Very slow service, I ordered a salmon fillet and fat chips, the chips were greasy and it came with an awful rocket plain salad. There were a lot of complaints from customers last night about how slow the service was, and several steak dishes were being sent back to the kitchen due to being undercooked. Extremely unprofessional and very rude for one female staff member to start clearing up the dishes from our table, whilst my son was still eating his burger, and taking his plate away too. Common courtesy would be to wait until people on that table have all finished before clearing the dishes.

Arrived for the weekend to stay over, on a Saturday evening. The bar area was shut by 9pm, when the opening times stated it was open til 10pm. Many residents were waiting in the bar area, they informed us that the bar closed at 8.30pm

I stopped in for lunch while visiting my office. It was reliably easy to get a table as it doesn’t get very busy in here from what I’ve seen. Mostly others here on business or locals. The waitress was lovely and friendly and attentive, and the food was good, the standard you would expect. Decent options on the menu.

It was 35 minutes to end of breakfast time but all the host could say is we wont cook anything else, aside for eggs. We had a large family visiting from all over the world and celebrating a new bride and groom. How can the cook be so lazy and incompetent to stop cooking when guests request seating? Very very poor management that left a terrible impression on everyone from USA, Germany, London, Manchester and Glasgow.

Visited today for birthday lunch it was really special. From the warm welcome from Sarah Cg (& happy Sarah too) the food which was delicious, service good. It was great and will definitely be back. Best steak I've had in a long time. All finished off with yummy sundae. Happy birthday me!!

We walked in and it was dead...only maybe 3 tables with customers. We was sat down and asked to look at menu's. It took ages to be served after....about 15mins ....then after they took our order was another 20-30 mins till we got our food. The food was ok...I had a free refill drink and took forever to get my second refill ...about 3 members of staff was having some kind of training it looked like ...it was just tedious as we thought because it was dead our food and service would be much faster. After we finished nobody came to us and asked if we was done or wanted the bill so we waited at the bar for another 15mins as there was only 1 girl serving there and the customer at the bar was being slow ordering and ordered every cocktail going and the girl had to read up how to make every one 🙄 and our waitress had disappeared by this time.

Average food and bad service. It was going fairly well until my main arrived and I asked for mayonnaise and another pint of Stella. After 10 minutes it was clear the waitress forgot as none of those came. Not a big deal I thought I won’t bother say anything. After 20 minutes I asked for the bill and then the waitress at the bar finally brought me the Stella (no mayo mind!). At this point I made a point of saying that I ordered it twenty minutes ago. Classic response “we’ve been very busy at the bar I am afraid” instead of a simple “sorry we forgot” that would have been so much more appropriate and forgivable. I will spend the rest of my stay at Burger King where I’ll probably find better service.

Would avoid, there are many other better options near by. Had dinner with my wife and two young daughters here when staying the night in the Premier Inn next door. The service was very poor and extremely slow. It took two and a half hours to serve us three courses, with a lot of waiting in between each course. The worst of it was that my daughters have a dairy allergy and we made this known to the staff when we entered. They gave us a folder with allergy information, but then it went downhill from there. We ordered both the girls sausages and chips as they were dairy free, but when they arrived one was normal sausages and one was vegetarian sausages and both had sides that were wrong. When we asked them to resolve it they tried taking both meals away and we had to ask that they leave the bits that were right because we had two hungry kids that had been waiting a long time for their food. We also asked them to double check that what they were served was dairy free, which seemed to confuse them and they said of course because what we ordered was dairy free, even though they didn’t serve what we ordered. Then to top it off we ordered dessert as it was included in our set meals (we were ready to go at this point) and they forgot to put the order into the kitchen. So we needed up waiting a really long time for desserts that we didn’t even really want. But the main issue was the staff were totally unconcerned that they had served the wrong food to kids with an allergy and seemed annoyed that they had to resolve it.

Probably the worst meal I’ve ever eaten. Left waiting for 20 minutes near the door without being even acknowledged for a booked table. Breaded mushrooms, which were pretty much just cold, wet and almost inedible. I ordered a fillet steak, the meat was terrible and so overcooked I don’t even know how it’s possible to make such a bad job to the stage that even I won’t eat it! The chips were at least warm and not bad.

If you want a well done steak, don't bother. It comes rare. Sent it back. Still not happy on return and it went back again. This is meant to be a steak house ffs. Never again. Advise anyone to try Wetherspoon, but here. Lack of staff in these venues is appalling. Not their fault, but the staff cuts made by Whitbred since covid.

Where to start… the beginning is probably best. Family of 5, we walked in, got seated immediately and thought “this is great”. Within a couple of minutes, our drinks order had been taken and we settled in for what we thought would be a lovely evening meal. Oh, how wrong we were. 10 minutes later, our drinks hadn’t arrived but our food order was taken. We asked about the drinks and we were told the order would be checked on. 25 minutes later, our starters arrived, but no sign of the drinks… what was happening? Was there a drought just off junction 11 of the M4? Eventually, another 10 minutes later, our drinks turned up (2 bottles 0% beers, an apple juice, an orange juice and a water, hardly a round of lavish cocktails). The starters were good, no complaints with the food, but it was another 30 minutes before the mains arrived. Again, the food was good (except for the children’s Mac n Cheese, which for some unknown reason, had vegetables in it rather than having veggies on the side. Try explaining that to a 9 year old!), and after we finished, we asked for the menu to choose dessert. Another 10 minutes passed before we were able to order dessert, which then took 35 minutes to arrive. By this time, we wanted to scrape our eyeballs out of the sockets with a fork. However, I must say, dessert was also good. Eventually, we got round to the bill (which came 10 minutes after asking for it), and then it took another 20 minutes to sort out the total. We had a 25% off voucher. We asked the staff what was included in the offer, and they said the entire bill. This was music to my ears, happy days. Alas, this was not true (or maybe it was, who knows?). Anyway, the bill came and for a total of £91, they had discounted £8.57. I’m no maths whizz, but even I know that’s not enough. 25% of £91 is £22.75. So why was the bill still coming to more than £82? I asked the staff again. They didn’t know, so they double checked, or rather, they said they double checked, but had actually just put the bill in the system again. They came back again saying yes, it’s all correct, you have 25% off the entire bill, which the system has said is £8.57. So the Beefeater system was at fault here, but as computers rule the world, that was the final total. God forbid someone used their brain and a calculator to check if it was actually correct or not! Anyway, I checked again and asked the staff (basically trying to help them come to some sort of legitimate answer) whether drinks were included in the offer. When I asked this, they said drinks probably weren’t included, which I was fine with. But that still meant the total bill for food was £70, which means 25% off should mean £17.50, not £8.57. Again, this lead to another lengthy discussion at which point I felt I should be charging Beefeater an arithmetic consultancy fee. Finally, they said that the evening set menu wasn’t included in the deal (even though on the voucher it said it was, lols), at which point I lost the will to live, paid the bill, went home and watched re-runs of Only Fools and Horses to bring me back to sanity. All in all, a meal that should have been done and dusted in 90 minutes took almost double that. Good job they give you 4 hours of free parking, I now know why! But take away the ordeal, it’s great value for money. Short summary: food is good and reasonably priced, however the experience will leave you questioning your own mortality. Enter at your own risk.

Breakfast to be avoided at all costs. Absolutely terrible experience. Disorganized, understaffed, a pile of filthy dirty plates (we and 2 other people were convinced that the plates were where staff had put the dirty plates they had cleared from tables). We then looked elsewhere for the plates we were supposed to eat from to finally get really rudely told that those were the clean plates. We all waited 10 minutes for a new stack of plates to be brought, which were actually only 50% of them dirty and 50% clean. Nothing being replenished on the breakfast buffet. I think that there's croissants and pancakes, but they were empty for almost an hour. I think there may be yogurt sometimes for fruit, but that was empty. Honestly surprisingly bad. The night before we ate a latte dinner, and that was fine. Nothing great and nothing terrible. Very friendly lady working behind the bar. Breakfast soured the whole experience though. Never again

After an hour and a half someone came and asked if we were waiting for the bill, we said we were waiting for our main course, she went to check and said that it would be with us in 10 mins, but we decided not to bother and left to go somewhere else.

The service was abysmal, with waitstaff appearing disinterested and inattentive. It took an eternity to even get acknowledged, let alone receive a menu or have our drink orders taken. When the food finally arrived, it was nothing short of disappointing. The dishes lacked flavor and were served lukewarm at best, indicating a severe lack of attention to detail in the kitchen. To add insult to injury, the quality of food and service provided was the worst ive ever seen. It felt like a complete rip-off, leaving me with a bitter taste in my mouth both figuratively and literally. Overall, my experience at the Beefeater Pub was a regrettable one. I would strongly advise against wasting your time and money at this establishment. There are plenty of other dining options out there that offer better value and a more enjoyable experience.

They were really short staffed so I felt sorry for them but it was really poor. Long wait times for everything, food, service and bill. Cleared our own table after the starter. Weren't checked on throughout. Cold chips, cold starters, badly cooked steak and nuked chicken and ribs you couldn't get a steak knife through. Probably the worst meal out I've ever had. They took 100 quid off the bill but to be honest, we shouldnt have paid for any of it. If we'd have argued any further we'd have been waiting another hour for the bill to be corrected. Felt really sorry for them, but it was a disaster.

So it started off ok I was greeted warmly and shown to my table, my drink was duly ordered and was brought to me. So as it is the festive season I decided to go for the Festive set menu as it seemed really good value. I ordered the Pate to start to be followed by the Roast Turkey dinner. I was looking forward to this as I had been driving from up north for over 6 hours. My pate came out, and initially I was a tad under impressed as you can see from the photo it all looked a bit sad on the plate and I certainly wasn't not feeling festive when this was plonked down in front of me !!! However it redeemed itself slightly as the Patè was tasty as was the onion marmalade in the little ramekin. So next my eagerly awaited main course arrived and it looked nice and this dish looked far more appealing to the eye ! So I tucked in and yes it was very tasty and I was enjoying it until.......... I discovered a little round Sticky Label with the word THURS on it, buried under my Roast Parsnips. I was a tad shocked to say the least. Now I do not believe in making a scene or shouting and screaming at anyone, but I was not very happy so I caught the attention of a young lady who turned out to be the duty manager and for a minute or two she was clearly shell shocked and had no words of comfort to offer me. My plate was quickly whisked away and she came back full of remorse and apologies. Her immediate response was would you like anything else ? My reply was a firm would you ??? So after a small discussion I left with a feeling that this had not been dealt with adequately, I was due to eat breakfast in the same restaurant in the morning as I was staying the night in the adjacent Premier Inn and she did say that my breakfast would be refunded, however I have to wait 5 to 7 days to see if this actually happens !! All in all a shocking experience to say the least.

Rude Staff After spending quite a lot of money on drinks before a football match, we came back after the match and didn't have a good experience. All 4 of us were asked for ID by the same woman who served us before the match. My brother (24) had no ID present so she refused to serve us even though she had served and seen him drinking alcohol. I was also warned after having 3 drinks that I had been drinking too much. We were all stood in the corner talking causing no trouble and we weren't being loud or rowdy at all. The staff were then seen warning other staff members about us and talking about us from across the restaurant. Won't be coming again as we didn't feel welcome from the moment we arrived.

Outstanding food and service. As always thought the years even going as a child. I took my mom here and it still has great tasting food and top dollar service. Left a tip for them to. Went here with family members recently & was somewhat disappointed. The food was nicely cooked & tasty but the service was unbearably slow. It was a Sunday evening & they had 2 waiting staff & 1 person behind the bar & either that wasn't enough or they were very inefficient. Came after work for a drink. Gentleman with dreadlocks served me (took about 15 minutes to be served and I was the only one, but I acknowledge there was a lot of table orders) Staff member kept complaining that staff didn't up - this didn't feel professional at all, almost brand destructive. Gentleman then tried to serve me a single shot in double whiskey and coke - when called out. He stated it was a double. Either he'd magic and can fit 50ml into a 25ml jigger or he lied. He topped up the drink, and said he's tired and made a mistake. If I forgot to pay though, I assume that would be a massive issue. Conclusion: hire better staff, look into agency staff who have track record and are vetted. As your current staff are struggling with what's a single and what's a double. Don't bother asking for a receipt- it's not itemised at all

Breakfast, met by a very abrupt women. All staff were very rude and not cut out to be in the hospitality industry. The staff moved around the restaurant getting in everyone’s way. The badly designed restaurant, was very messy and stressful. The coffee machine wasn’t working so we had to ask the front of house to make a coffee, who was far from happy. No milk by the tea making, no cutlery on the table, rude staff.

POSSIBLY THE WORST PLACE TO EAT IN THE UK I know this title sounds like an exaggeration, maybe I'm just being harsh, maybe a tad picky, I promise you you'll regret eating here. I have been waiting a long time to write this review, I have eaten here occasionally due to work over the past two years or so and am utterly disgusted. Where do I start, the food maybe, well get onto service in a bit. For starters beefeater food is easy to cook, let's be honest most of it comes frozen, gets chucked in the oven and bobs your uncle. Except at this particular establishment I'd give it a good 20% of the time it comes back out the oven and onto your place crispy on the outside and frozen still on the middle. In particular I have found this applies to lasagne, and pies the most, although occasionally other things. So after the first 6 or 7 visits, again I am not returning by choice but because of work reasons, I decided to try a steak instead. Don't do this! The steak came raw, now I like a medium rare steak even maybe a rare or blue steak but im talking raw, it was brown on the outside barely but the middle of this steak was still as cold as it had been in the fridge. Oh and thr peppercorn sauce had split and gone off and had things going on inside it that I wouldn't serve to my dog. I don't think anymore needs to be said on that... I have tried the entire menu and if its not raw or frozen, its served entirely differently to the way beafeater obviously intended, making it bland and dry, or just completely not what I ordered in the first place. Right on to the so called service, or more like lack of. Firstly Paige, who unbelievably seems to be a manager of some kind. As she's the first thing I remember the first time I walked in. She's rude, arrogant and completely lacks all table side manner. If you summon her over to ask for another drink or the bill etc. You're normally confronted with a 'what', that's if you're not just ignored altogether. Anyway.. I'll finish up Wait times you can expect anywhere between 5 minutes and 2.5 hours depending on the day, staff are rude, expect to wait 15-20 minutes for staff to acknowledge your existence whilst standing waiting to be seated, flat pints, and food before your drinks arrive If I could have given less stars I would have, and it's not even cheap.

Really good meal. Variety of steaks, chicken and fish had by the party all cooked as requested. Service could have been a little quicker but also left us time to chat. Atmosphere I marked as a 4 because the aircon kicked in really cold at one point but a request to staff to turn it off soon remedied that to the pleasure of more than just our table (thumbs up from others).

It would be good if there's more space and seats. Tight but good enough. It's just a bit rubbish when people walk around sneeze or coughing, and the place is very tiny. Clean, but the toilet as usual it's public toilet, so don't expect it to be sparkly clean. One time, they served us cold burger. Some staff are helpful. Need to expand it a bit more. With drive thru, they didn't check the food if its all in there. A few times, there are missing orders. So we have to go back. Some staff need to smile and cheer up a little.

Worst service ever. Waited to be greeted and seated by Marta the manager for more than five mins. She had given us two menus and there were three of us eating. She Asked if we had any allergies, twice (clearly not on the ball). She took us to our table and did not even ask if we wanted drinks. I don’t know what she’s doing as a manager. She contributed absolutely nothing, other than a terrible service. Not even a smile from her. She clearly hasn’t trained one of the new waitresses that started there that day either as she didn’t know the first bit of hospitality and waitressing. I think that so called manager needs a job sitting in a back office for a non demanding role because I’ve seen more energy and enthusiasm in a 95yo human at the end of their life. I won’t be returning to that restaurant for a long time in the hope that a decent manager will take over a run a restaurant like it should be ran.

Not a huge amount of gluten-free options, especially for dessert. They do have GF burger buns but they had run out by the time I had ordered. I know this particular branch can't do much about the dessert options but maybe Beefeater could look at having something that isn't just plain ice-cream or a fruit salad? Does blue light discount, which is great!

Not impressed. Unpredictable opening hours ... close the kitchen and/or the bar without notice. Mon / Tues ... depends if the chef turns up. Sun ... May close the restaurant 7.30pm. Last orders at the bar 9pm. Lovely staff ... but to be guaranteed a meal or a drink, head elsewhere. Gets worse ... I came in after work (12 hour shift) ... specifically asked when they were closing the kitchen ... answer: "11pm" "Are you sure, that seems late?" "Yes, definitely 11pm." "Ok" Came down from my room at 8.45pm ... "Kitchen is closed! Closed at 8.30pm" Now it's also last orders at the bar ... 9.37pm. Need I say more!? Grrrrrrrrr! By far the worst Beefeater expertise I've had in the country (& I spend 6-8 months of the year in the adjoining Premier inns ... which I have little fault with)

Second time I have been here and I have had excellent service on both occasions. With an all you can eat buffet for only £10 per head, I can leave knowing that i'll have a full wallet and belly. Regardless of the pricing and the delicious food, the service delivered by Paige and Sophie are commendable. Their personable nature and high standards left a lasting impression which has definitely prompted me to make my visits a weekly occurance. Thank you both for making our visit that bit better, and hope to see you again shortly.

Had a lovely night stay at the premier inn, where I paid for extra to include breakfast. Came down this morning with my two children excited for breakfast. Told the staff my son has a milk protein allergy and he has a restricted diet due to his autism and sensory processing disorder, and asked if they could accommodate him and make him some pancakes with a milk alternative as they had pancakes on the menu to be told no they are bought in. We then asked the chef if he could make him some French toast with a milk alternative we was also declined. The lady at the front of the restaraunt told us that the kids eat free anyway and told us to just give him a poached egg which he doesn’t eat and would cause serious meltdown and spoil his whole day. So I’ve had to leave without any breakfast at all, as it would be unfair to eat whilst my son sits there without. I feel that in this day and age it’s absolutely appalling to treat someone in that way. Disgusted if I’m honest

Been a few times for breakfast on a Friday which has generally been ok, decided to go Monday just gone, wish I hadn't. Had to go looking for someone to pay before I went to get my food. Got to servery had to wait again for cook to appear as there was next to nothing available. Eggs looked like they'd been under hot light for some time, cooked offered to do some more which when arrived were snotty, I left them, wife asked for scrambled, she didn't bother as again undercooked when 'ready'. Toast was good, but you do that yourself. Food and service very poor.

Booked a table for dinner, I got around a drinks which cost me £20, only then to be told that they weren't serving food when I went up to order food. Because they had two groups of people that ordered before. One of the groups had 18 and the other had 6. And also by this time it was 6:00pm and we had children with us that were very hungry. The manager David, blamed his staff which is very poor management, wasn't sorry and also didn't honour the food even though I brought drinks and set up a tab already. Poor management!
