Barvarian Beerhouse in Camden

We were really looking forward to going here. We love a German beer hall but there was 1 beer available from a menu of 20+!!! Absolutely ridiculous. I can’t actually believe people stayed there. Also apparently if you have a booking only you can go downstairs. Would have been good for someone to tell us before we sat down there for 5 minutes waiting to be served. Badly managed.

I have been to this place numerous times over the years but unfortunately the service has really deteriorated, especially in the last year.

Having now read the recent reviews I'm glad we didn't eat there (today at lunchtime), but that really wasn't going to happen anyway if they had no beer. Seriously. This is during Oktoberfest. And no beer...

Where do I even begin? I've been to the Augustiner in Munich several times, and it's absolutely my favourite place to go. So my partner and I decided to try some Bavarian food this Sunday after a trip to the Tower of London. What could be better?

This evening was a real nightmare. The service was very quick at our table to take the order. But then.... We had to wait 40min at least until the orders came. The Schnitzel and the chips were so fatty and rock hard. Maybe it was to long in the fryer. The beer we wanted was sold out. So we were forced to drink bottled beer. It has nothing to do with a real bavarian beerhouse. Absolute nothing.

We were there on a Tuesday about lunch time, no many people in. The staff was friendly, our daughter wanted the spiral sausage but it wasn't in the menu and they kindly accommodate for us, even given her a princess crown. Very please with the food. I had the lunch offer, my husband the mix of sausages, and what he says one of the best beers he had. We will recommend.

Sono tornato per la seconda volta a distanza di 6 anni in questo posto e devo dire che ci sono tornato volentieri. Alloggiavo lì vicino e ho passato una serata veramente te piacevole. Il gestore, Tobias, è stato molto cordiale e simpatico. Quando poi ha sentito che parlavamo tedesco gli sono brillati gli occhi di felicità :-)

Good German beer and food. You have snitzels, sausages and other goodies. Music might be a bit loud but you can ask to dial it down a bit

My first ever visit was to the Old Street branch who have the whole things nailed, therefore it was more than disappointing to take my work colleagues down the road to the Tower Hill branch. I dont want to ramble on too much about how disappointed I am however I do want to highlight how badly management are with getting back to a customer.

We were sent to the basement because the upstairs had been reserved. The atmosphere there is informal. I am writing this review several months after dining there and to be honest I don't remember the food but I do recall the location and the wait staff. That's a sure sign that it wasn't a memorable dining experience -- hence my rating.

Visited Saturday just gone. the place was lacking in atmosphere and our waitress was miserable as sin! not a smile in signt...actually made us feel really uncomfortable hence why we only stayed for one drink. Wish we had stayed where we were! nevermind...know for future.

Tener por este lugar un número de veces visitar Londres, decidimos parar y disfrutar de la cena. Así las porciones de la comida eran enormes, y el cóctel eran agradables. Sé que no era barato, pero era muy agradable. Por desgracia, la única postre APFELSTRUDEL tenían era que nuestra camarera nos dijo estaba caliente. Siendo que la temperatura exterior 20Decidimos en contra.

It’s the second time I have visited this place and it will definitely be the last. My first visit was bad but unfortunately I decided to give it a second chance. The staff are rude, service is incredibly slow, the beer is warm and the toilets have a severe drainage issue which permeates through to the bar area.

Llegué y me dijeron que "encontrar su propia mesa". Preguntó si nos innumerables veces al Listo para ordenar y entre el personal se sentaba en otra mesa en sus teléfonos móviles. La comida se sirve apenas tibia y cuando se ultimó el cuenta menos parte del Consejo sugirió la camarera procedieron a discutir hasta que me dieron y pagué la cuenta, aunque el servicio y la comida era promedio. No tan buenos como sus homólogos de Sydney!

We enjoyed German beer and great Bavarian food at this great little joint near our hotel! I even got a free t-shirt for drinking a liter of Lowenbrau beer!

The best spaetzle I have ever had. Traditional german food and german beer. If you like that kind of food this is the place. Many German speakers work there and eat there.

We had booked a table at this venue to watch the German worldcup match. Pretty soon it became clear that the venue was desperately short staffed. Although the waitress serving our table did her very best and was friendly throughout, it took her more than 30 minutes to get to our table to take our orders. As I am a celiac, i asked for the gluten free menu or any other gluten free options. To my very surprise, the guy who was referred to as the manager simply told me in a really unpleasant way that there were no gluten free options at all. I have never heard that sentence before in my time in London and also never experienced such a unwillingness to provide any kind of service.

Booked a table for 4 for the 1st German Worldcup match. When we arrived the table had already been taken. OK, they managed to reshuffle the people and all was good. Ordered drinks and food. Wrong drinks. OK again, they changed them quickly. Food came but salad was missing. OK yet again (I think you know where I'm going here) they managed to get the salad delivered eventually. Now to the game. They were playing some stupid music instead of the national anthems of both team. Just around kickoff they managed to switch to... yes, the BBC and English. They used to show the German version in the past but apparently no more. Anyway, you could hardly hear it anyway... I've been here many times but this was most likely the last time as the service has deteriorated over the years. Thank God there are many other German pubs in London with significantly better service.

good beer selection. wurst mit sauerkraut...and a cold beer. well, for me that goes hand in hand. central location, 5 min walk from the tower hill tube station

Super nette Bedienung, mega große Portion Essen, schmeckt sehr gut, wie in Deutschland Auch das Ambiente ist ansehnlich, lediglich kleinere Tische wären gut, ich saß alleine an einer Bierzeltgarnitur.

He estado en el Bávaro Cerveceria en Tower Hill varias veces. Siempre he disfrutado y la novedad de tomar cerveza de un stein nunca ha desaparecido. La cerveza aquí es maravilloso y tienen una razonable selección para elegir, sus precios son baratos en comparación a otros establecimientos ubicados en el centro de Londres. Acepto que nunca he tenido la comida aquí, así que no lo recomiendo, pero si te gusta la cerveza, no te puedes equivocar con el bávaro cerveceria.

Entramos y el director (suponiendo que él era el director) nos miró y dijo no es servicio de bar ir y sentarse. Nos sentamos y él nos miraba y no sirve para al menos 20 minutos y no estaba lleno. Obviamente estaba teniendo un mal día y no dar una maldita - él era el chico calvas. Nos paré puso en nuestros abrigos y él simplemente deja que suceda y no les importó. Sin duda, creo que es hora de echar un vistazo a su personal porque perdió negocios y Sudáfrica y siempre recomiendo para un buen día. Fui a la sucursal de Bristol, y pasamos un tiempo estupendo. Esta particular rama es pésima. Evitar a toda costa. El servicio era horrible, el lugar parecía completamente descuidado y tan alemán como 28.00.

Acabo de volver de una comida en la Cerveceria Bavaria en Tower Hill.

Reservamos la casa cerveza unas semanas antes de nuestro viaje de Londres como quería garantizar que teníamos un lugar para comer en la noche que llegamos. A poca distancia de nuestro hotel, que ambled por aquí y enseguida me recibió una camarera. Por desgracia, ella no podría encontrar nuestra reserva! Sin embargo, pudo encontrar asiento en una de las mesas de estilo banco, que estaba bien con nosotros. Pedimos cerveza oscura y comida, que eran geniales. El lugar estaba animado y la música. En primer lugar, demasiado ruidoso pero no apagarlo a petición de varios comensales. Conseguimos charlando con una pareja encantadora de lectura y las bebidas se mantiene fluyendo. El ambiente era genial durante toda la noche y nos fuimos a la medianoche. En resumen, una divertida noche con comida y bebidas y un gran ambiente. Los precios de Londres, eran razonables. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente.

Fuimos de una inesperada noche con mi novia. Pedimos nuestra comida. Elegí la comida pierna de cordero. Mi comida no aparecen amigas Esperé y me dijo para empezar. Ojalá nunca. La pierna de cordero tenía muy poco gusto y era duro (no el deshielo del hueso esperaba) el buñuelo eran incomibles. Y el personal parecía tener cero motivación para estar allí. Un hombre sentado en nuestra mesa esperando para servicio de mesa durante más de 15 minutos antes de que salimos de disgusto. Y no podríamos culpar a él. Aquí está nuestra comida lo siento. Incluso el guiso parecía triste.

Era un lunes tranquilo y húmedo en Londres. Aparecimos aquí ya estábamos cerca. Este es un bar estupendo y no me recuerdan cuando nos alojamos en Alemania. Estaba bastante tranquilo, lo que hizo para un ambiente relajante. Un gran servicio al cliente. Una cerveza. Volveremos cuando cruce o en Londres. Gracias por una cálida bienvenida.

Great beer lousy Sunday roast (more microwaved than fresh), I was hoping to replicate our December German experience in Frankfurt for daughters birthday.

Ser visitantes frecuentes de Baviera podemos confirmar que la comida es auténtica y los buenos platos bávaros de calidad y no demasiado caro. Las porciones también eran de un buen tamaño y el buen servicio. La cerveza era excelente. La única pega era lugar tiene el ambiente de una cafetería con una gran TV.

Great music great atmosphere. The schnitzel and spasle (German pasta) was lovely. All the sausages we tried were undercooked. Better bratwurst in Borough Market. Good sauerkraut. We would go again avoiding the bad stuff. Hey chef loads of sausage meals being uneaten- you need to ask why!

Goeie Duitse bieren, Krombacher, Erdinger en andere. Goeie schnitzel lekkere salade en ook nog een lekkere curryworst. Vanmiddag gaan we weer. Als je Hollander of Duitser bent, is dit een aanrader.

I’ve been coming to London for years on business and CANNOT believe I’ve not discovered this place before.

This is a reliable place to get a decent German meal. The options are plentiful and the food is tasty. I don't have any complaints and can recommend trying it out. There are a lot of options in this area and I wouldn't put this near the top of your list but if you're in the mood, it shouldn't disappoint.

This was my first time here, my boyfriend wanted to go for soooo loong and it was a great choice.

Serata senza alternative, finita abbastanza bene. All'inizio un pò chiassoso, ma era anche l'unica possibilità dopo aver girovagato. Mangiato abbastanza bene, niente di eccezionale, tutto troppo "finto"....

Obviously not the genuine food from Bavaria, but it gets pretty close! The atmosphere is good, food is delicious, service quick and attentive, price average. Will return again if nearby, definitely a good option if you’re hungry.

We went in for a drink at around 4:30pm. We were both very tired after a day walking around museums. We sat at a table, only to be moved because it was reserved. Fair enough. A couple of guys said we could share their table. It was extremely busy and loud with a lot of groups, probably Christmas parties. Hubby had a Stein and I had a cranberry soda and a tempranillo wine. We decided that despite the noise, we would stay for a couple of hours and eat there as the food looked good and hubby loves German food. Hmmm, that's when it all came undone. We waited over 20 minutes with empty glasses while other tables were served drink after drink and food. Hubby could see one of the waiters chatting at the bar to people who looked like regulars instead of serving. We eventually attracted the attention of a waitress who was apologetic and professional but we just got the bill and left.

Since returning from living in Germany, we miss certain things, mainly bratwurst, yager schnitzel.

Popped in here about 8PM on a Tuesday for a quick bite to eat. It was busy upstairs with Football being shown on a couple of large screens and downstairs which might have been quieter was closed. The sound was so high by the door, I had to almost shout at the waitress.

Was here yesterday for a Stein of beer and wanted some food to accompany it. Went for the Currywurst option and wasn't disappointed at all.

Yo estaba allí con unos 15 amigos en domingo como nos queríamos ir, pero el brunch dominical echaron antes eran gestionados para sentarse. Básicamente llegamos a las 11:10 (lugar abre a las 11:00), pero nos dijeron que se abrirá a las 11:30 y no podemos esperar para ser servido como dentro de cosas no está listo! No me puedo imaginar ningún otro motivo, pero la pereza del personal que no podía ser molestado para servir a los clientes!

Bei meinem Businesstrip nach London wollte ich eigentlich zunächst in einem britischen Pub ein Bier trinken gehen, aber irgendwie bin ich dann hier hängengeblieben. Kannte die Location vorher nicht. Natürlich ist das Bier deutlich teurer als bei uns, aber muss man einfach mal gesehen haben, wenn trinkselige asiatische Studenten Maß trinken.

Das Bier und das Essen ist gut, wenn auch sehr teuer (nein, knapp 6 Pfund für ne Halbe ist auch für diese Gegend nicht normal) und es ist wahrscheinlich das einzige Lokal in dem man Bayern Einzelspiele sehen kann.

The Bavarian beerhouse is a great spot to have a beer. The employees are very friendly. Great service.

To be fair this is a nice place. The food is okay and the beer is really nice.

Bundles liga fuss ball, bier in steins and frikadellen..... life cannot get better.... oh YES it can, when you are served by a nice lady dressed in a dirndl!!! Wunderbar!

I'm from Germany myself (born in Bavaria), however I never really lived there and only know German food through my mom's and grandma's cooking. The Bavarian Beerhouse in Tower Hill has great and friendly service, the food tastes lovely and fills you up very well. I will be taking my parents here the next time they come to visit!

Io adoro la Germania e qui l'abbiamo ritrovata...ottime birre, fantastici piatti tedeschi, personale simpatico, atmosfera festosa e allegra da pub bavarese. Consigliato

Have been to this restaurants a few times and have had always a good experience. Its usually very busy esp Thursday/Friday evenings. This restaurant is up road from Tower Hill tube station and under Fenchurch Street station. They do beer in very large glasses along with traditonal German food like schnitzel. Although I am not a fan of beer, I enjoy the food throughly.

Crecen en una comunidad alemana y familia, estoy bastante familiarizado con el Alemán comida. Estábamos a la vuelta de la esquina y almorzamos aquí en un lluvioso miércoles. Cuando llegamos a las 12:15 no había nadie en el lugar. El personal parecía estar más interesado en continuar su discusión de asientos. Una vez que la camarera nos acomodó y siempre los menús, servicio mejorado. Pedí una pinta de cerveza alemana oscura y mi esposa tenía un vino spritzer. Spritzer era normal y la cerveza era excelente. Tenían varias comidas especiales. Probé el salchichas con queso y bacon (nunca oído hablar de este plato antes). Mi esposa pidió la típica currywurst. Comidas llegamos en un tiempo razonable. Realmente me gustó mi comida. Lo más destacado fue la ensalada de patatas que venían con él. La salsa típica currywurst es uno de los mejores que he tatsed. Las patatas fritas podrían haber sido preparado más y la salchicha con la típica currywurst era normal. Los precios eran razonables, con una pinta de cerveza alemana y un almuerzo especial por £10. Tenían algunas otras comidas que sonaba bien, así que puede volver a probar uno de esos. Sólo una persona apareció después de que llegamos. Con un poco de presets que podría ser un excelente lugar.

me and a friend of my decided to go for a german experience,,we seat outside we saw the barman jason inside ,ask for the menu waited 0ver 27 min to order our drink ,,inside was empty i would understand if it was busy ,,,any way my jagerschnitzel was overcooked and hard to eat thats not german ,,,i didn't enjoy at all not a very nice experience,,and u are not german............

Understaffed. Could have spent twice as much. Beer good Food ok Staff vocally not happy with their job. Ok for drinks. Not a place to impress customers or partners. Passable as a local. Needs new management and motivated staff.

Not really a German experience ...and watch out for adding on 'optional' service charge...I tipped then saw they had done this...price for Augustiner £8 + Ooft.....

Precioso, sin duda una visita obligada si quiere experimentar la comida alemana y beber lejos de Alemania. He estado aquí varias veces, y cada vez ha sido genial. El personal es super amable y eficiente! Buena gente buen ambiente de gente, supongo que sería bueno para cumpleaños, despedidas de soltero y soltera! Buena cerveza!
