Beach House Cafe in Great Yarmouth

No reviews since 2022. I wonder why? Different ownership? Went for a coffee before visiting sealife centre. Well I thought I was speaking a foreign language. Asked for an Americano with Some cold milk when one of the kids serving had to ask how to make it!!!! Eventually was asked was it a black coffee I wanted!!! Also ordered a Latte… well it had hardly any milk in it. Coffee was tasteless and looked like dirty dish water in the glass mug…. A complete waste of £6 When I took them back to complain and said what was wrong the young lad just said ‘Bye’ I hope others read this. Maybe it was the coffee machine but these young lads working in there could not have cared about a customer complaint

Food here is really good and staff were friendly and willing to accommodate changes to the menu. The prices are also amazing (£1 for a cup of tea and £6.95 for a fish and chips which was bigger than expected). The facilities are clean and the seating allows you to look out onto the clean beach. There is also indoor seating if it’s a bit of a wet day. Nan approved!

Okay food, but we waited over 45 minutes for our food, when they weren’t particularly busy. When we politely asked how long it might be, we could hear the person cooking shouting at the nice member of staff asking for us ‘TELL THEM IT’S COOKED FRESH’. The lovely staff member came back to us and explained it would only be a few more minutes. When the food came, it was served by the same person we’d heard shouting, who then threw down the food on the table and shouted at us ‘IT’s COOKED FRESH’. So it might be, but 45 minutes wait when the cafe was more than half empty is definitely more than long enough to be waiting to ask politely where our order was. Food was FRESH, but tasted just average and quite bland. And not sure why we had to wait over 45 minutes when we ordered two sarnies and some fish and chips, even if it was COOKED FRESH. Kitchen only appeared to be able to cope with one order at a time, so goodness knows how long it would take when they’re busy! BUT IT’S FRESH. Also birds kept flying in and pooping, and staff didn’t care - didn’t even clean up when another table asked for some wipes.

Friendly welcome and excellent service even under pressure. Lots of customers enjoying the food including us. Great value for money( fish and chips £6.95 and scrumptious! Good choice of drinks and desserts too. Thank you to ex-oil rigger(sorry can’t remember name) for looking after us and the kitchen staff for their hard work.

We stopped off here to feed the kids for lunch, one has a sausage and chips and the other had a chicken burger and chips, my husband also had a scone with jam and cream. All of the food was eaten. There was a gentleman cleaning tables and getting rid of rubbish who was lovely. (Very brown legs!) We would come back again. Not a long wait for food. Dog friendly.

Purely average fish and chips. Definitely not worth 45 min wait though. Ordered fish, chips and some battered sausage. They didn’t seem to mind at all that they were “a little bit behind.”

We came here Sunday for lunch and was not disappointed. We were 2 families with 4 kids between us and it was the only 90 minutes that we didn't hear them complain mini golf and the beach trampolines at the back were a god send as they could play these at a great price while we could watch them while sitting and enjoying a coffee. Great location, service was great and the food was fantastic. We did have a 30 min wait on food but this worked to our advantage as mentioned about. Food is fresh and piping hot when it arrived too.

For a beachside chippy it took ages for our food to arrive. The chips were shop bought and not homemade, like a cheap McCain version, not what you want from a chippy. Sausage looked nice battered, but inside was mushy, made us feel sick. The one way system was breached by lots of people & queue junpers but the boy behind the till just looked & didnt say anything. Meal deal of £3.75 was worth £1.50 Lots of staff but no organisation and random food orders coming out at different times. For god's sake up your game for the May BH & summer rush as this is pathetic.

We found this place by chance as we had our shih tzu with us and saw the "dogs welcome" sign in the window. They made us very welcome. We loved the decor and the menu was great. Very large choice for fellow vegetarians like myself. The veggie lasagne was homemade and tasted delicious. All of us had massive portions and the service was top notch, very friendly place. Even the dog got top service and he enjoyed his sausage very much! Toilets are beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean too. Our favourite diner in great tarmouth, highly recommend it!

There loads cafe and restaurants along sea front here but so glad we popped in here as think her name was pat who served us was so welcoming friendly and nice , menu lot to choose from and all sorts amazing puddings and lovely to have cup tea with meal not a pint , both are meals were certainly big enough the chips were amazing and both meals looked and tasted good , sadly we live 200 miles from here but well done , great service and prices

We regularly visit this cafe it is such good value with good sized portions. They offer home cooked food and the service is very good they always make you feel welcome. We would always recommend this cafe it is a little gem!!!

Order food which chips came with, the chips was undercooked and tasted horrible, some of the chips was green and rotten but still got given them. We found something inedible in one of the meal. We complained to the person in charged and got a very rude response saying we were lying about what we found even when she showed him he kept saying it was a chip and when we mentioned about the green rotten chips his response was that they are ment to be like that. Eventually gave us a refund on the chips after being rude. Don’t go to this place.

On Great Yarmouth seafront and decided on this venue following looking at the menu outside. My wife enjoyed her liver and bacon and I enjoyed my chilli. No alcohol available in the café which is a shame but I do understand. We would return next time we are in the area as meals were very enjoyable and sensibly priced.

As a family of 6 plus a dog we have been visiting beach house cafe for years. The owners and staff are amazingly friendly and the food matches. I wouldn't eat anywhere else when were in yarmouth. See you all next year

This Is The Best Cafe In Yarmouth. The Owners Cat And Pete Are Two Of The Nicest People You Could Wish To Meet. You Do Not Have To Wait Long To Be Served . The Food Is Fantastic And You Must Try The Steak Pie . We Ate There For Nearly Every Night Of The Week We Were There The Atmosphere Is Very Homely. Friendly little cafe. Very accomodating and value for money. A must stop for all day breakfast on our day out visits to yarmouth. Even more choice of food inside. Was surprised to see vegan breakfast on the menu

We found this lovely cafe when looking for coffee snack and for us and our two grandsons. Not only was the coffee great but the staff were so lovely and welcoming. We returned late afternoon for a meal and this was excellent....and so cheap. We’ll definitely visit again when in Great Yarmouth.

First came here several years ago. Have eaten here every time we have visited Yarmouth. Clean (top hygiene rating), comfortable, tasty hot food served quickly, sensible prices, good portion sizes, clean toilets, friendly staff. Bloke serving (same person every time we have been) - is he the owner ?- friendly,helpful,no fuss ordering. This cafe ticks all the boxes for a quick pit stop meal - try it & you won’t be disappointed !

We stumbled upon this wonderful place br accident and we are so glad that we did! The place is spotlessly clean and the staff are so friendly. The food is absolutely amazing, so fresh and you get so much for your money!! We’ve been in every day of our holiday and will be back every time we visit Yarmouth.

Called in for breakfast with family, expecting your typical cafe, but as soon as we stepped inside we could see that this was a well organised business selling quality food.

Dropped in on the off chance as wanted a snack for lunch. Donna and her team are exceedingly friendly and try to please. Ordered hot dogs with onions, good size and delicious, Sandwiches and baguette were freshly made and full of filling, tea strong as requested and Micha as good as any. The price was surprising Reasonable. If you are looking for cheap and cheerful with good food and cleanliness it’s recommended.

Found this café while walking along the sea front. Extensive menu boards offering lots of choice. I selected the home made shepherd's pie while hubby went for the steak pie. Neither of us were disappointed. Lots of seating, a good view of the sea and friendly service. I would recommend this café to anyone visiting Great Yarmouth.

We visited Yarmouth for a couple of days this week and came across this little cafe, I went in to get a sandwich and chips for lunch, lovely hot chips, condiments on the side ready to use, and friendly service, we decided to go here again and sit in for a meal the next day, the staff saw us take a vegan menu to look at, a lovely staff member spoke to us about the vegan menu and how they cook everything separate for vegans, this is fantastic as some places although they say vegetarian or vegan they use the same utensils etc as they do for meat, we ordered our food a vegan burger meal and a chicken burger meal, when it came out it was a very good sized portion, a big bun, piled high with salad and a burger in with a good helping of chips, the lady then bought over bbq sauce and mayo and let me know which one was vegan she even offered vegan condiments, she told us about a website which you can see the local vegan and vegetarian restaurants on, a fantastic service with a smile. Thankyou!! We will defo return when we visit again!

Our first visit to Beach house cafe what a pleasant surprise, a warm welcome, varied menu, clean and dog-friendly, the special breakfast at £4.70 was a real treat fresh, well cooked and hot, a generous plateful giving 5-star value, 1st class service.

First time visiting beach house cafe but will definitely go back. Good home style food. Great friendly staff who were very helpful. Menu looked good. Yes furniture looks a bit shabby but looks good and bang on trend, shabby chic.

We have been going to this cafe for a few years now when we visit Yarmouth. This year we have been twice. This was the 1st year with our dog, she was welcomed as much as we were with staff bringing her a bowl of water. The food is great and the portions are massive and really reasonably priced which is very welcome with 2 children wanting everything a seaside resort can offer. We have always had great friendly service and the cafe is always really clean. Looking forward to returning next year.

A couple years ago we went to a cafe further down the sea front and it was horrific! This place is the total opposite! The quality of the food was amazing for a cafe and portion size generous but most importantly the staff are super welcoming. Oh and they don’t ration you on condiments like our previous experience with a cafe in Yarmouth. Thanks Guys, we will be coming back before the end of our holiday

My husband and I spent 4 hours travelling to great Yarmouth and found nowhere open that did breakfasts, until we came across this place.

Called here to get some lunchtime sandwiches - good choice! Rolls were nice and fresh and soft, filling was generous and staff really helpful.

Me and my family visites a few days ago for our tea. We had 3 different omlettes and one had liver and onions. Our food was fantastic! Would definately reccommend!!!!! Next time we go to great yarmouth we will definately be returning

I visit this cafe whenever I’m in Great Yarmouth,the portions are massive and very good prices, the staff are very friendly and it is very clean. I would definitely recommend eating here and will be visiting again next time I’m in Great Yarmouth.

Lovely cafe on the sea front - amongst the plethora of eateries in Great Yarmouth this stuck out as a very clean 5 star cafe with an extensive menu of all the basic plus a brilliant vegetarian and vegan selection (and vegan cakes!). Our family of 5 went in and were well catered for at an excellent price too. There is nothing fancy here but its very clean, comfortable and with friendly service. All you want from a cafe by the sea really! Will definitely be coming back - thanks!

Fab food at the right price. We took our four children in. Each fussy eaters, but they all managed to pick off the menu easily. I had liver and bacon which was perfectly cooked. The burgers were 'amazing' and my youngest cleared his plate - which is almost unheard of! We all agreed that the chips were the nicest we'd ever had. Might see you again later in the week Those cakes looked beautiful

Went in for a coffee and although we did not eat we could see some nice food being served. Very friendly atmosphere. Enjoyed the coffee and before we left got hubby to check out the toilets first as I'm very wary and won't use most of them. Here I was quite happy to use as they were spotless. I always think if they are clean then so is the kitchen. Will head there when in Great Yarmouth again.

Me and my family had lunch in this nice little place yesterday. We wanted to go inside and sit down with the dog as it was cold and the owner was very nice. He got my dog some water and we had a very nice lunch. Simple and cheap. You get what you pay for and it was well worth it. We had 3 omelettes witch where big with chips and peas. Kids loved them! We had sausage and chicken also. We had 5 meals and 5 drinks for £30. It was clean and tidy inside with some cool guitars and pictures on the walls. Was a little dated but reminded me of a fifties cafes. Would defiantly recommend a visit for a simple lunch or breakfasts.

Visited this lovely little café over the bank holiday weekend, they served a great selection of homemade food I had the steak pie which was amazing and by far the best steak pie I have ever had in my life!!! My husband had the Lasagne which again was homemade and was beautiful!!! The café was very clean (especially the toilets!!!), the chairs were a little worn but nothing a little refirb won't fix!! Will definitely be returning, this will be our new regular local place to visit.

Had cheese jacket potato my brother had spaghetti bolognese the food was so so nothing special restaurant needs major updating the tables were really dirty I won’t be coming back again

We came here for full english breakfasts.wow so lovely and hot and super fast service.Will definitely be coming here again. A real gem. Loved it.

Really good tasty food at extremely reasonable prices. 6 of us were eating and all our meals were lovely. The best chilli con carne i have ever eaten anywhere! Just a shame we were only able to visit once.

We returned to this amazingly FRIENDLY cafe as soon as we'd parked the car! Such fantastic decor and great location on the seafront. Treated so well as always. The food was fab and such fast service. Such a variety and brilliant dietary choices, soya milk available for my hubbie who's lactose intolerant! Visited several times over our weeks holiday! Looking forward to next year!

After discovering this cafe on the Happy a Cow website I was excited to come and see what vegan options were on offer in a not very vegan friendly seaside town! I was amazed by how much choice there was and by how much effort the owner has gone through by catering to pretty much everyone!

Apart from an excellent cup of tea we had a very good meal here. The food was freshly cooked, very hot and well presented. Portions were massive. No room for dessert! Pity as cakes looked delicious. Very reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

After a change of plan we decided to give the Beach House Cafe a try for tea and what a lovely surprise. A clean restaurant, piping hot lasagne, tasty, reasonably priced and nicely served by pleasant friendly staff.

Stopped by this cafe as we fancied a quick light meal. We ordered cheesy baked beans on jacket potato with a side of salad, a can of drink and a cup of tea for just over £10 (which you need to spend over to pay by card). The service was very quick and food hot, the jacket potato was soft skinned although slightly hard inside but wasn't expecting too much from a cafe with so can't really complain here, very generous portion of beans, cheese and side salad. Reasonably priced cafe especially if you're on a budget and are looking for a quick meal. Would come here again when in Great Yarmouth.

Having visited before and enjoying the food here, we were particularly disappointed in our latest visit.The cod was dry and hard at the edges and both our portions had quite a few bones present. The chips were so-so. Very poor and a big let down.

We ate most of our meals in this fabulous little café on the Sea Front during our trip to Great Yarmouth. Its ideally located on the sea front near most of the attractions so easy to find. They have a great choice of food from various main meals, sandwiches, salads, Jacket Potatoes, Fish and Chips, Cakes, Hot/Cold drinks. All food is cooked to order so remains fresh and great tasting. Great portion sizes so you won't go hungry and great value for money. The staff are extremely friendly and will have a chat to you. The café is also dog friendly which is hard to come by in the area so much appreciated that they allow dogs in, on leads, and also provided water for them.

We were out in Great Yarmouth for a bit of shopping, sight seeing and a bite to eat in total there was 8 in our party we decided to stop here for a meal there was plenty of choice on menu to please us all the staff were friendly and food was amazing. Dishes we had were fish and chips very hot no small portions like you mostly get, gammon nice thick piece , steak pie homemade full of steak, burger shepherds pie homemade a couple of kids meals all served really quickly and very hot, normally from seaside I leave hungry not here so a big thumbs up to the owner and thanks for dinner. Will tell all my friends and family if passing to visit. Forgot to mention great value for money not to expensive.

Very low quality food which I'll admit is reflected in the price we ordered 4 breakfasts wasn't offered bread and butter ideal for family's on a budget

Usually go there every time we go to Yarmouth very good price on meals kids deals very good, portions a good size, lasagna, burgers, breakfast all nice kids always eat there's clean restaurant friendly staff definitely will always use. Only down point is £1 a can of drink bit pricey but most places on the sea front over charge for drinks

After a very long stroll we stumbled across this place. The team were absolutely amazing. The menu was vast and the quality outstanding. Everything cooked to order with fresh ingredients. The whole family enjoyed their meals and if we had longer left on our holiday we'd definitely come back. Really recommend to all especially families

Called in for a snack lunch on Wednesday 12th April 2017.Was served with freshly cooked meal which was a very reasonable price.Staff were friendly and efficient.Premises were absolutely spotless, including the toilets.What more can we say !

We visited here last night myself, my husband and our 2 children and we was greeted by lovely staff, the food was so tasty, was big portions and all homemade, very good prices too the kids loved it. We highly recommend The Beach House Cafe and would definitely be back next time we are in town.

I love this cafe the staff are so nice. The food was lovely with a great portion. The price was considerably cheap compared to most others on the sea front. It was lovely and clean even the toilets! Was clean and didn't stink of wee which is great when your a germaphobe lol I was even honoured enough to name one of her new desserts which by the way was amazing!! I love it will visit everytime we go to yarmouth. They're not given as much recognition as the deserve 5***** all the way xxx

Dropped in whilst walking along seafront in the morning with my wife, and decided to have fried breakfast when I saw it advertised on the menu board was dejicious

Today me and my wife fancy a fry up but not this greasy one, it was bland, greasy, horrible, no taste, it was served quickly but felt it was cook all in one pan, AVOID THE FRY UP AT ALL COST. However i haven't tried the other food on the menu but i wont be returning if the fry up was like that.

Excellent staff working in this sea front cafe. Friendly with great service. The food is excellently priced, and there is a good choice. In particular the choice of cakes is outstanding.

Great priced food, 2 fish and chips, and 2 c&b burgers and chips and 4 cans of drink for under £25, good portion size, the chips are fish and chip style very tasty, and the burgers are also like a slightly better version of burgers you get from burger vans along beach front, very tasty, only down side is the tight seating, the staff are friendly, but like I say not the most comfortable seating and no air con (which is understandable) but means it gets very hot inside.but the positives far outweigh the negatives and will definitely eat here again.

Excellent food all homemade and lovely friendly service myself and my very large family ate at the beach house every night for dinner and myself and my children ate breakfast there every morning.

It was a very friendly place to eat, cheap and cheerful.Service can not be faulted at all...however what put me off a little was when the owners let someone in with a dog, I'm sorry but this is an eating place...if the owner was blind, which he wasn't then fair enough...but don't really want to eat in a place that allows pets.

This is everything a café on the promenade should be! Welcoming, nice staff, vast menu, set out like a café/chip shop. We had read reviews and had no hesitation in eating dinner there on our visit to Great Yarmouth.The food was just as we expected it to be, lovely fish and chips. One of us had curry and chips and that was nice. Nice cup of tea too! Banana fritter with cream and caramel sauce - yummy.Really good food and great value. I'm pleased we searched out where to eat in advance as there's one café after another and they all look very similar. Visit this one - you won't be disappointed!

We always visit the Beach House when we come to Great Yarmouth on our annual holiday. The cafe is bright and cheerful although can get a bit warm. There's no need for menus on tables because there are large menu boards clearly on display behind the counter. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is fairly priced and very filling. I had the liver on our last visit and it was really tender, I think the best I've ever had.

I try to come as often as I can, as it's a must visit when in town. The staff are so lovely and the food and hot chocolates are always so yummy! Have been visiting for such a long time, and will continue to.

A great place for a light snack. On the sea front, there are few good quality venues serving just light snacks. Although there are good venues serving more substantial fayre.The prices are very reasonable, a very good selection and the service was prompt, The attention to the cleaning and maintenance of the café was outstanding. Sea front venues don't have to be scruffy and run down and this one proves that. Well done

We stopped in here for breakfast. The staff were delightful, the food was great and the atmosphere was wonderfully seaside. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

We returned to The Beach House café this Easter becoming great fans last year! We were greeted like old friends and made to feel really welcome. Also introducing family members this year who were equally as impressed. There is a great choice of food, and dietary requirements were met with no problems. They are one of the only cafes that serve lactose free milk which is fantastic for my husband. We ate there every day of our break and look forward to returning when we visit Great Yarmouth again! Thank you fro looking after us so well :)

I would like to start off this review by saying that I have been going to Beach House Cafe in Great Yarmouth since I was about 5 or 6 years of age. The staff at Beach House Cafe are really friendly and they have always have made me feel welcome from the very first visit when I was a child. I used to be a very fussy eater and I only used to have one meal when I was out somewhere. I used to put in a special order for "2 pieces of Bacon and 2 Pieces of Toast" and even though it wasn't on the Menu, they still made this meal for me and cooked it to perfection. The Beach House Cafe is very clean and Tidy and they have just recently done a referb which looks stunning. I will always visit this Cafe when ever I go to Great Yarmouth for my Holidays.

Had a great 3 course meal here for £8.50. Right on the seafront. Plenty of choice and very clean premises.

Our short holiday break is almost at an end and we found a little gem to have our 'Last Supper' so to speak. Pity we found the beach house cafe so late into our holiday as I'm sure we would have eaten there more than once. Excellent food at a very reasonable price and friendly efficient staff. Coffee was reasonably priced too. It's a 9 out of 10, provision of tartare sauce would have given the beach house 10/10 but wasn't obvious if they had it or not all other condiments were easily found so assumed not available. I had plaice, chips and mushy peas via the 3 course menu offer at £8.50, I started with minestrone soup which was very nice to start with, followed by main (plaice) and finally apple crumble with custard. Sharon had the lasagne chips and salad. Great 'plaice' to eat and drink. Would return if around the area in future back to Ches Vegas tomorrow.

We visited this cafe following a recommendation from a family friend and we were very pleased by what we found. We didn't eat the first time we visited, however we went back for food the following day. The staff were very helpful, chatty and friendly and remembered us from the day before. The prices were extremely reasonable, two adult meals and a children's meal with drinks came to around £16. The portion sizes were generous. I had home made steak pie which was really delicious. My husband had fish and it was huge! The chips were super yummy too. They have a fab selection of cakes which were equally as nice. The cafe is also dog friendly and welcome well behaved dogs on leads. I would definitely recommend this cafe when you visit great Yarmouth.

Seen a few bad reviews on here about service etc and I dont understand why. Its a 'cafeteria' so you dont expect table service!! The girl that served us seemed happy and she was polite and patient when we came in with 3 naughty children! The food is good. Big portions for good prices, great for a quick bite when you're out and about. Cant fault them at all!

I know everyone has a difderent opinion on "great food" but we have been here twice and love it dont get me wrong its not the ritz and you get what you pay for!But you get great portion sizes and not to cheap or to expensive lets remember this place is located opposite the beach not up town and not expecting you to wear a suit and tie if your looking for somewhere to fill you up and not break the bank yoir at the right placeKeep up the good work guys and we will definitely see you again x

Nice family restaurant we didnt.have my daughter with us but she would have loved it due to the ice cream they had on offer. Big portions not best quality but worth the.money. very attentive staff too. Would visit again.

Budget family meal. Would have paid few more £`s to have service and menu's at table i/s/o looking at over-head boards like I'm at the chippy. Asked for pint of coke and got pointed at the cans of pepsi. Glass optional. That said our group of ten ate for much less than £100. And with that in mind, honestly could not find fault with food. Gammon egg n chips for fiver-ish.

I walked into the café to find very miserable staff who weren't listening to my order properly i had to repeat it twice, and they did not smile, when my food was brought over the young lad didn't talk or smile, It was very sad to experience when it had good ratings i had a messed up order with extra than what i ordered. such a horrid atmosphere to experience, wont be eating there again.

Visited this cafe for the last 4 years running and the food and service is still great. We have used for both breakfast and evening meal and we will be using again before we leave this year. Clean freindly and good food at decent prices.

Very nice food in a friendly cafe, staff all helpful and pleasant, potions large and good value, would recommend to others, you get more than you expect to for the very cheap price,
