I have been coming here for years because the sandwiches and cakes are first class, and the staff are always polite and friendly, well worth visiting this bakery in Castleford.

Great small traditional bakeries are hard to find, and this one is a gem! Great products, great service and fantastic prices. Well worth a visit, you're sure to return!

My dad used to live around the corner and we would always have a treat on a Friday and buy a sandwich and bun, always worth it. Have to get their early though because they sell out so quickly due to their local and loyal customers

This is the best bakery in town and the prices are a give away you can get a Yorkshire pasty for 50p it's full of real meat &veg,You can also get sandwiches freshly made at the counter at a reasonable price as well as buns and pork pies also freshly baked breadcakes I recommend this shop to new customers it's a lot cheaper than Greggs and the food tastes better fact!

Wow! Staff are so friendly, food is gorgeous and the value for money is out of this world! My partner is a builder and regularly uses here - gets a carrier bag full and costs next to nothing!

Warm and friendly staff. A good selection of rolls, cakes and snacks both warm and cold. My special favourites are large Egg Custards and Eccles Cakes (No shortage of size or currants). Must add this is a Bakery not a Restaurant.

Go in here every so often for a sandwich and a sweet treat. It is so cheap I often wonder if the price has been miscalculated. The ladies are friendly and 1 in particular always has a smile for you and is really sweet. The bread is lovely, and the sandwiches full to the brim. The buns etc are very traditional, the kind of things my grandma would bake.

Encontré esta aproximadamente a local de panadería hace dos semanas. Desde entonces comprar diversos productos y han sido completamente satisfechos con la calidad y los precios de todo. El personal es siempre agradable y dispuesto a ayudar y dispuestos a responder a cualquier pregunta. En conjunto un gran descubrimiento. Ojalá este negocio de estilo tradicional son muy populares.

I love Batesons Bakery, and have been coming here for approximately 10 years now for bread, cakes, and biscuits!The staff are amazing, they're so friendly. They make a point of knowing each customer by name, and asking after you whilst engaging in small talk.Everything is baked on the premises so you know it's fresh that day, and I've never had a bad experience there.There's an array of sandwiches that are made up in front of you whilst you wait, so if there's a particular ingredient you don't want included then you can just ask them to omit it.The caramel slices are a definite weakness of mine, they're very moreish! Bread and teacakes also baked daily and are lovely toasted with lashings of butter.Lovely little bakery.

This place is great!! Fresh sandwiches, salads, pies, pasties, buns and cakes served at an unbelievably low price! The staff are so friendly and service is really quick. Just wish it opened later as closes at 2pm :(

We have used this bakery for many years and never had a problem. The staff are excellent and the baking is second to none. I fully recommend you try this shop when you are in the area.

I want to buy everything when I am in the shop. It's a lovely clean shop and the food is beautiful. There are not many bakeries still around like this. The breadcakes are so light and fluffy, sandwiches are all made fresh and the cakes and buns are delicious.

Batesons have always been a great bakery in Castleford and I have been buying their beautiful breadcakes/scufflers for years. My Friday treat for years has been a vanilla slice (unfortunately they don't seem to be quite the same recently though and I have on occasion been dissappointed with the quantity of custard and the pastry seems to be baked harder - may just be me?) I love the sandwiches - great. Cakes - great. Batesons just great. Sometimes have day old bread in bags that is cheaper.

Usually when I have been to my hairdressers, I call on the way home. Sandwiches are freshly made to order also yummy cakes and pasties. Staff are always very friendly.

This is a small family run bakers that provides first class inexpensive bread and a range of other bakery products all at amazing value and quality. I found it over five years ago and go there regular for bread, pies and the occassional cake. The staff are all friendly and sandwiches are made to order in no time at all. This type of bakery has just about vanished from the high street, so take a little detour and you will not be disapointed.

We have used the bakery for 25 years and never had one problem in all those years. The staff and goods on sale are really second to none. Everything fresh on the day and they have some offers on certain days. You are always greeted with your name or a good morning. I cannot fault this bakery at all. The staff should be very pleased with what they do.
