Great location, friendly and helpful staff, delicious food! Pottery pieces are a little pricey but I kind of expected that going into it, but I will say there's a large variety of different things to paint which is great. It gets booked up quickly and is a pretty small place inside, but my friend and I were allowed to sit outside and paint there. Really recommended!

The hostess was very friendly and helpful. Love concept. Painting pottery and eat/drink. Food OK. The server that brought my food did not bring cutlery!!! When they brought my husbands food, they brought cutlery!! Strange. Food was OK. Needed seasoning . Avocado was not the best. Unfortunately the cafe had a lot of children, who were quite loud, some more than others. Husbands scrambled eggs were solid. He had to cut them like an omelette. He said they tasted OK..

We loved our visit to Bean & Brush in it's new location in Stanley Square. A great selection of pots to paint and lovely home cooked food at really reasonable prices. They now have an app for booking which makes life easier (getting through on the phone was always a bit hit and miss!) and the staff were so helpful and friendly. We look forward to returning and it so lovely to see a Sale Independent business thriving.

What a fab cafe. We drank, ate and painted. The drinks and food where delicious, good varied menu. All the staff where really helpful and friendly and explained everything clearly. The painting would have been great if not with a 3 year old 🤣🤣🤣 Lots of ceramic choice and paints. Will definitely be returning but leaving my child at home and coming with friends.

Labelling the menu with what’s vegan. Most places do this now and it’s tricky to have to guess and then ask questions while paining with all my toddlers. We love the concept of bean and brush. We’ve love creating mini masterpieces and how cozy it is.

I took my daughter for lunch and pottery painting. The food was amazing, I wasn’t expecting it to be so tasty. I expected the food to be mediocre as it’s pottery painting, but no! I had soup and it was 10/10! Pottery painting was good too! The staff were helpful and polite. I caught a couple of names - Alexa, Lydia & Manny - who were all welcoming and friendly.

Really enjoyed our trip to this art cafe. Staff were lovely, attentive and very helpful. Great standard of customer service. Coffee was good quality. According to the kids, the best hot chocolate they had ever had. Waffles were generous and yummy. Nice selection of ceramics to choose from and we liked the selection of paints that you have unlimited access to. I would have given 5 out of 5 but marked as 4 for the following reasons: - The ceramic selection was great but it would be nice to see more choices with price points below £15, otherwise it can be a very expensive outing for a family. - The toilets could do with a little bit of attention. Other than that, we all had a really lovely time and we will be back for perhaps a birthday or special occasion (or more regularly if a greater choice of smaller price points on the ceramics becomes available)

Four of us went for lunch. Ordered at the counter. Really nice young lady took our order. Nothing fancy. Mine arrived within 10 mins but mine only. I had finished by the time the others started to arrive. They all arrives separately. We ordered one after the other to enable us to pay separately. Food was okay but expensive I thought at just over £10 for scrambled egg on toast with smoked salmon and a skinny latte. Sorry. Place was very noisy. Just not for me at lunch time.

Having been away from sunny Sale over the last few months it was good to return and find that Bean & Brush is still serving up wonderful home cooked brunches. I couldn't resist their signature breakfast which was as good as always but I have to admit I was slightly envious at the sight of the streaky bacon waffles with maple syrup at the table next door. I see that they have added more Chef's specials at the weekend, I soooo want to return for the homemade fish & chips or buttermilk chicken. Maybe being back in Sale is not too bad after all, cheers guys, keep up the good work.

I tempted fate with the review "food glorious food" and part of me thought at the time "what if?" Surely the Bean and Brush have been too good for too long to loose it's mystical sparkle. Now T.G.I Fridays back twenty years ago was an amazing place to eat but then it slowly deteriorated but surely that couldn't happen to my favourite breakfast serving place in Sale? I know staff are always going to rotate but a few have left and it turns out over the years I must have become accustomed to their food. Careers and Thailand have a lot to answer for but they are gone so let's move on. The "if" in this case was a weird half cooked semi warm bagel and over done bacon I could have surfed with. I knew then the glory days, for us, were over but nothing last forever.

Food is nice and ok priced for sale. Children's selection is excellent and well priced. Food always arrives nicely presented and staff very friendly. Lovely to meet up for lunch or just a drink. Can get busy at lunchtime and is packed during school holidays. The lift is still not working and hasn't been for a while which is awkward with a child in a pram. The art studio is to small and could do with extending, if you are planning a visit in school holidays booking is a must. Some of the pottery items are very expensive and even the 'pocket money' selection is quite a lot for something so little. Worth a visit or a treat or to make a present.....the kids love painting the pottery.

After visiting family in Manchester for 3 weeks and eating out almost everyday I have to say this was one of our favourite joints. Rather loud when you walk in but wonderful vibe for the rugrats. The ordering at the till system confused us but got the job done, a bit of miscommunication at the till over allergies however the chef very kindly came out to speak to us to be sure of what she making. The food came out in a timely manner and for the first time we had portions that warranted the price! Our entire visit to the uk has been a constant battle of portion sizes, no wonder everyone is so tiny here. Then upstairs to do some crafts which the children LOVED! We chose the deco patch option to take away that day but they also do paint a pot which they then fire for you, wonderful gift idea if you are local or able to return a week later to collect. All in all a lovely day out with a great memory to take back across the pond

We've been going to the Bean and Brush for a few years now and it's somewhere you'd be brave to go to if you don't have children! Our son loves it there - the fish-finger sandwiches always look good. There's a small play area where he can go off and read/play and make friends. It's often extremely crowded, particularly around peak meal-times, and I have found the food to be inconsistent. Portion sizes seem to be getting smaller and the pizzas should be left alone I'm afraid - they're consistently soggy and tired. That said, it doesn't stop us going there as they're great with kids, it's a nice environment and food is OK.

This place is kid centred. I'm more interested in the food. It's a fairly ok place with a few contradictions, especially around the food it serves to kids. The clear impression is that the food is top notch, so it has set its pricing to match this image. The coffees are really set at the upper price limit, so I just didn't bother. I bought a £6.75 deal of a tuna mayo sandwich and the tuna filling was meagre, it was served with a small mushroom soup portion which tasted really ace and a potatoes worth of triple cooked chips, which were so below par I rate them as poor: they should try using Maris Piper potatoes and hotter oil. I would have preferred an egg & onion sandwich but 'we don't serve egg after 11:30am' eh, why not I'm the customer? It's notable for the owner to remember that customers make pay days. I also ordered a £3.95 kids meal which can easily become a £6 lunch with a small drink added: fish fingers (3) with corn on the cob and it came with a pre frozen corn and Mc Cain style pre frozen skinny chips, so this industrially made food is pretty far away from top notch, the processes used and chemicals applied to produce industrially made chips would turn your stomach. Remember this food isn't made by cooks or chefs it's made by food chemists and produced in factories. These food producers don't have to state any of the chemical processes on the list of ingredients to produce chips, only the end result and they've paid millions of pounds to lobby not to have to, so manufacture labels will show potatoes & sunflower oil and you'll be fooled into thinking that it's 'healthy' food. That's the intention and it usually works very well. This is easily rectified just simply cook chips in-house by using fresh potatoes and rapeseed oil, no chemistry degree or factory needed. If you wanted to, you could add beef dripping to the vegetable oil to crisp the chips on a 50/50 basis. What also really disappointed me was their use of poorer quality, cheap frozen fish fingers. I had expected much better quality and it has certainly pitched its pricing for much, much better. Once again buy fresh cod, cut into strips breadcrumb and fry it, simple as that. No chemicals needed. Hopefully the quality of the food served to kids will soon start to reflect the pricing model. Any adult buying a main meal should get a deal on tea or coffee.

When a friend invited me to meet and eat at a cafe that is also a children's art and craft venue, I had serious misgivings! These days, now that I'm well into my grumpy old man phase, I tend to like quieter places. I consoled myself with the thought that it was a school day and the place was probably going to be quieter than an empty cathedral. Arriving before my friend, I found the place to be almost full of mums, mums to be, their friends, and their babies and toddlers. However, the place was remarkably peaceful in the circumstances. It is quite spacious, beautifully decorated with art produced by patrons, very well staffed with friendly helpful staff, and has affordable fresh food.

We always have a super time here. There is a cafe area downstairs and art studio upstairs. It can get very busy upstairs at peak times, and also if they have a birthday party taking place. I find it best to call a few days before and book for the art activities, just to be safe. The art studio is mid-range price, not as pricey as some. The standard of equipment etc is good and it's a really nice set-up. But they don't seem to have many small aprons, so I always take one. The cafe downstairs has a nice range of food/snacks. Service is generally really good. But, be warned, we ordered a margherita pizza and got the most revolting pizze we'd ever seen: piled high with sooooo much cheese that ooozed fat and grease. Apart from that, we've always had nice food here.

I took my boys to the Bean and Brush cafe today and we had a ball. We started with pottery painting. The boys are one and four, so i was a little nervous about being near so many breakables, but luckily it was quiet and the boys were on good form! We made baubles for the Christmas tree and my eldest also painted a plane. The selection of pottery was great, plenty to choose from, and the prices were reasonable. Michelle, the owner, was incredibly helpful and didnt even flinch when the one year old decided it would be better to paint the table, himself and me, then and throw the paintbrushes all over the floor. They also had a great selection of decopatch items for older kids/adults. After painting we headed downstairs to the cafe. The food was lovely, fresh and again reasonably priced. There was a little play area that kept my eldest entertained until the food arrived. This place is a gem and we will definitely be returning!

We took our young son aged Five to a birthday party hosted here by his classmate. Very good arrangements. The activities were fun and children had great time. Creative, interesting. Its a good venue for such events. Economic prices. Will certainly return for a meal later.

I have been visiting this café regularly for some 5 years now, but this will be my first review on them (as I am still getting to grips with Trip Advisor!). Every time I visit, or indeed even just call to make a booking, those I speak to are knowledgeable and so helpful. The variety of activities in the art café on the 1st floor are suitable for all age ranges and as a disabled customer, I don't struggle at all to get about, as they have a lift installed. This is a lovely family feel establishment and the food is just scrummy. Especially the cakes!!! I would rate this place a 5 out of 5 every time!

Spent a lovely afternoon with family and friends catching up in the half term break. The Cafe is a great asset to sale, it was so nice to visit an independent with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. The kids enjoying painting the pots, whilst we enjoyed lovely coffee and fresh warm scones clearly had been just made! Will e back again a gem if sale.

I came with friends and we painted mugs and piggy banks. There were so many different things to choose from and lots of examples for inspiration. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we were able to have tea and coffee while painting. We were there for a long time but there was no rush for us to move or hurry up which was good. There were quite a few kids around and I think this is a great activity for all ages. Will have to come again.

Been going to the Bean & Brush since it open in May 2011 and it's still our favourite cafe because of the delicious food and friendly staff. Yesterday we enjoyed homemade Broccoli and Stilton soup with chunky fries and a sandwich. The kids had pizza and veggie sausages followed by a cupcake. The meal wouldn't be complete without a flat white!! As always a lovely lunch. Thanks

Went for a family brunch and we all had the deli combo which includes a sandwich, cup of soup and cup of chips. All 5 of our soups were cold when they came out and one sandwich was stale and the rest were dry bread. By the time the soup came back we had finished our meal. The chef came out and was rather annoyed at us for sending it back. However most of the other staff were pleasant and resolved our complaint by giving us a free drink for next time and gave us money back from one of the meals. We chose to have our drinks then as we knew we wouldn't go back although I don't think that went down very well with the staff. All in all we chose not to let the experience deflect from us enjoying a family day together, however personally we wouldn't choose to go back again.

Visiting Manchester for some work and staying with friends in Sale. Found the Bean & Brush online and the menu looked tasty. The place itself is great and there was a lovely atmosphere with friendly staff also. Had the full cooked breakfast which was good and satisfied brunch cravings. Only downside was maybe the portion size as the printed menu reads "sausages" and there was only one on the plate. This is a minor detail but, with the price being relatively high for a cooked breakfast ( £7.95), I would have expected maybe a wee bit more. The produce was of a high standard though and I enjoyed my visit.

Just love this place, fabulous food and goodies, great atmosphere, friendly staff and by far the best coffee in sale and the coolest/funkiest place in sale. Had a salad today that was gorgeous, last time i was there the soup was also delicious. Kids love it too but I also love to sneak in on my own and read the paper. Its so nice as a local resident that there is an independent coffee house like this. As you can tell, am a big fan, and this establishment is a real boost to the town.

Popped in for a quick coffee and a cake with the kids, but where have all the cakes gone??. There was only the odd one left and nothing that looked that good. I know the reason given will be we have been busy bla bla bla, but for a place that is open until 7 and I arrived at 4, this is just poor. Please buck up your ideas, I expect better.

don't go if you don't like kids, they have pottery painting and other activities, the food is pricey for a café and can be a bit bland. they have kids toys around the place and a good kids menu.

We always enjoy our visit to Bean and Brush. It could be little bit chaotic if you hit the busy time with screaming with children all around but it is a place designed for families with a little ones in mind. My child enjoys pottery painting and papier mash. Staff is very helpful. Their cafe menu has a great choice and offers healthy option as well. I always come out satisfied with having a good catch up with friends over a good lunch with my child entertained at he same time.

This is a family cafe for kids so if you want somewhere quiet this is probably not it. But if you want somewhere child friendly it cannot be beaten. I Don't understand the negative reviews. It's like those people have been to a different cafe. We have been coming here regularly for about two years and the standard of food is excellent. Particular favourites are the burger, the beef sub, and the veg chilli. I have occasionally popped in without my kids when I have been in these sale area because the food is that good.

Tried this on a Sunday morning prior to going on the safari footprint trail through Sale. There is a warm and friendly atmosphere and the service is relaxed and unhurried. Good is flavoursome and good value. I had fish cake in a brioche bun with sweet potato fries which was fantastic. My 3 year old daughter had cheesy pasta and garlic bread, the portion was very generous indeed. My wife and I also had coffee which was good and strong. Will definitely come again.

A lovely Atmosphere - I had 3 children painting a pot. The staff were very nice popping by frequently to tell the children how great their painting was- that was really appreciated. I ordered a coffee and was really pleased they offered to bring it to the table so I wasn't away from my children. Coffee was good. Recommended xxxx

Visited Bean and Brush with my 14 year old daughter. The food and drink (fish finger sandwich, coffee, milkshake) was really nice. The service was good and the place had a nice, lively atmosphere. There is a some really nice art on the walls at the moment too.

Happened on this place by accident just looking for a bite to eat and a quick coffee. Seems popular as was quite full and having pizza for breakfast is something I haven't done since my student days. Will go again next time I am in the area.

Nice staff generally, good menu and selection but food is truely awful. It shouldn't be that hard, don't get me wrong cakes are pretty good - but they are bought it in. Anything they actually have a hand in is poor. Either charge much less (maybe reduce the amount of staff as a suggestion) or just do simple things well. Cut your crudités fresh! Don't thrice cook chips if you don't know how. This place should be much better but its just not. Shame.

OK, this used to be a pleasant place to eat and the food was excellent, although a tad pricey, but it was always well cooked and tasted fresh. Over the last couple of months, the quality has really gone downhill. The portion sizes are tiny and the food is poorly cooked. Almost all the staff appear disinterested in attempting to provide any customer satisfaction. It's as if the place is staffed by a bunch of moody teenage divas, and that poor attitude has a negative affect on customer experience. I have given it a couple more chances, but my last visit was the final straw. I will be moving on to one of the many other cafes, where I expect a greater chance of feeling welcomed and can enjoy my food without worrying about what it may do to me.

Came here today for a mid morning snack and a cuppa. The place was packed with young families, and this cafe certainly caters well for those with young children, buggies etc. What a shame then that my tea cake was soggy, burnt at the edges, and raw in the middle. This place certain doesn't take as much care over its food as it should! My friend described a scone from here which was rock solid... The menu is so promising but there's a long way to go before the quality matches expectations!

I'm in shock - the end of an era. What was a very solid local for an affordable food is now terrible. Really poor food compared to what's on offer in the area. Too make things worse there was hardly anything on the menu was available. Such a shame.

It was warm and cozy. Staff weren't very chatty but they were nice enough. Mocha was good but am very disappointed that the Milan hot chocolate isn't on the menu anymore

Been here many times and the food is great with a good choice. Highly recommend the lamb leg steak and the pies. The burgers are also very good on a pretzel bun. Staff are all fabulous and there's a nice vibe in the pub.
