Scampi and chips estaba caliente y bien, pero no volverá. Toda la zona del café necesita una renovación.

My Boyes must be turning in his grave at how shabby the cafe is being run. We have visited a few times over the last few years but will give up now. Many (not all) staff are unfriendly & look miserable. The food was receiving lots of complaints over being cold & not up to much! The dragon on the till (Sat 22 June at 3.10pm) has clearly not heard of customer service. Poor lack of choice with teas, nothing decaf or herbal, There is so much potential to this place, especially the views but it feels like it is being left to rot. Such a shame

I go here regularly for their famous steak pie. Never had a bad meal there. Steak pie, chips and peas with gravy has always been very, very tasty and nice. Totally lean steak (no gristle or fat) and delicious gravy. Great meal and good value. I can recommend the tea as well. Nice cuppa and you get 3 cups of tea out of the pot for £1.90. The restaurant has great views over the bay on one side, and a much larger seating area with nice views over the town. There's also a really interesting museum within the restaurant, that shows the history of Boyes department store.

So decided to give this place another try.I was there with my teenage grandaughter. She used to love the quiche, but was 2 bits left( approx 1-30 Saturday afternoon) The, what would have been lovely steak pie, was totally dried up.While I waited to be served ,saw a Bacon/egg sandwich being made up(should have walked out there and then!) 2 bits of sizzling overdone bits of bacon were being put into a bread bun ,which was upside down anyway, one of the slices fell out onto the top of the hot serving dishes, and picked up by hand(no tongs or gloves) and plonked onto said bread bun, then an overcooked egg (at least on the bottom) was passed through the serving hatch to be added! approx 4-5 butter packets were added to the plate and then taken to a table.I decided to get 2 sausage rolls and a portion of chips between us,and tea for two.just over £10. no cutlery apart from 2 knives and 1 fork. no teaspoons for our tea.Not one table had been cleared so had to move a dirty tray of stuff to another dirty table, before we could eat.Sausage roll ok, chips usual rubbish .Tea was good! although had to stir sugar in with a dessert spoon! would definitely not recommend this place. disgusting.

We love this cafe! The views are amazing, tables are well spaced out, no background music so it is lovely and peaceful. Food is amazing value and very tasty. Called in at 12-15 noon, wasn't sure what I wanted until I got there and decided, I looked at the cooked food and opted for just a slice of lemon meringue and tea for one. I had seen the food and how it was kept warm, the bacon was in a sort of liquid(god knows what) somebody's eggs were being kept warm till their meal was ready to put on a plate and slid off to join the 2 bits of bacon beans and chips! Another meal was plated up of steak pie, the slice had been reheated and was dried up round the edges then covered with gravy.Yet there was a full fresh steak pie showing on the counter. There were only 2 women serving both either taking food to tables or taking orders. this is on a busy lunch time! My meringue was lovely as was the pot of tea but not cheap! Lots of tables needed clearing.

The cafe is on the top floor of the store. It has two seating areas, one with some sofas, easy chairs etc, the other with more basic tables and chairs. The views are fantastic, over the bay and sea to the south and the town to the north. No fancy coffees, cappuccino etc, in fact very traditional fare. I had a toasted tea cake and a black coffee, very enjoyable. There were breakfast type meals available, also steak pie, scampi, quiche. I didn’t have time for a meal, but the steak pie looked very good. Staff were friendly and the place was kept clean.

We were the first to order two breakfasts but we waited a good 20 minutes for it to be plated up from the heated counter. The bacon was only just warm and only just cooked not at all crispy. The rest of the stuff on the plate was average, the egg was about the best. Cheap quality toast which had already had a scraping of some kind of spread on it, it's a good job I like buttered toast! The pottery cruet sets on most of the tables had sauce and greasy marks on them. I would not recommend this cafe, sorry but the staff need to get their act together.

On Tuesday my husband and I found ourselves both free from work whilst the children were at school. There was nothing for it but a little trip up to the Bayview cafe in Boyes. This place is simply the best cafe in the whole wide world. Up on the top floor with sweeping views of Bridlington south Bay and also to the north and east... The selection of food is wholesome, hearty, well priced, home made - and just plain old fabulous. You can keep your pretentious Emperor's New Clothes rubbish; this is the real and honest Yorkshire deal. The staff are gorgeous. All gentle Yorkshire souls. Before Christmas we heard one of the servers, Gail I think, having the most tender and gentle conversation about what she should choose to eat. The poor lady was struggling.. What kind of sandwich should she have? She had ham last Tuesday... She had cheese in the fridge.. Tuna didn't agree with her... Never have I seen such a lovely exchange as Gail patiently and cheerfully helped her through the myriad of possibilities. The customer left thoroughly happy with her choice, and Gail seemed genuinely happy that she had been able to help. It was a beautiful thing to watch.

We have lived in Bridlington for over a year now and visited Boyes cafe many times. The food is good. The prices very reasonable, and I do enjoy their steak pie. The view over the bay is a nice bonus. Unfortunately I always find that the queue is long and moves very slowly. I cannot decide whether they need more staff or just better organisation. The same member of staff takes your order, serves your food (or orders it from the kitchen) takes your payment and often ends up bringing the remainder of your order to your table. This is very inefficient and the poor staff must end up walking miles. The result is a long wait standing in a long queue. If this could be rectified I would increase my rating and the frequency of my visits.

There was plenty of tables and although there were many people there we sat near the window overlooking the resort. We had a substantial breakfast and tea and cake later in the day and the service was very good.

Breakfast was certainly not outstanding but was adequate with the exception of the sausages (overcooked and not great quality) - unfortunately my daughter chose a sausage sandwich which turned out to be a poor choice. Delivery to the table took approx. 15 minutes (a liitle bit too long ?? you decide !). Not the worst breakfast ever and views of Bridlington are breathtaking !

Went for breakfast. Good value and cooked fresh. Sausages let it down as they were so over cooked they were hard with no meat left in them! Daughter had sausage sandwich so was disappointed as couldn't eat it, but the vanilla schmoo milkshake made up for it. The views are amazing and the museum was a nice surprise. This is a hidden gem in brid and I am sure more could be made if it. Will go back though and try something else.

Gorge yourself on their fantastic steak pie, chips/mash & veg - all freshly made and cooked to perfection! Been coming in here since Boyes took over from Hammonds and the standard of the food has never wavered - great stuff!

When we visit Bridlington we always go to the cafe in Boyes. It’s such good value and the kids love looking out of the window and seeing the beach. There is plenty of choose and kids meals at reasonable prices.

We spend lots of time shopping here when we visit Bridlington each year. It reminds us of Woolworths in many ways. There are four floors to browse around one floor is where the cafe is situated. Their meals are lovely and not expensive either. Their clothing and shoes are reasonably priced as are the childrens section. You could spend a morning looking around the store and can always find what your looking for, we love it. The staff are always happy to help you if needed. But don't take my word for it, next time your in Bridlington town centre go have a look around Boyes you won't be disappointed.

I have often eaten in Boyes cafe and noticed both the service and the food deteriorating! There is definatly not enough staff -while they are all very obliging and friendly, the whole set up is ridiculous!I stood in a queue of approx 20 yesterday at turned 1 o clock.1 person actually serving from dishing the food ,that was already prepared,to passing orders through the serving hatch, making the drinks and then having to take the money, then going on to the next person. One worker was bringing out the food that had been ordered. While the pies/pastry are always top notch the chips are revolting oven type dry and half cold! the sausauge which I had was tasty but as tough as old boots.so glad I dont eat veg, it looked bloshy to say the least, neither I nor the couple at the next table enjoyed our food and most was left!Think I will avoid in future.

We regularly use the cafe when shopping in Bridlington. Good prices with 'home cooked' style cafe food. Only drawback is that the lift to the top floor is VERY slow, both in actual spend and having to wait for it to actually arrive. Not a problem if you don't mind climbing three floors.

Looking at reviews for Boyes lots rating on the retail side goods not food. We called on Sunday i had Sunday dinner which was very poor, poor choice for dinner mostly out of a can or packet, beef tough tasteless, greens were green beans, tinned or frozen carrots, no mash potatoes just roast potatoes. Sweet the worse apple crumble I've ever come across, hardly any crumble topping, tasteless custard. Wife's meal was just as bad, had scampi, not whole tail scampi the mushy reformed kind, chips dry oven type. Had better Sunday carvery dinners and at a better price, found Boyes dinner way overpriced, didn't call again. Couldn't fault the staff, place was clean and tidy loads of room and good view.

..the department store is awesome, we always go when we're in Brid.First time visiting the restaurant, I think the amazing views are only for really tall people cos couldnt see anything when I was sat down and standing up, looking out the window I could see the sea in the distance but an awful lot of building roofs! If the windows went to the floor it would be much better. We ordered a bacon butty, a sausage and bacon butty and 2 teas that cost just short of a tenner. The bacon had quite obviously just been kept warm for hours, it was dry and hard, but the tea was a decent brew. The girl who served us was friendly, smiley and polite. I'd go again for a cuppa and maybe a meal but wouldnt have breakfast butties again.

We went on a quiet Sunday afternoon out of season because the previous review said they allowed the dog to go inside. I asked if we could take the pup in and sit out of the way in the corner. The lady said no sorry I don’t allow dogs in at all.

This cafe is now called Miss Bs pantry. Very friendly ladies and delicious food. As a coeliac myself I have to have gluten free. This is very well catered for here so my partner and I have visited on numerous occasions.Various selection of savoury dishes and cakes. Lovely latte too. Well worth a visit.

We had lunch at The Potting Shed with family. This was a return visit, and we think it’s the best garden centre restaurant in the area. Soup was carrot and coriander (delicious, could’ve eaten more!), sandwiches were very fresh, and the haddock and chips were delicious. Restaurant is very clean and well laid out, tables not too close together. I’m sure we’ll be back!

Niño amable, acogedor. Siempre una excelente pinta y un montón de ofertas de bebidas disponibles. Jardín de cerveza que es seguro y cerrado para los niños para jugar.

On behalf of a relative who visited yesterday. Small fish, really greasy. Trading under Thompson’s name but nowhere near the quality. Cash only which is an inconvenience. Won’t be returning.
