Barsana Pure Vegetarian and vegan Indian Restaurant in Birmingham

Hands down the most unauthentic Indian food place. 3 dishes ordered , 2 of them tasted same and were extremely sweet. (by the way it said spicy/hot etc on the menu for those dishes) If you have heard of spices , now will be time to use them.

We’ve only just discovered this amazing restaurant and will definitely be coming back with others. With so many veggie and vegan friends who struggle to find a variety of options on any menu the quantity of choices available was brilliant. Everything we tasted was delicious and we had great service as well. Definitely worth giving it a try.

I had an excellent experience at Barsana, Jash and Radhika were very courteous, kind and friendly. The ambience is pretty and cozy. The food is great. We ordered Samosa chaat, Sev Puri, chilli potatoes and paneer pakora, all were delicious, especial the ras malai was divine !

Awesome food and awesome people. We ordered samosa chaat, aloo tiki chaat, paneer pakora, sev puri and rasmalai. I could not fault the taste of anything. Towards the end, I accidentally broke a glass. Radhika and Jash kindly checked on us and prioritised our safety. They even politely declined when I offered to pay for the broken item. A must visit place for authentic Indian street food.

Chilli potatoes were amazing! I’ve tried the Veg Samosa Chaat and it was so zesty and flavourful.

One of the worst places I have ever been. Both the food and service was absolutely disgusting and the manager was extremely rude. The place was so dirty and whilst walking to the toilet we saw a rat. Please don’t come here, it is filthy!

Food I've had here - samosa channa, masala papad, chilli gobi, biriyani, garlic nan, tandoori roti, veg makhanwala, malai kofta and finally portion of poori.

My biryani was full of peppercorns 🤮. I understand a few but for some reason the chef loaded it so that every bite you had peppercorns which wasn’t nice. The biryani sauce was too salty, whoever made my food seemed like they didn’t care. Is a shame because I’m a vegetarian and was looking forward to trying the restaurant. Feels like they were taking the piss because why would you put so much peppercorns in a dish unless you didn’t know how to cook. Expensive too

me and my fiancée came here with some family as we wanted to try it out as we've seen it the other day and the menu seemed really nice.. so we had poppadoms to start aswell as a normal starter, I had the onion bhaji which was delicious, one of the best I've tried.. then for the main I had paneer butter masala which was amazing, so creamy and full of flavour had this with basmati rice (which you can't go wrong with) and a garlic and coriander naan which was so tasty and fresh.. I can't recommend this place enough, if you are in harborne and fancy something to eat, I would definitely stop by here, amazing food and lots to offer. will definitely be returning.

Had such an amazing time here! Really friendly staff, short wait times for our meals to come out and most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious! The paneer pakora blew my mind. Would highly recommend! We are definitely gonna become regulars.

It’s one of the very few restaurants in UK that are delicious and close to authentic Indian taste I’ve been to. Loved every single dish we ordered, the Indo-Chinese takes me back home. Cheers to being authentic, delicious and showcasing the diversity of vegetarian options!

Food taste is nice , but expensive and quantity to very very less. One dish may not enough for even single person. I suggest please think about quantity also .

Ambience is good. Service is good. Food is not so good. We ordered paneer chilly and soya shaslik peri peri. The masala was same for both, very sour/tangy. The taste was not Indo chinese. Main course - paneer tawa masala, naan and biryani - was good

Definitely a 5 star restaurant. We had been meaning to try Barsana because of their extensive and fully vegetarian and vegan menu, and we were so impressed with the quality, freshness and taste of all the dishes we had. The sev puri was delicious and crunchy, the garlic and coriander naan was flavoursome and buttery, the butter paneer was rich and fresh, and the rice was fragrant. The staff were attentive and helpful- highly recommended.

Food was horrible. we ordered the veg tikki and they were frozen hash browns with masala on them omg whatva joke. the atmosphere was pin drop silence everyone could hear everything you and your family was taking about. chilli paneer did not taste right either. we went for the masala dosa but Harborne branch do not cook this even though they have google images showing this. never again.

Food was quite good but when the bill came we ask to remove service charge and the staff said sorry that she can’t do it as she don’t have any access and manager is not here and she fully denied to remove the service charge this not the way to rob from customer

The only problem was the service charges were optional but still we had to pay the service charges because the staff denied to remove it as she was not having the access. Like this is so wrong and this reason that they don’t have access and she is not the manager to handle this situation is not the way a restaurant should work.

I visited this hotel just a week ago, and I’ve already been back three times…it’s that good! As a very picky eater, I’m rarely impressed, but this restaurant has exceeded all my expectations. Every bite feels like home! Their tarka dal and bhindi dopiaza are simply phenomenal…absolute must-tries! The staff and service are top-notch, with excellent attention to detail and warm hospitality that makes you feel truly welcome. If you’re looking for incredible food and a wonderful dining experience, I can’t recommend this place enough!

What a great find! My friend and I visited last week and had an incredible dinner. I am neither vegetarian or vegan, but I didn't miss anything in the menu. The bhajis were especially delicious, and the portion sizes generous. Best Indian in Harborne. The atmosphere was relaxed and lovely. We will definitely return!

We saw many negative reviews on Google but decided to give it a try ourselves—unfortunately, it was just as disappointing as others warned. The food is extremely overpriced, and the portions are ridiculously small. We ordered their "special tropical mojito," but they served us basic tropical juice that seemed like it came straight from a supermarket carton. We don’t mind paying more if the food and atmosphere are worth it, but this was not worth it at all. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

A wonderful find. 3 of us dined here today and will definitely be back. Cozy warm and clean were our first impressions as we were met and shown to the table. Each course of food was really good and they were happy to adjust dishes to individual preferences. The food wasn’t rushed out, nor too slow but in keeping with food being freshly prepared. The staff were very helpful and I found the cost to be very reasonable for good quality food. Please ignore the recent batch of poor reviews, these were all from one group who were very entitled in their behaviour to say the least. I look forward to trying the lunchtime Thalis.
