Much improved since our last visit. Great atmosphere, barman very approachable and chatty. 👍

Great place for a well made cocktail. The guy on the bar was really friendly and cheery. Made us both feel very welcome.

Called in first time, just for a drink with friends. Nice place, great service but £6.50 for a pint of cask ale way too pricey.

We went for bottomless brunch and it was excellent value for money and the food was good. There was a great choice of drinks we had cocktails and the service was excellent the girl who served us was lovely and very good at her job. Would definitely recommend.

There was a spider on the wall that freaked the missus. Other than that nice little bar. I will frequent again in due course.

We visited as a group of 7 for a friends birthday after pre-booking a table. The bar was very busy with a previous party so we ordered drinks and sat in the outdoor area until our table was ready. Once seated the friendly waitress took our orders and informed that the beef and mushrooms tacos could be done gluten free as they have a separate frier. I was relieved being Coeliac and being sat near the open kitchen heard the chef state which the GF dish was which made me even more satisfied. Our table ordered a mix of Burrito's, Taco's and nachos which all had plenty of flavor and presented nicely! After eating we were ready to carry on our night of going to the local bars.

We were a group of eight and visited this place to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We had pre ordered as we were a big group and didn’t want the staff to waste time. We ordered cocktails at the bar but the service was very very poor. The cocktails arrived after 20 mins and the ice had melted away. The restaurant is not catered to service a big crowd. The food that was served was all clumped up together so the portions were not served individually making it difficult to know who ordered what however we were luck as we retained it on our phones. The food tasted awful. The corn balls were raw and the portions were very small. It’s not value for money at all. I will not recommend this place to any one and will not visit again.

Came as a group of 12. The atmosphere is nice, although the tables are so close to each other you are back to back with strangers. We had pre ordered our food, which came late. The food was nice but the portions were tiny for the price we were paying. When we asked where the food was we got a rude response from staff. The staff also served desert at the same time as the mains. The desert was ice cream so had melted by the time we’d finished our main. You’d expect 2 bao buns per portion but we only got one. It doesn’t specify this on the menu. The beef mince on the chips was terrible and poor quality. We didn’t get served any cutlery or napkins. The beers were overpriced, but you’d expect this from an independent bar. Won’t be visiting again, sorry!

Visited here with some family over the weekend. We aren’t local but they are, so we were looking forward to it as the menu online looked pretty impressive. And wow, we weren’t disappointed…what amazing food! I had the Umami Mushroom which was super yummy and shared a side of Seoul Fries which were INCREDIBLE (I wish I’d ordered my own!) Would recommend you order a side of fries with your bun as they aren’t the biggest and would’ve definitely still been hungry if we hadn’t. Loved the bar set up and the staff have such a quirky, cool style, they are attentive and there is a nice chilled vibe to the place. Only wish we had one near us, we would be regulars!

Absolutely divine - the loaded fries are the best I’ve ever had. And whoever decided to deep fry a bao bun and put ice cream and caramel in it deserves a Nobel Peace prize. I’m not kidding.

I normally enjoy my drink in here, but not yesterday! Staff were extremely unfriendly. Looked miserable and were unhelpful when asked about drinks. Also, serving half a craft beer in a long thin glass just didn't cut it. Disappointed, but will give it another go in a few weeks.

We booked a table for 2 for food on a Monday evening. The place is quite small and most of the other tables were occupied when we arrived. We were told there were no rice dishes available which was disappointing as that was one of the reasons we’d chosen to go here. The rest of the menu looked good so we ordered 2 bao buns and 2 sides. The food took a long time to arrive (they do have a sign saying please bear with us we are only a small kitchen but it didn’t seem like every other table had ordered food so it felt like a long wait). When the food arrived it was very good, we had mushroom bao, halloumi bao, sweetcorn fritters and chicken strips. We were still a bit hungry so ordered 2 more bao (a chicken and a pulled pork) which again took a while to arrive and weren’t as tasty as the first 2 we’d had. Overall we enjoyed our visit and will probably return for a leisurely meal some time in the future.

The staff started watering down the drinks towards the end of the bottomless brunch, I don’t normally complain but we left more sober than we started from a bottomless brunch

If I could give zero stars I would do! We went for bottomless brunch and expected such a lovely afternoon. No…. Oh weren’t we wrong! Slow service and didn’t appreciate the fact we asked mimosas and got just pure orange juice? Didn’t realise a mimosa in barrow boys books meant alcohol free. Also gin cooler? Gin what?? Someone wanna tell me where the gin is!?? Went in after a few drinks and left sober! If you don’t wanna get drunk here’s the place to go because honestly getting a drink every half an hour is brill. You’ll drink more water in the space of half an hour because it’s the only thing you can shot.

Great place! Staff are welcoming, yum food and dogs are allowed which is always a bonus!

Love this place. Been a couple of times with family and dream of the bao buns. Came recently by myself and really enjoyed it as usual. Staff always nice and friendly, service quick for saying they always seem to be absolutely rammed (I recommend booking), and cocktails always tasty. Would be good as just a bar without food too. But then those bao buns are worth the long walk from town. Will be back and been recommending to everyone.

Barrow boy have made our date night so special. The lady with the blonde hair and the lady with the black hair who served us on Saturday night were both so kind and attentive to everything we needed, cannot fault the service. The food was gorgeous, some of the best I’ve ever had in sheffield and the drinks were just as amazing. Would recommend Barrow Boy to everyone. Cannot thank the wonderful staff enough, they’re an asset to the business

First visit and it most definitely will not be the last! What can I say, went for the bottomless brunch with 2 friends from the dark side (Lancashire!). From the moment we arrived I cannot praise this place enough. Service was second to non, drinks were plentiful and amazing and the same went for the food. If you could give 10 ⭐ I would.Already booked to return, an absolute hidden gem, well done everyone involved!!

Bit of a mixed bag, great atmosphere, some of the food is really good but some is a bit flavourless. Service was great! But I can't get over one boa for £5 (with no sides) feels very steep to me.

We had 4 different bao buns. All were excellent. There's presently a 2 for 1 offer which is exceptional value. The texture of the buns was superb. Cheesy fries were an unnecessary indulgence, but hey, who cares. Yum.

So glad I found this place! It’s a little bar so I’m also glad we booked. As soon as we saw the bao buns online we just had to go during our trip to Sheffield. Cocktails were lovely as was the service but we were there for the food and were not disappointed!! We tried all flavours of the bao and one of the rice bowls, I can't tell you which was my favourite because it was all so delicious. Take a trip and find out for yourself, I just wish we lived closer!

I cannot begin to describe how amazing the food is here! Absolutely sensational, the textures and flavours are like no other. They also have a meal deal type offer 12-4 which is an absolute steal! The staff are so friendly and attentive. This was my first visit to Barrowboy but it certainly won’t be my last, highly highly recommend!

Really enjoyed my first visit to Barrowboy for lunch today. Pitch perfect service from Joe, no waiting around but not hurried either. The food was A-MAZE-ING! I had the Deckards Kaarage. Utterly delicious! It will not be my last visit

We sat outside, small area but sheltered from the rain and enough tables. A laid back, relaxed atmosphere with a good choice of drinks. The bao buns are a must from the menu, we tried one of each and shared the loaded fries which was plenty for 2 people. Would recommend and will be returning!

The food was unbelievably good, the bar itself was busy for a Monday night but we didn't have to wait too long for food and service. The lads were attentive with us as well!

Absolutely love the food and have been before and took a friend to try it but had an awful experience last night. Table booked for 8:30, drinks served okay but food order not taken until 9, and had to be asked to take our order. 45 mins of being sat at the table we were approached and told the table was needed...when the booking says 1.5 hours duration. No one came back and apologised or said sorry we’ve made a mistake...not acceptable and put us off our dinner. Only two tables in, ourselves (a table of 2) and one of 5 females getting louder and louder to the point we couldn’t hear ourselves talk to each other. They were smashing drinks on the floor and knocking the safety barriers. No attempt to ask them to quieten down or be more respectful of others, which in the current climate we are living in should have been done. Complained to the person who brought the bill and the response was just looking through me. Not a happy customer at all.
