Beefeater in Fareham

Very disappointed, had booked a meal out with our son and his girlfriend which we were all looking forward to. On arrival we waited about 5 minutes before anyone came to book us in. The couple in front of us were given a table for 6 by the door. our table wasn't ready but wouldn't be long. The couple then got up to leave as they had been told the waiting time for food is an hour, on hearing this we also decided to leave. The staff did apologise saying that there were only 2 waiting staff and 2 kitchen staff on and they had a big party in. Surely you would know what bookings you have and get the staffing situation sorted. When we last came here we were in a fairly large party and the food wasn't of a good standard. We thought we would give it another go but sadly I'm not sure we would come back.

Dine in | Lunch | £10–20 Came here for Lunch Today. and I had Steak, Eggs and Chip which I enjoyed, the service was good with friendly staff and the Atmosphere was nice.

We have eaten here many times but for the last couple of years it is definitely in decline. The seating in many area's (mainly the banquettes) is cracked and tatty. The prawn cocktail used to have ciabatta but has now regressed to - possibly - Tesco's 50/50 value bread! The sticky toffee pudding WAS a firm favourite, being beautifully light, but now they seem to have changed supplier and it's more like a bread pudding!! (Weird and not enjoyable at all!) My sirloin steak was very sinewy and those chips are supposed to be triple cooked. REALLY??? Can't fault the waitress - she was very good at her job and we had a laugh with her. Overall though, the food has gone down hill and the place looks really 'tired'. Glad we have found another venue that knocks spots off this place.

On arrival greeted with a friendly member of staff and shown to our booked table-checked for any allergies and took our drinks order whilst we looked at the menu to get our choices for our meal-Leasa M was a fantastic and friendly polite server thank you! Had my daughters birthday meal here with all the family. We ordered our drinks from the bar which was quick and simple... Food arrived hot and tasty. Thanks to the chefs in the kitchen, thanks to declin for setting the table how I wanted. Also thanks to kelly and wayne. Even though wayne did burn him self on the candle for the cake... overall a great experience and I would recommend this place. The staff work so hard

Sept 24 - Good food, reasonably priced, and good atmosphere but most of all, great service from Caroline and Suzie. We felt like royalty! Well done Ladies. Well done Team Oast. Aug 24 - The restaurant was heaving Fri night and there they were really short staffed as 3 staff had phoned in sick. Despite this, the Manager Declan, Table Sitter (sorry didn’t catch her name) and our Waitress Clare were fantastic – efficient, helpful and endlessly smiley despite being run off their feet. The food was flavoursome and good value as always. Well done Team Oast – we’ll be back!

Usual go to for Family get together, always happy and pleased with the food which is always consistently great when we visit, which is usually once a month, especially the Mixed Grill and the Gluten Free options (as a family member is Coeliac). Staff always friendly and welcoming. On this Visit We had Suzie as our Waitress who was polite, friendly, professional and reassuring to know when it came to the Gluten Free food order as well. Top marks to Suzie and the team at Oast & Squire.

Amazing fillet steak , cooked perfectly rare. Very friendly and efficient service, especially as it was busy (40% off mains vouchers made it extra busy I’m sure) Too full for dessert which was a shame because I really wanted to try the crunchie cheesecake - next time

Lovely staff from the first greeting at the door until we left. Our server Suzie was really polite and friendly. The food was excellent, cooked perfectly, hot and very tasty. Everywhere was clean and tidy. Will definitely be returning again.

Arrived on time for pre-booked table @ 18-15 greeted as always with a warm friendly welcome and shown to our table, drinks were ordered while we reviewed the menu which was great. Our server Caroline was very attentive and professional, the food we ordered was really tasty, the Fillet steak was awesome! All at a fair price-Thank you Beefeater & Caroline.
