Great cafe with a good selection of food. Two cosy back rooms, one with plenty of toys for children to play with. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. Also outdoor seating a nice children's play area.

Good range of gluten free choices. Staff super friendly. Lovely set up.... was very impressed. Has small rooms so handy for quick work meetings, as well as meeting friends.

So pleased i found this lovely place. Having just missed the breakfast menu we had the quiche instead so pleased we did delicious food and the best creamy coleslaw I've ever had! Freindly staff and good value. We will defiently be returning.

Stopped by for coffee whilst in Aylesford. Lovely outdoor seating area and space for children to play making it a good place to depend a few hours. There were quite a few families there on a Sunday afternoon. Service was very good, coffee was decent.

This cafe is a lovely find. It has a big play area with tree house style climbing frames and slides, monkey bars, seesaw and a sandpit. There is seating outside as well as inside. There is also a children's area with tables and chairs, sofas and toys and books. They offer a lunchbox for the kids with a choice of sandwich, crisps, drink, snack and yoghurt or jelly. I had a big breakfast and it was lovely. There is a good variety of food and drink and the staff are friendly.

What a hidden gem!. Visited this morning for breakfast and it was the nicest breakfast out in the area I have had. Plentiful portions and beautifully cooked. Lovely ladies in the kitchen that had time for a chat and two lovely girls serving, Edie and Chloe I think. We didn’t intend to stay as long as we did and ended up having cake too which was just as lovely. Thank you! Now I’ve discovered you I will be back!.

Base Camp re opened on Monday 14 February with a new team and new name Base Camp with Sweet Sensations. Still a community hub for all ages with a warm welcome to all. Plenty of seating areas inside and outside.

The base cafe has always been a favourite of ours and we’re so happy it’s finally reopened! A wonderful space, lovely play park, excellent food and drinks and a lovely friendly team who always make us welcome.

Always wanted to try this place and support the British Legion but we were so disappointed with the food. There is not much of a choice on the menu but the 4 of us settled with cheese on toast. When it came it literally was a slice of toast with some cheese on top, no garnish or effort in presentation, we weren't even given the choice of white or brown bread and this looked like the cheapest white bread you could possibly buy. There was no atmosphere in the cafe and the staff were quite miserable. Shame really as it has so much potential but we will not be returning.

The food is really good, had a bacon and sausage sandwich which tasted great, then shared a sausage roll with the wife, the sausage roll was huge and what I call a proper sausage roll. All handily located with excellent children’s playground next door to let the little one burn energy at the same time. New favourite local brekky spot

Base Camp is a very friendly and pleasant cafe to have a long lunch at. The food is always fresh, but don't expect a cooked a meal. The lunch menu is mainly sandwiches jackets, soup etc.but the cakes are delicious. Very helpful and pleasant staff.

Quite possibly the best cheese and ham toastie I have EVER had. Really friendly staff too. I’m sure I will be back very very soon. Highly recommend.

First visit here for lunch. For me it was disappointing. Small menu board. Arrived about 12 o’clock and ordered a jacket potato, my friend had a sandwich. This was pre packed and was simply given a plate to put it on. The jacket potato was luke warm and clearly not freshly cooked despite only being the start of lunchtime. The salad garnish was nice. Drinks were fine. We sat in the tables and chairs area which was empty, no atmosphere at all. Lots of children coming backwards and forwards through this area from outside to presumably use the toilets. Piece of cake later looked lovely but was dry. Would not visit again and that’s a shame.

Easy to pop in for a friendly chat and snack at Base Camp. It’s almost like having a snack in a front parlour. So comfortable, friendly service and delicious food. And parking is so easy at the nearby RBLI Club carpark

I went for breakfast on Wednesday with a friend..we try lots of local cafes. We entered and was greeted by a man on the till saying..we don’t do full English..we didn’t ask for one. After ordering we paid and were left standing..not knowing where to go. We found a horrible room with three trestle tables..one piled with boxes..one with lady packing children’s lunch boxes. The last one covered with thick plastic cloth..like a nursery school painting area. Found coffee area quite nice but could not eat egg on toast there. It was too cold to eat outside. Definitely not going again.

We fancied a quick bite to eat, but still somewhere local. I found Base Camp and so pleased we did. It was very busy when we went, but service was good. Enjoyed lunch sitting outside. The playpark looked really good fun, although my two are too big for play parks now. We were very good and resisted the cakes, but they did look very tasty. Will be going back to try the cakes at a later time!!!

Went for tea and cake. I had apple cake with a blackcurrant puree in middle so different and delicious. Good quality tea (decaffeinated) Will visit again.

We’d driven past the sign for this cafe in the British legion village a few times and then decided to try it. Very relaxed environment and the staff were friendly and helpful. There are several rooms including a lounge with more relaxing chairs.

Set in the grounds of the Royal British Legion Village this a homely place set in a quiet location serving a cuppa, etc, or food, in the the old doctor’s house. And unlike many restaurants, you can sit on comfy chairs or settees. Friendly staff.

Base camp is new to me, a couple of mummy friends had recommended it so I gave it a go with my two children (3 and 4 years old), they loved it! the play area is well kept, clean, all the equipment is accessible for my children and most importantly of all it is safe. The sandpit and tree house are a huge hit!

Cafe is situated opposite the Heart of Kent Hospice shop and drop off, just as you drive into the British Legion. Light lunches are served, sandwiches, jacket potatoes, salads, cakes, scones etc. We had a BLT. And tea/coffee. Bread was nice and fresh. Nice spot and we will come again.

I had seen this place on the internet and being ex-forces myself liked description about it. Base Camp claimed to be a social hub for armed forces veterans & the local community, to my horror it was far from that. On arrival we noticed the play park to the side of the building, not deterred we went in only to find the place full of unaccompanied children running around the tables and making a mess. We joined the queue and waited some time before we was served, it was not the fault of the staff in fact they were very pleasant & helpful and the chaos did not phase them. We had coffee and cake that was a little on the expensive side but very nice nevertheless, I could over hear the Mum's talking and it was apparent none of them actually lived in the area, we did not stay long as the noise was too much. I was expecting the place to have a military feel about it given where the location is and the RBLI running it, but what we got was Kindergarten mayhem. It's a good place to go if you have very young children but not if you're out for a bite to eat in sane / normal surroundings.

I live in the Royal British Legion Village, so this is my “local”, a couple of minutes walk away, Nice food, and comfortable indoor seating area, if the weather is bad. You may be lucky to grab one of the sofas! Lovely outdoor seating area for sunny days, and a very impressive large children’s play area with slides, seesaws and a sandpit. Can easily keep an eye on the kids whilst eating outside. Thoroughly recommended

Been here a few times and food is always lovely staff are friendly and its clean and tidy.Bonus is the play area for children with seating outside.

Supporting veterans and staffed at least in part by volunteers this community cafe is a lovely place to visit as it is relaxing, clean, welcoming and friendly.

Great to support a worthy cause and makes a change from a chain coffee shop which seem to be taking over the Country. Excellent value for money, well equipped children's play area, decent sized drinks and good food. Will be returning.

Unless you know where you are going, it isn't that easy to find this cafe. We turned off the A20 and there was a sign on the wall of the RBL village pointing down the hill to the cafe - it wasn't down the hill - it was an immediate turn right! Once on the site, we then drove past the sign saying "cafe car park" which is immediately on the right when entering the site. There was plenty of parking available.

Met with friends for a cream tea here. What value for money!. Sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream and cakes with unlimited topped up pot. Very welcoming and even supplied bags to take away what we couldn't eat as truly full. Recommend to anyone worth going into Royal British Legion Village to find this gem.

Kids love the new play park been designed very well, cafe offers a good range of food and drink. Staff friendly great place for all the family.

My wife and I visited the café on Saturday 2nd September, we were amazed at the place and really pleased to see a new play area for our grand children. Great coffee

Hemos visitado el campamento base varias veces y he estado muy satisfecho pero nuestra última visita no estaba a la altura. Pedimos sándwiches tostados y cuando llegamos era simplemente un sandwich en un plato, sin ensalada o guarnición de cualquier tipo. muy sencilla. Siento decir que no lo pensaré volver.

Alquilamos una habitación para una reunión de negocios en RBLV y luego almorzamos en el Campamento Base. El lugar era ideal, el servicio era muy bueno y las opciones para comer y beber eran enormes. Parece esta pequeña joya es poco aprovechada - es una pena, ya que también es muy razonable.

Me encontré con este café increíble ayer estaba muy sorprendido de encontrar esta joya casi en mi puerta que ofrece una fantástica variedad de comidas ligeras a precios razonables y el personal es extremadamente amable, muy contento que he encontrado lo que parece ser el núcleo de la comunidad local.

Lugar muy conveniente para parar y no café LAVAZZA, que es de buena calidad. Siempre tienen una buena torta. Puede ser bastante concurrida en horas punta. La habitación trasera con las sillas cómodas es el mejor lugar para sentarse. El personal siempre fue muy amable.

Tricia, Aylesford: We went to the café yesterday for lunch. We both had bacon sarnies - yum yum and a cup of tea. There was a good choice on the menu. I am sure everyone would find something to eat.

Great value, although not cheap, Base Camp is a comfy refuge for anyone! They have their own blend of coffee which is nicer than the "big" coffee houses' blends.

Excellent value and food. Somewhat limited menu but enough variety to find something you really fancy. Have now been here on several occasions and have never been disappointed.

Yo trabajo en Londres la mayoría y así rodeado de cafés, tiendas, etc, pero ninguno de ellos, ni siquiera se acercan a la excelente comida, café, relación calidad-precio y una cálida bienvenida que se ofrece en el Campamento Base. Hemos contado maravillas de Base tanto a la oficina que todo el mundo quiere venir a Aylesford para una distancia de un día. . Es sólo una cuestión de tiempo. Base Camp es un centro comunitario que está mucho más que una cafetería. Tienen una variedad de espacios para disfrutar de su café; de al aire libre en días soleados y adentro pueden satisfacer a un espacio de zona 2 o relajado con sofás que es ideal para familias y amigos para reunirse y también tienen una sala de reuniones.

Use base camp quite a lot for coffee and cake. Very comfortable and friendly. Children are very welcome.

Un tesoro escondido. Sólo recientemente descubrí este establecimiento aunque ha sido abierto 10/11 meses. Visitamos como tenia cita cerca y sin duda volveremos. Gran variedad de bocadillos, etc. El servicio era excelente. Aceptar que no estaba ocupado en el momento en que llegamos, pero me dijeron de ir y elegir mi asiento él traería mi café para mí. Nos sentamos en el precioso sol disfrutamos de una taza de café. Servido con una sonrisa amable.

Así viniendo de Aylesford había oído hablar de este lugar. Así que llevé a mi madre allí inicialmente por un sándwich y café.

I love it, and the staff are excellent! We call in aftyer Slimming World as a treat (but don't tell the organiser) There is a wide selection of snacks and meals, including sandwiches, jacket potatoes, cakes etc. including healthy snacks such as fruit and yoghurt.

Trabajamos al lado de Base en el Llamamiento de la amapola. No nuestro evento nic, así como ser un lugar fantástico para excelente servicio y bebidas. El ambiente es perfecto que nunca te sientes apresurado y Andrew, Claire y todo el personal le da la bienvenida. La comida es fantástica, vamos para nuestro almuerzo regularmente y encanta. Ni siquiera ir por dentro, como cuando conducimos por detrás para aparcar el coche, no hay aparcamiento y había algunos hombres que parecían bastante peligroso fuera y ambos decidimos que ni siquiera entrar.

Fuimos el viernes con mi familia, teníamos chaqueta y varios sándwiches, patatas, todo era excelente. El café era perfecta y acabada con una selección de helados. Este es un centro de la comunidad local vinculada a la Real Legión británica. Los precios son muy razonables, cómodos asientos dentro y fuera. Mi hija es sin gluten y siempre hay una selección de comida disponible para ella. Gran lugar para la familia y amigos, y es agradable de ver empresas locales de apoyo. El personal siempre es atento.

Stumbled across this cafe two weeks ago with my daughter and after hearing great reviews I had to go in, wonderful kind and friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble.

Good baic food at resonance prices. The staff are very friendly. This is a comunity hub cafe at the royal british legion village that supports veterans and that is open to all visitors. Well recommended. I like popping in for their strawberries and cream.

New cafe is located within the british legion site and is actually in an old cottage that served as quarters for my dad in the late forties when he was stationed there with the royal army medical corp, Light bite food and sandwiches are very reasonable prices and history of preston hall on the walls. If you want to go somewhere with history and especially for those that served in the armed services then well worth a visit.

Mi visita fue retrasada, ya me decidí probar cuando abrió sus puertas por primera vez y nunca había que hasta ahora. Lugar encantador y el personal muy amable. Limpio y luminoso edificio con mucha privacidad para un café tranquilo o un aspecto más animado si lo prefiere. La comida y el café era excelente y a un precio razonable. Si quieres un ambiente hogareño cómodas sillones y alegre amable servicio, este es el lugar en Aylesford. Los antiguos médicos House, wherevbase campamento se ha establecido es una casa encantadora y grande con un montón de recovecos y sillones y sillas de comedor. La comida era buena y saludable.

Have been quite a few times now at different times of day, great place to go by myself or with friends or family. Also has meeting rooms and comfy places to sit. Lovely coffee, too many choices of what will go with it.

Went here during their sandwich week promotion and really impressed. I had the coronation chicken sawni and it was lovely. Nice atmosphere and very well priced, I think they are onto a winner, will be back again :)

Primero visitamos esta nueva cafetería encantadora 3 semanas después de que abrió sus puertas por primera vez y hemos visitado todas las semanas desde ya que es ahora un nuevo favorito de la nuestra. El personal es amable y acogedor, y la comida es de excelente relación calidad-precio. Normalmente disfrute de un almuerzo tardío de sándwiches, café y pasteles, que siempre están frescas y degustar deliciosos y estamos ansiosos de probar más del menú. Seguiremos apoyando campamento base y recomendaría encarecidamente este lugar a todo el mundo.

Sólo abierto , bien vale la pena una visita. Fuimos ayer con mi madre para minusválidos, disfrutamos sándwiches de tocino con té y café. El personal es muy educado. pequeñas habitaciones de centro neurálgico para relajarse. Hay mesas afuera si desea sentarse allí . El aparcamiento está en la parte trasera de la cafetería. Tienen un poco a pie del jardín de honor.
