Knutsfords best kept secret and the best curry I've ever tasted. Consistent and delicious shamoli takes the number 1 spot for my favourite place to eat in knutsford. A fantastic and welcoming place, Hasan and Khan always make sure your table has everything you need and are ever present, polite and efficient. Big love to this place and it's staff, can't recommend it enough.

An amazing meal on Christmas Day, staff were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Very accommodating with the children too! A fabulous meal definitely a new Christmas tradition!!

Second time coming here and I can honestly say it's the nicest Asian food I have ever eaten. The reason I say this is one dish in particular - Tamarind chilli chicken. It's beyond sensational. It's depth of flavour is quite incredible, moving between sticky, sour, sweet and umami. We also had starters and both agreed they were excellent. I love a good onion bhaji and mine tonight were beautifully crisp and moreish. After chatting with both Kahn and Hassan I have come to learn that the food here is Bangladeshi, not Indian. These two lovely young men served us last time and will be a second reason why I will go back. They are polite and very welcoming, funny, sparky and warm. I can see this becoming my favourite place to come to in Knutsford. Probably the fairest price around too. Top drawer stuff

Great to get back to Shamoli after quite a long gap. We love this restaurant - my wife and I have been eating here for almost 17 years, including on our first date! We should go more often, but it’s not easy when life is always busy. The staff are great - always friendly, and genuinely glad to see us. The food was amazing - the chefs never disappoint. It’s no wonder they have been nominated for an award - they deserve to win!

Lovely food and friendly service

Ordered for pick up and asked to confirm that the Sheek Kebab was dairy free at pick up (as it is marked on the menu) because my son has a milk allergy. Turns out it’s not…. good thing I asked. All I got was a lecture from the guy (who was just rude) and still had to pay for the kebab and an additional onion bhaji that seems to actually be dairy free… but obviously not great for a 2 year old. Also, they threw a second Vegi Bhaji onto the bill when I ordered 1. We ordered one of everything else…. All around unpleasant and expensive experience.

We tried the £18 special and overall unfortunately were very disappointed. The starters after poppadoms were good, onion bahjis looked the buisness though far from the best in flavour. The mixed grill was small as to be expected, though this was very tasty. The mains is where it all fell apart, lack lustre pilau rice, very bland tasting modhu, just sweet and creamy with no real flavour. Although the chicken was nice. Overly hot Bhuna, probably the best of the three mains, as the lamb was melt in your mouth just the sauce again no real flavour. The Biriyani was awful, tiny ammount of sauce which seemed to be full of left over veg, it tasted just hot and horrible, apart from the omelette. Oh and the chefs special extra side was more on the turn veg in a sauce, literally could taste it was off. That smell you get when a bag of supermarket ready prepped veg in a bag is well past its sell by date and going soft in places. I would be embarresed to serve anyone these dishes. Shame as parts of it were good, like the service which was prompt, friendly and welcoming. Come on Shamoli, you can do better, being Knutsfords No1 Indian.

Decided to give the Sunday special a try, at £17.95. Excellent service and quality of food. Papadums and pickles to start, any starter, any main (we had chicken masala). Also given a chickpeas dish as well. Rice and lovely Nan bread completed the deal (and a coffee if you wanted it!). Good quality chicken and well presented. Added bonus, a pint of Cobra for £5.50. Would recommend.

Came across this delightful place by accident, but what an excellent discovery! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was relaxed and the service was again first class, friendly staff, efficient delivery of food …all extremely positive.

We wanted a bite to eat in Knutsford and came across this place that had space for us as everywhere else seemed fully booked! Couldn't fault the service and the food was brilliant. Decor is a little dated but if you can see past that the staff and food were 5/5! I would go back

A very tasty meal. Not easily accessed as it’s downstairs. But you could tell it was a good one as it was busy. The gentleman serving were lovely and friendly and kind. There was a moment with two drunk men misbehaving but they did not make a fuss but got them out quietly and were super polite to them. They were so apologetic to us when they didn’t need to be. I was very impressed with them and their food. We got the set vegetarian meal and it was such good value.

We have recently moved to the area and wanted to try our first Indian meal. We decided on the Shamola based on price as 4 of us were dining. We were welcomed with a smile and seated quickly. Hassan and his staff were very attentive and advised on dishes as we went for their banquet menu which is available on Thurs/Sunday only and is priced at £17.95 each, trust me this is an incredible deal! The food arrived and it was just incredible, great sized portions and full of flavour - well presented too! I could go on but won’t as don’t want to spoil it for you so just try this place out! Enjoy!

Superb flavour and excellent portions. Service was tremendous - old fashioned super attentive and polite staff. Empty glasses attended to immediately. Our group agreed this was the best Indian dining we had had in a long time.

We've always liked Shamoli over the years due to the good food and great service. The past 2 or 3 years they have raised their standards even higher. It's now Great food and great service. My fish garlic chilli machli was beautiful, with clean, separate spice flavours, instead of other curry restaurant's "base curry" blandness. The veg' rice was equally well flavoured, colourful & clean. My partner had her go-to butter chicken dish and said it was the best she'd ever had. Beautiful bhaji & naan are also top notch.

The restaurant was recommended to me by a local and I wasn’t disappointed. The excellent, friendly and attentive service was matched by the freshness, flavour and quality of the food. A very enjoyable experience and prices are reasonable too.

Lovely food, nice atmosphere! We travelled from North Wales to find a good Indian as we don’t have a decent one near us… Shamoli did not disappoint! We had the shearing plater to start, it was perfect, every item was lovely! The mains were tasty, the coconut rice was sweet and so nice to eat even on its own, the sauces were the right consistency and had taste and the vegetables in them were cooked so nicely as was the chicken. The chicken tikka masala was Not bright red… it was normal tomato coloured which is so refreshing to see! (Can’t stand artificial colours in food, no need for them but this didn’t seem to contain any) The naan breads were a nice side and tasted good! The staff were attentive and very nice, they a were friendly and made the place feel welcoming! Parking is right behind it too so you don’t have to walk far. We will be returning, definitely worth the drive!

What a fabulous discovery! My husband and I ate here for the first time and we will definitely go back. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. There is a fantastic menu, every dish that we tried was delicious. They have an excellent wine list; the wine was delicious and chilled perfectly.

We opted for this restaurant because it offers Nepalis cuisine along side the more traditional Asian cuisine from India. Don't be fooled by the very small and sparce appearance of the ground floor entrance, as the restaurant seating is downstairs... The restaurant is very pleasant and the staff are incredibly attentive, providing excellent advice and insight into the wide variety of dishes from the extensive menu. I would strongly recommend trying something different than your usual favourites, as the Chef's Recommendations and Signature Dishes are amazing. We opted for Tamarind Chicken Chilli and Chicken Tikka Nagpuri, both were absolutely fantastic! However, the Tamarind Chicken Chilli was so go, I was compelled to ask for the recipe, which the staff kindly provided, much to my surprise. No doubt it will take many attempts to refine it to anywhere near the standard enjoyed at the restaurant. Will certainly be returning for more of the wonderful dishes. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Early on a weekday in January so no issues with space as some reviewers have mentioned. It's downstairs, so in effect, no winter chill every time new customers enter the restaurant. Really good service and happy to let us chat whilst we decided on the food. Starter was excellent, I had the vegetable pakora. For main I had the Dall Sag Karahi Gost with really tender lamb, delicious. I'd been out for an Indian meal elsewhere over the weekend, also a very good standard, but I have to say this was 15 to 40% more expensive across the board. It is Knutsford after all. £3.50 for a coke so £7 for the two my mate had, ridiculous really. Definitely be back, Indian restaurant of choice in Knutsford.

Came here just before Christmas for an early Christmas get together with friends. As a curry lover I can say this was right up there with the best I have had. Thoroughly enjoyed it and look forwards to visiting again one day 😁

I usually go to margao but that is closed for the time being, so I thought I'd try Shamoli. I ordered a take out, Chicken pakora for starters, and lamb shashlik, onion rice and peshwari naan for mains. The pakora is different to what I'm used to, they're small minced balls and not very good. The shashlik was very salty, and the onion rice had a strange taste to it, and oily. While the naan was very undercooked that i needed to put it in my air fryer. On the whole I won't be going back and I don't recommend it

Had a saag karai and it was dull. Didn’t really taste of anything. Others had Kashmiri lamb which had been skewered to cook first. Equally dull. Shame really as Margao has gone and Eastern Revive is a bit ‘slurry’ curry.

Still the best restaurant in Knutsford. Try the chicken tikka biriyani and lamb rj. Good beer and wine, plus Saleh and the team give the nicest welcome in town too. Keep up the great work Shamoli!

A pleasant restaurant. The menu is very extensive. The food-is cooked and presented well The staff are very friendly and helpful. My only slight grumble is that the restaurant is downstairs and no windows so I find it a little claustrophobic.

Mediocre at best. Wouldn't call it a tasty meal that we had. Service was average and decor not particularly appealing. Sadly, won't be coming back.

The menu had all the usuals on it but a few extra unique dishes, the service was super friendly, very professional and super fast as we stopped in on the way back home to Scotland I would definetley recommend eating here fantastic value for money

Had been recommended to try …so first time visit tonight and the quality , the flavours, ambiance and friendliness and wonderful quantity we received was fantastic …highly recommended…you must try this little gem of a place . Up date on my last review had the most tasty Sunday deal meal again and normally I’m a small eater but ate and thoroughly enjoyed all that was served to us. Tha staff are so accommodating and so friendly and such a reasonable bill at the end and brought home enough for another meal. Highly recommend Shamoli once again .

We had a lovely meal tonight at the Shamoli in Knutsford. The staff were courteous and pleasant, the food was beautifully cooked and a class above most restaurants for Indian food - Subtle and delicate flavours in the Dopiaza and the Dansak curries. We'll certainly be back there on our next trip. Best to book in advance to avoid disappointment!

Only in Knutsford for a few days and what a find Shamoli was. Great service, excellent food and reasonably priced. I would recommend anyone passing through Knutsford to stop here, I guess the locals know about it already!

This is the best Indian restaurant near us. We live in Holmes Chapel about 10 miles away. We visit this restaurant frequently and have never had a bad meal. The staff are so friendly and the service is always good. What ever we choose from the menu it is always excellent. I highly recommend The Shamoli. We shall be visiting again this evening. Good restaurant and excellent service

Without a doubt, the best curry house in the north west of England!! We wouldn’t go anywhere else. They have the best friendly attentive staff and top notch food! My family request that we go to this restaurant every time they visit from Scotland.

In the local area for the first time and came across this through Google reviews. It was a Monday evening so quiet. Service was friendly and efficient, and the food was top notch. Highly recommended.

Best curry I’ve had for a long time

Good food, excellent service and fun atmosphere.

Our 1st visit to Shamoli & our first impressions were that we were both impressed with the decor & the friendly atmosphere. The waiter took our order & the Poppadums promptly arrived, they were light & crispy with the usual accompaniments, especially the Lime Pickle, which was the best I've had in some time. We shared the Chilli Lamb Chop starter, 3 good sized Chops (why do Lamb Chops never look like traditional Chops) they were tasty & had a proper zing to them 🌶 For mains, my wife had a mixed Lamb & Chicken Tawa, which she loved, I had a Lamb & Keema dish (I can't remember it's name) & it was delicious, ever so tasty, but sadly lacking the kick I was expecting. Both dishes were accompanied by Pilau Rice, but sadly not the Chilli Pilau I requested & whilst not on the menu, I was surprised they were unable to knock one up!! Excellent food & ambience & we will definitely return, despite it being a 45 minutes drive.

Popped in for evening meal, in area on business, small frontage, go down stairs to a lovely atmospheric restaurant, friendly guys, lots of choice, Try Akbori yum yum, best Indian food I've had, service is great, pricing, particularly for the area is very good. Will be back when I'm next over that way.

Sunday and Thursday they have a special offer menu, very good value for money. The rest of the week is not expensive either and food is excellent with very courteous staff.
