Bar staff are always interested to help me select a beverage to suit my tastes. I've bought a few decent poetry books at a very reasonable price. A good spot to sit and write, play a bit of chess, pinball, cards or recover from the storm by the fire with a nice pasty or pizza from a nearby place.

Very cool concept for a pub and a very relaxed feel inside. Found it to be a tad difficult to move around the tables however not detrimental as the environment was friendly. Having a record playing at all times was a nice touch. Would recommend any of the ciders on tap 👍

This place is amazing! A very cosy bar - with lots of little nooks to sit and enjoy a drink - and a bookshop too! And retro game machines! I was shocked at how cheap everything was, with the books being around £5 each (new books too!) and the lagers we got also came to about £5 each. We ended up getting 2 pints & 3 books for around £25 which is just crazy. New hardback books go for around £20 these days! A brilliant local spot, definitely not to be missed.

I’ve been to Beerwolf since it opened and it was always a firm favourite when visiting my mum in Falmouth. Yesterday evening we went in for a quick drink as it was my brothers birthday. Never in my life have I experienced such rude and hostile service. A blonde haired lady, with glasses served me and I walked away from my interaction with her questioning whether I had done something to offend her. It was a really, really uncomfortable experience and sadly it has put me off returning.

Amazing pub! We went here as a novelty to see the bookshop and pub and it was far beyond our expectations. There were 6 real ale hand pumps, all with local (independent) beers on, ( we tried them all and they were all in great condition). There was also at least 12 gas lines with craft beer and cider on, mostly independent. The lady who served us was very lovely, explained the beers and even checked on us later on to see what our favourites were, she was a delight as a hostess. Our friends loved the book shop, £4-6 a book!

Such a gem of a bar / bookshop! For a secondhand bookshop their stock is all in very good nick and lots of recent releases, beautifully laid out. Particularly enjoyed their range of children’s picture books, some gorgeous titles in there. After looking through our favourite genres, my partner and I enjoyed a crisp apple cider in a cosy corner. Lots of squishy armchairs and green velvet seats, perfect atmosphere.

Not what I expected, not much of a book selection...if you just want a drink and just a quick read about that you don't really care about them this is for you. I couldn't find anything interesting myself, so I just ended up having one drink and leaving. Might be better for someone else, I can see the potential but in my view they could have made the place so much better.

I was really excited to show my mum this place, however, the bar tender (with short blonde bob) was incredibly rude. I was ordering some drinks and there was a newspaper with games displayed at the bar and a guy said why don’t you try solve one. The lady (bartender) decided to shout at me saying it was her and should buy my own, I profusely apologised saying I didn’t realise. She continued telling me off and decided to mock me to the other customers for the following 5/10 minutes. I finished my drinks quickly left as I felt humiliated. So I would not recommend.

I was in a great mood before walking in. Sat down for two minutes max, and a woman came over to me and said “are you gonna get a drink love” I said yes. Went up to the bar, ordered a tea and I said “sorry id only been sat down two minutes”. The lady said “no I’ve been stood here for 15 watching you”. I have receipts to show I was in a supermarket 10 mins ago ! To customers… do not find a table before ordering, it’s not quick enough for staff, you need to go straight to bar as soon as you walk in!! Clearly not making much money so they need to interrogate customers.

My first visit to Falmouth and I already had several recommendations from friends to visit Beerwolf Books. It's a concept I was not familiar with. A book shop with a bar? A bar, which is also a book shop? Either way, I'm not interested in the books much but the location tucked away behind the high street added an air of mystery. The stunning 400 year old building meets you in a gorgeous courtyard and opens up to reveal an impressive staircase up to the main floor. I was immediately impressed with the vast variety of beer on offer. Lots of cask and keg beers. The cosy interior was very welcoming on my second visit but the weather was fair on my first visit so we sat outside. I think it was my favourite destination in Falmouth when I visited.

My husband and I had dinner here for the first time on 1st April and it was absolutely wonderful. Love the small-plate menu format which allowed us to try different things. We ordered 6 dishes to share and loved them all. They were fresh and full of flavour. Even the carrots were prepared in an inspired way. If you are reading this, then you likely already know that Verdant brews its own beer. The ones were tried were delicious and memorable. Last, but definitely not least, I have to compliment the two waitresses who attended our table. They were welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, and nothing was too much trouble. Best service we've experienced in a long time. This may have been our first visit, but it will not be our last. Can't wait to return!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Queen’s Head in St Stephen, Cornwall, and I can’t say enough about how wonderful the experience was. The roast dinner was an absolute standout—perfectly cooked meat, tender and flavorful, paired with golden, crispy roast potatoes that were some of the best I’ve ever had. The homemade Yorkshire puddings were a delight, light and fluffy, and the generous helping of rich gravy tied it all together beautifully. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into the food here, making it a proper Sunday treat. The atmosphere in the pub is just as impressive. It’s a charming, cozy spot with a warm, welcoming vibe—think crackling woodburners, friendly chatter from locals, and that quintessential Cornish village charm. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home, whether you’re a regular or just passing through. The beer garden and play area out back are lovely touches too, perfect for a sunny day. The staff truly elevate the whole experience. They’re incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely seem to enjoy what they do. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and made to feel like valued guests. Service was spot-on—quick without feeling rushed—and they were happy to chat and offer recommendations. All in all, The Queen’s Head is a gem. The roast dinner alone is worth the visit, but the fantastic atmosphere and lovely staff make it a place I’ll be eager to return to. Highly recommend!
