Bayleaf Wine Bar & Restaurant in Cheshire East

We have just moved to the area and we decided to go out for tea. We had the Sunday special offer and with the price was not expecting the food to be great but we were all seriously impressed. The food was all quickly brought to the table, very tasty and we were asked about our drinks being topped up before we were finished which we’ve found isn’t always a guarantee at restaurants. The wait staff and owner were so friendly and our meal was of good quality and flavour.

Lovely food and even better people. Would highly recommend for a nice evening out, especially In and around Bollington/ Macclesfield.

This first-floor restaurant is light, bright and airy. No flock wallpaper anywhere in sight, just a lot of diners (many obviously local, most of whom, the staff seemed to know by name) enjoying a great Friday evening, out, in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The welcome from the waiters was warm, the Cobra nicely cold and the food was amazing, with quite a few dishes we didn't recognise. Without exception, it all tasted absolutely wonderful with a great balance of spices and flavours - we both agreed that it was one of the best meals we'd had for a long time. Make sure you bring your appetite, though, because the portions are anything but small! Service was attentive without being intrusive and was everything you'd expect in a restaurant that knows what it's doing and understands its customers. Very highly recommended if you happen to be in Bollington or nearby

The food was amazing, so tasty and reasonably priced. The staff were very attentive. Will definitely be returning to try other dishes.

Worst butter chicken I've tasted. Watery and padded with coconut. No cream or spice at all. Absolutely no flavour. There was a layer of water at the bottom. Chicken was thin shredded fatty strips that tasted weird. Was also expensive for what it was. Staff were grumpy and sat at the front of the restaurant on their phones. Edit: this made us both very sick afterwards as well. Thanks for ruining our holiday.

Stayed in Hollin house for 2 nights had a meal at the hotel the first night and was not impressed so googled places near to eat out . Was not disappointed with the bay leaf restaurant. Staff where lovely and welcoming , location was good with palking off road around the back of the restaurant. And the food was pretty amazing , could not manage to eat all of our meals which where of a good portion, so we took the remainder with us . Very reasonably priced and excellent service . Would 100% recommend this establishment.

We went into the restaurant for a family dinner and had a wonderful meal. The food was fresh and delicious. The service was great and everyone was friendly. The restaurant was spotless, with comfy seats and it was lovely and warm. Would highly recommend!

The Bayleaf is such a lovely place with fresh, flavoursome food and friendly, attentive staff. We're always made to feel so welcome. The Sunday offer of four courses for £14.95 is amazing value in this day and age, particularly when you taste how fresh and delicious the food is! I've been visiting the Bayleaf since it opened in 2006 and the quality never wavers, it's always an absolute feast for the senses! It's such a tough time for Independent businesses at the moment and they really need our support. We'll be back without question!

We used to visit a couple of times a year in the old premises before we moved away 6 years ago. Having come back to visit family, we decided to try the new restaurant. We received a warm friendly welcome and were seated immediately. The service was as polite and friendly as ever. The food was reasonably priced and excellent with appropriate breaks between courses. The owner was constantly checking that all was running smoothly. Our bill for 3 which included a couple of rounds of Cobras and lots of food was just over £100. We will definitely be back when we next stay over in the area.

Booked for a Boxing Day meal. Food and service was exceptional and great value. There wasn't much atmosphere, but the place was packed and we had a great evening. Will definitely be going back.

Firstly all the staff are so welcoming they can't do enough to help you if there is something u want that slightly different on the menu they will do their best to do it for u. Secondly the food is absolutely amazing on every visit we had been the food has been outstanding, well worth the visit we now go every week even though we live 40 minutes away. It's the best. Well done to all at the Bayleaf keep doing what u do best.

You know you've had an outstanding meal when you are finding excuses to visit Bollington again, and you have absolutely no reason too! Everything about our meal was outstanding, the starters were delicious and the meat very tender. The carries were both tasty, good sized portions with lots of meat and just as hot as we expected. Good drinks choice and friendly service. The decor is lovely too. We will be returning, the good folk of Bollington are very lucky to have this on their doorstep!

Just perfect! Food was outstanding, service great but not too much... very attentive without 'hovering'! The smell of fesh paint in the stairs would suggest the place is newly decorated, and it is lovely. Will defo be back... I recommend the lamb tikka zalzala!

The best curry I've had all year! Absolutely gorgeous, chicken pakora, the tikka on the platter was melt in the mouth perfect. Light fluffy peshwari nan was out of this world and the chicken tikka naga roaring hot and spicy but packed with flavour, couldn't fault it. Friendly service, spotless clean and well presented. Will be worth making the trip from Bury specially for a revisit.

Sublime restaurant with perfect food. From the chicken pakora to the tikka starter it was perfectly cooked. The naga was fiery hot and packed with flavour, peshwari nan was sublime and the service was awesome, friendly but not intrusive, perfect. Place was spotless and well presented in all areas. Hopefully get a chance to revisit from Bury when in the area. A1 5*

My Partner and I visited the restaurant last week. This we can honestly say is the best Indian meal that we have ever had. Everything was perfect. The staff are very attentive and pleasant and we didn’t feel rushed. We would definitely recommend The Bay Leaf because we would like everyone to enjoy it as much as we did .

Just returned from a wonderful meal tonight. All food was really fresh and cooked to a high standard. Have not visited the Bayleaf since the refurbishment and was very impressed. Staff all lovely and the owner very welcoming. See you again very soon!

Working down here and just ordered stuff near us. Disappointed with a selection that cost £65 the aloo was mushy and potatoes eere to big only 3 of them full halfs ,curries tasted too similar to each other prob down to base gravy spicy onions which I love to make my self were very disappointing no flavour or colour. Peshawar nan was good.

Without a doubt the best Indian I have had, presentation was excellent, service was excellent, price was excellent but above all, the food was sooooo good, will definitely be back.

Took daughter in tonight as a treat (can't believe we havent taken her befire) she absolutely loved it as we do. Staff so lovely and attentive.Called in tonight as we forget Wednesday is Mr Sayed's day off and we miss his cheery smile and warm welcome.All staff give you that but he has the edge :-) Food is excellent ,it is always so hard to pick. First for us tonight was the Kulchi naan ( lovely crisp bottom and sublime ),it was delicious alongside our regular peshwari naan. Food is top notch and so much we always over do it but it is so nice and tasty.Bar has been set and we find when we go away it's really difficult to hit the standard.Its hard to recommend something as we have never been disappointed, flavours are just spot on and sauces yummy Thank you all.

Great restaurant serving excellent Bangladeshi and Indian cuisine at a very reasonable price. A great welcome from Foysol Syed (proprietor) and ably attended by Alom. About the only restaurant open in Bollington on Mondays so recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

Always a pleasure to visit the Bayleaf for a tasty curry treat 😋 The owner and his staff go out of their way to welcome us every time, their service and manner is courteous, respectful, quick, and always, always pleasant. They went out of their way to assist my 92yr old Dad out of the restaurant and deliver him safely to the car which they insisted I bring right up to the door to pick him up. Both of us always feel looked after when we go there and the food is absolutely delicious.

Trying to find a good Indian restaurant we tried here. It started badly to begin with, the entrance was like an office block, and no atmosphere in the restaurant itself. FYI football tops, trainers etc seemed to be normal here. The menu wasn't anything special unless you liked extremely spicy things. The service was too over attentive, lots of staff talking in two's/stood round laughing or doing nothing. I have had lots of curries and this wasnt up there, not bad but nothing special. I noticed how many tables were empty for a Saturday night. I will definitely not be going back.

Very widerange in the menu, had dine for 2 package, great starters and butter chicken was fantastic. Staff were great, on hand to help and very friendly. Interior decor is very nice and creates a marvellous atmosphere.

What an outstanding Indian restaurant this place ticks all the boxes and some more. Wonderful attentive staff excellent seating and layout and amazing food. Nothing to fault and everything to praise. The restaurant is located on the first floor and as well as the stairs there is a disability lift installed to provide easy access. Carparking is also provided at the rear. Recommended to all.

This was our first time visiting the Bayleaf Lounge based on other TripAdvisor reviews and we were pleasantly surprised. Staff were very welcoming, polite and attentive, the atmosphere was lovely and the food was delicious. We’ll definitely be back.

We had a great evening, the staff were friendly and efficient and the food was excellent. The portions are generous and for us sharing a starter and then having a main each would have been a better option. Opting for poppadoms, starters and mains we both really enjoyed our meals, the chicken shashlick karahi was delicious.

Our second visit to this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint - the popadoms were fresh and the pickle tray very tasty - The fish pakoras and lamb chop starters were beautifully cooked and really flavoursome . The mains of Bhuna and Karahi were wonderful the breads were light and the rice exceptional. Service again was amazing unrushed and professional. Highly recommended

Me and my partner had our valentines meal here. The staff are very attentive. Really friendly and it’s such a nice experience all round. We made use of the offer they had on and we swapped the bottle of wine for a beer, a soft drink and a naan bread. Nothing is a problem, food comes out piping hot and is absolutely delicious. Will definitely return.
