I went for Sunday lunch with friends. The food was delicious as was my vegetarian option lovely freshly cooked vegetables and my friends said the meat was the same. The service was good too I asked for my plate to be carried to my table was willingly done with a smile

A good all round roast, meat portions slightly on the low side for the price. £20 per head! Not cheap. Good choice of vegetables.

Beckett’s is an ideal place to meet friends. The restaurant is welcoming and cosy and the food choices are good. My friend and I had a small breakfast which came with toast. The bacon and sausage are delicious and you can choose how you want your egg. The service is friendly and they don’t rush you.

Such a shame. Regularly meet friends here as easy for us all to get to. They seem to have started cutting corners with the food. I had a midi rise and shine with a poached egg. The food wasn’t hot enough, sausage tiny and bacon hard. Such a shame as it used to be brilliant her and the prices have gone up. Staff are still lovely and friendly and on the plus side you get limitless tea. I think you need to revisit what you are offering your customers Simon as way below the standard it used to be.

Sat outside because we had our dog with us. Ordered a bacon sandwich, flat white, carrot cake and a frappe. We got a cold bacon sandwich in tin foil no plate or sauce, cold coffee, nice cake and a lemonade! When we said we ordered a frappe barrista said they didn't do them so bought a lemonade out. £14.75 ! Rip off, won't be returning.

Awful last visit but gave benefit of doubt . Even worse today . Obviously forgot to bring out sandwiches- when asked brought out and stone cold . They serve toast without butter - not even on side . You have to then ask for it . Overall not cheap . So weird not having butter - happened before - who wants to eat dry toast !!!!!

We went here for a family day out on the 20th August as a birthday treat. A video on the farm website described in detail about how the food used in the restaurant was fresh and locally sourced. The food was extremely pricey but we all thought this would be reflected in the food. The roast with all the trimmings arrived with reheated and dried out mash and Yorkshire pudding. Half of the plate was taken up by diced frozen suede and parsnips. When asked where the carrots were, we were told there wasn't any (even though we saw carrots in the farm shop). The beef most certainly wasn't carved or fresh either. A generic pub carvery would have been better quality. The all day breakfasts were tiny and the bacon was very tough. The staff that served us were lovely and we really can't fault them. The chef cooks what he is told to by management so isn't at fault either. Unfortunately owners/management are cutting corners to try and make money. Ultimately the bad reviews will eventually start affecting the business which is quite sad. My advice, take a picnic and sit around the benches at the back in the sunflower fields.

We had a lovely lunch at this delightful farm restaurant. I had a broken omlette, which was served in the skillet pan, with a salad. The salad was fresh and consisted of green leaves, cucumber and tomato with a tasty dressing. The omlette was excellent- well but not over cooked. My husband had fish and chips which he said was the best he'd ever had. It was served with mushy peas and taratare sauce. very frinedly and helpful staff team made the visit a delight.

Had afternoon with friends. Good service, plenty to drink, nice sandwiches (although about half still had crusts on), scones ok but cakes real disappointment. Shop bought tasting Victoria sponge, measly piece of tiffin and thinnest slice ever seen of Mr Kipling style cherry cake. The vic sponge was one chunk & 1 thin slice. OK for £10 per head but wouldn't go back or recommend. Better to have a sandwich & buy cake from the shop!

We ordered Beer battered cod and chips. The chips looked like they were out of the freezer and were supposed to be gourmet ones. No Becketts Bakery bread and butter and when asked for some only got somewhat stale bread (no butter) and if this is their standard from the bakery I certainly wouldn't buy any. Also ordered fish cakes, which also came without the aforementioned bread and butter. When asked was told not included yet menu states clearly it is. Having sampled what was delivered with the fish and chips, certainly didn't miss it.Finally, received single voucher for farm event. Stated one per £20 spent in restaurant so wondering why I didn't get three.Staff could be more pleasant and welcoming once you've got passed front desk (who were more than welcoming and friendly).Overall, walked away feeling it was substandard and won't be going back anytime soon

Visited here after an absence of 2 years. Arrived about 2pm to find all the sandwiches gone and everything being cleared away. However we managed to have a hot pork cob with stuffing and apple sauce which was delicious. We went to the coffee section but could not find an empty seat. It was somewhat irritating to see one person sat at a table for 4, ( more than once). Large car park with disabled and toilets. There is also a restaurant but I would advise to reserve a table. The actual farm shop gives a selection of fruit and vegetables and Home made produce but it is not cheap. There is also a florist There but it didn't appear to be open and was vert small.Tip: arrive early if you want a sandwich and a seat!

We had been to this place a while ago with the kids and it was great so we decided to return for a birthday treat and to say it was a disappointment would be an understatement, we found the front of house staff person quite rude and somewhat abrupt so that didn’t start the visit off well.Once seated we ordered and the food was not great, we had waited quite a while for it too and some of the items were cold, we did feed this back but it just wasn’t what we expected. The service was okay and the young girl that served us was lovely but you could tell was very inexperienced, I think the poor welcome at the start coupled with the issues with the food just made it a disappointing visit, I personally think they take too many orders in the kitchen and it could not cope.Probably won’t return now

Customer service Becketts Farm: The manager really needs to update his customer service training. When a couple come in for an anniversary afternoon tea with Prosecco and they are hit with the smell of fish and have been given the table right by the kitchen door even though they phoned to make the booking and requested a table over the back of the restaurant (staff member who took booking didn’t write anything down) the first thing to do is apologise not be rude and obnoxious. Your extractor fan in the kitchen is obviously not working if you are smelling fish in your restaurant. Plus there were loads of tables free (if he had bothered to look behind him). Made to wait half an hour for a table when there was no need. Waitress was lovely and polite unlike the management. So asked to choose one type of sandwich then brought the stand. When we got to the cakes the Victoria sponge butter cream was frozen in the middle, Chef stated it was icing and meant to be hard! In all my life never known hard icing in a Victoria sponge plus it was cold and hard, frozen. Plus they had actually cut a slice of this cake in half, so not even a portion of cake each, same thing done to every cake it was a full portion cut in half! Real cheap skate! The poor waitress brought some other cakes but by this time the whole experience had been ruined and we just wanted to leave. Waitress packed up the scones and we went. Felt awful as this was a gift which they totally ruined. Customer service is the most important aspect to any frontline customer facing service and Becketts Farm manager and Chef totally failed. I know they will look at this and brush it off but serving frozen food and the restaurant smelling of fish is not a good advert. Other restaurants have good extractor fans to stop the smells going out into the restaurant so maybe they should look at this. Treat your customers with respect as you never know who you are serving! I have had a response and the manager lied about the seating not being used and you can see in the picture it was.

We visited Becketts restaurant for Sunday dinner today. Although the service was extremely good and the waitress very nice it was let down by such poor value for money. Sunday Roast dinner consisted of meat roast potato’s carrot mash and stuffing with a Yorkshire. No green vegetables no roasted parsnips. This is not a Sunday roast when visiting this restaurant before it was described as a carvery and you certainly had all the trimmings then beautiful roast with lots of vegetables for £12.95 and well worth the price. With Covid it was changed to a Roast dinner served to the table same price same lovely vegetables. Today we visited and were shocked at what was brought out to us no vegetables other than potatoes when we asked we were advised that you now have to pay extra for any vegetables you require this is not good as most of the vegetables were an extra £2.00 per portion can you imagine the cost adding this to an already expensive Sunday roast. In comparison to other places this is NOT value for money in our opinion. It seems this place has become very arrogant in the market place and don’t listen to the needs of their customers many of whom today were elderly and not getting a great deal for £12.95 !! Come on Becketts sort it out please !

We waited ages for our 4 breakfasts & then when we got them they were cold. The standards over the past couple of years have really slipped, but the outrageous prices haven't. I have used Becketts for 3 or 4 years, I phoned up and booked in advance 24 hrs , we went bank holiday just gone . We went to our table looked at the menu for 10 mins and I fancied fish and chips and the wife wanted salmon ,only to be told we only have the breakfast menu on bank holidays which is never stated or said when you book.I had a full English and the wife omelette and one bottomless tea . We were charged for 2 bottomless teas because I asked for a cup , I did get refunded for the one bottomless tea , cheap skinny sausages certainly not like the farm shop ones loads of fries to fill your plate and mushrooms like cardboard. At 15.15pm cleaners were in hoovering and wiping down and one waitress wanted to clear the table even though I had not finished. In my opinion nice setting but so overpriced and I wish I had breakfast or eaten at Sainsburys cafe at the Maypole. To be honest I cut a bit of slack normally in the present situation but you know when standard’s are slipping. The poached eggs were stone cold and raw inside and the fried ones had slime all over the top and again served cold I have been a customer for many years both in the restaurant and the farm shop but I won’t be returning again while the waiter thinks it’s funny to wear insulting TShirts that his manager found very funny and spent a while taking his photo ! Booked in for breakfast, before a trip to Harrogate. Was so looking forward to this as I have been wanting to try this place for ages.I think the arrival comment by one of the main staff, started the rot, admittedly we was running 15 minutes late, but we was told that we was more or less lucky to get in ( place was half empty ) and a charge would have been made on the credit card! I must admit I have just read the T & C and if I had read or took more notice I would have informed them of our delay, the same if I was going to cancel. I just thought a bit more civility could have been used for an welcoming greeting. We had various breakfast meals and I had the small breakfast and thou the quality of the food was evident, but it was just about warm enough for my liking and this was for all the meals, service was slow considering it wasn’t really busy and hard to get their attention at times, but service was pleasant enough.Won’t be rushing back.

We went to Becketts Farm Restaurant yesterday (Sunday 28 november 2021). As it was our first Sunday lunch out at a restaurant for nearly 2 years, maybe expectations were too high. The bill of nearly £95 for 4 when only tea and water had been sipped, also added to my disappointment. I was the only one of my party to have a starter and chose salmon, £6.50. The amount of salmon could not be faulted, but as it was so tough, it was not a pleasure to eat. It came accompanied by a bowl of enough rocket/cherry tomato salad to feed all my party! Not enough sourdough accompanying it though. I pretty much gave up on it. I’d booked here as I said one of my party is GF but when we asked, we were told the roast potatoes, Yorkshire etc aren’t GF. Oh well. For the mains, our friends opted for the salmon fillet on mash with leeks. This arrived fairly hot and well presented, but at £15, one wouldn’t expect less. My wife and I chose the Sunday roast which unfortunately arrived cold (not warm, cold) and even after being reheated, was still lukewarm. The turkey and various other meats were plentiful and succulent, but literally half the plate was dominated by an extra large Yorkshire pudding. This would’ve been fine, had it not been overcooked and quite rubbery. Cutting it was a workout and it was difficult not to push everything else off the plate! The roast potatoes and sweet potato mash were excellent but the accompanying vegetables (mange tout, cabbage etc) again were lukewarm. I did not have a pudding as I’d had my “delicious” starter. My wife and one friend had the sticky toffee pudding and another friend had the cheesecake, all £6.50 each. The sticky toffee pudding was lovely but again just not hot enough (especially on a cold, snowy day). The waiting staff were friendly but not very informative (not explaining about the “bottomless tea or coffee”), and not one wore a face covering. It’s a large airy barnlike restaurant which maybe is the reason it was so cold in there. Was it us, or do I really need to get out more. You decide.

Really bad experience today at 12.30hrs. Food luke warm, pretty tasteless and having had to wait for 45 minutes for a table when the restaurant was half full during this time? Is this a ploy to advance you to wander into the store and spend more money? The full breakfast my wife had was abysmal with sausages and bacon in need of more browning and a pile of chips loaded on. Poached eggs fine and grilled tomato. My eggs Benedict with ham was very disappointing with virtually cold hollandaise sauce. Two pots of tea and totalling nearly £23, seems like they take customers for granted. I do not like returning food to the kitchen as circumspect as to what actually returns in it's place. I regret not saying something at the time though and decided to leaveWill probably not return which is a shame. For the money would have had a better breakfast at a greasy spoon cafe.

Waited 45 mins when the food arrived , it was cold , the 3 meats (not 4 ??)no taste , potatoes been warmed up several times & the Yorkshire pudding dried up! Kids meals only allowed 1 choice of meat ? £7 each ??a piece of meat a stuffing ball and a Yorkshire pudding ! No vegetables for them included just a bowl with sugar snap peas , cabbage heavily peppered ! £55 bill not justified ! The rude teenage staff sat in corner watching us eat whilst drinking there soft drinks very off putting whilst checking there mobiles ! So much for the famous 4 meat roast ! Yorkshires were over done and hard, veg in bowls wasn't really a carvery selection. Some mange tout and cabbage. Where was the carrots, peas, brocoli? Not enough gravy and compared to say The Golden Goose in Redditch at £9.99, was very poor. The starter mushrooms on sourbread toast... £6.50, really? That was a clear rip off. We past on desserts as they were probably again an expensive let down. Lesson learned, just don't visit again. As I said though waiting staff were great

Went yesterday 6th Oct, friendly staff, great assortment, of meat, bakery, gifts, jams, jellies and chutneys, fairly priced and lovely ideas for Christmas, we had meats and bakery, these have been gorgeous, couldn't get into cafe as they were very busy, so it shows how popular they are but did do coffee and cake, lovely and decent Twinnings tea, there is also fruit and veg on sale reasonable prices, will go back when in the area

I booked two tables well in advance of visiting as I know this is a popular spot especially on a Sunday. Online booking was simple and easy, I completed in mobile device and it was a breeze. Both were in nice areas (it’s a shame they weren’t together but something to make sure I ask for next time). We all had roast dinners which were sizeable and delicious - the all meats option was an unexpected choice that was snapped up by a number of our party.Extras very reasonable priced and the Yorkshire Puddings in particular were superb.Every server who looked after us was on top of their game and ensured we were well looked after. We had an elderly guest, a seven month old and allergy suffers with us and everybody was catered for brilliantly and the staff were still conscious of social distancing and covid measures which helped some of our party feel a lot more confident whilst dining inside.Would 100% recommend and 100% return. I can’t wait! Thank you team! The farm shop is also fantastic :)

Change of menu. Normally the breakfast platter is for 4 people, worked well for a family.Today they only do it for 2 people. However the cost is the same ** £26**Over priced, plate filled up with potato chips. Think it's time we looked for somewhere new for breakfast. Disappointed

What a fabulous place! Staff were friendly and helpful from the minute we arrived. One in particular went above and beyond, offering to “mend” a sandwich that we had cut fir our grandson to eat, but who decided he wanted it while again :-)The food was fantastic, very reasonably priced, but the service is what really made the experience top class. Thank you, we shall definitely be back!

Was given an afternoon tea gift card as a birthday present. Booked a table online only when we got to the restaurant, we were told tea was served after 2pm and we’d gone at 12.30. However, on our server speaking to manager and chef, they very kindly did us the very sumptuous afternoon tea. Staff were very accommodating and the food amazing. Can’t fault this restaurant. We’re going back just to sample their wonderful looking breakfast.

Had breakfast here a few days ago. Place was clean and the servers were helpful and efficient. Coffee was great but needed to be to keep the customers awake long enough for their food to be served. Over an hours wait for a cooked breakfast which when it arrived was at least 50% fried potato. Better breakfasts to be found nearer home with quicker service. The toilets weren't too clean either.

lovely place. Food came out quickly, food was slightly cold but our waitress Hayzel was quick to rectify that, she was very attentive to our needs and couldn’t do enough for us. The restaurant was very busy, she had a lot of tables on her own but the service she gave was suberb. Thank you Becketts

We were there to buy a pump at Shirley Aquatics which is located on the same site and decided to call into Becketts Farm to do some shopping. After this we decided to take a coffee break in the attractive looking restaurant area which is quite large with well spaced out tables. The staff are pleasant, we enjoyed our coffee break, it is a good option if you’re in the area.

We've visited Beckett's several times over the past few years. We enjoy the breakfast in particular. Good prices, great food and excellent service. Booking ahead is almost a must as it is often busy. The farm shop is also good with plenty to offer and quality to. The cake and sandwiches counters are a must. Like all farm shops you can find cheaper elswhere but not the quality and service.Have a breakfast and a look around and you'll be back.

Very disappointed in how the standard has dropped considerably. When you order Poached Eggs, you expect a Yolk- no, rock hard! Bacon only luke warm. There a ridiculous pile of what were meant to be sliced fried Potatoes. Very underdone i’m afraid. Could be a while before i revisit!

Quite expensive, products were ok. Milk only had 2 days on the bottle, the cakes looked great but were dry. Soft bread rolls undercooked, but meat and pre cooked meats were lovely.

Lovely visit and friendly staff as always but I just have one small complaint I’m afraid. I ordered the ploughman’s plank, largely because its a treat for me to have crusty bread and cheese etc. To my disappointment however, it was served with a slice of ordinary granary bread. I challenged this and was told they didn’t have any crusty rolls, which given it is a farm shop that sells them, I thought it a bit odd. If I’d been told at the point of ordering that it would be served with just a slice of bread, I would have changed my order. The rest of the ploughman’s was lovely but it sorely missed its crusty counterpart. To make matters worse, I went into the shop afterwards and there were crusty rolls in abundance! Sorry for the moan but if you are unable to provide what is stated on the menu, you need to explain at the point of ordering.

As has always been our experience we thoroughly enjoyed being able to lunch again at Beckett's Farm on Wednesday. We've missed being able to go since the Coved closedown. As usual the service was pleasant end efficient and it was nice to be remembered by the staff on duty. Excellent service and brilliant price especially after my delayed birthday present reduced the price still further. Heer's to the next time - which will be Sunday lunch on the 30th.

We just visited this morning and I am quite frankly appalled. There was no effort to enforce covid guidelines in the shop. It was over crowded to the point where social distancing was made impossible with no system in place to limit numbers inside. Many customers weren't wearing masks some were even eating in the middle of the shop. They are putting their staff and customers at extreme risk.

Collect my afternoon tea box from here today... cost £10It looked ok, but a very poor selection of “finger” sandwiches Firstly when they say “finger” they mean size of a finger and no biggerSecond complaint...the choice of filling extremely bad...it was 2 filling. This could be improved by giving 4 different fillings. Also size of sandwiches should be increased. The four sandwiches only made up I typical round of a sandwich with the crust. The cakes were ok...One big slab of velvet cake and two tiny slices of other cakesOne fruit scone with small pot of jam and clotted cream In my opinion....too many sweet items, there should be a balance of sweet/savoury

This is the first place I visited at the end of lockdown. We could only eat outside but it was great. We had piping hot coffee in paper cups and home made cakes in paper bags. We shared a picnic table with another couple and felt like we’d won the lottery. There was a one way system and sanitizer made us feel safe. Bonus we could even use the toilets. Can’t wait to come back.

He estado muchas veces antes y lo recomendaría?

The Sunday roast beef lunch was so small we thought it was a child's portion. 3 very small paper thin slices of bought in slice beef from the supermarket if it weighted 3oz you would be lucky. The plate arrived with Yorkshire pudding hiding the slices with the gravey on it but we then waited for the veg by which time all had gone cold. This was a complete Faulty tower. You couldn't make it up. Will certainly not be going back. And £18 for a cheap bottle of wine. NOT A PLACE TO VISIT.

After a long journey to Alvechurch Marina we were pleasantly surprised to find a pub on the doorstep before setting off on a weeks cruise on The Birmingham & Worcester Canal. We were more than disappointed to find no food available on a Saturday evening and to compound our woes a canal side pub that doesn’t allow dogs, What is that all about? Anyway we ventured into the village and found a lovely meal, superb beer, hospitality and a welcome for the hound. As for The Weighbridge NO.

We have been using this venue for ages and it never fails to please. Some time since our last visit and now under different management but good and service were as good as ever. We understand that hospitality is suffering and the menu now offers a reduced choice but no real problem. The only criticism is that the dining room was so cold! Several diners wore their overcoats throughout. We will return in warmer weather. Otherwise five star.
