Visited the area and had a great delivery from the Bay Leaf. We all enjoyed the food and I found it nice and spicy. All our party enjoyed their meals. Was really pleased with the delivery and being able to order before they open for a timealot was excellent service. Thank you

Ordered a take away for the first time this evening and we was not disappointed. The food was so tasty good portions and the best meat we have had. Cooked to perfection so nice to have a take away and enjoy it as I usually have one and feel disappointed from other places. This is a new find for us and will for sure be returning again now we have found it well done bay leaf sensational flavours!!!!!

This has to be the best Indian takeaway for miles. The food is clean and tasty I have had at least 8 in the past 6 months. I can not recommend the food highly enough. The chef specialities are fabulous and the regular choices are just delicious. It is so reasonably priced and the delivery drivers are the nicest, friendliest drivers I have ever met. 5/5 for me. I will not order from anywhere else

Dodgy front door. Very nearly went to plentiful competition. Slow service from waiters but food was very good & plentiful. Don't think I will be a regular to eat in, but food is good.

DO NOT let your children go to the toilet on their own!! 2 of our teenage girls went together and the cubicle door in the women’s was being pulled from the outside and the lock attempted to be opened a number of times. We were the only table in the restaurant and upon asking, there were NO female staff working!!

We visit every few months to see our mother in law and every time we have ordered from the bay leaf it’s just a solid 10/10. I never usually do reviews but I feel this place deserves it! The dishes are full of flavour, fresh and done to perfection! Thank you for a wonderful meal, we will definitely be ordering next time we are in Oldham.

We usually use the Bay Leaf for takeaways and it has been a two or three years since we have eaten in but on a spur of the moment we went in and were shown to our table. I will start with the good point- all the food we had was excellent and if it was based on food alone it would have been a five star review. However the biggest change in the restaurant was the service which used to be second to none. It became clear very quickly that this is mainly used for takeaways now and that seemed to be the priority now. Takeaway drivers in and out. No music or ambience for diners. Poor service. Warm beer. Toilet door not working. Toilets dingy. Food took a long time to arrive but bags and bags of takeaway food going out all the time. As I said the food was delicious it was all just let down by the service and the lack of thought for diners in situ. We will use for takeaway but probably not visit again.

First time eating here on Saturday. Food was really good quality and will definitely dine here again.

Guys you were really poor tonight - thought we’d give you a try as we are based in Dobcross- Valentine’s Day after a walk , Arrived 5-45 meat samosa lacking meat - popadom Nice enough Curries never arrived after 45 minutes after starter / no staff on hand ( all upstairs?) Restaurant freezing - no one else in. Clearly you target take away rather than restaurant - can’t think of a reason to ever come back - can think of a few not to Had a decent meal / service at old bell Sorry :(

Our Morris Club had a delivery for 9 from here on Rushcart Saturday. The food was poor. None of the containers were labelled. The contents were a mystery. Most of it went to landfill which is a terrible waste. We will go elsewhere next time.

We ordered drinks from here-like we have numerous times before, however this time the delivery driver turned up at my door with a rude attitude almost angry at us, telling us that next time our card will be blocked if we don’t have a minimum order of £10, he kept repeating himself in a continuously rude manner. Just to clarify on JusEat it clearly states that there is £0 delivery fee and NO minimum order.

First time ordering from here. My dish was o.k, chicken was overcooked & rubbery. My husband's food tasted very bland. Not very impressed, unlikely to order again.

I have never eaten in but had a few takeaways when I've been at our friends in Diggle. Food is always really nice & very hot. I think always best to collect rather than opt for delivery as that can slow things down and end up with colder food. Overall though a good service!

Arrived to collect meal when advised to be told they has no salmon for my starter. Offered another fish dish which then had to be cooked. Food arrived at counter 10 mins late with poppadoms and dips which I had said I did not want. Left these on counter. Of arrival home horrified to find my Butter chicken had been replaced by brown sludge which by the label may have been a lamb madras.

Well jus moved in area n thought we would try Indian here.....we used to go aquilegia in mossley....well very disappointed..we ordered the tikka masalal..well it was awful..all we could taste was coconut which tasted like a korma.....colour was very bright red..unusual....it was like they used the korma sauce n made it red!!!not a good tikka.....very disappointed indeed...I know my Indian food and know what a tikka masala should taste like !!

What a lovely restaurant, just happened to bump into it whilst in Delph. My husband and I think it’s the best Indian food we have had. The chicken samber is fantastic and the naans are great, not stodgy like some places. Had 3 takeaways recently and will certainly be back. Well done guys!!

We ordered from here last night, we ordered the Simla lamb and rogan Josh and it was the worst Indian food we’ve ever had, the lamb was like rubber and the bay leaf special rice was dry and over cooked, both dishes had an over powering taste which was almost inedible with some sort of horrible spice. It’s not the first time we’ve had horrible food from here and probably won’t bother again.

Only ones in there which was a shame. Food is great as is the service.

Went here for a meal with my wife yesterday and it was lovely. Been here a few time and can't fault anything about it service,quality of food and price are all excellent.

We only live half a mile from the Bay Leaf so it should be our "local" curry place but, the last time we tried their food, around 5 or 6 years ago, the food was abysmal. We thought we would give it another go yesterday, 21/03/2021, just to find it hadn't improved. The main course I had tasted awful, with tough chicken and with a lot of oil (possibly Ghee) on top. My wife's wasn't any better! Our starter had really tough lamb with gristle in it. We only ate around 20% of all our dishes. We've learned our lesson and will NEVER go back. To cap it all, when I went to collect the food, there was another customer, with no face mask on, in the place who was standing at the bar, drinking a pint and chatting with a member of staff. I thought this was not allowed during lockdown?????

Have used twice now for takeaway and found it brilliant. Both times we went for the vegetarian meal for two. Fantastic tastes and variety and does us for two meals.

Had the freshest onions with popadoms, best I've ever had. The samosa was light and crispy as were the fries. Oh and the curry was so tasty. Well done the best around.

First time having a takeaway meal from The Bay Leaf in years. Food arrived promptly but was generally average in taste. Worst bit was finding not one, not two but three hairs in our meal. All in separate dishes. I dread to think how many were consumed before we realised...yuk

Enjoyed the food very much..nice and cosy restaurant. Service was spot on. kids loved their food. portion size was just right. Will come again.

well 14 of us came here and it was a cosy little place, the staff were friendly and helpful and there was a wide range of choice on the menu. they did seem to service the poppadum sauces in very small containers but when we asked for more there were no problem and the staff brought very large servings of a few. we only had a couple of poppadoms each and a main each I went back to an old favourite of a balti exotica which I have had at other restaurants. This has a combination of chicken, lamb and king prawn cooked in a medium spiced Balti sauce and this was accompanied with shared rice and naan breads. the food was nice and we had a couple of beers,it was a nice change and I would eat hear again. The decor of the restaurant was mostly nice , could do with filling in the wallpaper gaps though, there are a few pubs and one nice bar nearby too.

Tried after many years and it will be many more before we try again. Food when it came was reasonable in fairness , long wait , not too busy in restaurant but seems take away s come first! Apologies were made to all waiting customers, all were known to staff and were offered free drinks, one customer was offered a lift home , so I suppose good if they know you , I would think new customers matter too

Just had a meal from bay leaf in delph , omg unbelievable! Absolutely gorgeous especially the biriani dish and the starters are to die for , went on a golden triangle holiday around india , goa , Mumbai, 4years ago and bay leaf food is the same exceptional .

I ordered a curry from the app Just Eat. On the app it said 45 mins to delivery and it took an hour. I wouldn’t have minded but the food was cold and crap. Utter disappointment - don’t waste your money

Poor quality of food, delivered late and put chicken into a vegetarian tikka masala despite phoning up specifically requesting this & also Putting it in order notes on just eat. Called the restaurant to resolve the issue and they hung up on me several times. Poor food, poor service

Food arrives 2 hours late, lack of flavour and extremely dry. No veggie options, called to complain and was hung up on numerous times - wouldn’t visit

I called the restaurant before ordering to check that i could get vegetarian food there and from Just Eat. They told me to click chicken tikka masala and write in the comments that I wanted paneer tikka masala instead, which I did. The arrival of the food was late, and I was eating my paneer masala and noticed that it didn’t taste like paneer. It turns out it was chicken and paneer masala. So after 13 years of being a vegetarian I have eaten chicken and am now vomiting as a result. I called the restaraunt to complain and they hung up on me. Definite avoid. I will be going to trading standards and if this is not taken seriously will be taking legal action.

Very pleasant indeed. Excellent Bengali cuisine, presented well and with excellent service, unobtrusive and polite. Very nice range of dishes, perhaps a little light on the vegetarian side but plentiful, very tasty and just a little bit different. Small, tastefully decorated. A real find. Will definitely return.

Ordered takeaway curries from here to serve 6 of us. Great curry at £8 each, came to £64 with naan and rice on top. Really friendly staff and they threw in free poppadoms with our order. Very pleased!

This restaurant has a great variety of vegetarian options available. We had a lovely meal. The restaurant was very clean. Service was very good. Would definitely eat here again when we visit England.

Called in without a reservation and we were lucky to get a table as it is only small. Very good portions and really tasty especially with the citrus additions on the house specials. There were a lot of people coming in for take aways. This impacted on the service in the restaurant and we had to wait a bit too long between courses.

very disappointed it was a though the chief forgotten the spices in sheek kebab. no flavour in masala too

What a nice clean little Indian. The food was really good and tasty. I enjoyed my starters and mains, as did the other three I went with. Cobra beer on tap is always a plus point. Four starters, four mains with plenty of extras. Two rounds of drinks. And it all cane to £100. A bargain for the high quality of the food. My lamb dish was delicious with plenty of tender lamb in it.

Had countless takeaways over a number of years and the food never disappoints. Balti exotica is my personal favourite. Eaten in as well a few times and always had great service and amazing food.

Rather quiet but food and service was spot on as usual. The only thing I would say is that the King Prawn Jalfrezi could have been improved with a little more sauce. The portions are more than adequate and their take away service it brilliant. Piping hot food and portions huge.

First time in this restaurant, though have enjoyed takeaways. It was empty (raining outside...) but doing brisk takeaway business. The food was delicious, freshly cooked, very tasty, and large quantities, more than we could eat. Staff friendly. Only one criticism: they need. Better selection of non-alcoholic drinks. Will come here again

Nice place to go for a curry with friends. This restaurant offers a wide menu. We have eaten here numerous times over the years and never head bad meal. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is on the main street in Delph, close to the car park.

We've been here twice now and had lovely freshly cooked, large portioned curries. Excellent friendly service. Not many other people in the restaurant but that didn't bother us as we enjoyed our food. Reasonably priced.

Food was OK but the decor is a little dated. Also felt the lager was a little flat.

Best curry in Oldham area. My favourites are Aloo Ar Mangsho (Lamb) and Simla Chicken (comes with green beans).

This is one of our favourite restaurants in the area. The food is consistently excellent and they have some great Bangladeshi dishes. The staff are friendly and welcoming, particularly with children. It always has a great atmosphere and is never full the drunk fools you get elsewhere. They also do takeaways. I rarely ever do online reviews but the last time we visited some weeks ago, I promised I would.

Under no circumstances would myself or my dad ever come here again, we travelled 10 miles in the snow, arrived at Bay Leaf at 10.10pm to be turned away and told that they stop cooking at 10pm even though it says 11pm online. Extremely misleading and unfair. The staff are rude and the Customer Service is absolutely terrible. We were a fairly new customer, having only been to the restaraunt twice and we returned because of the food however we will not be recommending this restaraunt to any of our friends or family and will avoid it at all times. DO NOT GO HERE!

Been to bayleaf Indian CUSINE lastnite(8/9/2016 with a party of 8,I must say I've been to many Indian restaurant,tried many different types of food,but the freshness and the taste and aroma of the dishes at bayleaf in delph is on a different level,from the minute we walked in till the moment we walked out,everything was bang on perfect,I've also had takeaways from here before which was just as good(HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE) I'll be back again with friends and family.....

Ordered curry at 19:34 Rang at 20:46 to ask where abouts, told driver just set off Rang 21:05 told me driver just left Rang at 21:20 asked to ring driver, told me they'd ring back Rang back at 21:36 told me curry had been delivered to wrong house. Then told me curry had not been order after all.

Fantastic Food and Brilliant Service. I really like the cozy, romantic ambiance in this small restaurant.

Best curry house for miles. Have tried all the others and keep coming back to this one. Not cheap, but worth every penny!
