of waitresses. Everyone in the restaurant was left waiting as we could hear others getting frustrated.

Me(Big R) and Lil W did a lot of promotional work by borrowing all of the leaflets and handing them out to random people and their cars and mailboxes so far we have seen a massive increase in customers and we would like to be paid a fair sum of money next time.

We thought we’d try this Chinese as hadn’t been successful with the other local ones. The food is delicious, you can take away or sit in. Always big dishes!

Ordered a takeaway but was so disappointed. There were four of us and we ordered a variety of dishes. All dishes were bland and the sauces were so watery. Probably the worst Chinese takeaway we have experienced, perhaps it was a bad day in the kitchen but I couldn’t recommend it.

We have been here quite a few times. The food is always awesome. The service matches the food. All you can eat for a set price. Very clean and tidy restaurant.

I’ve eaten in many times and always been happy but never had a takeaway. I can’t believe the stark contrast. The vegetables were literally rotten. Mushrooms that were way past best shrivelled and with the strong taste they have as they’ve started to rot. Rotten Water Chestnuts literally black. Black carrots clearly rotten. What’s happened? Is it under new management. Clearly something drastic has happened in the hygiene in the kitchen. The food tasted of decomposing food. Disappointed and fit for the bin...!!!

Booked Chinese for a colleagues retirement party. 22 attended. Found the service was extremely slow. We arrived a 7pm but didn’t receive starters for over an hour it was equally a long time for middle course. We had to ask to order mains and by that time people felt it was getting a bit late to eat. The food was good as always but when you have to pay nearly £20 a head regardless what you ate I felt that we did not get our monies worth. We were all quite disappointed but fortunately it didn’t spoil the evening. I think when there are large groups booked, and there was three that night a proper serve yourself buffet may gad been better.

We visited here on a Sunday evening and fancied a Chinese. We came across the Beijing Diner whilst walking down the high street. When we sat down we realised it was an all you can eat, but table service rather than a buffet. We had a selection of starter, duck and a selection of mains these were all freshly cooked and piping hot. The portion sizes were great just enough and not too much! The service was great too, we didn’t have to wait too long to order the next courses or drinks. I would recommend a visit!

Came here on Saturday night with my friends for a joint birthday get together, food was excellent and really hot, we did wait a while between courses but it was a busy Saturday night so this is to be expected.

The food here is so so good and the prices are AMAZING! It is all you can eat for a £18 so is very reasonable! We had lots of different starters, then duck and the mains. The noodles are amazing! We also then got some more spring rolls with our mains. The service I thought was very good, contrary to the other reviews, although it was a quiet night.

Haven’t been for couple of years and was disappointed with the food.. some of the courses were quite cold and tasteless...some OK but expected better quality food for the price and to be charged for second glass of water is not right, we had beer and wine so I think water should be free. Waitress was friendly and helpful and even provided our table with a heater as the restaraunt felt cold. Yes it was very cold outside but it needs more radiators. Good atmosphere just need to know the best dishes to select.

Decided to change from our usual takeaway and eat out. At nearly £20 a head for all you can eat... thought it would be good. Arrived fairly early just after 6.30pm. Wrong time! Lack of staff and the phone ringing constantly service took ages! I don’t mind a rest between courses but this was way too long. Food was ok. All the starters we tried just tasted fried and over done. Duck course was good when it finally arrived. Main course again felt over cooked. ‘Beef’ in the dish was dubious and very chewy; prawns were tasteless; chicken ....I don’t think was actual chicken and duck pieces were tough and all the dishes were padded out with salty veg. Really disappointed as it’s not cheap to eat there. Feel sorry for the staff that were there as they were running round like crazy to get people served. So busy that by the time we left the 5 tables that had been vacated hadn’t been cleared. Maybe they wanted to discourage others to sit down. My advice.... better places for your money

We have eaten here a couple of times but I think our last visit will be our last visit. The service is dreadful. We waited over an hour between some of the courses and the meal actually took us over three hours to eat. In the lobby there were people complaining that they had waited for over an hour for their take-away. One of the courses was actually quite cold and the portions were small. The drinks are far too expensive and they actually charge for a glass of water. There is an urgent need to either employ more staff or cut the number of tables so that everyone can be served but it is obvious that this is just an exercise in mazimising profits without any care of customer satisfaction.

4 of us ate here for a birthday dinner and had a lovely time.

Unlike most AYCE restaurants, the concept here is that you order dishes from the menu, they're (possibly) then cooked to order and brought to the table. This is a great idea as it means you are getting hot food that's (in theory!) not been sitting around in dishes on a servery, and inevitably lukewarm.

We always use Beijing Diner and the food is always good and staff very friendly and helpful. Best Chinese takeaway in Watton by far! Advisable to book for the restaurant as it can get very busy.

One of the main problems with central Norfolk is the lack of competition and so restaurants that are "kind of good" are the best around. That's Beijing Diner. If you don't eat out a lot, live in central Norfolk, or want a massive meal for a fixed price go as it's good. The staff are always attentive and there is no pressure. But if your looking for steamed sea bass in ginger and lemon grass, sushi or steamed dumplings, then don't. The starters were all fried. Fried ribs, fried sesame toast, they even fried the chicken satay before putting it in the peanut sauce. We skipped the duck ( more fried) and ordered some prawns. Ate a few and left. They were very concerned and reduced our bill. So I'd give them top marks for customer service, they clearly knew we were not out to try and rob them. We paid the full price and gave a tip. I'd go back again for sure, but after rugby with s bunch of mates who want to eat like horses.

food was excellent service was great considering only one person serving between 15 and 20 and did not wait long for the food which was tip top and hot and it also did takeaways would certainly go again brilliant.

Just finished our takeaway and I've got to say it was really good, piping hot and very tasty. Even the crispy chilli beef was crispy, sometimes it's a bit chewy.Portions are big.

Enjoyed my meal here, service was friendly and accommodating. Food was very nice and the environment felt good, was quite busy but our service didn't faulter.

We've been here numerous times and although the food is lovely, we won't be coming again! Our table of 7 had ordered our starters and duck with no problems except a fairly long wait which you have to accept on a Friday night. When it came to ordering our mains, we suddenly received a phone call asking me and my husband to return home due to my son falling ill so we asked if we could have a little bit of our mains packed away to take back with us, we were told we couldn't. We then asked for some money off the bill due to not having all of the buffet and this was refused. We even asked them to add up what we'd eaten and said we'd pay for that but again, we were told no. As we were in a rush to get back for our son, we paid full buffet prices only to then be offered a portion of noodles to take home each!! Yet earlier, we weren't allowed to do that. Complete rip off and lack of empathy for your customers.

We have take away from here a lot. Great food, not expensive, fast service. Sometimes when eating in the restaurant, if it's busy, service can be slow. Friendly obliging staff though, who are attentive.

The Chinese is freshly cooked, it always tastes perfect as we go there often! Can't recommend it enough, service is quick and efficient.

Have been using this now for a long time, dining at different times as a couple, party of four, party of six and party of eight and they have never dissapointed. The ordering buffet sysytem works very well as food is always freshly prepared. This can, at busy times, seem to be a tad slow but any wait is worth it. Front of house hard working friendly and efficient. It is also possible to have a standard menu which has a different offering and worth investigating.

We had take away today and it was ok. Quite garlicky though right through everything we ordered. On the plus side there was plenty of it. The portions were huge and very hot. It is a tad more expensive than the other Chinese take outs in Watton though.

A great place for 'served at your table' eat as much as you like. Staff are helpful and attentive although they don't speak much English. Starters are really good and come on a big, sharing platter. Duck or alternatives are available for middle course. Main dishes are ok, but we usually go for prawns, the fillet steak dishes and noodles as the main meat doesn't have much taste. The menu hasn't changed in at least a decade, but the price has continued to rise. It now costs more to eat here than the big buffet restaurants in the city, where there is bigger choices etc. Water is charged at 50p if that is your only drink.

Great for all occasions.Best Chinese ever!! We go about 5 times a year for various birthdays. The staff are lovely with us they put banners up for us and bring birthday ice cream to 'Happy Birthday' song. This all you can eat buffet is done differently to most buffets. You order the food and its freshly made. My family always have four rounds of four dishes for the starters, soup, middle course and mains. They bring out the meal and give you time to have a break and chat whilst the dishes are cooked. Its a sociable evening and the family enjoy it. High recommendations! Thank you.

We ordered our takeaway, the first we've had for a while, phoned the order in and spoke to a very polite lady. Picked up 15 mins later all the food was piping hot and very tasty, not at all greasy. We spent £20 for 2 of us and there was plenty to eat. Very good value.We be going back.

I visit here regularly with friends and always thoroughly enjoy the meal. It is a 'buffet' type restaurant where you order dishes from the menu but you can have as much as you like, so it has more of a restaurant feel. Very good. Great service. Friendly staff.

This is the better version of "All you can eat" type Restaurants in that you select several dishes from the large menu selection and they are cooked fresh for you. You can then select other dishes or repeat your selection until you are satisfied or explode. This type beats the stewing dishes of warmed up food every time. The starters are particularly excellent and the salty spicy squid it definitely the best. The mains are not too bad. Nothing amazing but nothing bad and once you've visited I'm sure you'll return regularly. The staff are friendly and helpful and always available when you wish to order. They never harass you for more drinks like many similar establishments seem to. The only comment I would make is that they need to change or add dishes every now and then as the menu has stayed the same for years. That said I would always recommend the place to anyone visiting Watton.

Not bad not good but if you want a typical English version Chinese then this is fine. However it is quite expensive at nearly 18.00 each for the food type. Drinks very expensive 4 lime and sodas were 12.80! Prob wouldn't go again and rather spend the money on a better quality one in Norwich.

We have been here a few times, all you can eat for a set price with very good quality food and excellent service. If family or friends visit us we will treat them to meal here, lovely food, and décor and I think family run. I would definitely recommend The Beijing Diner for any occasion. It must be noted that there is a flight of stairs up to the restaurant from street level.

I love Chinese buffets, so I was a little apprehensive when I wasted invite with work to come to a chinese that you had to wait for the food to be cooked, even if it was all-you-can-eat.However, I now return to this restaurant as much as I can. The food is brilliant, freshly cooked and ever so tasty. Our favourite dish is the fried squid, I have tried other similar places in London that cook the food freshly and never has the squid been as good as the Bejing Dinner.Occasionally the food can be better than other visits, but its always at a good standard. For the most part the service is good, there have been a few times where I have had to ask for the bill twice, and now I just go up to reception when I am ready to pay to avoid this. All the staff are nice though.Honestly, give this place a go, you will not regret.

random visit to Watton led us to try the Beijing diner this evening we opted for the all you can eat buffet we only managed to get past the crispy duck lol the portion sizes are good even when asking for a small portion. .... you still get a large one :)food was served hot ... looked good and tasted lovely so no complaints. ... and will definitely be returning to try the main courses lol

My wife and I visited The Beijing Diner yesterday evening to have a "reward" treat for our recent weight loss on our diet! Perhaps not the most sensible decision we have ever made, but so glad we did!The restaurant is entered by an entrance in between two sections of an amusement arcade in the High Street, but as you climb the stairs to the restaurant on the first floor of this old building with its exposed timber beams the whole ambience becomes lovely. The food is served on an all you can eat banquet basis for £15.95 per person and the lovely house white we had was a crisp, dry Bordeaux for £13.The food was plentiful, beautifully cooked and piping hot. You pick what you want from an extensive menu beginning with appetisers, going on to the pancakes and crispy duck (and/or crispy lamb) before choosing your main courses.Ths was all served by a lovely smiling waitress and attentive waiter both of whom were excellent without being pushy or in your face.Thanks for a lovely eveningSteve and Claire Carney, Watton

Super food lovely service. Very good value although the restaurant was a little bit cold as they had just opened.

Having visited Hong Kong on various occasions we are fussy when it comes to English Chinese. Our experience at the Beijing was a very good one. Crispy duck pancakes were very good with plenty of duck and plum sauce. I had the Sea Salt Pork which was a new dish to me and I wasn't disappointed. The waitress, who was attentive without being overpowering, advised that this was a spicy dish and although hot the flavours still came through.

I ate here a few years ago the food and service was absolutely amazing then, sadly this is no longer the case.I ate there last night (a reasonably busy Friday night) in a party of around 20 people, the food was ok, but not as good as I had there previously, the service was quite poor, I don't think the waiter said a single word. The waitress was better but made you feel like an inconvenience.We had a good night, but that was more about the company than the food.

The restaurant is entered via a steep staircase so it is not suitable for all. nice lay out and cozy , service was very poor not a place to eat unless you have 3 hours to spare , starters not all came that was ordered had to request again and waited 30 more mins before it all arrived to table , ordered main and waited a hour before it was brought to table we had now been here 2 hours plus , again not all food was brought to table and had to chase again had a 30 min wait , they deff can not cope with lots of people and should stop seating people once they have more then 10 people to eat to cope with the orders and should not offer takeaway when restaurant is full as they can not cope with the orders of both sides , but food was hot and delicious once arrived

All you can eat buffet freshly prepared to order, food always piping hot and delicious. Staff courteous and pleasant. Never had a bad meal here. Recommend Smoked Chicken and the Lemon Chicken.

5 of my family came here to celebrate a birthday and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Plenty of choice, freshly made food lovely. Will definitely be going back

We went to this restaurant for a family birthday. Firstly it was hard to find, but we got some directions from some locals and realised that it was on the first floor. We were welcomed by a very nice waitress who sat us down and gave us our menus. We went for the "Eat as much as you like" menu, but found the menu quite confusing as to what and how much we should order, so maybe the staff could spend a bit more time explaining the system of ordering. I must say the starters were lovely and probably the best part of the meal. We then had the duck course and finally our mains. This is where I think we went wrong as the other courses were catered for the amount of people in your party (5 of us). So we thought that the mains would be in the same quantity but they were single portions. However saying this, we could have ordered more food if we had wanted but to be honest we were feeling quite full by now anyway. This is a good restaurant if you want to eat lots but not so bothered by flavour however it may just of been that we ordered the wrong things. I would go back again and eat there and be a little less confused next time. The staff were very friendly and attentive so that is one reason I would return, I would order different main meals though and hopefully would enjoy it a bit more.

My daughter had been promoted and wanted to try this establishment. Good choice. It was welcoming, pleasant surroundings and the food was superb,hot and abundant. I would recommend it to anyone that likes Chinese food at a reasonable price. We ate from the all you eat menu so there was no lack of the wonderful food. Staff did not hover but we're on the ball. The facilities were also very good and clean.

The restaurant is entered via a steep staircase so it is not accessable for all. Food is very good but on this occasion and the last we were in a large party of 15 and 18 respectively. They split the orders into groups but deliver your order to the other end of the table which isn't too much of an issue if you are ordering similar things but still you would expect them to get it right. The starters are fantastic although we feel the main courses are a bit of a let down.
