Nice atmosphere since the decoration and face-lift. Very much more inviting. Service wasnt great, and food was very poor, came to the table like it had been thrown on the plate from the other side of the kitchen and the fries not cooked.

Lovely food, staff are lovely and very helpful. First time coming and will definitely go back

Went to Bartlewood lodge for 16.00 booking. We chose the carvery, having the Gammon and the Beef. Both meats disappointing, and the vegetables were over cooked and luke warm. We had the same experience 3 moths ago but thought we would give it another go. Still the same. Will not return

We had breakfast there and we really enjoyed it, food was lovely and service was great. Not that expensive either

We wene here for a carvery 3 adult carvery and 1 child carvery the food was so dry I was horrible meat was cold Order some desserts.We waited 20 minutes for the desserts.Never come went and ask about the desserts they won't Another twenty minutes to do 3 ice cream we wot Hour money back

Had a meal here for the first time in a good while, good, tasty and hot, served quickly. Surprisingly quiet for a Friday evening but still enjoyable.

Great for family time with reasonable prices and great quality. There is a play area for the children and the menu has something for everyone

Visited here, for lunch recently, But I have been before when I used to live in Derby. The place has recently had a refurb and looks very nice. The food was excellent, but for some reason, carvery meals are never very hot, maybe next time we will order off the menu. The desserts were also very tasty and the waitresses were all smiley, friendly and happy to chat. We would definitely return on our next trip up to Derby from Suffolk.

Debbie and lucy were so friendly and very helpful will definitely be returning food was so fresh and hot lovely food quick service

Great food, friendly atmosphere. Debbie and Millie were amazing. Clearing tables and making sure that we were okay during our meal. Would definitely recommend. Will be coming back soon

Such nice professional staff and chefs it's well worth a visit to enjoy a generous carvery dinner or maybe just a pizza or fish n chips as they are served in the comfort of this lovely country restaurant, 😉

Wasn't greeted at the door after being stood there for 5 minutes and food came out before our drinks, ordered through the app. Carvery was amazing highly recommend!

Ordered off the app took over 10 minutes to get tickets for the cavery a bit stingy with the meat but everything else all good

Had to wait for veg and meat to be restocked. Meat portion was much smaller than previous visits. Left us questioning value. Smushy roast potatoes.

Good service despite being busy and good value for money

Food and service was great. The atmosphere was friendly, family orientated but it was a bit noisy! But all in all we had a good time.

Mey up with Family and food was and looked amazing, siblings had carved looked amazing and burger was delicious. Defo recommend as best looking carvery I've seen. Staff friendly and welcoming. Would recommend to book table in advance

Food absolutely shocking - no flavour, mushy, tasted awful, Overcooked, dried up. Not enough staff on to manage restaurant. Drink flat as a pancake Complete rip off 😡

Always a great breakfast. Good clean surroundings. Nice helpful staff. The downside is they NEVER have warm plates, even worse with the new system.

Call to have breakfast with a friend heard it was a lovely place and breakfast very nice and yes we wasn't disappointed the service was 10 out 10 and the food also had got to be the best breakfast around , the girl that served us i think her name Lucy S was very polite and showed us what to do as we had not been before .

Lovely carvery dinner!! Very tasty!! If I was going to be picky I’d say the beef had a lot of fat in with it, but the taste definitely outweighs that!! Service was perfect! Faye and Debbie are brilliant! Attentive to us as a table, interacting with our girls, really friendly and welcoming! Can’t wait to come back! Hopefully when they are on!

Carvery is always fresh and roastoes are lovely!

Came tonight for the carvery, looked delicious. Turkey,beef, gammon. Good selection of potatoes and Vegetables. Just a big shame we could not cut the beef, so tough. Told the staff and got a refund. So disappointing.

Booked a table for 3 for 6.15 ,at 7.10 went to order carvery but all meat had gone and was told no more was available, only option was sausage,so left , but when we were waiting to go in people who hadn't booked were let in , getting greedy £///

It's a Carvery. You get what you pay for and a bit more if you flirt with the Chef. Decent carvery in fairness.

Christmas meal booked.No crackers on our table and it looked like my prawn cocktail was half eaten lot smaller than other members of our party won't go again.

Great food, different daily offers on the menu, which are popular with regulars. Child and dog friendly, but lots of nooks and crannies to hide away if that is not your thing. Staff are super friendly, just not enough of them, even when offers are on which would make it busier, they never put enough staff on. Large car park, outdoor seating areas, childrens play area in rear garden.

For a great breakfast you can't beer it.

The food was not as good as it used to be. Meat was very fatty and in small bits, no real slices. Don't think I will be going there again.

Very quick to be seated. Seen at the bar straight away by a lovely happy go lucky bar man. Great carvery, no waiting. Dessert was great portions too.

Meat was absolutely disgusting, more fat than meat, will never be going back, yet often used to pop up for a carvery.

Very unwelcoming manager. After waiting in the entrance for someone at the 'please wait here sign', the gentleman there politely said we where welcome to have a drink at the bar but there were no tables available to sit at as they were fully booked. We thanked him and we ordered our drinks. Whilst the drinks were being poored we were then approached by the manager, in a very confrontational manner saying" have you just let yourselves in". We tried to explain that we had waited at the door, and spoke to gentleman there whom had welcomed us in, but he rudely kept cutting us off saying no walk ins today. There was no signage to say that no drinks where being served, nothing on the Web page or Facebook page and the staff had happily allowed us in and began to serve us. We have visited bartlewood lodge on xmas day for the previous 6 years to toast a drink to my brother whom got killed after finishing a shift working there, and whom is buried at Dale Hill next door, and to toast to the staff as a thank you for there support. The New manager was point blank rude, insensitive, uncompationate and ruined a moment for a still grieving family. Very disappointed to say the least

I booked 3 festive menus. The starters came quickly but the pizza didn't arrive until I complained. 2 had the carvery which was as expected on this chain. Again I had to ask for the desserts. One order was sticky toffee pudding with ice cream but this arrived with custard. Another was the Christmas pudding with brandy sauce. This was cold and had no flavour at all. The restaurant wasn't too busy so the delay wasn't due to the staff being over stretched. Disappointing.

From the moment we walked through the door we was looked after, there was no chaos like we have had in previous years at other restaurants, no queues at the bar served straight away and our starters arrived as soon as we said we were ready the whole experience was fabulous, the staff the food everything it made our Christmas, thank you Bartleywood highly recommended

Got to say, we can't really give any ratings as we never got to eat, from the moment we entered we knew it wasn't going to end well, it is wholly unfair to give a negative review when they're obviously understaffed and so close to Xmas but you would think the logic of taking bookings when you advise customers at arrival of such a long wait is ridiculous (unless you have the carvery) surely it would make more sense to not accept any advanced bookings and/or advise not to arrive at all given the situation, I have to say that the limited staff available looked miserable and stressed, not surprising given the large number of people waiting to be served which is quite understandable and smacks of mental torture, but you should at least attempt to stay positive under duress, I can't blame the waiting staff but the management should take a long hard look at the situation if they're not to turn more custom away, we won't be returning again until we get word of mouth that things have positively changed.

Table booked for 17 of us... although 2 cancelled last minute the table was only laid for 14? Staff were quick to rectify and cancelled the 2 pre orders. Staff were attentive and asked when we were ready for all courses. Was quicker to go to the bar rather than use the app for drinks. Food was amazing as always though. Puddings were fabulous!! Well worth the money for our works Christmas gathering.

Fab place, some items a bit pricey but they have a deal a day so it makes them more affordable if you choose s day to go. Always busy, best to book a table. Staff are lovely, food good. Ample parking available.

We have become quite regular here and on every visit, it never ever fails. Food and service are always on point. Keep being great guys.

Took a friend out to dinner, they enjoyed the meal and the venue.

Was an xmas group meal. We all had a good time and staff where pleasant and fun. The food was great vegetarian/vegan options was good plenty of choice too which makes a change from other places which was one of the main reasons for booking at Bartlewood lodge. Thanks to the staff for helping make the evening a laugh 😃

The only thing that we would need to change is the draught to the area where we were sat! As we were in the conservatory area!

Been here twice for breakfast with the guys from work. All you can eat, great value and decent quality. Really can't go wrong.

We have been many times for a meal and every time the meal is constantly good. Would highly recommend it.
