Close to the beach but wildly overpriced for really basic fare and their “artisan gelato” is disgusting. We tried three flavours and they were all terrible, but the chocolate was so atrocious we couldn’t finish it. Ask yourself when the last time you didn’t finish an ice cream was!

Ridiculously overpriced coffee served by sullen woman with all the personality of a turnip. Situated right on the road side to attract unsuspecting people coming off the beach or driving past. Much better alternatives locally.

Went to the cafe after a stroll on the beach. Ordered a couple of teas and quorn sausage rolls. Wow. The rolls were enormous and piping hot. The seating area upstairs is lovely, bright and clean. Service was quick and attentive. All in all a positive experience.

Great seating upstairs looking over the sea what a shame about the food bacon sausage and egg bap more like charcoal sausage frazzled bacon & an egg so hard you could use it as a golf ball! Please don't waste your money not cheap either..

Visited after a dip and had to wait 15 minutes for two coffees. The service was appalling from the girl serving me. Whilst I was waiting, another customer came back because the food she had ordered was raw in the middle. The same girl serving was rude and accusatory. There was no apology during the whole exchange. Save your time, money, and patience and avoid!

Appalling food. Avoid. V expensive and not fit to eat. Plainly only exists for venue and tourists. I need to write more before I post. I can’t. I am simply warning people about a terrible scam of a place. Is this enough words now ?

Very, very overpriced for sandwiches, drinks, snack's & hot drinks. Have to wait so long that by the time you do receive your food you have gone past the point of wanting it. So disappointing as other than pasties it seemed a perfect place to have lunch.

£7.00 for 2 tins of coke, a Kit-kat and a Twix. Make your own mind up but I think it's obscene to charge this much and won't be using Beach Box again

If I could rate this 0 star I would. My partner and I went here after a long 15km walk, as we went just out of peak season not many places were open so we were relieved when we found somewhere that was serving food however it was extremely disappointing. The member of staff serving was rude from beginning to end & I am not sure why they are customer facing & doing a job they clearly hate, we were ignored for the first 5 minutes & when we were acknowledged as lots of options on the menu were either out of stock or not available I asked what she did have and I got a very rude response just to look at the board, the rudeness continued until we took our food away. Despite being told they weren’t busy we were given the wrong drinks and food was awful. Another couple waiting were ignored for so long they just walked off and we wish we did also! We stayed as we were starving!! I dread to think what it would have been like if they were busy! Avoid at all costs!

Yet another rude Cornish resident who shouldn’t be involved in customer service. Due to there not being anywhere else open for a light snack we persevered with the 15 minute wait for a Tuna Melt. No interaction or explanation from the girl behind the counter except for a sign being plonked on the counter saying catching up with orders. The guy in front of us had walked off and his mate also waited for ages for his order while she did her paper work. Multi tasking would be be an idea to consider!! Bearing in mind this was December and very off peak i would imagine in summer you would have to order at breakfast to get lunch. The only good thing to say was that the sandwich when it came was really good.

If you are ready for a minimum of 30 to 40 minutes wait for a couple of cups of coffee - do NOT waste your time. Too many trendy drinks and “ allergy” requests from customers. Only two members of staff flitting left right and centre trying to cook the Bacon Sausage Egg Baps etc etc. I only wanted 2 Coffees but the 2 members of staff weren’t capable of servicing the requests. Lost the will to live!!!!

Quiche inedible, grey watery spongy and old inside. and not quiche. Veggie and non-veggie food mixed up - beware. Website total nonsense as nothing was available and couldn’t order in advance as is the main selling point. Wouldn't bother with this place; go somewhere more reliable.

Ordered lunch for the 5 of us and sat ourside. Waited 40mins for 5 sarnies and still no joy. When the waitress served two families that had come in after us first it was clear they had forgotten the order. No apology when challenged. Even forgot a jug of water for the table on the drinks order after saying "i'll bring it right out".. i know time moves slower in cornwall but thats ridiculous. Sad thing is i cant remember anything about the food at all just that we wont be popping in next year when we are back. Maybe a one off but will stay clear for now.

It's great to find quirky and innovative cafes like this. Minimal indoor seating, but plenty on the lovely roof terrace. Bit chilly and windy when we visited. They also do take-away. The food is really tasty and reasonably-priced.

Basically a small compact open air terrace above a converted building, think it may have been the old toilet block, my apology if I've got this wrong.Nicely renovated.Inside there is a stairway which opens up to a small service counter and preparation area, hardly any space for anything else. The external terrace looks over the road but sadly its raised setting fails to catch a glimpse of the lovely beach. Worryingly the other view seems to inadvertently focus in on the wash and changing yard for the local surfing school, a little embarrassing. Best to avert your gaze to the packed out car parks beyond. There are some nice wooden tables on the terrace but they've crammed too many into the available space which means people struggle to get seated or worse still, get out again.Coffee and sandwiches were decent enough, slightly cheaper than standard excessive Cornwall prices. Can't really blame the cafe for out of control screaming kids running amok, usual poor parenting syndrome.Apart from the brats and people getting washed across the way it was a good little cafe offering decent stuff, economically priced in a quirky attractive design.

We were on holiday and ended up eating here 3 times. We had our dog who typically was nervous in eating places so we never bothered eating out, we were given a table in the corner and asked for the same one every time which they obliged as she was settled, it helped that the staff were all so helpful and the food was so nice, would highly recommend the Pityme Inn and we will visit again, it made our holiday
